One of the Must visit, top 10 recommended, less time consuming tourist attraction in Houston. The views are mesmerizing, suggest to visit on weekday if possible to avoid crowd. There's only a single spot to take good photos. It is located close to Galleria Shopping mall and Downtown. Maximum 20 minutes can be spent here as nothing much to see here except waterwall. Paid parking garage is located close ,as of Dec 2023 its $5/hr

This such a welcoming Park! With people laughing and playing from every corner, to a musician playing ambient music. The park is incredibly clean, which I will give huge props to and that! The waterfall, which is the main attraction has a great community of people coming to, photographers photographing, families taking memories, and people having a great time. I sure loved my trip, and I hope come back here anytime soon!

This is such a dope spot! You have to pay about 6 bucks for parking in the visitor parking for Williams Tower but it's beyond worth it. Some of the lawn is off limits right now due to sod taking root but it detracts very minimally from the entire thing. The scope of this is hard to put into words and is easily missed in photos. It's quite breathtaking and the light mist from the wall is kinda perfect. If you have the time and gumption, definitely stop here for an hour and get some great shots and cool smiles.

This architectural feature is a few minute walk from a major shopping area (the Galleria). There is not really much to do in the immediate area (don’t expect restaurants or patios) as it is surrounded by business offices and condos. However, it is a beautiful feature and well worth the stop. Pending the wind, you will get a bit wet if you walk around the waterfall. I suggest grabbing lunch and enjoying the scenery for an hour of relaxation.

This park is so beautiful from every corner. The sound of the waterfall is so soothing. You just don’t wanna leave this place once you there. It’s so calming. That wall is so huge. They have benches to sit . A ground for kids to play. It’s also a great place for photo shoots. They have parking available right opposite to it. If you are in this area don’t forget to check this place.

Wow, it was so beautiful. It’s smaller then I thought it was and you have to pay for parking. But it was still really amazing, if your ever in Houston make it a must see! There is a nice park area for a picnic if you want also, it was beautiful.

My family and I visited on a Sunday morning. The park was not very busy and a great time for photos! My daughter loved the waterfall.

This is a pretty cool place. I’m sure it’s definitely better in the summer when you can play in the water. The infrastructure is awesome and the park is pretty. There’s not much to do other than stare up at the cascading water and circle around the park. It’s kind of a one-time deal for us and I don’t think we’d make it a destination stop again, but it’s pretty and worth seeing once.

After years of driving past on the way to the Galleria we finally stopped to take some graduation pictures here, and it made for a very pleasant backdrop. The sight of the fountain up close is more impressive than from the road, and the mist from the falling water is pleasantly cooling on a hot day. The concrete at the base of the waterwall can be a little slippery.

Such a cute activity if you don’t know what to do. Located on the same block as a mall. We went during sunset which was cute but it got dark fairly quickly so I would suggest going in the daytime so your pictures don’t come out dark. There were a few people when we arrived but not many.

When I first heard about this place, I admit I had my reservations, thinking it might be just another mundane city waterfall. However, the waterfall park pleasantly surprised me; it turned out to be far nicer than I expected and exceeded my expectations. This serene oasis has garnered praise from many, and I'm no exception. The sound of the cascading water is soothing and therapeutic, and the way it gracefully moves is mesmerizing. It also offers great photo-worthy allure. Pro tip: if you're an iPhone user, be sure to enable “Live Photo” mode to capture the animation of the waterfall in your pictures; it creates a delightful effect. In addition to the waterfall's charm, the park boasts a vast lawn/green area, that can be great for kids to play and have a blast throwing a ball or a frisbee, or an ideal spot for a relaxing picnic. Regardless of your age, you'll find something to enjoy here. There are several park benches that line the perimeter of the green area as well. They offer a much-needed reprieve from the Texas heat, with the shade from the surrounding trees providing cool comfort, if you are visiting in the summer. Parking is also convenient with two parking decks nearby and costs approximately $5/hour. The waterfall architecture and design, recreational options, and tranquility make this a worthy destination. Plan a visit; you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to check the hours of operation. When I visited in September they closed at 9pm.

The water wall was really cool. There is a lot of opportunity for great photos. I’d consider going at different times of the day to get different natural light effects. There were some other folks there taking photos and such. But early in the day there was not an overly large crown. There is also free half hour parking in a parking garage nearby.

nice hidden gem in the Galleria area. small but beautiful park. would have given 5 stars but because they charge money for parking which was why I knock off a star. other than that it was a nice park with nice views!

It was amazing! Just like the movies and the pictures on the travel channel! You will get a little bit wet because of the drizzle that's coming from up above if it's windy outside. You will enjoy it definitely. Take videos and lots of pictures. Park across the street at the garage which is half a block away for $3 every half an hour or you can park about a block and a half away at the galleria mall across from Macy's.

Cool spot for photos. You can park in the parking garage for about $4 for the first hour. Professional photographers will require a permit to photograph a session, I have heard that some have gotten away with a permit, but if I were doing a paid session, I would not risk it. Have fun!

This was just a quick stop for us while we were visiting the Houston/Galveston area for a family reunion, but boy was I glad we stopped here. It can be a quick stop, as it was for us with $5 parking in the garage nearby but it was very memorable. Also, it's a great site to see in the summer. It's much cooler because of the mist in the air from the waterfall and was one of the only tolerable outdoor stops in Houston in the summer. It's a lot of fun and great for a quick picture. I would recommend it. No restrooms for public use as far as I could tell though.

Water spraying in the wind makes it a little chilly. Fun to take the family out for a walk, for photos ( after you can figure out the parking.. which needs to be free we were charged about $6 for 20 mins).. a few more lights by the sidewalks would be nice to see where your walking, other than that it was pretty.

This place was a decent place to take some out of town visiting family members. Went there about three weeks ago during a weekday. The grounds were well kept. Did not encounter random asking/ soliciting for money. Waterfall in my opinion was interesting for about 7-12 mins. Long enough to keep my little one entertained. I would recommend to other for the simple fact that it's something free but it is just something relatively interesting to do within the city.

Awesome waterfall. Great way to cool down on a hot day. I hated to pay to park to visit only for a few minutes but I would go again if I come back to Houston.

This morning, my friend and I took our visiting college classmate to the Gerald D. Hines Waterfall in Houston, TX. We were excited to show her this iconic Houston landmark, and we were not disappointed! The weather was perfect for a visit to the waterfall - sunny and warm, with a slight breeze. When we arrived, we were amazed by the sheer size and beauty of the waterfall. It is truly a sight to behold! We spent some time walking around the perimeter of the waterfall, taking pictures and enjoying the view. We also ventured behind the waterfall, which was a lot of fun. The mist from the waterfall was refreshing, and it made for some great photo opportunities. Our classmate was blown away by the waterfall. She said that she had never seen anything like it before. She was especially impressed by the way that the water cascaded down the wall, creating a mesmerizing effect. We also enjoyed the park that surrounds the waterfall. There are plenty of places to sit and relax, or to take a walk and enjoy the scenery. The park is also home to a variety of plants and flowers, which made it a beautiful place to visit. Our overall experience at the Gerald D. Hines Waterfall was wonderful. It is a great place to visit with friends and family, and it is a must-see for any visitor to Houston. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and unique experience.

Wall as easy to find with the skyscraper next to it. Muddy area immediately surrounding waterfall. Be sure to go all the way around sculpture! No bathrooms. Safe area of town to walk at night. Mall just one block away for food and bathrooms.

Had so much fun here with my boys. It was a really hot day and we were school shopping in the area and decided to stop by. The mist from the water wall cooled us off with great satisfaction. Also, many people parked on the side of the road with hazard lights on. If you stay for just a few minutes and leave, you dont have to worry about being towed. Overall it was really cool to experience.

It was a very nice view, it will be a very good place to visit with kids especially in summer. There is also a large open green area with trees for relaxation

Very large green grass park centrally situated very close to nearby shopping malls and numerous eateries as well. The beautiful waterfall is an iconic location in Houston and the phot and video opportunities are endless! I highly recommended visiting.

very impressive waterfall and park. great photo opps. I saw a bride and groom taking pictures and lots of couples. Impressed that it is 64 feet tall and pumps 11,000 gallons of water per minute.

This is a great attraction to take pictures for any wedding or quincenera. The best time to take pics in my opinion is early morning before afternoon. The weekends are very busy so if you can go during the weekday it is recommended. We took great pics of my son for his IG page @the_mini_monsterjam_lover. Please follow him for more trips and pics

Wonderful place to take visitors in the city. Expect to get drenched and have spare clothing if necessary. I recommend not to visit during cold weather.

This place was so fun. The water wall is beautiful and there's a big green lawn in front of it to just relax on. I should have just relaxed on it, but I got too excited and tried to do gymnastics on it and broke my foot. Still walking in a boot. That's my fault though

The Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park, formerly the Williams Waterwall and the Transco Waterwall, is a multi-story sculptural fountain that sits opposite the south face of Williams Tower in the Uptown District of Houston. The fountain and its surrounding park were built as an architectural amenity to the adjacent tower. Both the fountain and tower were designed by John Burgee Architects with Philip Johnson. Originally privately owned in common with the office tower, the waterwall and the surrounding land were purchased by the Uptown Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, a non-profit local government corporation, in 2008 to ensure the long term preservation of the waterwall and park. The fountain currently operates between 10 am and 9pm. Originally the "Transco Waterwall", the waterwall was renamed the "Williams Waterfall" to correspond with the renaming of the adjacent office tower due to the merger of Transco Energy Co. with the Williams Companies. The City of Houston renamed the site again on December 17, 2009 honoring Gerald D. Hines for his impact on Houston architecture during the last six decades.

Very cool to be in the center of this waterfall and look straight up at it. Excellent spot for taking pictures. This is another location where it is worth seeing it in person even for just a few.

What a beautiful park! The water-wall is stunning and the area is gorgeous. It’s right next to the galleria mall and tons of shopping and dining near!

I wish I could give this experience a 10 🌟 it was beautiful and definitely a must see on your stop in Houston! The area is lovely and have lots to do but the park is beautiful and pictures are a must!

One of the cool free things to do in Houston that won’t take up much of your day at all but def worth stopping at. Both times I’ve been here I’ve spent about an hour or so. You can take a bit more for pictures or less depending on you. Parking is easy, right past the waterfall and to the side is a parking garage with 5 dollar parking. Def worth stopping by and enjoying the views.

Great park! Beautiful water fall sounds and feels cool with a breeze flowing thru the building. Great place for picnic or playing outdoors with children. Some beaches available. Grass feels great and clean. The tall building in front of fountain is interesting to look at....its really tall. Parking is available for free at the Mall parking garage. Its a very short 5min walk to the park from the garage. Worth it.

Peaceful place for sitting, playing, bringing the pet, park and wander. The 'waterfall' is an amazing art piece. It is best described as phantasmagorical. There are 2 sides 2 it. One large waterfall and then many small ones. From a distance it looks from a Roman period or even Atlantis (?) This located near a lil sandwich shop and a hotel and just a few blocks from the Galleria. There is a parking garage here but if you are up for the walk, park free at he Galleria.

This park makes for a good walk in the park . The water wall is the main attraction if you walk too close to it be prepared receive splash back from the water wall. In my 2 hr stay here I saw many people park in a no parking zone leave the emergency lights in their vehicle and take pictures, some of the people that took pictures here were dressed up in graduation ceremony attire, Quince areas etc.

  • 5/5 Maksim B. 1 year ago on Google
I was in the area and this was definitely an eye catcher. I made the short walk back after my previous business. It was busier than expected, but still more than enough room for everyone. The waterfall itself is very impressive with the massive size and gorgeous views. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Very comfortable benches too!

  • 5/5 Amanda K. 1 year ago on Google
A must see! Looks even better in person. Pictures don’t do it justice. Awesome waterfall, easy to get to, free, and the mist is so refreshing. A must do if you are anywhere near the Houston area!

  • 4/5 Josh Q. 1 year ago on Google
Great spot to visit if you are in the area! The waterfall was a nice sight to see but there is not much else to view after that. It’s right next to the galleria so if you like shopping that might be fun to include in your trip over here as well.
