I love eating steak I came here after work for a good meal the food here was not it!! Ordered the Hawaiian ribeye and it was mostly fat, my sides came with a baked potato and Broccolini, I didn’t want the baked potato and asked for extra broccolini I was told they couldn’t do any addons to my meal and it was regular broccoli that didn’t taste fresh. I paid 80+ for a very very pathetic meal. Manager there was very rude, she was a white lady with busted teeth, took my card from my table I stopped her because she wasn’t my server I asked her what was she doing, she still never addressed herself as a worker at this establishment only said “ I came to get your card as it was declined.” Oh yeah? You’re very snappy for someone that supposed to be more hospitable to your guest sweetheart. This place is definitely more of a chili’s and Applebee’s vibe with a bigger price tag, I will never come here again. The broccoli is the accurate amount you will get definitely not worth the money. Drinks were good though

We decided to try out this restaurant as we love Bartlett’s from Austin and this restaurant’s got some ties to it back when it was called Houston’s. The atmosphere and menus are pretty similar but I’d say Hillstone has slightly less options. The food was just as to be expected delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. All the food we got was perfect and I only wish we had more. One thing to note is this restaurant has a pretty strict attire and cell phone policy - while my pictures were fine, any phone calls had to be taken at the front.

The best service with 5 star food! Sierra was absolutely the best we’ve EVER had. It seemed like she was our personal waitress the whole night! Recommend making a reservation as this place is always packed! This is the first place I’ve been to that changed my cocktail to an iced martini glass to keep it cold. Very impressed. Perfect place for an anniversary dinner or an elevated dinner date. We’ll be back!

Hillstone’s (formally Houston’s) has been one of our favorites for years! Ambiance, service & especially the food are perfection. Today we decided to go for lunch - we especially enjoy sitting at the Bar if it just the two of us. Kevin was our bartender/server and he was awesome. My husband said this is the epitome of a comfortable ‘neighborhood bar’. We spoke with the couple sitting next to us - a great lunch. We went - intending to split their Home Smoked Salmon (served with crispy toast & great sauce) & their French Dip, BUT my husband happened to ask if they had their amazing grilled artichokes &&& they did! So - change of plans. After finishing the Salmon & the Artichokes…AND drinks (Bloody Mary’s) - we were very content. We felt we had know Kevin forever - he was wonderful. **We had already eaten two of the Artichokes, when I decided to take a pic!**

I've been eating at Houstons since I was a child and it's always been a lovely experience. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is rustic and comfortable, the service is always excellent, and I've never left without planning my next meal there. A true Houston classic, perfect for any occasion. And they get a perfect black-and-blue sear on the steak every single time!

Typically, I enjoy my time dining at Hillstone, and the staff is always terrific to my guest and me. On this last visit, I reported my steak was undercooked, and the bartender addressed it immediately. Still, the manager took the steak (after id had a few bites) and continued cooking it till the requested temperature. Historically, I received a new steak; not sure why not this time, especially during the pandemic where things must be sanitized.

Drayton was very so sweet. He made sure we were taken care of. Explained to him that we are new to Texas and ask what he recommends and he nailed it. The food was great and employees are awesome!!! Exploring Texas and eating at different each Sunday, we will return.

Excellent food and great service. The restaurant is beautiful and well appointed. Portions are more than generous. Price per dish $20-$40, no free refills. Parking valet is free but you can also park your own car.

Delicious! Came in with my roommate for dinner. She worked here years ago and would not stop raving about it. And I completely see why. Fantastic fantastic fantastic. She had the Hawaiian ribeye with the baked potato. I had the pork chop with kale salad. Both were phenomenal. The service was great. Prices are reasonable for the quality and locale. Would highly recommend!

I had an outstanding experience. I Took my boyfriend out to eat and he loved it. It was our first time here and it was worth it. The food was on point and the service was amazing. The ribs and trout was so good. Food was so good we forgot to take pics lol. Thank you to Francesca was going above and beyond. We definitely will be back.

I’ve done 3 reviews in my life. This by far was the worst restaurant experience. Very noisy atmosphere might as well be at a sports bar. No ambience. But if you pick up your phone, they will walk next to your table and drop a card saying not you use your phone. They do not want your family to dine here if kids are under 13. They will stuff you in the back, rush you and your food then shoo you out. Much better when it was Houston’s. Will never come back. Plus, I ordered the Hawaiian steak and it came out raw had to send it back. On top of that they have some ugly KAREN as a manager.

This place is upscale but still has complementary valet parking. The food was great, minus that they didn't have broccoli but instead had bok choy for their veggie, which was not cooked well at all. Mashed potatoes and salmon were great, the rest of the food was delicious and the service was pleasant.

I came here for lunch. The restaurant was not busy so I was accommodated with a wait. I recently moved to Houston however I usually frequented the Hillstone/Houston’s in Dallas. I had the same great experience at this location as I did in Dallas. The food and service were perfect as I expected. I highly recommend the Key Lime Pie, Cheese Toast, and Grilled Chicken Salad.

The service here is outstanding. The food is very good but the menu is a bit limited. For lunch I ordered the Thai Noodle Salad. It was good. I didn’t really care much for the rotisserie chicken used in the dish. I always enjoy their other dishes such as their. Steaks, Fish, and salads.

Great spot for steak. Classy joint, so be prepared to remove your hat. Brick walls and wood trim created a fun environment. Food was fantastic! Make sure you get the cheese bread to start - so good. Steak was cooked just right (Medium) and the searing created just the right crunch. Very flavorful. Salads, veggies, fries, and the rest of the sides were delicious. Dessert was Key Lime Pie! Great job on the pie as well! 5 stars is well deserved here and will be a return spot for sure.

Great restaurant with delicious food and very attentive staff in a stylish venue with great vibe. It's hard to find a restaurant where their menu is very consistent and very good. Hillstone is one such restaurant, so no matter which one you go, it's the same great taste everywhere. So you should definitely give it a try.

We just landed an hour ago from San Francisco. And our first stop was Houston's ...aka "Hillstone". Yes, we know there's one in San Francisco right on pier 39...but not ya'll friendly staff and my Hubby's Texas steak! Belive there's a difference! Besides there's NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

Always delicious! Went to celebrate our first date announced, which we do yearly and had at the Houston’s Westheimer location 19 years ago! The service was spectacular and the food and drinks yummy and perfect!! Amazed when I read a poor review about this restaurant because each time I dine here, it’s consistent. Thank you to Hannah for making our anniversary perfect!

This was a good experience, we had to wait about an hour in the bar even though there were table available but they said they were short on staff to seat more people. Service at the bar was great and we stayed at the standing high tops at the far end. I wish there were some high seats there. Appetizer salmon was great, food was good although i wish i had chosen the salmon or ribs instead ot the rib-eye. I thought it was a little too much fat. Again, overall great experience, make a reservation for sure.

Went for the first time and enjoyed it very much. Service was great and food was amazing. Atmosphere was busy and a little loud but I think cause we went during lunch time. The lighting was dim and candles lit on all the tables. Nice for date night or special occasion. Will definitely be back maybe for dinner next time.

Amazing bar service and great burger with homemade bun. Smoked salmon and grilled salmon were great as well.

This is my second time here, and both times I've had the same dish - Thai Noodle Salad. However, I've also seen the dishes my colleagues order and I will go back to expand my horizons. The service is great, the atmosphere is very pleasant, and the overall experience has been comforting. I am most definitely be going back soon.

The food and Atmosphere were great, but the service was Average, A waiter came to our table to deliver our Appetizers and before we finished asking for plates he dashed off, He seemed irritated he didn't even acknowledge us he just basically threw the plates down.. I can't comprehend how people are so miserable at work, He was wondering the table next to us I would hate to think he was rasists he was extremely friendly and happy with the people he was serving next to us, I will return because I love the food here but felt very uncomfortable because him on a better note our waitress was great..

I’ve been here twice since I moved to Houston. Both times the service and food was amazing. Staff is very personable, prices are reasonable, ambience is nice and restrooms are always clean. I look forward to my next visit here. P.s. must try the seared Ahi Tuna Salad and the Red fish.

The food and service was absolutely fantastic! The lighting was perfect, the food was amazing, and the aura in the place was very welcoming. Ashlyn was phenomenal and we will definitely ask for her each time we reserve. Thank you Hillstone for the phenomenal hospitality.

The Bar is awesome as well! They have a dessert made from scratch called the Apple Walnut Cobbler, it is served warm with vanilla ice cream and is the best tasting cobbler I have ever had!

There are so many bbq joints in this town but DANG this place makes tasty ribs!!! I remember when it was called Houston's so long ago... There was 4 of us and we started with margaritas which were woohoo strong lol, the spinach artichoke dip, the shrimp cocktail, the grilled artichokes, n those tasty finger lickin ribs. Finished with a hot brownie topped with ice cream. Sorry lol by that time we were too many margaritas in to remember to take a picture! Our server Charles was exceptional he made our day! There is valet n plenty of parking. Btw the 4 of us the bill came to $214 w no tip. Half the bill was margaritas lol.

It took us to wait 15 minutes at the bar but totally worth it. Excellent service, delicious food. Recommended!
