Beautiful and peaceful even in Extreme Heat! We parked in the parking lot next to the entrance to get to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It was quite a walk in extreme heat but this garden made it a little more bearable along the way! There is a pavilion with chairs where one could sit down and enjoy the view. I imagine early in the morning or late afternoon would be a very nice place to walk. Bring sunscreen and water in the summer!

It is a wonderful garden with so many statues and beautiful flowering plants and little walking trails. I’m glad that they are constantly updating and improving the park. The middle part of the park lacks shaded trees so a hard walk during hot days. Definitely check it out.

I didn't even know this Garden was there, so happy to stumble upon it walking around in the area. I had 45 minutes on my meter so I went in, only bummer was my phone was about to die and it started raining. There were more beautiful areas of the garden and a cool waterfall, but rain and dying phone prevented me from taking more pictures. Will definitely go again with my girlfriend when it's a clear day. I really didn't mind the rain, though! Peace out!

Lovely garden area located in/near Hermann Park and near the natural science museum. The big observation mound is there with a lovely water feature and plenty of seating around. Rose garden is near by as well with beautiful Asian inspired pagoda. You have to exit on the ends so it forces you to walk its entirety and there is a cafe at one end. Lots of wedding parties out taking photos and couple doing photo shoots.

We were here about 3 hours and did not get to see everything, granted we did the paddle boating for an hour lol. I don’t know if I would do that in the summertime, but this entire park is just breathtaking. Bring nuts and breads for the animals! The squirrels are HUGE!! 5lbs easy! The ducks and geese and swans are all very friendly! They will ea out of your hands. This is somewhere you have to bring the kids!

Nice Garden that's a part of the collection at Hermann Park. Came on an early Sunday morning, it was very quiet and not crowded at all. You enter to a nice set of head sculptures before arriving to the Mount. The Mount is a nice spiral walk up a little hill that has a waterfall until you reach the top. Once at the top, you have a nice view of the Garden, but also of other parts of Hermann Park. The Garden had a nice vegetable and flower garden you could casually walk around. There is also a pavilion where looks like they offer free classes to the public. This was a nice free Garden to see how to properly grow various vegetables and flowers.

Beautiful Garden throughout the year! Especially fall and springs are my favorite season to visit there as the weather smooths my comfortability! :) I like the spiral tower where I can see the garden from the top! Many weddings are taken place from this garden and it’s just lovely! Highly recommended ☺️ Come and cheers 🥂

A great and beautiful place to visit. Open to the public and free. Visited after going the the Natural science museum right next door so it’s a great stop. They also have free 3 hour parking which is a bonus so you can avoid paying for parking and visit the museum. They have chairs and shaded area near the parking lot entrance which provides a great place to relax and take in the view.

A magical botanical garden in the heart of the museum district. An oasis of cal, with a mound offering 360 degree views of the gardens below. The symmetrical plantings along the water feature are a must see. The use of different plants and grasses will make this a spot to revisit and watch the seasons change.

This place is so beautiful! Definitely everyone needs to come here at least once. This place is great if you just want to have a walk, great for pictures! Note tho that if you’re specifically coming only for pictures with a professional photographer, ur photographer needs a permit otherwise if it’s just for you and personal use you should be good 👍🏽, continuing though you can also have picnics here, come walk your dog on leash ofc, or just have a seat and take everything in on their chairs and tables they have in the entrance. The scenery here is amazing the flowers are beautiful and you will get to see cool birds, butterfly’s. Definitely 5 starts.

Central Houston Garden commemorating Herman’s Park’s centennial in 2014. Visitors can explore a variety of themed gardens along the central lawn with the Mount and Science Museum in the backdrop.

This park sits across the street from the Houston Natural Science Museum. Outside the Garden was a cart selling ice cream and parking. As seen in the photos the garden is beautifully landscaped and there is plenty of seating to sit and enjoy in different spots throughout the garden. Lots of spots to sit and eat a meal in fact there are even tables, vending machines and restrooms on the far end of the garden. A lot of the garden is in the open sun but there are many shady areas to help stay cool. The fountains and other water elements are gorgeous and relaxing to watch. This garden would be a great place photos.

Very nice park, with a great view at the top.. Great to have a picnic, and take the family. Might be a bit crowded just because it's right next to the museum and on a pretty day you'll see people taking photos. Tons of events nearby.. The day we went was a Saturday after our trip to the museum of natural science but the park was currently setting up for a wedding there. Id definitely recommend anyone to come and check out this park..

Beautiful Garden park next to the HMNS. Good place to stop in, a lot of good photo ops, places to sit and statues on the west side of people who influenced our history. It's a good place to find some shade and have a chat. Also there is a fair amount of parking at the entrance.

The park was so beautiful and the staff was friendly. My daughter was curious what one of the people was doing and the worker explained to her how they grow their plants. I’m sad the fountain wasn’t on when we went but it was still all so beautiful to walk around and see. There are some fruit and vegetable gardens that were so awesome to look at I highly recommend checking this place out!

I’m not sure why not many local people suggest visiting this place. It’s quite beautiful and you can certainly make a day out of it walking around the place with lots of flowers and plants and small gardens (Japanese garden) nearby. Definitely would recommend visiting this place if you are in Houston

This park has so much to do and explore! Absolutely amazing beautiful!! Great upkeep with all the workers. Flowers smell so good and just beautiful. Would totally recommend coming by and see this place if you are from out of town. Would be beautiful to eat and have a meal looking at the water.

As you can tell by the attached photos, this place is absolutely gorgeous! There are so many different colors, sounds, smells, trails, and places to explore. This is home to several statues of people who have had an influence on making Houston what it is today. I saw people who were sightseeing, some were using the trails to exercise, some were sitting under the cool breezy pavilion on their laptop or reading a book, several were walking from statue to statue reading the inscriptions. This a great place to bring a date, or even to propose! McGovern Centennial Gardens has become one of my favorite go-to places in Houston! #mcgoverncentennialgardens #Statues #Waterfountains #Romance

Wow! I went here in the Summer, and it is a beautiful garden! I would recommend this for any family looking for an inexpensive outing. I can't wait to see it in the Spring! This is one of Houston's greatest public gardens.

This is such a great space to explore with so many different types of garden, thoughtful and inspirational. I love the grand old live oak beside the arid plantings and the sculptures throughout, the refreshing water features and the multitude of spots to reflect and relax.

If you love plants, this is the place for you. It’s one of my favorites in Houston and where we bring our guests. The gardens are beautiful, peaceful, and packed with flowers and plants to explore. There’s a rose garden, an arid garden with agaves and yuccas, and even a veggie/herb garden. We love strolling around and identifying new varieties. It’s dog friendly too with a pup watering station by the arid garden. Even in the blistering summer heat, the garden is worth checking out. Best of all, entrance is free!

I officiated a wedding here - beautiful location. Wedding venue is perfect for a small to moderate size wedding. The grounds are pristine.

Such a great spot for walking around, lounging, and just being in nature. The grounds are well kept, and it’s generally not too crowded. Professional photographers require permits, so you get to enjoy the gardens without too much distraction from people overusing the nature there. Lots of side paths and many gazebos to explore as well.

The park is located in the museum district and across from one of public garages. It’s a pretty place for a walk and has nice plants and statues of prominent people including Dr. King and Mahatma Ghandi. Very nice!

As a Wedding Planner and Designer with Unveiled Bliss, I am so inspired by their Celebration Garden for a ceremony or reception. Imagine being surrounded by nature and forgetting you are in the heart of the city. Gretchen was easy to work with and we cannot wait to come back.
