What a mess, this venue really needs some training. After paying top dollar for a “VIP” experience that was very much not the case. Everyone knows it’s hot as all get out and you would expect a venue in Houston would know that. They should know how to treat their PAYING guest. Treating us like cattle being forced to wait outside after over a hour after being told to be there at a certain time. Staff had no clue what was going on or how to control the crowd. It was a very unsafe feeling after recent events. After going through security which was very relaxed at that we moved to the next holding point. After holding us hostage to the point of exhaustion they just opened the doors letting everyone in. Paying no regard to the line of people and keeping order. The staff literally said “just figure it out”. People who had been patiently waiting at the front were trampled over by people who had just showed up. Once inside the disorganization continues with everything from the bar, the lines and the meet and greet. This place is a joke. I seriously think they forgot they had a show and a job to do!

My wife and I saw the living legend Angel that is Charli XCX! We had front seats on the left balcony area. Absolutely the perfect spot to watch her do her thing. Overall I thought the sound quality was very good. The smaller venue I personally like, more intimate. I’m only giving it four stars because we did get some Appetizers at the restaurant prior, food wasn’t bad (my wife said the Nachos were good for bar food) and our waitress was slow and not the most engaging. Recommend the venue for the show, maybe pass on the food!

A great place to stop in for food and live music. We had a table up front, and the volume was perfect. The chicken pasta was good. The Voodoo Shrimp with cornbread was amazing. The drinks were poured strong and for what they're charging they need to be.

First time visiting the House of blue. I went with my family to see the “ Hombre G “ concert and I was very please with the organization and the place itself. The employees were very helpful all the time. The place was full but was not overwhelming. I love the experience.

The actual venue is so cute. But the bag policy is ridiculous! I brought a small clutch AS STATED online but still had to shell out 10 bucks to check it. Meaning I had to carry 2 tampons around all night since I didn’t have pockets. I know they won’t change the policy so whatever. That said, the venue was intimate and the staff nicely enforced the rules so I can’t knock off more than a star.

First time here. Had their nachos! They were awesome!! Little advise, split them with someone! Sorry for not having a picture of the nachos! When they hit the table we dove into them. After a great meal we went upstairs to watch TESLA! they put on a GREAT SHOW!

Came to see Motion City Soundtrack tonight, first time at The House of Blues. This venue is spacious, yet intimate. Sitting in the balcony somehow still gives you the same feelings as if you were on the floor viewing the show. Food and Drink prices are typical for clubs/concert venues. The decor on the wall pays tribute to the venues name, with folk art depicting different blues artists and legends. Only annoyance was that when the main act finally came onstage, lead singers vocals were out for the first song. Can't say if that's on the venue however. Over all a satisfactory experience. A clean and stylish rock venue with friendly staff.

The place is big inside, nice venue, great space for a more intimate experience, nice bar area. The prices are ridiculous- cup of water $6. Otherwise I love this place.

Nice venue and the staff did a great job organizing the herd upon entry! I was disappointed that the VIP section was so far back! I was told via email that it was 30 feet from the stage, but once I was inside it looks further back. And that's only if you get one of the front row tables, if not, then you could be alot further from the stage than that. I'm glad I opted NOT to buy it. It's $350 just for a 4 person table!! And that DOES NOT include the concert ticket. If it came with a closer view or drink/food credits, it might be worth it!

Went to see Dogstar - awesome show. HoB is a nice little venue with great acoustics. Whether your on the floor or in the balcony you've got a great place to watch pretty much any kind of show.

Great venue, good shows mostly cheap prices. Isn't really big but I like that because you get a more personal show closer to the stage. I suggest not paying extra for the seats up top, they all looked like they paid extra to watch a party down below at a far. If it's an opera or something like that then yes seats are nice.. But a rock or pop or mostly every other genre, the cheap standing tickets are the way to go!

Had a great time taking our nephews to a concert at the House of Blues. It’s a mid-sized venue with two tiers, a VIP section on the first floor and satellite bars on two walls. The bathrooms were nice and well maintained throughout the concert. Drinks were expensive, but that’s pretty much expected I think. Getting in and out was easy. Although we walked from a hotel and didn’t drive. They had a bag check and recheck area, so heads up.

It's a nice live music venue located on the heart of Houston. What I like best about watching live concerts at this place is I get to see the artists and performances in an up close setting. The only cons I find is that if it's packed with viewers, it's hard to move around the place like going the restroom, buying food, buying drinks, and souvenirs. Other than that, everything is great. There's even a lot of parking options outside. We paid $20 for parking.

The venue had good sound. There are monitors everywhere for those not close to the stage. They offer many types of food. Whatever you want to drink. Marcus King was on fire. The only real downer was the length of the entry line. It did move fast though.

My experience at House of blues has always been pretty good. The sound quality of the bands have been great. The people I meet pretty cool. The workers friendly. And best of all the place has great AC. Outdoor concerts are not cool to me when it's 100° outside.

Saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd, dude shreds that guitar. Venue was great, easy in easy out. Staff were all very helpful. Not to be seated though, tough to find seats in the balcony, lack of signage, but manageable. Love this place.

My only issue here was that the restaurant was closed and the staff outside told us there was no food. We went all over downtown trying to find food and when we got back to the venue we found out they did in fact have food. The show was amazing and our seats were great. The staff was the only issue

I loved this place. It was awesome seeing LP and the venue is just the right size that it doesn't matter where u sit u can see the people on the stage very well. Best concert ever.

Great venue, standing room gets very crowded so if you're not into that, definitely get a balcony seat. Pics from a Black Pumas show in December 2023

I thought it was strange that HOB doesn’t have much coverage on their restaurant food. I thought it was pretty solid. We were there for a concert and arrived an hour before gates opened to grab dinner. Service was a bit slow, and we got nervous overhearing a server apologizing to another table for slow service. However, when the waiter finally came, he was super nice and got our order taken care of expeditiously without us needing to push him. I ordered the smashburger which easily satisfied my burger craving. Patties were cooked well, and not super flat. Juicy and a bit saucy. I decided to replace the fries with corn bread which was ok. My wife wasn’t that hungry, so she ordered a side of gumbo which was a pretty good portion size. She said she liked it. The drink (forgot the name) was the waiter’s favorite alcoholic drink. We were able to line up for the concert upstairs before the hour ended.

We really enjoyed the Ottmar Liebert concert at this venue. However, we did not enjoy or understand why we had to wait out in the cold to enter the venue right before the start time on our ticket. It would have made more sense to let ticketed patrons in early to be warm and enjoy the food and drink while waiting.

What an amazing place to see a band performing. Intimate and close, seeing the Black Pumas there was an amazing experience. I can not wait to see more bands there.

It was not bad. The bartenders are chill and the other workers are cool. The food ain't 5 star restaurant quality but it's something to munch on while u watch a performance

Sammy Hagar and The Circle were awesome. Make sure you bring with you the approved handbag, check the website as I did beforehand and be ready to show proof of vaccination for Covid or a printed copy of a negative Covid test.

I love attending events here. You can come business casual, jeans, or dress up. It's all appropriate and seems natural and easy. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you and safe and feel pampered. There is a very quirky and luxurious feel to the event venue. The photos I am posting are from the far left balcony seats. There is not any bad seating in the venue.

Venue was very clean and spacious. It did not feel stuffy whatsoever at any point of the show (which I was very grateful for). Staff was polite and understanding. Will definitely look forward to seeing other artists play here!

The venue is great. I prefer the balcony seats over SRO. I'm a bourbon girl and the liquor selection sucks. So, that just means that I don't have to spend my money on drinks while enjoying the concert. It's always so much good energy during the concerts.
