This place kinda sucked to be honest. Super small. Would not recommend. It's $25 to get in plus if you want to see any attractions they charge an extra fee. Parking is also $15. The highlight of the place is a white tiger...yes a white tiger at the aquarium is the highlight. If you're doing city pass Id definitely do another option.

We had a great time at the aquarium. It was a beautiful day and there weren't many people. They have amazing exhibitions. Our favorite was the one with the sharks and the tiger. You have to take the little train to be able to see the sharks so that's a nice and different experience. The whole area was clean and the animals looked well taken care of. I'll definitely would go back.

Had a lovely time visiting the aquarium in Houston. Always interesting to see a different city’s take on aquatic life. The exhibits were nice but the restaurant was GREAT! Beautiful human size fish tank as a view. We got to see the fish get fed and the feeders performed some acrobatics for our viewing pleasure. The gumbo was a bit watery but delicious and the risotto was very good. Had to come home and make it too. The rides were nice and I was happy to see they were for both children and adults. Worth a visit if you are in the Houston area.

"The Houston Aquarium, despite being small, offers an unforgettable experience. It is well organized and laid out, making it ideal for visiting with children. In addition, it has accessible and affordable parking, which is convenient when being in downtown Houston, thus avoiding the worry of leaving the car far away. The aquarium environment allows you to appreciate a variety of species native to the Texas Gulf, including fish, arachnids and reptiles, all carefully placed in compartments that simulate their natural habitat. We loved the experience of riding the train and watching the sharks and the impressive sawfish; Our baby was fascinated. In addition, the aquarium has a souvenir shop with affordable prices to take home a souvenir. We decided to pay to enjoy the rides and attractions, and were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and politeness of the staff, some of whom speak Spanish. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the restaurant, which offers beautiful views of the aquarium. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious; We highlight the crocodile dish and the homemade soup, which left us with water in our mouths. Regarding the comments about the tiger, it is true that it is caged outside its natural habitat, but it is evident that it receives adequate care. It would be positive to reflect on how to contribute positive feedback to improve and expand the tiger's quality of life, perhaps by providing companionship or considering its history as being rescued from a circus. In short, we were delighted with our visit to the Houston Aquarium and recommend it 100%. It is a worthwhile experience

So much fun, and very educational. Went for my birthday, and bought the all day adventure pass (best value for sure! Highly recommend!) It was so nice being able to see all the exhibits, and ride all the rides as much as we wanted! My inner child and outer adult was very pleased!

Fun place for an at most half-day experience. Was there for 2 1/2 hours with an all-day pass. I highly recommend getting the all-day pass if you have children under the age of 10. There's several kid rides and their most popular is the shark train. That was very fun. The stingray reef is fun too. You get to pet the stingrays and even feed them (pay some $) if you want. There are clear posted instructions and staff on hand to guide you on proper feeding. Parking is a bit pricey (self-park $15) but there's plenty of space.

My wife and I visited here recently after reading several reviews. We were surprised that the reviews were more accurate than we had expected. While there were several families visiting when we did it still wasn't terribly crowded. We could enjoy all the exhibits and didn't have any problems viewing the fish and tigers. Unfortunately, due to the weather we were unable to see the shark exhibit. We also didn't get to feed the stingrays due to it being very busy with families. Overall we had an enjoyable time and would consider visiting again.

The first time I went here I was a lot younger and I forgot how incredible it was. One thing that catches you off guard is the fact that they have a tiger there. You don't really expect to see a tiger in an aquarium. The exhibit was really cool and so are the rides. They have a restaurant upstairs and they literally have some of the best seafood in Houston. If you are new to the city this is definitely a place to check out. This is one of Houston’s tourist attractions right in the heart of the city. This place is cool to take anyone: family, children, a date or for visitors who would like to see the city. The Ferris wheel ride shows you a great view of downtown Houston. That is what I love most about it.

I had the pleasure of visiting the aquarium while on vacation. It cost around $17 to tour the inside. To explore the outside rides and activities, it costs more. They don't offer a military discount. The layout is well designed, and they even offer a restaurant on the 3rd floor. It also includes a bar. I didn't eat here, though. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. I just wish the inside was bigger and featured more to offer to guests. However, I would still recommend visiting.

The best way to put this this out there is that my wife didn't care or want to go to no stinking aquarium. The funny part is we walk in and in no time she was taking pictures and video. She loved it. Me, I always have loved the aquariums and owned reef tanks and freshwater tanks all my life. The place is not huge but it's worth seeing!

Great spot for the entire family. Visiting from out of town and you will spend extra money buying other things. My family loved seeing the fishes, tigers and feeding the sting ray. The best part is you’ll ride a train and go through a shark tunnel. Very informative and I have never seen a saw shark in person before. So seeing that magnificent sea creature was a treat. While we were there, divers were making sure tanks are clean and keeping it nice. I recommend taking swim clothes and a towel for the kiddos who want to play in the splash pad.

I planned a Sweet 16 birthday party for my daughter. Aquarium does not offer birthday packages for older teens, the first time I emailed and inquired I was told that I would just have to reserve a table and buy tickets for the girls to experience the exhibit and amusement park. That response felt kind of cold and I felt brushed off. I really wanted to have her party there so I decided to call. I ended up talking to Nayeli Garcia, a sales coordinator and she was able to answer all my questions and help me coordinate something special for my daughter. Her party including herself was for 7 girls and I asked for a separate adult table for 4. Nayeli understood exactly what I wanted. She told me she would reserve one of the best tables in front of the Fish aquarium for my daughter and her friends and put me and my husband’s table of four near by. I asked about a pre set menu for the girls. She showed me their pre set menus, I made a choice and she offered to make specialized menus with Jasmine’s sweet sixteen birthday menu on it. I was very happy about that. I also let her know that I wanted to do the all inclusive wristbands for the amusement park and exhibit for all kids and adults. She said since it was over 10 people she could offer me a group rate. She sent me over a contract for everything which I agreed to. My party reservation was confirmed. I called a day in advance just to confirm. The girls were driven to Aquarium restaurant via stretch limo. Everything seems fine until we tried to check in. We were told to go upstairs to the hostess stand where the hostesses seemed confused about us have a reserved tables. We were led to a table of 11 chairs to the side front of the fish aquarium. I told the waitress, I think her name was Sandra that we were working with Nayeli and requested a table for 7 in front of the fish tank and a separate table for adults for 4 nearby. She apologized and said Nayeli wasn’t there and she had no knowledge. I asked could the seven girls take the table they had set up for 11 and I was told no. I was not happy because not only what I was promised by Nayeli was not being honored but to be told no when she offered me the table for 7. Anyway, I had to back off and the waitress sat the girls in a back booth away from the aquarium. We were sat at a random table. No one knew where the Personalized menus that Nayeli sent me a copy of. They started passing out full menus which I took up immediately. It took several minutes someone found the Personalized menus. This whole process so far stressful. The restaurant manager should have been in charge of taking care of all the details for our party in Nayeli’s absence. Once we were finished eating and went to get the tickets for the amusement park and exhibits, once again I had to wait for the ticket booth guy to get a manager. I had it in writing that we would get the group rate of $18.99 per person because we bought over 10 tickets. I had to show the email with the contract stating the price and group rate agreement to the ticket guy and again to the manager and finally they honored the price. It was almost like no one knew we were coming. Our reservation was for 1:30p in the afternoon. It was not even busy so I was confused. After we got our tickets and went to the exhibit, everything seemed fine. I was a little confused that there were no what tigers anymore . White tigers are advertised but not there just one regular brown tiger. The amusement park is not worth the $18.99 discounted group rate. The girls were only able to ride the lighthouse ride and the train. There is literally nothing else to do for teenagers other than spend more $ on games. Would I recommend after all the confusion? No. I’m not upset anymore just disappointed. We spent a lot of $ and no one even called after to see how our party was.You would think if you worked with a sales coordinator, even if she was not there the day of the party, that she would follow up to make sure everything was ok.

You could literally spend all day here! We would recommend the all day pass because you can do the attractions as many times as you'd like, which is great for a 4 year old-ha! The sharks, stingrays, fish, TIGERS, rides....everything was fantastic! FYI to the parents there's a small splash pad so bring extra clothes if needed. The staff were all super nice and friendly! Definitely would recommend!

My favorite part of the Aquarium is the stingray exhibit! You can gently touch (or pet) the stingrays and feel their rubbery, slick, soft body. They are fascinating to watch. I was shocked at how very fast they can swim when they want to! Another favorite spot is the tiger exhibit. They seem so very docile, sweet and laid back when you are looking at them through the glass. If it weren’t for the documentaries that I have seen, I would want to go inside and pet them. They are the very definition of “looks can be deceiving” but I love them so much. I really enjoyed all of the exhibits. It’s been a while since I have been, but they used to have a large octopus that I enjoyed watching. I was disappointed that it wasn’t there this time, but it’s possible that I just overlooked it?? I think this aquarium is definitely worth visiting as they have done a great job with the exhibits. I think this would be a great place to take a date, and definitely a great day out with the family!

Me and the family went here after ice skating in Downtown Houston. Valet parking was $10 and they were friendly. There was no wait and the food was great. The kids also did the ferris wheel 🎡. They have a little carnival that you would also love. Staff was great and I definitely recommend going with your family.

Went on a date there. The service was great, the food was amazing. Eating dinner next to a giant aquarium with blue lighting everywhere was a nice ambiance. My girlfriend and I both had the steak and shrimp and were quite surprised by all the great flavors from everything on the plate. Afterwards we took the train through the shark tank, and it was cool to see the teeth of the sharks swimming around us.

The exhibit wasn't that long, bt definitely long enough. Very informative. The ride attendants are nice and Friendly. I'm rating it 3 stars because the food is overpriced, for it to taste the way it does. I recommend the Watermelon Lit. It's $14 with a souvenir glass, 11 without one. The rides are cheap and fun.

For a local aquarium, I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean environment. It was nice to be able to interact with the stingrays. The train ride through the Shark tank was a nice bonus. The only down side was I was unable to see the big cats due to the viewing window being fairly small compared to the amount of people (mostly small children) present.

It was a great experience! We got there at noon left at 6p. He did a lot of fun things like touch and feed the stingray’s. Suggestions Pay online and wait at VIP line to get in faster, bring a cheap stroll so you can move in between the crowds. There’s a small splash park to cool the kids off

The Houston Aquarium is such a unique and fun experience, a must see inside and out! With stunning views of the city, an outdoor adventure park, a restaurant completely surrounded by fish and the must do; a train ride through the shark tunnel! The aquarium is such a unique and fun experience for the whole family! The all-day pass was perfect for a small group with young kids. Plenty of family activities such as feeding the stingrays or carnival games and rides. Location and parking was convenient and even during the weekend we felt like the aquarium had plenty of space to see each exhibit. We're looking forward to our next visit.

The aquarium is very small. Best exhibits are the stingray pool and the tiger. If it was not for the rides in the back, I would have felt ripped off at $28 a person. The kids enjoyed everything. The atmosphere was good and the alcohol was a redeeming feature.

If you are looking for something simple to do take a walk through shark reef. Small groups sent in, with some social distancing happening. You can see everything up close. The jellyfish were so mesmerizing. One of the female employees there was very knowledgeable about everything. See if you can find the octopus!! I would have never known he was there had she not pointed him out lol.

Wow!!! I had the most amazing time today with my husband and my two daughters here at the Aquarium Downtown. I am very much into sea exploration and absolutely love sea creatures, so this was the perfect day in my opinion! I was so impressed by how much this place has to offer. There is so much to see here! We saw all different types of fish, jellies, eels, snakes, spiders, alligators and....SHARKS!! We got to get up close and personal with the sting rays as well! This particular time we were fortunate enough to see the rare beauty of the majestic white tiger 🐯. This baby takes my breath away! Such an amazing and beautiful animal. I could watch from a distance all day! We bought the day pass so we were able to see, ride and experience all the aquarium has to offer as many times as we desired. We road all of the rides including the kiddy rides! I am looking forward to the next time I can enjoy this truly spectacular place!

This was one of the stops for our family vacation. Houston offers many great attractions and the Downtown Aquarium is most definitely a fantastic place filled with rides, vendors, and games. Be sure to take the opportunity to visit their main attraction which is the Aquarium which is filled with a plethora or underwater creatures that will amaze Children and adults alike. The Aquarium also provides a fabulous dining experience where you have the perfect view of marine life from the comfort of your own table!!!

Pretty fun experience. I found this is more of an experience for kids than adults. There are a few fun rides that my kids really enjoyed. The exhibit itself was pretty small compared to other aquariums I’ve visited. The stingray reef was my favorite part of our visit. Feeding and petting the stingrays was such an amazing experience. It was so worth the cost. We got all day passes and we took advantage and got on all the rides, walked through the exhibit twice. The train ride was so fun! I was a little bummed at first about not being able to see any sharks but the train ride takes you through a tunnel where all the sharks are. It was beautiful. This was such a fun family experience, I’d highly recommend for anyone to take their kids for a day!

Aquarium is very small for the price you pay. We had a city pass, and we needed to pay extra for shark train, which should be a part of Aquarium. We went through for less than 30 min. My daughter liked they animal talks ( which is free) and tiger's room.

The aquarium was very small. The best part was seeing the tiger at the end. The parking fee is $15 a person plus tickets for each member of the family. Stopped by the restaurant on the way out, and the giant fish tank there actually looked nicer than any fish tanks in the aquarium itself. It is worth a visit if you have small children as the rides are included in the all day pass.

This is a wonderful place to spend a day out with the family. It does seem to cater to elementary aged children. My middle schooler enjoyed himself, but was not overly amused. Go during the week to have endless access to the rides. The train ride is nice, but short, so don’t be dismayed by a line. It moves quickly. I deducted stars because the concession stands weren’t open. Other than that, no complaints. The stingray experience was cool, the tiger was asleep, my kids got shark cups, I got a glass, and we took plenty of pics for memories.

Small aquarium but really fun. The restaurant and the rides are great too. Went on a Saturday evening and it was not too crowded, we even got to be the last ride of the night on the merry go round. Nice views of the city lights. 👍

THIS IS ONLY FOR THE AQUARIUM RESTAURANT: The staff and customer service is one of the best in town and the food is excellent giving you large portions without sacrificing quality. We didn't realize it was HRW but were so excited when we realized it was! The top sirloin and stuffed flounder were amazing, some of the best I've had in a long time. We also got the strawberry shortcake and another chocolate-y cake that was pure heaven. The calamari also has artichokes and sweet potatoes. The seafood gumbo was slightly salty but still delicious. We had a GREAT time. THIS IS FOR THE RIDES: The Lighthouse Dive was closed down "due to weather conditions", but the weather that day was SPECTACULAR, probably the best weather of the year so far. It was a huge disappointment, to say the least. The self-parking is $8.

I am not gonna lie, this is the worse aquarium I have ever been to. There are only few tanks of fish, a white tiger, a fish touching experience and some rides. We went there on weekdays, all the rides are closed except the train ride is open but is less than 3 mins ride. It cost way too much for less than an hour visit. The parking cost $8 and full day package cost !19.99 is way too expensive for what we get.

We had a great time. Our son is in a wheelchair and there's ramps all over the establishment for easy access. They have a train that is also wheelchair accessible. Overall experience for us and our son was great! I would've given it 5 stars if most of their rides were wheelchair accessible. But other than that. We had a great time.

Nice, cool aquarium in the heart of downtown Houston. We enjoyed it. A little different type of experience because of the cool Ferris 🎡wheel outside that overlooks the city when you're at the apex of it. A cool little half of the day, couple hours type thing to do with the kids if you don't want to be out all day. Nice selection of aquatic fish and the sting ray touch tank was very enjoyable.

Nice little aquarium. Very kid friendly, with much to see and do. They have a restaurant and a small carnival area too. Really loved the tigers, with some in an outdoor compound, and white tigers inside. We got lucky and arrived at feeding time (around 2:00) and got to see the tigers really happy and digging in. Then we visited the ray exhibit, where you can touch and feed them (for a fee). Our 13 year old was happy, and my wife and I weren't bored either! We used a Citypass for our ticket, you can add the carnival rides at the box office.

Not a very big place. You can see and do all there is inside 2 hours. A bit silly buying a ticket just for ba portion of the aquarium. The train ride starts off great then goes through a parking lot. Still fun and did not regret going just don't expect to be blown away.

Interesting to visit. Kids enjoyed the train ride to the shark enclosure and petting and feeding the stingrays. We felt several of the tanks were small for the fish in them with made my animal living daughter sad (especially the large fish that could barely move around). Found a good deal on Groupon with made it less costly.

Honestly the experience was NOT worth $75 ( 1 adult and 2 kids all day attraction) The aquarium itself took us 25-35 minutes, and we walked slowly. The train ride was fun for the kids. But nothing exciting except the shark cave. The 5 attractions they have there are also not $75.00 It is a beautiful place all around.

Was honestly really disappointed. The dallas world aquarium is amazing and this place was very small and took no time to walk through. It seemed like there was a pay wall for every little thing to do. Worth it for small children, for the aquarium enthusiasts there are a ton of better options in the state

My review is for the restaurant 🍽️. This was my sons and I first time eating here and we truly enjoyed ourselves! When making our reservation online, I mentioned being seated in front of the aquarium tank since this was our first visit to the restaurant. We arrived about 25 minutes prior to our 2pm reservation. There was no wait! The host was friendly! And guess what?! We got a great table in front of the aquarium tank!!! What a beautiful view to see sharks, stingrays and many fishes swim around while dining! 🐟 🐠 🦈 Our waitress name was Jasmine! She was awesome!!!!! Super friendly and sweet! She recommended the Cajun pasta - it was DELICIOUS! 10/10😋🍽️‼️ Another plus, the restrooms were clean! My family will definitely be back!

Very cool experience. Restaurant was particularly good for what I expected. Lots of nifty things to do. The train under the shark aquarium was something my little fella will remember. Many interesting sea creatures with informative information along the way. A white tiger lunged at us while we were viewing her. Would be nice to have a more inclusive package rather than a bit of nickel-and-diming, but I get that. One thing that really would have been nice was if there was a discount for people who showed up an hour before close to not have to pay the full day pass price. Girl at the ticketing could have been friendlier, but I know good help is tough these days. Great fun overall. Would recommend.

Venturing out with a 2yr old always carries 'risks', I'm glad we decided to visit the Aquarium however. We all enjoyed ourselves and there's enough scenery and things to do that will capture and hold virtually anyone's attention. This was my 3rd time to eat at an Aquarium and despite the menu having a bit less to offer than pre-Covid, everything tasted great. Louis our server was knowledgeable, patient and prompt with service. Thank you!

So years ago, I heard their food was not delicious so I was very skeptical. Me and my family went last night and everything was nice. I had the fried seafood platter and it was really good, my husband hand the Louisiana pasta and it was cool could have had a bit more season but we can’t complain. The scenery was beautiful, we even took the kids to the store and let them grab a souvenir. Great experience I’ll def go back.

I think my expectation with the aquarium was high before i visited it, that is the reason behind a three star rating. Overall the experience was good. I visited with my family and we enjoyed feeding the Stingrays. Secondly, after the lockdown due to pandemic i have started to see what the animals in the cage feels, that's when i sympathize with the alone white tiger, although the aquarium is taking a good care of the tiger. I will suggest visitor to park their car in some free spot and walk rather than paying 8$, coz we took a little more than 1 hour and had to pay that much.

  • 4/5 Chelsea L. 3 years ago on Google
The Aquarium was good. It's a short exhibit but there's fish, reptiles, spiders, frogs, white tigers, sharks, and stingrays. My favorite thing was getting to touch the stingrays! So cool!!! I would go back just to do that again! The restaurant is decent. Over-priced is an understatement. A regular burger was $16. I wouldn't eat there again on price alone. The shark train ride is informative and a neat experience but is pretty short. The gift shop is small and geared mainly towards kids - which is understandable, but disappointing. Overall, I'm glad that I went and I had a fun time.

  • 5/5 Edge U. 3 years ago on Google
Great place to take your kiddos!! My 5 year old had a blast seeing all the different species of fish. She loved the train ride as well. It was a bummer that the ferris wheel wasn’t in operation along with a few of the other rides!! The $8 parking was a bummer too, but it was for my kid so it was all worth it.

  • 4/5 GG 3 years ago on Google
A great place to bring the family! We purchased a Meet and Greet with the reptiles, it was $150 (20-30 mins) and we also purchased 2 tote bags that were $20 each. My kids and I I got to meet a turtle and a lizard and towards the end we got to pet them. I wish there were more goodies in the tote bags other than one painting and 6 animal cards 🙄 but the kids enjoyed it. The Meet and Greet reservation does not include admission.

  • 4/5 Samantha S. 3 years ago on Google
The facility was extremely clean! The staff did a great job of disinfecting the equipment between uses. The animals were fantastic and the enclosures appeared to be very well kept up. The restaurant is quite overpriced though. $16 for a cheeseburger is a bit much. The Sangria was delicious and the fries were good(a bit salty) but good.

  • 4/5 Richie N. 3 years ago on Google
A really well done museum. Exhibits are well maintained and a good mix of items for kids to adults. Definitely a destination. The downsides are the place is quite expensive (but not out of line with what top notch museums are charging these days), it is located in a park not designed for a lot of vehicle traffic so driving on a busy day to the facility is a nightmare, and at peak times, the place is jammed with people (a sign of its popularity). None of the downsides should be deterrents, just things to be aware of and/or to plan for/around.

  • 5/5 The masked T. 3 years ago on Google
Awesome place to take your kind. I valet. It made sense as it was a couple dollars different. Exhibits were great. Social distancing measures are in effect but not necessarily going to work without making guest count kept to a minimum. I purchased the ticket for the entire experience and I loved it.

  • 4/5 Nat S. 3 years ago on Google
The aquarium is small, we spent 40 minutes on inspection. It is convenient to walk with small children, everything is close. Beautiful design, sounds. An interesting episode - riding the train, unusual. In addition, there are added attractions (open on weekends for an additional fee), two entertainments in one place.

They have massive fish in such small enclosures. It is inhumane. Do not support them. They say that there are tubes for the fish to go to the main tank. This is at least not true for all of them.

  • 3/5 Ulyses Y. 3 years ago on Google
Let's start with the pros. It's in downtown houston and has great views of the skyline. The exhibits are clean and attractive. The stingrays are fun to touch and the entire complex is very clean and modern looking. Cons. The collection is painfully average and NOT worth the price of admission. The rides appear to be the center of attention rather than the animals and that subsequently makes the aquarium itself feel like an afterthought. The restaurant is more impressive than the aquarium, you have to pay extra to go on every ride and even see the sharks. Overall it's not bad per se but it's also not worth the price of admission. For a place that charges more than the houston zoo for the full pass yet has a collection 1/30th that of the zoo, it is not worth it.

Really wasn't crazy about the aquarium. I think its over priced. The exhibit itself is very small and you have to pay extra for parking in addition to train tickets. Bought three things my kids really wanted and it was almost $60. Glad we bought the city pass and didn't have to pay for admission here.

Neat. The stingray tank is the best part of the aquarium, but the actual aquarium itself is really small. Not sure it’s worth the money.

  • 2/5 Rusbelina L. 3 years ago on Google
The animals are in small spaces, specially the tiger. Why a Tiger on an aquarium!? POOR social distancing, some employees not wearing a mask and some other using it on the chin. In the rides they seem to enforce the distance and they do clean between riders but lots of people inside the buildings at the same time without someone controlling the flow or promoting mask use.

  • 1/5 Josh W. 3 years ago on Google
Definitely not a real a real aquarium, more like a tourist trap using animals for profit.

Fun place to visit and see the wonders of nature. Friendly and warm building with floating seahorses and quirky colorful fish plus all kinds of exotic coral and even stingrays. The butterfly house is filled with flora and trees and flying huge colorful butterflies and moths hover and dart all around. The best part for me was talking with the knowledgeable and friendly staff and volunteers. Well, that and the immersive fish tank. 😉

  • 5/5 kellie L. 3 years ago on Google
We were in the area for my husband's eye surgery and I brought my daughter here to kill time while we were waiting for him. We literally had the place to ourselves the 3 staff/volunteers to so friendly. Carl is the aquarium was super knowledgable and great to talk with! The butterflies were amazing to walk amongst it was nice to spend some time in a warm tropical environment.

  • 5/5 Chris 3 years ago on Google
Very fun place to take the whole family. Pretty small aquarium but still very fun and interactive. The aquarium does have some sting rays and small sharks that you can "pet" which is always fun. Then the butterfly house is a good size with many varied breeds of butterflies and more then just butterflies in there. Other animals include turtles and if in not wrong quails. Definitely recommend.

  • 5/5 Jackie D. 3 years ago on Google
This place is AWESOME! The BUTTERFLY EXHIBIT truly takes the gold star 🌟 We spent two hours in here and we still didn't find and classify every species on their information posters! This was a blast! Be sure to buy the NECTER FEEDERS! It's 100 percent worth it! Now, for the aquarium during Covid, the touch tanks are closed, so the aquarium seemed very lackluster. When the sea "plants" touch tank and the stingray touch tank are open again the aquarium will be much more worthwhile.

  • 4/5 Azeem S. 3 years ago on Google

  • 4/5 Dan & A. 3 years ago on Google
Our first time to a butterfly house and it was beyond our expectations! It's hard to imagine hundreds of butterflies flying around you until it's really happening. We met a wonderful lady named Betty in the butterfly area who you could tell loved her job and we certainly enjoyed talking to her about butterflies and more. The aquarium was so-so and may have been more impressive if the touch pools were open, but they were shut down due to Covid. Don't let that stop you from atleast going to see the butferflies though.

  • 4/5 Kate T. 3 years ago on Google
It was a wonderful way to spend an hour. Butterfly house and staff were amazing! The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is because two of the exhibits are closed due to covid (where you can touch the manta rays and other sea life). Given the size of the house, it was probably 10% of the aquarium.

This is a pretty cool aquarium experience on the strip in Las Vegas. With cover restrictions in place you'll need to make your reservations online. The animals were interesting and the layout of the aquariums allowed us to see the animals from different perspectives. Depending on where you were in the aquarium you could look down on the fish or you could be looking up to the fish from below. The gift shop at the end of the tour had a great selection of marine animal toys and gifts.

This Aquarium is over priced for the value. It is very short and does not have a lot of exhibits. If you have been to Disney world, sea world or the Georgia aquarium. Save your money you will not be impressed. If you never been to a aquarium then you will prob like it. But for how small it is for the price you could do other things like the titanic that’s more worth the money. We were all disappointed.

There are some pirahanas, some rays, some sharks, and various fish. They also have a komodo dragon and some other reptiles. They are visible, and there are some signs. It is like they cut 20% out of a zoo/aquarium and dropped it into a casino. If you want that, you'll get it.

So much fun for kids!!! It literally only takes 10 min to walk through however your alloted 30 min to explore. You get to see sharks and other fish and reptiles. There are no aquatic mammals like dolphins, seals or otters.

Cool aquariums and displays. Have to pay for parking ($8). Place looked clean and nice bathrooms. Restaurant looked nice and may try in the future. Not a whole to see but whats there is nice. All rides were closed due to weather when i went but that would add to more time there and things to do.I would add to your list of places to go.

  • 4/5 Riaj J. 2 years ago on Google
Kids will love this place. Has a few rides too. all day plan $23.99 per person. Needs 1.5 hour to cover all. Closes at 10.00 pm.

  • 4/5 Catalina W. 2 years ago on Google
Staff was friendly but wasn’t all worth the money. Took 15 minutes max to walk through the exhibits, not a lot to see there. The shark exhibit is definitely the best! You are also able to pet the sting rays.

  • 5/5 Ashley B. 2 years ago on Google
Awesome rides and games in the outdoors-area, inside pet sting rays and explore a wide range of aquatic animals. And the best part for me was the restaurant and cocktails!!!Cool place to spend the day with family or on a first date

Get the all day pass, you won't regret it! It's definitely the best deal. It was so much fun and the flat rate parking is the best deal in town. Make sure you bring some money to buy food for feeding the sting rays. That was definitely the best part of the visit.

Worth getting day pass to ride shark experience train and see the sting rays.

  • 5/5 Cynthia G. 2 years ago on Google

We go there more for sentimental reasons now. We both love the carousel and going through the exhibit. We have been there so many times and the food at the restaurant is always delicious it makes you want to come back for more.

It’s great to kill an hour downtown. Don’t worry about buying tickets online to skip the line because you still have to get in line. They do have military discount at the counter but I bought my tickets online and missed out. Now if you have planed to spend the day downtown and need to kill an hour this fish bowl is the place to go. If you just want to see the aquarium you best just go to moody gardens and spend the whole day there. As I mentioned this place is great if you have an hour to kill while already downtown. It is small, cramped, and be weary about others who may have offensive BO. The best part about visiting this fish bowl was seeing my kids face seeing fish for the first time. Me on the other hand was trying to avoid this place just by judging it from the outside and I was right. I didn’t give it the rating that matches my experience because I’ve been to LARGE aquariums in VA,FL,GA, Europe, and Dubai more than once.

The farirs wheel was really fun and the sky drop was a trill the shark train sacred me so much the baby rides they have my younger cousin thought the we're really fun the game we didn't get to play but next to the splash park park was a hurricane simulator and the tiger were also pretty cool

  • 4/5 Mel C. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty cool Aquarium with a train ride to see the sharks was cool. The Stingray feeding and petting pond was cool. The rays are anxious for attention was cute. The tigers. The albino and non albino Bengals were awesome to see. The general mini carnival feel on the outside was fun also. A great time for families.

  • 5/5 Marco Z. 2 years ago on Google
Good place to go when visiting Houston. The train ride is well worth the wait and only way to see the sharks. About 10min wait for us. The aquarium did feel a bit small/short, but the tickets are fairly priced. At end we fed the stinrays for 2.99 per feeding pack(2small fish). We went there 2 hours before closing, but next time we will get the all day pass and go a bit earlier.

  • 5/5 Denyse R. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing!! We had a great time. Loved the train ride, we got to feed and pet the sting rays. Nice atmosphere and Great Customer Service. Recommend taking your family for a day of fun , and a nice dinner dinner surrounded by beautiful aquarium.

Under the Sea!! We had an amazing time at the Aquarium. We purchased our tickets online which is best. The best time to go is early morning as soon as they open. When we got there it wasn't crowed at all. Parking was great as well. The kids really enjoyed the tiger. He was just waking up when we got to his exhibit which was awesome. We also did the train ride which was really awesome. The kids really enjoyed it. We also rode a free rides and played a few games. The food and drinks are alittle expensive so I suggest you bring your own water and such.

  • 5/5 Ahmed Harb R. 10 months ago on Google
We loved it ❤️. Spent the whole day and we all enjoyed our time. We bought the all-day tickets which cover all aquarium shows and exhibits. And we repeated all of them several times. The shark voyage is nice but the time was so little to enjoy the sharks. If you are planning to spend the whole day it is better to park at the aquarium Park. It will cost additional 15 dollars.

Haven't been to the Downtown Aquarium in years. The food was so amazing. We had the coconut shrimp (the best anywhere) the 🦀 crab dip, (I'm still dreaming about it), and the 🍤 shrimp cocktail 🍸 Service was top notch! We had a reservation, so no wait. My granddaughter loved the rides and especially the fountain ⛲️ area! She didn't want to leave! Parking was tricky, but the parking attendant was super helpful in guiding me in.

Pretty cool place to go. Saw lots of different fishes and a tiger too. Go on the train because it was really cool to see the sharks. The sting rays were cool to pet and see but a couple of them had cuts near the nostrils/ front of them. That’s the only reason I gave them a 4 star.

  • 5/5 Jeffrey A. 9 months ago on Google
A great place to visit with the family. There aren't that many exhibits to see - you can get through the aquarium in less than an hour. However, they have a tiger which is pretty cool. I think the coolest part was the stingray exhibit where you get to touch and even feed the sting rays (for am additional fee). They also have amusement rides in the outdoor section - Train (you get to see sharks), ferris wheel, carousel, and other kid friendly attractions. I recommend you get the all day adventure pass (at least for the kids) so you can ride the rides as many times as you like, plus see touch the stingrays. Parking was $15 when I visited. There's also a restaurant on the 2nd floor.

  • 4/5 Cynthia H. 9 months ago on Google
Very nice aquarium with a large variety of fish. Wish there were more sharks. The rides seem pretty nice. Day pass for an adult is $25.99 to do everything, including petting rays.

Excellent aquarium! We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite crowded. Each section was very well done. My favourite was the shark exhibit. It is definitely worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Han L. 8 months ago on Google
overall it was a fun experience with my family. some exhibits were small but i enjoyed them anyways. the stingrays were cute but i saw that one had its tail cut off or something. the shark ride was also fun. i got my tickets discounted so i'd say it was worth the price

Visited this place in weekend and it was a best choice to spend the Saturday evening and best thing about this place is that this is in downtown. Aquerium is having varieties of fishes and don't miss stingray reef and shark tank visit via toy train. Overall it was a great experience.

Highly disappointed with this aquarium. Firstly, the parking lot is atrocious. The lot is super small and although the lot is full, they continue to allow cars to enter and collect the $15 parking fee. We were driving around and got stuck for a bit because it was jam packed and decided to just double park and wait to see if anyone was leaving. There was a point where we were going to leave and ask for our money back. Luckily, someone was leaving so we were able to park. I had a citypass but still had to wait in line so they could scan in the pass to give me entry tickets. The only highlights of the aquarium were the half glass hallway with the swimming seals and the white tiger at the end. The actual size of the aquarium is quite small and only took us at most 20 minutes to walk through. Definitely do not recommend and not worth the headache of finding parking.

I’ve been to the Downtown Aquarium plenty of times. The train and other rides they have are very nice and fun for kids. The splash pad is also very pretty and popular as well. Today I came for dinner which was delicious! The restaurant at the aquarium is beautiful with a beautiful view of the city. I definitely recommend coming to eat at night.

The Houston Aquarium is a great attraction for the city. It's expensive, but definitely worth the experience if you've never been. Definitely bring the kids! They will enjoy the experience. The history behind the aquarium is pretty cool too. Check out the train ride, and feed the stingrays!

  • 4/5 Maria M. 5 months ago on Google
Was traveling through. Not really what I was expecting. I thought they would have alot more to see. It was small, but what I did see was cool. They have some small rides for kids and feeding the sting ray's which we didnt have any instrest in. We did the aquarium walk through and the train that shows the shark exhibit. In the aquarium walk through they had a white tiger which to me looked a little skinny. If your looking for more like seeing whales, dolphins and things like that this is not your place. They just have

The aquarium was smaller than I expected, but the shark tunnel and train ride were amazing! I highly recommend upgrading your ticket to see the sharks. Carousel ride was fun too. $15 parking in the aquarium's lot.

Fantastic exhibit. I didn’t expect to see a tiger at the aquarium, and the rides looked fun. It has a great variety of sea life and entertaining aquarium features too.

Beautiful experience. The aquarium was amazing looking. So many amazing things to look at. If you wanna see some sharks then go on the train. The restaurant was amazing. Got the grilled chicken breast. All perfect.
