This is not pizza margherita...was tasteless and our waiter, who was a little on the pompous/crass side, informed me that in Texas, it's not served with tomato sauce...I googled other restaurants, and yes it is. Giving it at least one star, because the food runner was pleasant. Other diner at table had chicken pesto pizza, that was supposed to have goat cheese...it didn't and was very bland. Other diner had spaghetti and meatballs, and this was decent. Service was only attentive at check time.

Warning, long post! Husband and I dined at this restaurant after watching a play at the Alley Theater on 8/12/23. This is not our first time here. Due to this Houston heat, we have decided to dine here as it was closer than The Post. Little did we know that the manager in this place requires to sign up again for a customer service class as he was being rude. We were told at the front desk to dine at the bar because the tables are “fully booked”. Please refer to the picture. We looked in Google thru Open Table, and husband found an available reservation at 4:45pm, we were at the bar at 4:37pm, so we booked it to comfortably seat at a table. The two older ladies beside as at the bar were told the same thing as well but are technologically challenged so as a good citizen, I assisted to book a table at 5pm on their behalf because it was available (Mind you that their system was connected with Open Table and we had a legit confirmation of our bookings). This manager named Armando was loud in front of me and my husband telling me that I should not help other guests to book. If their system screwed up, it was not my fault as the customer, but he should still be respectful since we don’t want to stay at this place that needs a major face lift longer than 30mins. Our server named, Key, was very nice and attentive and we even tipped her 20%. All in all, food was mediocre as well as the manager and I believe that this is the only way to get their attention. He even tried to walked up to our table again and talked to me which I wasn’t interested and told him, “No, please don’t even”. After dining after 30mins. Place was still somewhat empty.

DONT GO THERE!!!!!!! Staff is rude, glasses were filthy and given attitude when asked for replacement glasses, takes EXTENDED amounts of time to receive food. When food arrived it was COLD!!!!!!!!!!! In fear of something worse being done to food orders, we asked for to go boxes. The waiter says “to go already?!” I reply with “we’re late returning to work as this took a long time to even get food. He starts yelling with an attitude “well i mean we have to COOK THE CHICKEN!!!” He left came back and placed to go boxes on a neighboring chair without handing it to us. In the pictures you will see establishment is empty and this was during day time during the work week and no line of customers or anything that warranted this type of treatment from a dining establishment. The manager came and said he would comp us but didn't. We asked for the check to be split and he didn't ask who had what, since our rude server left and never came back to us. The receipts were still wrong, but were had to hurry and return to our downtown jobs. The staff hid at the back never to return, which you can see in 2 of the pictures that they’re near the back registers, including the manager that was to comp us. If you want COLD FOOD, DIRTY GLASSES, RUDE/DELAYED/IGNORED service…… then go here. Otherwise, you’d experience BETTER food and service at a Waffle House! *****CLOSE DOWN BIRRAPORETTIS*****

Got a chance to eat some food at Birraporetti's! Walk-in and they have a piano player playing soft jazz and classical music to set the mood. The pizza is so so good. Freshly made pizza dough and simple toppings but such a great flavor. I normally don't eat the crust of my pizza (I know I'm weird..😁😁) but I destroyed the entire thing...🤗🤗 The spinach pasta alfredo was a hit too. Got a chance to meet the chef after I ordered the pasta dish and we had such an amazing conversation about this dish and he then recommended the cheesecake... I got the strawberry cheesecake and it didn't disappoint me at all. All in all, I gave 5 out of 5 for the three dishes I tried. I would highly recommend this place and I look forward to eating here again!

It was a night at the Alley Theater and of course dinner before at Birraporetti's! It's so convenient and they handle crowds before the show well! I got the pasta with goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes and grilled chicken. It was pretty yummy and the creamy sauce wasn't too overpowered by the goat cheese. The other dish is the spinach pasta Alfredo with chicken. All came with a side salad or upgrade to a Caesar salad. I expected some bread to be brought out but either they stopped that or you have to ask for it. They kept our glasses full and our server was friendly. It took a bit to get her attention when we were ready for our check but no big deal and we got to the show on time.

Pasta primavera is bland. Shrimp is under cooked. Came here for a dinner during Opera intermission. The waitstaff doesn’t come to check on you, the service was very underwhelming. This was surprising as there was only a few tables being seated. This is definitely not a premium Italian restaurant. My unsolicited advice…go somewhere else before and during the Opera. As this was a huge disappointment. I was just a table of one and they couldn’t get this right.

I have been coming here for years with family, whether it be we were craving for pasta, or after any shows near Jones Hall. The food is absolutely delicious—my favorite go to is the Marco Polo pasta since it is a perfect spicy and sweet. There are times when service tends to be a little slow (especially on holidays) but the food and the atmosphere make up for it. Live music on some nights.

We enjoy this restaurant. The food tasted really good. I had a Fetuccini Alfredo with Shrimp and it was delisious. The sauce was creamy and tasty. It had a good amount of shrimp. We also tried a pasta with a cheesy sauce. It was very creamy and tasty. The chicken was tender and savory. The service was pretty good and fast.

This place was an absolute delight!! Went there for a date night. The food was amazing. They had a lounge singer, who in my opinion was quite cheesy 😅 but very entertaining. And sang some great songs as well. The decor is very old school Italian upscale. I absolutely loved it.

My wife and I went last night and were told almost immediately that they were short-staffed. Red flag much? The manager found us a table, which shouldn't have been a concern givens I'm our reservation. She said our server was one of the best, which must mean the rest are absolutely terrible. He arrives with water and seems annoyed that we're not ready to order after 30 whole seconds of looking at the menu. We ordered an appetizer, my wife ordered a pasta dish that came with a house salad, and I decided on a big salad. Her house salad arrived before our appetizer, giving the distinct impression of having been prepared ahead of time and sent to the next person in line. Our drinks arrived at some point and weren't refilled until the check came, roughly 45 minutes later. My wife's pasta came in a dirty bowl and was inedible. The grilled chicken was more akin to jerky, and she asked for the manager after two bites. We ended up sharing my salad and went to the theatre hungry. Very disappointing, to say the least.

It's been several years since I've been here and tonight I was nearby and hungry. There was live music as I entered the door, also no greeter. I walk up to two gentlemen sitting at the host table and instead of them asking me "How many?" I have to ask if I stumbled into a private event. They tell me no and I have to say that I would like to eat here before either one moves to seat us. The rest of the staff was great! Live music was a fun twist and the food was delicious!

Birraporetti’s has been a favorite of ours in the Houston Theater District for years. The food is awesome and the location is prime! Nice work team!

The live music performance was too loud, the food was average at the best though the food portions are good.

Wow, I had a wonderful dinner prior to going to see a show at 7. The food was excellent. I ordered the Lemon pepper chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was seasoned to perfection, truly I will be coming back again

Food was on point; Hot and delicious! Waiter was kind and informative. Nice mood atmosphere. Enough space to be comfortable. The only 2 things that thru me off was 1) the "offering" of the garlic bread only to find out i got charged for them and 2) when the sampler tray was ordered, I wasn't "asked" or it wasn't "specified" if I wanted the small or the large. They just brought the big one. But always someone coming by to check and offer refills with enough time spaced out. Now I want to try their other location in Friendswood to see if it's as good as the downtown location by the alley theater. Definitely recommended.

Let me start with as soon as we walked in they were quick to seat us we had friends meeting us there with a baby. The staff made sure we were comfortable. Now for the food literally have no words the food was so delicious. I’m usually not the one to finish a plate and I did. The other thing I loved is that they have Gluten-free options and the drinks are all great!!!

Looks can be deceiving. I usually don’t like burgers, but I ordered the cheeseburger and it looked very basic. But it was incredibly delicious. The meat was juicy and the bun was incredible. I don’t know what the bun was made of but it was really good. My friend ordered a pizza and it was huge. The pizza was well made. My friends also enjoyed their pastas. We made a reservation in which most of us were about 15 minutes late, but they still were able to accommodate us. We were celebrating a birthday and the server was super sweet. I would recommend this establishment especially for special occasions.

You must go here to eat. The food was awesome. Our server, Jennifer, was amazing. She had a great personality. Loved the live singer. Very clean. Enjoyed the atmosphere. I had pizza and continued to eat my leftovers for two days (and it was still delicious 😋). I will definitely be back when in the area.

Man...I haven't heard of Birraporetti's seems like a million years. I was so excited to dine-in after our symphony event. It was as I remembered from many years ago. I ordered the pizza with 4 toppings. The crust was good and crispy. Not overly cheesy or saucy. I loved it so much I put myself in a food coma. My husband and I will be dining in in the future 🙂 Our waiter, Charles, was very attentive and helpful in meal selections. Thanks for a great experience 🥰

We dined here on a Friday night while staying in downtown Houston. When we first arrived the restaurant was bustling and I thought we would definitely have a long wait before being seated, but that was not the case. The staff was able to seat us quickly and within 20 minutes of being the entire restaurant had cleared out. We learned people like to dine here before shows across the street and we just happened to come in right as the show was starting. The theme of the this restaurant plays into the theater puns. I really enjoyed the Tequila Mocking Bird. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, my partner ordered the filet with fettuccine, and our friend ordered the grilled chicken alfredo. Apparently we were all in the mood for fettuccine. I am a big fan of home made alfredo and was slightly disappointed by their sauce. I can’t say for certain, but I do not believe this sauce is made from scratch. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was fair for the price. Overall, I wouldn’t mind eating here again.

Got the pasta poretti and NY strawberry cheesecake. Service was as expedient as it was incredible. Definitely coming back again for that manicott and cannoli soon. Salute

Our server Travis was very menu knowledgeable. All of his recommendations were great. Please try the cheesy garlic bread lol The pie was great... the crust was perfect. The Alfredo was very fresh. There is a man in there singing the great classics, mainly country... he was a charm. Definitely will return

Stayed in the Hyatt right down the road for my first time in Houston and decided to walk here to try it out. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the grilled beef medallions and they were cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes? Phenomenal. My sister had the pasta poretti and the tiramisu- loved both! If I ever find myself in Houston again, I’ll definitely be back.

I love the vibe in this restaurant - the classy vibe with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was incredible! I had pasta poretti. We also ordered spaghetti and meatballs, chicken alfredo and pollo poretti. They were all AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend this restaurant! Ask for Martin - he’s an awesome waiter!

First time here and had an amazing dining experience! My waiter took great care of me Monday night and gave me some solid wine recommendations. Took his word for a pasta dish and I can’t wait to return to try more! Highly recommended and the live music on Mondays really seals the deal.

All times listed below are from the moment we were seated at the table. Our server was Travis. Drink order taken: 66 seconds Drink arrival: two minutes thirty four seconds. (2:34) Order taken: two minutes forty six seconds (2:46) Bread Arrived three minutes fourth four seconds (3:44) Salads arrived seven minutes fify four seconds (7:54) Main course arrived to table at twelve minutes two seconds Received check to the table at twenty eight minutes sixteen seconds (28:16) Food was dead in and exactly as ordered. I ordered Manicotti with sausage. The sausage was a generous amount and separate from the Manicotti. The Manicotti tasted fresh and texture was perfect to the pallet. My wife ordered the Lobster Ravioli which was served at the perfect temperature. The sauce was really creamy and smooth. Prices were moderate and acceptable.
