Loved every second of this place. The ambiance is amazing, the food is out of this world and the service is unmatched. This rivals at top 3 steakhouses in houston in my opinion. From fresh greens at the salad bar to only premium cuts of steak you literally cannot go wrong here. All salad dressings are homemade, rolls are fresh and steaks are of top quality beef. Drinks are great and most importantly consistent in quality and potency. Could not have asked for a better waiter or better dining experience. Can’t compliment this place enough on quality and service. Absolutely top notch and guaranteed to impress!

Loved the atmosphere at Taste of Texas! Great for any special occasion, and the staff is professional and friendly. The steaks here are some of the best I've ever had - definitely make reservations, because the wait could be up to 2 hours otherwise. You get to choose your own steak, and mine (the t-bone) was cooked perfectly. The salad bar is included with any steak order, and it's got a great fresh and varied selection. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

Good experience! Definitely an expensive place to dine, as you should expect from a steakhouse. The server was super nice to guide us through the menu, which quite frankly was a bit confusing for first comers. You get a complementary salad, bread, and a side if you order one of the entrées, otherwise you’d have to add it. Definitely get the salad, which you can make yourself at the salad bar - the sauces are so yummy. The salad was one of my favourite parts! We got the cowboy steak, a bone in 24oz rib-eye, and it was great! The server bring you to the fridge and let you choose the piece pre-sealed. Nice to choose it yourself so you can see the cut before. Supposedly they dry age all the steaks they serve, which you kinda can taste, the stronger beef flavour. Yet, it lacked a bit of juiciness in my opinion. I’m used to more juicy rib-eyes and I was expecting that from a place like this. Overall good experience. I’d recommend taking a large stake to share because you’re not going to finish that alone, and perhaps add an extra salad or starter. Recommended! We spent $60/pp.

The restaurant is huge and a mix of casual and dressed up customers. The service and hospitality is great. The owner Mrs. Nina Hendee stopped at each table and said hello to us and thanked us for coming. I thought that was really nice and sweet. When she wasn’t talking to the guests she was clearing and setting tables! She seems like a wonderful person. The food was delicious and came nice and hot. The salad bar is nice, but I would prefer a plated salad and bread brought to the table.

This was my first time going to Taste Of Texas since my friend wanted to take me. We had Robby for our waiter and he was amazing! He made me feel comfortable and right at home. The food was great and the bread was even better! I got to pick out my cut of steak and took a ton of photos of the decorations around the restaurant. Everyone was dressed up nice and the atmosphere was very elegant and friendly. Very clean, respectable, and organized restaurant all around. I just wish I had room for desert after my very filling steak. Next time I’ll have to eat less bread from the salad bar to have room to try their desert menu😊

My Wife and I met our friends to celebrate the ladies' retirement on a Thursday evening. The Texas ambience and large room feel is impressive. We were immediately seated and shortly greeted by our waitress, Allison. After ordering our food, we had a trip to the salad bar, which had a great selection of fresh lettuce and many accessories. About midway through our salad, the waitress was back and in just the right amount of time our dinner was on the table. We all enjoyed our food, but this was the Best NY Strip steak I've had in a long time, and We were visited by the manager. O and the desert tray is important not to pass up. They did a great job with the salad bar, the food, the wait staff and the Texas atmosphere and look of the restaurant. We are from Houston and and I know we will be back soon. Don't miss this place! Great Job. Reservations recommended.

This place is simply a steak lover's dream. We came here for the first time last week and had a fantastic experience! Food: 5/5 all the steak are high quality and you're able to choose your own steak for them to grill. We got the Tomahawk and porterhouse steaks to share between 3 ppl, meat was very tender and flavor was rich. Size of the steaks were definitely Texas sized! They even have a salad bar with really good selections of veggies. We got the snickers pie for dessert, it was freaking amazing. You just can't go wrong with this place. Service: 5/5 our server was great and attentive throughout the night even though the place was packed. I could tell all the servers are experienced and know what they're doing! Ambiance: 5/5 lots of Texas style decor and there's lots of history/interesting facts strewn about on the walls. We sat in a room full of vintage wine corks they put in glass displays. There were antique muskets and swords on the walls as well, really cool to see! I would for sure come back again, thanks for an amazing meal!

When I requested that my husband take me to the most Texas restaurant in Houston, this is where we ended up. I was originally anticipating an amped up version Texas Roadhouse but Taste of Texas turned out to be even better than anticipated. The steak - so many cuts to choose from and cooked to perfection! You can choose your own steak which was really fun. The meat was super juicy and tender. Our server suggested we get butter on the side so we can try all the flavors with our steak and we very much enjoyed that as well! Salad bar is top notch, probably the best salad bar outside of a Brazilian steak house The service was stellar, super attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Our beverages were always filled at the right time and each course was paced perfectly. The decor was very on theme, genuine Texas artifacts adorn the walls and the whole space feels like an upscale country tavern. Highly recommend for fellow meat eaters who enjoy classic steakhouses!

Taste of Texas, my first visit to restaurant and I was in Texas many times before. How in the world did I miss place like this. This is above and beyond one of best places in Texas I have visited, EVER. Amazing food, friendly people, no reservation? No problem, come wright in! Food was amazing on so many ways. Managers are very caring and friendly and I leave best for the end!!! Every place has that one person who puts the extra effort to make you feel like at home, person who speaks multiple languages and have a Million dollar smile! We were blessed to be served by Natalie, Amazing person, we will be back for more, You can count on it! Thank you

First time at this restaurant and I was blown away by the whole experience. Loved it. From Texas history to the Chopping Block in the back where you can pick out your steak. Salad Bar was 1st class. Steak was melt in your mouth. Unbelievable. Highly recommended.

The salad bar was awesome and had a large variety of fresh options to add. All the drinks ordered were very good. Large busy restaurant with indoor and outdoor waiting areas. The ribeye steak was good but not great. Had really high expectations for the steak. Would come back since the service was great and will try a different cut of meat next time!

This restaurant is Amazing!! Tina our waitress was professional yet fun. The food was melt in your mouth DELICIOUS. The decor was eye drawing & educational. Taste of Texas is now my new favorite restaurant in all of Houston area!! My only issue was it was my first ever visit & I asked our waitress to pack ALL the left over for & when we got home we were missing many items that were on our plates that I didn't even try because I was so full, Very disappointing..

Taste of Texas is a local favorite. One - for their DELICIOUS steaks, and 2) for their super support for the local US Navy Families. The owners are just awesome people and spirits, and it is reflected in their restaurant, its staff, and its customer service. It is no wonder the lines are out the door. The steaks, the salad bar, the drinks - all top notch!

The food is really good a little more expensive then I normally do however the food was up the the price. Everything was western style but also fine dinning. Salad bar is good and clean. Waitresses are nice. The only thing I didn’t like much is how crowed the place it. They put people really close together then I like. The wait time wasn’t too long we had reservations and only took like 10mins to get a table. The drinks were good as well. Best steak I ever had.

As many times as I have been in Houston, this is the first time I heard of this place. My business guests suggested this restaurant and I am very glad they did. I had 7 guests and because this place is so busy and totally booked, we had to eat at 4:30! It was well worth it. As large and crowded the place is we were treated like royalty! They even gave us a tour of the whole place including their butcher shop and kitchen! Deliciously prepared food and very prompt and courteous service. Even though it's not on the cheap side it's worth every penny. As we were leaving, there at least 50 people waiting to be seated and this is a very large restaurant with multiple dinning rooms!

This is my first time visiting Houston. I'm away on a business trip and taste of Texas was highly recommended. I'm so glad I'm here, the ambience, the professionalism of the staff, everything from top to bottom is pure excellence. I ordered a 16 ounce prime rib, it's honestly one of the best I've ever had. Definitely a must visit if you are in the Houston area.

Greatest steak house experience so far in Houston. And actually dine in twice during the stay. With Christmas 🎄 and country style decorations. We enjoyed couple different steaks 🥩 and love them all. A strong recommend steak house. Will definitely try that next time and get some more. Since it’s crowded all the time, suggest to make reservations ahead.

Tried this place for thr first time in Houston with my family. My mom goes to this place religiously so she suggested we all go there to have dinner. I want to start by saying their salad bar is phenomenal! I was very impressed with how fresh everything looked and how clean it was. I also like that require everyone to wear gloves while fixing your plate to be very cautious because of covid. I had the salmon and it was not dry at all. My family had beef and chicken options for their dinner selection and they had no complaints either. Oh yeah how could I not mention the rolls yum! When you fix your salad the have a little oven with fresh rolls and there are all kinds of rolls and I enjoyed them. I would go back and recommend people to go as well.

Definitely enjoyed Taste of Texas. Our server was awesome and sheknew everything about the restaurant and menu. I had the 16 oz Ribeye Brussels sprouts and they have a salad bar and different breads to choose from. Expect to spend over $100 for a party of two with most options but was worth it. I also got the Stuffed Mushroom caps with crab cake filling.

First time to Taste of Texas with my family. We loved the food. Best steak I have ever had and I love steak. This fine restaurant needs to be on top 50 restaurants in the nation! I want to personally thank Erin our server for giving us VIP service. The manager was walking around making sure all the guest were fully satisfied. All the food is amazing. Erin showed us around and made us feel very comfortable. I finally found my #1 Steak house. If you are looking to eat like a king and be treated like one, look no further. THANK YOU!!! A few locals recommended this restaurant on our short trip to Houston, the best of the best close to downtown for steaks, we look the menu prior our arrival but … we never knew that they have salad bar! Alex our nice waitress, ask us if it was our first time we responded with a big and loud yes but big mistake he never told us about the salad bar and we ordered two appetizers , the problem? After the appetizer he mention the salad bar and at the time the steaks got to the table with more than 5 sides, I was already full, couldn’t finish eating the expensive steak… big big mistake! BUT, overall everything was really good!

Taste of Texas is excellent. The restaurant is set nice with interesting artifacts inside. The food was spectacular and cooked to perfection. All the employees we encountered were very kind and polite, until our server, Ivan, appeared. Ivan was not Ivan the Great, he was Ivan the Terrible. Sour attitude, no personality, no humor, and no thanks that I can remember. This really is a Five star venue, however Ivan impacted the experience. Ivan would be better off in the back having no interaction with guests. Avoid him and your experience will be great.

My family has been coming here for 10+ years to celebrate my birthday. I turned 21 yesterday, and deciding to keep up this tradition was the best decision I could have made. Taste of Texas ages just as well as their wines. It seems like over the years the service, food, and atmosphere keeps getting better. Our waitress, Laura E., was the spitting image of what exceptional waiting and customer service looks like. She made this milestone that much more unforgettable. As always, we cannot wait to go back!

I visited for celebrating my birthday. I got reservation but i had to wait around 30mins tho. Anyway, i was so satisfied everything. Steak and salad bar and breads everything is awesome. Also restaurant mood. Side menu and dessert is great too. 120% recommend this place!

our second time dining here but first time during the pandemic. we came for Christmas eve dinner since our original plans with family was canceled. really glad that Taste of Texas was opened and that we were seated quickly because restaurant was fully packed and many people especially big parties of families were waiting before us. it was a Xmas miracle for us because it should have been 45+ min wait but people canceled bc cuz they couldn't really long and that because there were only 2 of us, this was our 1st Christmas eve dinner as married couple which is why we wanted to go to a nice place for dinner to celebrate. restaurant was nicely decorated and festive for the holidays. great service as well as food.

I would have given 5 stars, for the service and Christmas deco. Was more than reasonably disappointed and surprised at how dry the lobster tails were. My husband and daughter just love seafood and they’d rather order lobster tails instead of steak. It was so dry. Had to be either overcooked or been frozen too long. It was our Christmas Eve dinner and the waiter was so nice, we didn’t want to ruin the moment and decided to not say anything. Perhaps others had experienced the same and would let the captain or manager know, and review the cooking instructions and improve customers experience. Overall for it’s Christmas scheme, it’s a great place to spend some Christmas time with loved ones.

We came in for a family dinner and the whole experience was just amazing. First of all, the restaurant was decked out for Christmas and honestly these decorations put you in a cheerful mood right away. The food and drinks were delicious. The staff was beyond friendly! Our parents were visiting for the first time so our server gave them souvenir scarves and took some pictures for us to keep. We didn’t expect it and it was such a sweet experience for all of us!
