Nice park there are many things to do for everyone. They do have nice skating ring. Yo uh can do kayaking as well here. Also fountains for kids as well which are amazing, particularly in summer. They have horse carriage ride as well. Also there is street parking here but it's only free after 6 pm otherwise it costs 2$ an hour which is okay as it's downtown. We visited on Saturday.

I love this park. It’s full of family oriented things, full of things for kids to do but also it’s great for a romantic walk and copping a squat in the grass. Great food trucks and vendors are never far away it there are places to eat and get drinks from too. Love it!

Very nice green space in Houston. Has areas for festivals and concerts, sporting area, restaurant, a roller skating rink, and a pond. Parking is available via a few top dollar lots or street parking if you can find it, which is a cheaper option. Place was clean and had several art pieces in the area along with a children's area.

We love Discovery Green. It is such a great outdoor space to display and enjoy art, live music and fun events. Here everyone can find some kind of activity to enjoy. It is a beautiful and relaxing place to unwind, especially with kids. They will love the interactive water features. There is always something going on concerts, movie screenings, public art exhibits, performances, exercise classes and the list goes on. If you get hungry you can grab refreshments and a bite in one of the restaurants.

The park is located downtown across from the convention center. Not a bad spot if you have smaller kids with you. The lake isn’t all that much to look at but you can go out on kayaks and paddle. There are some gorgeous lotus flowers growing out of the lake though. Overall, it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to see it.

This is one of my favorite spaces for both my professional and personal photography work. Houston has a number of photogenic spaces, but Discovery Green brings all the best in one space. Photography aside this open communal space was designed with people in mind. There are benches perched under cooling trees and pockets of serenity all over. If you have a chance, I also suggest attending any events held here as well.

I didn't really get to fully enjoy this place. But me and my date walked through it, before going someplace else. There's so much to see. Weird lights, Pixar mini putt, kid's playground, skating rink, echo seats. I definitely want to come back and experience it better with my date.

Family friendly park..well maintained and adorable play areas. Not ideal for bigger kids but children under 8 may be more suitable for the playscape, with the exception of the climbing ropes. They have areas that are good for picnics and even though we don't skate, the rink is a nice touch. They have a small cafe that offers a good variety of snacks, including ice cream. I have taken my nieces and nephews here over the years and was with my 7 yr old nephew this time. Bring a ball or something to play with. We accidentally forgot ours and it would have been useful given the limited play areas. Great location. Easy to get to on the rail.

We came here specifically for ice skating but we’re pleasantly surprised by the beautiful lights display. Tickets for ice skating must be purchased in advanced, there was a long line but they were kind enough to give us more time to skate even though we didn’t take full advantage of the time since ice skating is a crazy workout! We did however love the lights and took an opportunity to get some wonderful photos. Such a beautiful magical place πŸ’«

Overall, Discovery Green is a great park in the middle of downtown. There are public restrooms that are well maintained, water fountains, and plenty of trash cans. We loved the playground where my kids "rode" boxed down the turf grass hill. We went ice skating as well, but it was 70 degrees out and the ice was quickly melting. 80% of the ice had water over it, so when people fell, they got soaking wet.

I love this Garden! Right in the middle of downtown Houston with so much activity. Go for a stroll, grab a cup of coffee or wine. And check their website fir the calendar events: free yoga classes, movie nights, concerts. Parking is available at all times and close to wonderful restaurants and hotels. As well as GB Center. Every Christmas we have ice skating and a new artist embellishing the park. Always an attraction. My clients that move downtown love it.

We went there for the Autorama at George R Brown. They had a flea market set up and an ice skating rink for everyone. They had a few food trucks and it was a nice time. They have a lot of restaurants that surround the immediate area as well, but most of them are high priced. We parked in the parking garage so we ended up spending $30 to park since we were there for over 2 hours.

Whatever the occasion or season Discovery Green is the place to be to meet with family, friends, a/o date. There are a couple of restaurants available on site as well. Great for children. Plenty of space for them to release some energy. I cycle and mini moto ride to this area. During the day is nice but at night, let me say oh wow. You can bring a towel or blanket to have to sit and eat listen to your music. The parking may be a tight squeeze depending on current events there or surroundings businesses and time of day or if it’s a weekend get there early or super early. Have fun ya’ll.

Brought my family to ice skating in the park. This was our first visit and really enjoyed the area. We plan to return especially when it's hot and they can enjoy the playground with splash pads. Very nice neighborhood with many hotels & restaurants to choose from.

Discovery Green is a must-visit spot for locals and tourists alike. One of the best place in the heart of Houston surrounded by high rise buildings. A true downtown attraction and the best place to spend fun time with your family. Great place to entertain your children.

It was a nice vibe for Thursday night. Blues show was going on live music was nice. Although there's signs that say no scooters, they just about run you over so be careful. When it's dark, be careful walking, trip hazards.

Houston being such busy and crowded city, one quiet park and greenery in the middle of city is like blessing in itself. This park is exceptionally fun for kids as they can play in the water fountain, kids playground, swing and slides and many more. Additionally, this park is well known for all the free and fun activities almost every weekend that includes yoga, face painting, foods, painting, dance and many more. Just don't miss out, because the activities usually takes place before the noon. Most recommended if you have kids or just chill out by yourself.

Tranquil park in downtown with lots of different art installations, trees and water features. Lots of room for families to play catch on the grass or have a picnic! There is also a playground and bench swings (for adults too!).

I was in Houston for a weekend and managed to squeeze in some time strolling through this park. I wondered how a typical day would be like at this sweet patch of greenery area. Given a cute playground with creative, fun and artistic structures scattered around, there is no doubt that this place offers plenty of space for young children to roam and roll freely and wildly, though parental supervision is always recommended. It was certainly quite festive, filled with the Holiday spirit and shimmered with colorful lights, along with singing choir, pop-up shops, easy crowd and live music during the early part of December while I was here. It definitely is a good and chilled outdoorsy place for families with young children, especially to enjoy some Holiday fun without worrying about breaking the bank.

Went to Discovery Green for the first time. Was hoping to ice skate- but you need reservations and it was a 3 hour wait. . The outside space is good and there was a movie on the lawn. Parking is challenging. There is a picnic area and playgrounds. The kids enjoyed it and it is pet friendly.

Cool place if you are looking for a unique background. Good clean restrooms. Parking garage is expensive but street parking (when available) is free weekend nights and all Sunday. Every couple of months they have interesting and beautiful art displays (usually using light as a medium).

Fun park for kids and adults alike. There are age appropriate playgrounds, fountains and β€œrain” with cool features and beautiful art along the way! The only thing that was less than desirable was the lake which was dirty (masks and garage floating in the green water). We did enjoy the minnows though.

I love Discovery green. The place is beautiful and peaceful. Very relaxing park, the playground is very challeging but in a positive way. They have splashpad for the young kids. The cafe has normal menu. The restrooms are clean. It is very nice park to spend time with the fam. If the weather permits, picnic is also part of the activities can be done too.

A lovely place amongst the busy streets and high rises in the middle of downtown. It’s amazing how there’s a tranquil place like this to side under a shade of a tree and listen to music in the park. The park has plenty of bench seats, a splash pad and playground for kiddos.

Lovely family friendly park. Lots of activities for kids to enjoy. Including water fun to cool off on a hot summer day There's a restaurant at the park as well as others outside the park but a short distance. There is also a mini food vendor at the park next to a picnic area. Visited on July 4th so there were lots of families. Still a very relaxed environment

It's a really nice place to walk around. There is a picnic area and it's dog friendly too. But, when we went, the Christmas lights were out and it was dark except for a few areas. It was pretty disappointing. We didn't have time to visit in the morning, might have been more fun...

One of my favorite places to venture/ take my mom for walk. Beautiful and interactive it fits its name. The only thing is super crowded on weekends with difficult parking. I like going on week days. It could use more florals and parking would be the only thing.

During one of the scorching hot days that Houston had experienced recently (June 2023) my family and I embarked on a visit to downtown Houston and the delightful Discovery Green Park. Our children had an absolute blast at the playground and the nearby water features. Taking a leisurely stroll around the park allowed us to bask in the serene ambiance, surrounded by lush trees and vibrant greenery. It was a precious moment of quality family time. Without a doubt, I'm marking this as a must-visit spot for our future trips to Houston. It's a perfect blend of fun and natural beauty.

It's family fun, with lots & Lots of things to do, they are expensive, but I guess they have to be renting space in the center of Downtown you have to be pricey to make profit, At night the park sorta transform for the adults, without all the kids playing & noise.

Discovery Green is one of my favorite parks! I recommend it to anyone who visits me from out of state. It’s great place to enjoy on a date, after a baseball, or basketball game since it is just a block From Minute Maid Stadium and the Toyota Center. They’re always doing something different. And I always enjoyed live music and the ice-skating during the holidays.

We love the remodeling of the playground equipment ! We loved it before but now it's better! We visited on a beautiful day, we flew kites, made giant bubbles(solution from home) oh and the green hill by the playground was the highlight of the day! My boys looooved sliding down the hill with some cardboard! Super fun! They have restrooms, they have plenty of shade, food, drinks and even the snow cone truck was there!!

Beautiful park right in Downtown Houston with breathtaking views of the surrounding skyscrapers and buildings. There are nice wide walking paths, vendors nearby, stages for when live bands play, and a very large grassy inner field for family activities and sports to take place!
