This place is AMAZING. So much green space and so many open grassy areas, plus public art, bridges, views of the river and downtown, and other attractions! My favorite area, and it's a popular one due to the views, is Eleanor Tinsley park. Great for biking, running, picnics, hanging out, rollerblading, Frisbee, volleyball, walking... Anything! A must visit. You can rent bikes and kayaks as well. There are bathrooms in the Lost Lake area. I've heard parking is tough but I biked in. Paths are lighted at night!

This was the very first park I visited when I first moved to Houston. 3 years ago. I loved this park.. a nice trail great for hiking and running with a beautiful scenery. Very busy. Nice park to go for a walk and enjoy nature. This is a nice hiking trail, very well maintained. Awesome place to get out in nature but stay basically in town and There’s plenty of paid parking, which is also very close/right next to the trail. Very easy to access. Lots of people walking, running cycling, skating, you name it! And Is Dog friendly.

Nice park to walk, jog, run, etc. It was very clean. They have some intriguing artwork. You can stay until sunset to watch the bats come up from under the bridge. Amazing sight to see and you’ll see a lot of locals gather to watch it together. Sufficient amount of parking, it was easy to find a spot.

Such a fun park to explore! Whether you bike, walk, or run, there is a space for you here! The only annoying part about this park is the massive amount of construction thay is constantly going on in various parts. But other than that, it has a killer view of the skyline as well!

Visiting this park was a serene experience! The sprawling trails offer delightful walks and biking opportunities amidst stunning natural vistas and captivating sculptures. The park has a bat colony, skate park, water works park and cistern with light displays. Ample parking adds convenience, but weekends can be crowded. It is quite impossible to get parking close to the event you are going. Nonetheless, the panoramic skyline view is worth it! A must-visit for nature and art enthusiasts alike.

A hidden gem not far away from DT Houston. The hiking trails are along the bayou. Parking is limited so it is best if you are able to find residential side street and walk a little to the park.

Great park! Very clean, open, and well managed. There are different sections but I didn't get to explore all of them. They have artwork and other things to look at. At night, there is a bat Colony that flies out, though the clarity is hit or miss. Definitely a park I'll be back to explore more of!

Nice and shaded trails for walking, really close to downtown! We parked in a free parking lot where you can keep your car up to 3 hours. There were plenty of parking spots available (late afternoon on a Tuesday). The pedestrian bridges are safe and well-maintained. Paths were clear of debris and saw many people out walking and running. Path under the bat bridge is really cool. Would return for more fresh air the next time I'm in Houston.

Historical park underneath downtown Houston. Was fortunate enough to stay away from the sun and catch some shade here on my morning jogs. Very clean and quiet

Great wide trails for bikes and pedestrians. Clean, safe, beautiful. Great dog park by Wortham fountain. Parking challenging unless you go early or park aways away and walk.

So refreshing to get outside in nature with sidewalks. This was my first time urban hiking and I really enjoyed it. There are so many things to see, places to stop, and peace to be felt here. I’d definitely pack bug spray and lots of water on a hot day. There were ample amounts of trash and recycling bins as well as water fountains. I think I’ll be making regular trips here.

This park is one of the best in Houston. It has well paved and well lit walkways and paths. There are multiple pedestrians bridges across the bayou. And there’s even a lock bridge! The horticulture is well maintained and isn’t over growing or dead. There’s plenty of green spaces for kids to run around on short grass.

The video was taken on the Buffalo Bayou Loop where we saw this snake fall from the top of the wall and onto the trail. He did finally find his way back to the top.🐍 The pictures were taken during an early morning walk along Buffalo Bayou Trail. Peaceful, serene, and beautiful. What a treasure for the city of Houston. Most of the pictures were taken before sunrise when the fog had not yet dissipated. As early as it was, I passed several other walkers and joggers taking advantage of the early morning hours on the trail. This was such a great morning, one definitely worth repeating.

This is the best part of Houston β€” an absolute gem. On the bayou, you will find people walking dogs, taking strolls, exercising, having picnics, and more. There are 2 dog parks, one for smaller dogs and one for bigger dogs. There is a public restroom located at the end of the trail near the city. A water fountain is located at the far end of the park, near Kirby drive (there may be others). There are both walk paths and bike paths, and the trail totals roughly 5 miles from beginning to end. I love this park because there are always people around walking the trails and they are friendly enough to smile or wave as you pass. There is so much activity on the weekends that it gives you energy to get out and move. When I walk the trail, I will typically pass at least 2 people speaking different languages, often Spanish and sometimes French or Italian. There are very fit men (and women) playing soccer on Saturday mornings. There are beautiful people taking wedding, pregnancy, or quinceaΓ±era photos. There is a small botanical garden. There are plaques all around explaining the different trees along the trail and their extraordinary features, and people who come just to observe the plants and trees themselves. It is a wonderful park and a quite impressive development right in the heart of Houston. If I ever leave Houston, I will never forget walking and running these trails on Saturday mornings. It has been my favorite place to live thus far.

Beautiful! Several spots to rent bikes and e-bikes. Paths are often split into pedestrian and non-pedestrian trails which is a boon for both parties.

History. The area now known as Buffalo Bayou Park was earmarked for parkland since the early 1900s. Throughout the first half of the 20th century, the City of Houston was gifted or outright purchased tracts of land around the Bayou with the intention of creating a city park. If you happen to be In Houston this is one of the spots that you should visit and have a relaxing walk; enjoying the nature and his multiple colors. Rejuvenate your soul. Join me on this path. This is one of the best parks in Houston. I walk it almost every day and always find something new to look at. It is worth walking the full loop and seeing all of the work they’ve done to restore and protect the environment.

Amazing place to visit with lots of trails for biking or running. The people at the welcome center are very attentive and helpful and will give all the information you need. They sell water that is produced by plants that absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, so buying the water of the welcome center is a good way to support their amazing job and a way to fight global warming.

A wonderful park that is open to the public. Long paved trails. Only a little tree coverage, most areas are very open to full sun. There's volleyball pits, kids playground, and lots of open space for picnics. You can walk, or ride a bike. You can also see people cayaking down the bayou. Metered parking near the park. Wheelchair accessible, and pet friendly as well!!!

Buffalo Bayou Park in Houston is a sprawling urban park that offers a diverse range of recreational activities and natural beauty. Situated along the banks of the Buffalo Bayou, this 160-acre park has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists One of the standout features of Buffalo Bayou Park is its picturesque landscapes. The park offers a mix of open green spaces, lush gardens, and wooded areas, providing a refreshing escape from the urban environment. The beautifully maintained trails and pathways wind their way through the park, offering visitors the opportunity to explore and appreciate the natural surroundings. One of the highlights of Buffalo Bayou Park is its extensive trail system, which spans approximately five miles. Whether you prefer walking, jogging, or cycling, the well-maintained trails cater to all types of outdoor enthusiasts. As you make your way along the trails, you'll be treated to scenic views of the bayou, lush vegetation, and even Houston's impressive skyline. Another notable feature of the park is the variety of recreational amenities it offers. From paddleboarding and kayaking on the bayou to picnicking and birdwatching, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The park also boasts an outdoor performance space, dog parks, and even a skate park, ensuring that visitors of all ages and interests have plenty of options to engage in. The park's commitment to public art is also worth mentioning. Throughout Buffalo Bayou Park, you'll come across various art installations and sculptures that add an element of creativity and cultural enrichment to the outdoor experience. These installations not only enhance the aesthetics of the park but also contribute to its unique character. Furthermore, Buffalo Bayou Park has undergone significant renovations and improvements in recent years, making it even more accessible and enjoyable. The park features well-designed amenities such as restrooms, water fountains, and convenient parking areas, ensuring that visitors have a comfortable experience while exploring the park. One consideration to keep in mind is the park's popularity, especially during weekends and holidays. As one of Houston's most popular outdoor destinations, it can get quite crowded during peak times. However, with its vast expanse and numerous trails, it is usually possible to find a quieter spot away from the main areas.

A jewel in the middle of the city. Bike and running trails along the bayou. It feels safe, even though there are many roads without light for nighty walks. Bring your bike and tennis shoes😊

Lovely park for a stroll, picnic or biking. The bike pathways are real good. Park is great for sunset views and skyline views too. We could find parking on the sabine bridge of the area. We saw people taking graduation and engagement photos in the park.

Love visiting peaceful parks in the middle of the city. This park is huge and I imagine I only stumbled across 5% of the park. Throw in the Sabine Bridge and you have nice outing for a couple hours.

The park itself portrays a calming experience! It has a nice view and a clean atmosphere. And for my people who like to go on runs/ walks, they have small stations for you to stop by and get some water as you go.

I lived near the park for two years and got to make use of it a lot! I have been able to go on family walks, eat delicious ice cream, watch shows, play sand volleyball, ride electric scooters, ride bikes, exercise, take my dog to meet other dogs in an open space and more! I know this is a run on sentence but the number of activities you can do in a place like this are endless. Kudos to the management team!

Lovely walking path in Houston. Go early in the summer to avoid the heat. The trees make it a little cooler than the surrounding area. Awesome dog parks and a water area to cool down your dog.

Love the walking and bike trails but when you walk pass under the bat bridge you could smell that there are bats there. Based on a European customs they also have a lover’s bridge where lovers leave a lock on the overpass bridge fence If you are a female I would NOT recommend walking on the tail by yourself at night. While back a female was attack by a homeless man while using the trail

The park is very big and has some nice views. While there are signs some places, it would be great if more signs were posted a long the park that guide you to where to see the skyline.
