MOLDED FOOD. Ordered from this place today through uber eats. I had baked chicken, Mac n cheese, cabbage and vanilla cake. The rice tasted odd, mac n cheese was salty. I couldn't finish the meal. I thought let me try the cake. Well it had literal mold spores on it. Extremely noticeable. There's no way that they could have packaged the cake without seeing it. So not only are they selling old food, they knew it was old and still thought it was a good idea to sell to people. Thankfully uber eats have me a full refund but this place should be in operation. After reading the reviews, there's nothing good about this restaurant.

I can’t believe after all the comments they was right. The name should be the best salt in Houston. This is crazy and beyond unreal. How can one use so much salt for food. Smothered pork chops trash rice and gravy trash and super salty. I never ever in my life had salty macaroni and cheese. I’m scared to try the gumbo this coming Friday. Oh and I added sugar just to eat that much.

The food was salty . I couldn’t really enjoy it . Seem like it would have been okay if they held back on the salt kinda . The customer service was great . Everyone was friendly . The kool aid was very sweet . I’m going to try them again maybe I came on a bad day .

Everything was disgusting, and we ordered 80 dollars worth of food. The macaroni and cheese was Velveeta from the box, the greens were obviously from a can, and the rice was terrible and mushy. The oxtail were the worst I've ever had. We literally couldn't stomach the food, so we tossed everything. The only thing that was decent was the chicken wings, and that's debatable. The woman who answered the phone was really nice and apologized. She offered to give us something else in a week when they re-open. I explained to her that I'm visiting from out of state so I wouldn't be here.

The mc&cheese was delicious and the yams was so good.. the only problem was the oxtails and rice was so salty and now I feel like my blood pressure is too high so this what my plate looked like after it was too salty and this was my first time ordering from these guys I hope they see this to not use so much salt I will be trying them again to see if they care about the customer feedback

I was visiting here from New Orleans with my family. We were looking for a soul food place and picked this place. The food looked really good. The staff here were so welcoming they made us feel like family. They made us feel comfortable asking questions about the menu items which made it so easy to order. When we got the food everything was good to where we were sharing our food with each other because everything taste great. It had so much flavor they checked on us throughout our time. Our compliments to the chef we enjoyed it all. I would recommend this place we weren’t disappointed.

Wow I should had listened to the reviews. MAN! this food was bad, I tell you! I order the 3 meat plate the sides were so salty as hell! I also ordered the new ramen noddle seafood dish the sauce is so salty I couldn't eat it. My mom had the baked potato they gave her burnt meat and it was dry. She went back in and they just put more dry meat on top. This is crazy! My seafood dish was missing things that supposedly came with it and I was mad as we waited awhile for the food. Kool aid was so damn sweet I need to put tons of water to make it drinkable. I can keep going but will stop

The oxtails are tough the potato salad tasted like it was made in a unseasoned grocery store! The only tasty thing was the gravy and rice that came with the oxtails. The yams aren’t bad but they didn’t have soul! I don’t recommend.

Not the Best soul food! Oxtails were tuff, Cornbread was dry and very crumbly, Cabbage was good. Sweet potatoes for them to have came out of a can was not that bad. Oxtails were bland just taste like salt. We will not go back again!

I ordered the shrimp boil and was highly disappointed. I didn't taste any seasoning, the corn wasn't done and the sausage was so tough. I ordered my husband the turkey meal with yams, mustard greens and a side of Mac. Even though I failed to receive the mustard greens, both my husband and I were pleased with everything else. The yams and Mac were delicious.

The lady that has the ponytail looks like she in her 40s maybe 50s is always very nice to me when I come in she helped me tie my bag back I always love the cornbread and cakes the food is good but more importantly I like the customer service… I cant speak on anyone else that work there because she is the one I see each time except one time a young girl was there but they all seem like nice people… I usually order on Uber for myself and pickup

Order. They were quick to respond when out of something. The mac & cheese is boiled, not baked. It's shells, not elbows and they were stuck together. The cheese sauce had some flavor, just not good consistency. The rib sandwich is literally 2 ribs on a bun? Heavy smoke on the ribs, sauce seperate was fair. Taco Salad, portions out of whack. Salsa, cheese and guacamole provided were tasteless. Lettuce and tomato was very fresh. A little more attention in preparation could make them "the best", right now still average.

This is the worst soul food in town. It should be illegal to serve velveeta boxed Mac n cheese at a restaurant.

I’ll start with the positive; the lady who helped me was very kind and friendly. The food, however, was unpleasant. Everything was way too salty- the chicken, the gravy, and the Mac and cheese. The rice was mushy. The Mac and cheese seemingly came from a box, and it seems like they added even more salt to it. The yams were the only good thing on the plate. I think they came from a can, though, and the cook added a little razzle dazzle to them. I was shocked at how bad the food was, and I’m even more surprised to see how high the rating is on here. Very nice staff, though!

I live in Fresno, Tx and the drive here is well worth it every time. Every father's day and birthday, this is my choice to spoil myself with great food and reasonable prices. Love this place.

😭 Not enough parking! The neighborhood is okay 😲There are too many people hanging around at the abandoned building next door.🥺 Try to keep an eye on your belongings in your vehicle. 😩If you don't bother anyone I don't think anyone will bother you 😔

Neighborhood restaurant provides all those home cooked foods your Aunty or Grandma makes every Sunday. Lots of menu options for gumbo, fish, shrimp, meatloaf, chicken, and bbq. We enjoyed fried pork chops, greens, rice and gravy, gumbo. Sweet potato pie, banana pudding, and Kool Aid.

2/10 will not recommend. A waste of $50. The grease needs to be changed. I taste it in the fried and shrimp. The oxtail plate not worth $19, it’s not even enough. The food is salty.

Had the oxtail plate and two sides . Oxtail were tough rice and gravy ok cabbage tasted off and the yams tasted like they were out of a can. Very disappointed paid to much money not to enjoy. Don't think I will be eating here again.
