Black Walnut is a good restaurant. My boyfriend and I went out to lunch here yesterday and it was nice though there were a few hiccup during our experience. My boyfriend ordered the Prime Rib sandwich (not pictured) and I ordered the Brisket Burger. Both meals were delicious. We also ordered the Mint Cucumber Margarita and The Blushing Lady. Both drinks were DELICIOUS. Unfortunately, we were forgotten about (even with a pager) so our food took about 20 minutes longer than expected. As far as the restaurant itself, it was busy but not overly so. The staff didn't have masks on and they didn't seem required, though we wore them. Everyone was polite so we do plan to return within the next month as we live close.

I got my favorite dish, the black walnut salad, perfect for a hot day! My friend enjoyed the blueberry goat cheese salmon salad and it looked equally delicious. I love their mango flavored tea and there were plenty of tables available inside, to escape the heat.

This was our first visit. It's a cute place with great atmosphere. Didn't realize that you need to order at the register until I walked in. It's a little confusing and we saw multiple tables sit down, waiting for a waiter. However, the cashiers spotted each group that sat down without ordering and explained everything to them. The food was delicious! I ordered the eggs Benedict and requested they make them extra runny and they were perfect. My husband ordered the Fritatta and loved it. I recommend this place to everyone.

My favorite Vintage Park neighborhood go-to for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a cocktail. Excellent coffee, interesting dishes and a lovely patio that's perfect for working away from the office, to a lazy Saturday afternoon brunch. Love!

This was the first time I’ve visited on a Saturday morning. Our party of 9 walked in around 9:30. The manager was very helpful with putting tables together. There was plenty of room for us to sit together in an area that we wouldn’t be too disruptive of other guests. The Avocado Bacon Benedict was DELICIOUS!!! I normally have the Lobster Benedict but I wanted to try something different. The grits were creamy and everything was so good. I even tried the Mimosa flight. 😋♥️ Next time I think I’ll try the Big Plate. Several people I was with enjoyed it.

Tip: you can order off any menu. For example chicken fried steak is on the dinner menu and you can order it for breakfast. The staff is so well trained—like ritz Carleton over the top well trained. Really pleasant work environment .

Went here for brunch. The food was amazing! The atmosphere is very nice. The only thing I didn’t like was you had to order at the counter. We ordered chicken wings as a starter, I had Lobster eggs Benedict & my husband had steak and eggs. Everything was delicious!! The only complaint my husband had … & he’s one that loves complain! 🤣 Was that the steak was too small. So fun to check them out, you can thank me later!!

I honestly didn't really know what to expect when I first tried Black Walnut Café. When you enter, you go to the cashier and order your food. Pay before you eat. I ordered the pot rooster and my wife ordered the salmón. We sat down and waited. The food came out quick and a server brought the food to our table, which I didn't expect seeing as that it wasn't a traditional restaurant. Both dishes were delicious. I was worried that the pit roast may be a little dry, but it was probably the best pot roast I have ever tried. The food definately did not disappoint. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone. Another thing to note is they also have a nice bar. It has an elegant setting that is warm and inviting. The outdoor patio area was very inviting but I decided to dine inside on this visit. Try this place out.

First time visit, and definitely coming back! As we entered we noticed a line of people ordering at a register. We were soon greeted while browsing the menu at the entrance, and explained to that the BWC do things a bit different. You do order at a register first. After ordering you dispense your own drink if you got a soft drink. They offer the Coca Cola freestyle machine with multiple flavors. Then, you choose your table to sit at. Alternatively they do offer a full service bar if you feel like just sitting, and being served. They do serve the food to your table though! You are given a buzzer that is basically just a order number for your table for the servers to know whose who, it does not buzz. Food came out fast, and servers are extremely friendly and courteous! We ordered the Vindaloo Wings as a starter. These were cooked to perfection! Fall off the bone perfection! Flavor was out of this world. I personally have a very high spice tolerance, so these were not spicy to me at all, but bursting with delicious flavors! They come served beautifully stacked, which I forgot to take a picture of because I couldn’t wait to dig in! I could order just these, and still be happy. I ordered the Texas-sized Wagyu Chicken Fried Steak. Everything about it, perfect! Cooked perfectly and also bursting with wonderful flavor. Served with mashed potatoes which compliment it very well. Well portioned to finish if you are hungry, and leave full and satisfied. My fiancé ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich. Which I didn’t grab a picture of, but was able to snag a few bites! Even the sandwich tasted amazing! Overall we loved the atmosphere, loved the food, and wondered why we haven’t tried it sooner! Definitely will be returning! Thank you for an amazing lunch.

Such a wonderful place for family dinner on a Friday night! Came through and made it in time for Happy Hour prices. Hubby got a $7 burger with the best fries ever! We ordered a $5 queso and chips that was very good, although a bit spicey for me (im apparently a weenie). The daughter got a gorgeous chicken and waffles, with the pretties over easy eggs, and the tenders were juicy and tender, not overcooked. I ordered the lobster pasta, which was delicious, but just too spicy for me. Seriously, so good!! But, that heat murdered my stomach. I felt so bad because I was trying to power though on the expensive lobster pasta, but when I told our server, Rolando, he was not having it at all-- he immediately offered to have it remade for me. Pasta came back out fresh and glorious, not spicy, but instead with a delicious creamy lemon butter taste! Isabel also took great care of us. Overall, a really wonderful dinner, low stress, happy bellies. Will definitely be back.

I went here on a Saturday. You have to order and pay at the counter first, and then they bring your food out to your table. The food was pretty good. I had the lobster benedict with grits, and they were tasty. The cheesecake is to die for. It was nice and creamy and not overly sweet. The service was great. Rolando was kind and gracious. I will definitely be returning.

Was met at the entrance by very friendly , ready to help staff. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The wait staff was super helpful, very friendly and patient with us. (First time here). All the servers kept checking up on us to make sure we had what we needed and wanted. They patiently explained the order process to us, and delivered our food to our table. The food looked incredible and tasted super yummy!!! The whole restaurant was clean,, including the restroom. I highly recommend this place!!!

The food here is incredibly good. I had a Ham and Cheese Omelet with Wheat Toast. It was delicious and the toast were really good. I love the butter on them. We also got a Build Your Own Omelet with ham, cheese and Bell Peppers. The bell peppers were too overpowering. The service was good and we ate in the nice outside patio area.

I've knocked off a star from my previous experience based on a more recent visit. The fish tacos were delicious. The "balsamic vinaigrette" I was offered for my salad turned out to be balsamic vinegar and not a good one, making the salad virtually inedible. The cannoli had been sitting too long and were rather stale. We complained and I was told "we don't have balsamic vinaigrette". But thankfully we were offered a replacement dessert, which made up for some of the deficit. I'll come back sometime and see if BW can earn back that star next time!

I really enjoyed going to this place very relaxed friendly workers and customers. The only thing that I'm a little opposed to is tipping$ In the beginning, I used to tip very well but I never had anyone come up to me greet and see if I needed any assistance. I have to get up myself to self serve, so I didn't understand the reason for tipping. Which I have no problem getting up myself in self-serve but if I'm going to do that then there's no reason for tipping as it is the prices are pretty steep but well worth it.

It was our first time having brunch here. The food was good. Flavors were pleasing to the palate. Although it was a busy afternoon, the food came out within 15 mins. My only complaint is the eggs were a little overdone on my Brisket Benedict.

Food was great! Service was not so great and they don’t offer military discount. My order was wrong and the kids at the front don’t know much. Overall, the food was good to come for but the service was not so great

The ordering is easy but you have to stand in a line to place the order. The service is really good and the staff very attentive and friendly, The tortilla soup was very tasty and the tacos were delicious. Great atmosphere to sit and chat with friends without feeling rushed.

The food was incredibly delicious, and I’ll definitely be returning. The staff, especially Shadi and Jennifer, provided excellent service, always wearing smiles and going above and beyond to take care of us.

The food was decent I will say. But over priced the drinks were nice. Our waitress was great. The Biarra Tacos were not IT AT ALL. Even the dipping sauce was a no go for me.

Fabulous place. We typically go for happy hour. Our go-to drink is the Lychee Martini. It's always so freaking good!! The Birria tacos are really good, as are the Brussels sprouts.

The Lobster Cheese Pasta was delicious. However I would have liked a slice of garlic bread. I had a Velvet cupcake for something sweet. Honestly it was not moist. The Italian cheese frosting was good. Service and the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend 👍

Very nice restaurant. Perfect brunch spot with different options for mimosas. Mimosas are pretty strong. It's a self serve kind of restaurant. You find your own seating and then stand in line to order your food. They give you a number which you take back to your table and then they bring the food to your table. I had the chicken and waffles and they were so good. The syrup is really sweet. The chicken was perfectly crisp and yet tender juicy meat. Lightly seasoned but to perfection. They have options that aren't breakfast. They have vegan friendly meals as well. Customer service was great at the same time you have very little time around or with them. They give you a pitcher for the mimosas so you refill your own cup unless you get a flight. A flight comes in 4 cups that's what I had. Bathroom was clean. Over all cleanliness. The food prices aren't bad at all. If it's just you and a date you'll spend about $50. This is a place kids can be but we didn't take the kids we had a double date there and it was nice. It's a great place to relax without kids. I have no complaints but this is my conclusion it's worth going to The Black Walnt Cafe and we will be back!!

Have always loved this place and have been going here since they opened years ago. The restaurant is super clean, the staff have always been great and there’s plenty of different food options to accommodate even the most selective of eaters. Wagyu Chicken Fried steak- breaded perfect, crispy and good quality meat. It isn’t that overly breaded thin strip of meat some places serve. Asian Glazed Atlantic Salmon- Cooked perfect and has a great sweet Asian sauce with a sesame seed bite to it. Mediterranean Chicken- Super tender chicken with a super tasty lemony sauce on top We got this particular meal to go (first time not eating it there) and it traveled great and was packaged great to with all items and substitutes present. Highly recommend and will obviously continue returning!
