This is a wonderful place. There is a train ready to tour. There are two tours, so you can choose. It was so amazing to see both the spacecraft that went to space for the first time and the spacecraft that went to space recently. It was a place where adults felt more interesting and interesting than children. If you come to Houston or if you live, I recommend you to go there at least once.

Awesome experience for anyone who knows or loves to learn about the many things involved with space exploration, missions, and equipment needed. Kids loved it all and there are very many knowledgeable workers who can explain everything and answer any question! Stephen was especially awesome when it came to engaging the kids with the re-entry model challenge the kids built.

Must-see attraction in Houston Plenty of exhibits, shows, and historical artifacts to check out. I'd highly recommend making sure to incorporate the tram tour (to either the Mission Control or Astronaut training facility) into your visit. I found the show schedule extremely confusing to figure out. The shows are only listed on one area and the listed locations don't match the actual names on the brochure map. Other: Food court is solid. The Indian place offers a healthy, affordable option.

I read that this museum was a must-visit if you were visiting Houston & I'm so glad we did. Though we were only there for 2 hours, we got to see so much & bought souvenirs and t-shirts sold at the gift shop. Just a recommendation, don't try the dehydrated ice cream sandwiches sold there, because you'll be disappointed haha. Get yourself a nice souvenir with the $15 instead. On the bright side, it was definitely an experience. We were able to buy our tickets at the door, and there was no wait time. They do require you to wear a face mask inside, and if you don't have one, they provide some for you. I think this is a great place for both kids and adults. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves no matter the age!

We spent the entire day at the space center. From open to close. We don’t have children but still managed to find lots of fun things to do without kids. The tram tours are awe-inspiring. Worth the drive from anywhere. Loved it!!

They have hugely improved the visitor experience. An ideal way to experience the center is to come at 10am and have all tours by 2pm. They take you to interesting sites in 3 tram tours, which you have to book from inside the place you enter. Mission control center is a must, but tbh all 3 are great. Last tram leaves at 3pm. Museum closes at 5pm.

Awesome place to visit, amazing exhibits. There is a large room to watch a short movie of the history of the space program, then doors open out to exhibits covering many points explained in the move. Nice place to eat, great gift shop(s), very kid friendly. Well worth the time and cost of tickets. I do suggest buying the tickets online, there was a line of people but we walked right in with QR codes on our phone from online tickets.

Fabulous place for the whole family without any age restrictions. Arrive early because there is a lot to see. This is a whole day tour. Food is not very good but who cares with such an experience. Do not forget to purchase tickets for the Mission Control Room tour. Without that your experience is not complete! It does definitely worth every cent you pay. If I were here as a child that would have been a lifetime experience. But as an adult I am just realizing it was a life experience indeed. So before you go have a good breakfast that you can remember all day since food is not the best there and arrive early. Have fun and please if you can donate to help more children to visit this fabulous place. At the moment there is a need for determined young astronauts.

This is a great place with wonderful exhibitions and lots of knowledge. Good for all groups. There’s a full sized Saturn V rocket that you can see if you take one of the tram tours. Absolutely worth it. It’s great to check out the discovery, too. The app is garbage, don’t bother downloading it. The tram is open so be mindful of the weather when you go. It was very cold and windy on the day I went, so it’s manageable if dressed appropriately but maybe inappropriate for babies. Overall, this is a cornerstone of Houston history and cutting edge space discovery so I can’t recommend it enough.

A whole wonderful experience to have a look at the simulation lab and gigantic rocket parts assembling center. The tram ride was educational and enjoyable. This is always our favorite spot in Houston which we do not want to miss every time we visit Houston. The inhouse cafe offers variety of food and affordable. Worth visit once a year with kids.

Had a blast at The Johnson Space Center and their Galaxy Lights! It was fairly pricey at $28/adult (+$10/car) but they also had the indoor space open, so you could tour the space center and enjoy the outdoor lights. We took our 3 year old granddaughter along. We spent 3 hours there, between the lights and the museum. In addition to all the amazing space history, the light show in the front entry was mesmerizing. We got drizzled on all evening and even that didn’t dampen the mood. When we left, our little our wasn’t ready to go. 😅

I was in absolutely awe the entire time I was here. At first, it felt a little underwhelming. You walk into a massive room with some cool looking displays, but at first glance, it looked sparse. It didn't take long for me to realize just how much JSC has to offer. There was a section full of space suits that were just incredible, and they really tried to highlight what life outside our atmosphere is like for the people up there. A lot of their displays are HUGE, potentially life-size, and they utilize mannequins in a clever way so that you understand the scale of everything. They turned a giant airplane into an exhibit, and you get to go inside the cockpit of an actual spaceship. There's even a point in the tour where you get to touch a meteorite and a piece of the moon. I spent almost all day there, arriving just as they opened and stayed into the afternoon. I highly recommend going early on a weekday, as it seemed much less busy.

    1. Buy a ticket online ($ 28 for adults) from the official website and avoid huge cue at space center. 2. Worth visiting what you paid for. 3.. One full day time can be spent. 4. Adults will find it useful however For kids (ages 8 to 16) it's the best place. 5. You can buy a Houston city pass ($ 68) which covers 4-5 things and you will get free entry to the space center. 6. Don't forget to book the tours are worth the time. Do this in advance via space center application. (Refer to the official website) 7. The space shuttle used has been restored. 8. A huge space shuttle, various rockets, training center and much more is available to see.

It felt really great visiting this place. Initially I was reluctant to come here. But once I entered the Space Centre, it felt amazing. It is truly astonishing to see what we as humans have achieved over the years. To see the spacesuits, the Saturn V rocket and other things is something I will always remember.

Absolutely amazing place with a ton of historical moments footage. Things actually from the astronauts and a ton of educational stuff. A great place for kids and you will never realize how huge this place is until they try to drive you around. Was extremely happy to go and loved all the history and the upcoming history soon to be

How can a space nerd not like a tour of the famous John Space Center. Right from the start you get a real scale space shuttle (the Independence) on top of a Boeing 747. During the tour you get to see various sites including where NASA engineers help coordinate work inside the ISS. Look closely and you can see little Easter eggs befitting the humor of the people who work there. Overall a fantastic way to geek out and get a look at the place where people are helping to coordinate the exploration of space.

This is an incredible place to visit. We took our family and our young kids loved it. Being up close to rockets and getting to go inside the sky lab and take multiple tours; one of the astronaut training facility and the other of Saturn V at rocket park are a must!! We spent the entire day there. We brought our own snacks since we are vegan we knew it would be limited at the food court. They did have a veggie burger and fries we could eat, that was a plus! Even with four young kids and a long day it was all worth it!!

Cool museum if you’re into space stuff. The life sized replicas are great touch and bring everything to a more realistic scale. Activities come in the form of vr experiences and interactive video games. Not a bad place for the kids either. You get to go inside the shuttle and airplane also.

An incredible experience! Space Center University was the best thing I have ever experienced. I loved everything the place had to offer. The place is organized, interactive and the staff is very welcoming and kind. I graduated with first place honors and a gold medal. I love you, Johnson Space Center!

Eh, get to the KENNEDY Space Center in Florida if you can. This one was absolutely "meh" in comparison. In all fairness, our family of 8 was already pretty tired out from getting off our 5-day Disney cruise and picking up our rental van that morning, and did not try to do any of the "special experiences" (VR, theater, etc.). But still, the Kennedy Space Center in Florida was like an AMUSEMENT park - MUCH bigger, more interactive and much more to see and do. The best thing here? Was the "Food Lab". If it hadn't been for a NICE military discount, we would've been pretty upset about the cost given the lackluster experience.

My family and I have been going to NASA, once a month, for the past few years. This place is a must see for anyone; no matter the age. There is so much fun for everyone. Make sure to make a few trips because you will not be able to see everything on one visit. The price for adults was around $30. Children 11 and up were around $25. They do offer annual memberships, as well. You will not regret this trip.

This place was on my bucket list. Here they have the Space Shuttle Independence, formerly known as Explorer, is a full-scale, high-fidelity replica of the Space Shuttle. It sits on the historic Shuttle Carrier Aircraft "NASA 905". Boeing 747 jumbo jet that ferried the shuttle orbiters across the country between missions. Making the 8-story-tall exhibit even bigger is the addition of a full-size space shuttle replica. This is located at the Independence Plaza. The exhibit itself is amazing with a lot of NASA history. There are two main parts to a visit to the Space Center. There’s the large self-guided Space Center museum itself, which is home to numerous exhibits on space exploration and space in general. Then there’s the tram tour, which takes you onto the grounds of the NASA Johnson Space Center facility itself, where you can see actual working government facilities, as well as historic locations like the original Mission Control room. You can also have breakfast with an astronaut experience. This includes your standard entry, plus, as the name suggests, you get to have a meal with an astronaut. You’ll hear stories and anecdotes from an actual NASA astronaut, plus have the opportunity to take photos. This is also the home of the Saturn V rocket. Highly recommend this place.

This place is pretty cool and has a lot of fun things for kids. It's more about space exploration than actual space. I mean that you learn more about NASA and their missions, space shuttles, and operations. It's an interactive place, which makes it more interesting for those who aren't "into" this sort of thing. You can go inside a space shuttle, view a room of actual NASA employees working on things, see the old command center room, and more. If you're not completely into space travel, then it won't be the most fun thing ever, but at least it will keep you interested if you're with friends or family who are.

I certainly enjoyed my time here. If you have some spare time in Houston, this is a must go to. Space exploration has always interested me. Parking is cheap and admission is relatively inexpensive. I would highly recommend. Take the entire family.

Amazing place to bring kids interested in science or even adults who are interested in space exploration. Some spacecrafts in this area are real while others are realistic models. You can go in the space shuttle model to see what the conditions in the shuttle were. There are tours, different depending on the day. Really recommend to add this to your Houston tours and trips. **SPOILER ALERT** The pictures may show images you want to see in person.

It was very busy when we went, but it is well organized. We were able to see everything easily. Book Mission Control time well in advance. We booked the day before and only 3:20 time was open. Parking is $11 paid for via an app. There are 3 tram tours 1. Rocket park 2. Astronaut training facility 3. Mission Control You have to book both Mission Control (online) and astronaut training facility (as soon as you get there) in advance. Each tram tour was less than an hour including travel time. As far as the food, the cafeteria “lab” has many options and the food was available so quick. The tacos Al pastor is the way to go. The pizza looked sad and the chicken sandwich was meh. But honestly I wasn’t expecting to be wowed by the food. They have a cute coffee shop and also a food truck stationed in the outside seating area. Lastly, the Mission Control tour will inform you “if you can’t take the stairs, we have someone who will coordinate your elevator.” They severely understated how many stairs that was. I’m 7.5 months pregnant and a healthy individual and I figured, I can do like 4-5 flights no problem. It was 10 flights with 110 steps! I was fine but I wish I had been informed properly. Overall a great experience. The staff was very friendly!

An incredible experience for us and our girls (2.5 and 5yrs old)! We were in Houston for a work trip and had a terribly busy schedule but we couldn’t leave without visiting the JSC. We bought our timed tickets online and ahead of time with a small discount as opposed to buying in person. We booked our Mission Control tour ahead of time as well. There are two additional tours but only one was available to us, the other being closed for renovations. It turned out the timed tickets aren’t strictly enforced until it’s super busy. There are two main parts to the Space Center. First the large self-guided Space Center which is the museum itself. It houses numerous exhibits on space exploration, Mars, Artemis and space in general as well as some rides (a VR and the Morphis). Then there’s the tram tour, which takes you onto the grounds of the NASA Johnson Space Center facility itself, where you can see actual working government facilities, as well as historic locations like the original Mission Control room. This tour is about 60-90min. They ask that you walk up which is about 110 steps unless you’re absolutely unable to. Then you can take a limited capacity elevator. The other tram tour took us to the Rocket Park that is home to Little Joe II. Little Joe II was a single-stage, solid-propellant rocket . It was used from 1963 to 1966 at the White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico for five unmanned tests of the Apollo spacecraft Launch Escape System (LES), and to verify the performance of the Command Module parachute recovery system in abort mode. Named after a similar larger rocket designed for the same function in Project Mercury, it was the smallest of four launch rockets used in the Apollo program. The Astronaut Training Facility was unfortunately closed. From the rides we only did the Morphis, it was $7/8 person but not bad. The Children’s area was disappointing though. I expected more hands on activities. Lots of food is available at the ‘Food Lab’ but nothing terribly exciting and at a premium price. Pizza was sad, Texmex and beyond meat burger was just okay. There’s a coffee shop with some yummy treats. There was also a food truck outside but we didn’t check that out. We spent 6.5hrs there and it would have been longer of the third tram tour was available as well. Definitely a long and tiring day that you’ll survive with lots of water and snacks. Website said no food or drinks so we didn’t take any with us but we saw a lot of people did. Parking is a flat charge of about $10. Would have been nice if it was free. We had an issue with our tickets online (my youngest who is under 3 got charged full price but customer service was kind to reverse it on the spot! Overall, really good experience!

Very interesting and educative site. Fun trailer sightseeing, taking the train to the future, entering the virtual moon was so realistic. We definitely had our mind blown, and my little future astronaut couldn’t be any happier.

Not the most convenient location for sure. The center feels a bit dated and more carted for young children. Most exhibits were static displays from the Apollo era. Quite informative for space enthusiastic. The tram guides were ok, the staff mostly read from scripts while bringing you to tour the site. For the mission control guide u will need to book online prior to visiting. The astronaut training guide can be booked on site. The visit to the rockets need not be booked and on a first come first served basis.

I've been here four times now since moving to the Houston area, so I would say that it is worth visiting at least once. It is very easy to get around, and obtaining tickets is also pretty easy even on busy days. The staff are friendly enough, and the public engagers (I'm not sure what else to call them) are very energetic and can keep the audience's attention fairly well. The layout of it is nice in the sense that you can start with the "beginning" of NASA and finish with what is most current and future plans (along with an optional gift shop right before you leave). I will say that every time I go, I am never able to get on the tram for one reason or another. It takes you around the area of NASA outside of the main building, but other than that, I'm unsure of what it has to offer as an experience. The food is priced a theme park rates and no food/drinks are allowed from the outside, so plan for that if you're trying to budget. Overall, it's a place I take most of my friends who are visiting Houston and are interested in science to some degree. Definitely not for the ones who just want to relax or who don't care about science-y stuff.

Awesome history of the US space program. Great hands on exhibits for the kids, tram ride to the systems building and rocket park. Saw a talk with an astronaut and a ton to learn. Everything is very up to date and recent with Space X and Artemis / Orion features. Protip - get a membership to walk right in and don't have to pay for parking!

A bit boring if you’re not a kid. The only fun part was the tram tour. They have a lot of cool areas that look neat but just feel like you’re walking in a museum and not living an experience. The VR experience cost even more money and was an hour long wait, so we didn’t bother with that. I’m glad I didn’t pay more than $60 for two of us to be there, because it’s really just gifts shops, different exhibits with facts and real space gadgets and then a tram tour. It’s worth it if it’s your first and last time going. Overall could have been more fun but still educational if you’re into that.

My husband and I chose to go to the Kennedy space museum during our honeymoon. Let me just say I was NOT disappointed. I was confused at first when we rode the bus. I thought we just went around in a circle but we went to a totally different building! I really wish we would’ve gone for 2 days so we could properly enjoy it and not have to rush. Overall 10/10 would go again. The bus drivers were nice, it was very clean and informative. They had water bottle stations and a lot of tables to sit and eat. The bus lines went by pretty quick too.
