Great place to take the kids and/or anyone. Beautiful place to explore with animals most people wont ever see in real life. The layout and walk path is easy going and very immersive. I personally fell in love with the freshwater pond filled with fish, stingrays and turtles. Will definitely be back just for that! AND to see the komodo dragon again

Wow! Such a cool experience. They did such a great job of the rainforest so creative! Once again though I wish they’re had been more interactive things for toddlers to do.

Super Cool...a definite yes! Bought the $60 package for all the Pyramids and shows. This one is my favorite of the 3 Pyramids by far. Amazing birds, insects, bats, fish...and the plants...wow. There are even MONKEYS! All living together. Truly a beautiful experience! Worth it 100%

Lots of fun seeing rainforest animals, many of them not in cages or nets walking or flying around you! Understandably hot though so make sure you're well hydrated beforehand. It's pricey but the kids loved it.

This place is gorgeous 😍 I loved every inch of it! Gorgeous fauna, beautiful animals, and an amazing waterfall! It was so cool to enjoy a rainforest experience right here in Texas!

Super cool! Did the combo pack of the aquarium and the rainforest. Amazing. So many animals in the rain forest I wasn’t expecting. Look for the monkeys, so cool and will get really close to you too! Gorgeous place with lovely staff.

Great place to look at birds, plants and even a few animals. However, I hope you know everything about them already, as there isn't much information about them to read around the exhibit. So unfortunately, it wasn't very informative but it was very pretty!

Im giving this review 4 stars because they are in the middle of renovation so some of the exhibit was closed in the pyramid. Most of the inside exhibits were extremely dark making it hard to see the animal. I understand most were noturnal but, they need to figure out a better way to display these animals without disturbing the animals. Its a little warm upstairs due to mimicking their natural environment. There are beautiful birds, some walk around freely as you tour. I enjoyed most of what I seen but was disappointed the part that was closed. I will go back once renovations are finishing and give undated review.

This place is the best!!!!!! We saw so many birds and animals inside of this pyramid and had such a wonderful time! There were several birds that came right up to us and let us pet them, the fish are HUGE and there are so many awesome spots to just stop sit and enjoy the beauty around you. The employees are SUPER friendly and helpful, they took the time to teach us about several of the different birds and monkeys, we got to watch them feed some of the birds and it was a fantastic experience. I HIGHLY recommend the Rainforest Pyramid, as long as no one is afraid of birds, it will be a fantastic experience for the whole family!

It was a great experience, our children enjoyed it, they had plenty to see. The otters and monkeys were my favorite. However, bring walking shoes and lightweight clothing because it is an extremely humid environment.

I really enjoyed it. Its nostalgic. I felt like a child going on field trip. This place smells and feels like a real rainforest, it’s really humid inside but its so nice of them to put up a lot vents for tourists when they feel hot and sweaty.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! Probably my new favorite Houston tourist spot. Open area inside the pyramid - thought it was going to be very touristy and commercial, but it's at our own pace with lots to observe - birds, sloths, plats, ants, and a monkey. Could do with less strollers - but still a ton of fun!

This is a very unique biosphere and the room temperature is very warm inside the pyramid. This is what a tropical rainforest looks like. Especially if you're in Costa Rica or Hawaii.

If you ever wanted to get up close to animals, this is the best place to do so. Various birds, monkeys, lizards, and ducks. Alongside the Beautiful Blue Macaws. Loved this place and you may not be able to see them well but my favorite was the 2 Cayman lizards they have with the bats

Very pretty tropical experience! My daughter loved seeing the wildlife and the staff was great! Shout out to Gabby for showing me the way to the restroom for my toddler and letting us back in so we could catch back up with our party! She was super sweet and went out of her way to wait by the door while my toddler did her business.

We love this place and have visited multiple times over the years. The variety of plants is amazing in the animals are all around you. Beautiful exotic birds walking around the nooks and crannies around the bases of the plants OR walking the path in front of you, searching for nesting items. It's hot. It's humid. But they do a great job at giving you little places of cold air where you can stand and cool off.

A very neat display with a ton of different birds, animals, and fish free roaming throughout the display. You find one animal to only look 2 feet from you and something else would be nestled behind a palm leaf. Food isn't horribly expensive for a vacation spot like some other places I have been. My teens loved it and we enjoyed the 4d movie as well.

The attraction was pretty amazing. It's an open rain forest environment where birds, monkeys, and sloths are able to move freely. It did seem a little short though for the price.

Moody gardens is definitely worth a look at for sure. I recommend to go at least once! Tons of things to look at and we'll maintained. We went during the week so it was pretty quiet which allowed us to take in everything at our own pace. We did the tickets that include everything even though I feel it's hard to enjoy everything in one day considering everything opens at 10am and closes at 4 pm. There's simply just too much to see and do. As for the rainforest pyramid itself. There's alot of exhibits along the path that guide you from the top down. The first and upper level is pretty hot and humid bit there is ac vents you can stand by to stay cool (big plus) some of the animals are free range inside and some are in exhibits. This was great as my son enjoyed seeing the birds and monkey walking around ( nothing ever came too close for comfort) the exhibits had alot of cool things like bats and a komodo dragon. I really liked it. We came back in 2018 and everything kind of seemed the same but well maintained. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Robin The B. 5 months ago on Google
Best part of all moody gardens. Only recommend buying the all-day pass on sale. Otherwise, don't buy it and only get the 2 pyramids deal. Unless you have kids under 10, the rest of the stuff is super lame.

  • 4/5 kaylyn c. 6 months ago on Google
Very neat experience, we took my 3 year old and she wasn't super interested in it but loved the aquarium so much!! I really enjoyed both experiences, I hadn't been here since I was a child as I'm from dfw. The prices are pretty steep but worth it for a family vacation outing.

  • 4/5 Jeffrey B. 5 months ago on Google
This location is a good one to go to if you can’t make it to the National Zoo in DC! This rainforest has the same feel. A lot of the attractions were closed but again what they lacked in animals, they made up for in their service!

  • 5/5 Meaghan D. 7 months ago on Google
We took our Junior Girl Scout Troop and it was so great! There was tropical birds walking and flying around. The vegetation was absolutely gorgeous too! There was a few animals we didn't see, they were being shy lol! The leaf cutter ant structure was really neat too! The anaconda are was interesting as well. The upper canopy area is humid as expected but they have little cooling stations to help out! I'd recommend this place for all ages.

  • 5/5 Valerie H. 4 months ago on Google
Such a wonderful exhibit, especially for a rainy day! There were lots of animals walking about like a sloth and a few monkeys. Also saw several bats and was particularly excited about the plants-nearly all of which were labeled. Went with a two year old and the path was extremely stroller friendly and the staff was incredibly helpful. Highly recommend!

  • 5/5 Rhonda A. 1 year ago on Google
The rainforest was really nice. It is humid, so be prepared for that. Some of the animals hide pretty well (Mr Sloth). So try to take your time and really look around. There are little surprises throughout. It was nice to see all the different species of animals and plants.

  • 4/5 Robin M. 9 months ago on Google
Very nice visit, but extremely hot🔥in this heat wave in the top of the pyramid. Thank goodness for air-conditioned areas. The bottom of the pyramid was much cooler. Enjoyed it nonetheless.

  • 5/5 V R P. 1 year ago on Google
Price is typical for such a unique family attraction. However, much less expensive if making the trip to the real Rain Forrest. All your senses participate in the experience. Seriously, all the senses join together so you may feel what an actual Rain Forrest is all about should you want to move there someday. But the guides with all the knowledgeable insights would be extra if you took that trip on your own. Such a great family adventure to share later, may it be talked about or when sharing photos or videos you took yourself. Enjoy

  • 5/5 Wendell B. 2 years ago on Google
Some very exotic animals. The monkeys were really fun. Turtles, fish, enormous fish (seriously, you'll be surprised), monkeys, birds, amazing sized plants. It really is a great experience to walk through.

  • 5/5 Colleen D. 1 year ago on Google
So many beautiful birds all around. Just the interesting exotic plants & trees make it worth the trip! We got to see a female Saki monkey, too! And don't miss the fish! If you appreciate nature at all- this is a great place to go and to let your children learn about nature too.

  • 5/5 Sarah P. 10 months ago on Google
So beautiful! The birds are everywhere flying free and the fish and turtles are incredible. The plants are magical - I don’t see how they have managed to create such a healthy ecosystem in a literal giant greenhouse. We can’t wait to come back! Hopefully when the kids are older we can have time to just sit on one of the benches and relax. Love their nocturnal animal enclosures too - the porcupine was ADORABLE and the bats are so cute. Even on Memorial Day weekend it wasn’t super busy. Please keep in mind that the “Canopy” level of the Pyramid is super hot - when you walk in you will be SWEATING - but as you descend down the layers of the forest it get a LOT cooler and becomes very comfortable.

  • 5/5 Pete J. 10 months ago on Google
The Rainforest Pyramid was amazing and our favorite part of the day we spent at Moody Gardens!! Lots of informative signs to learn about all the plants, and we were surprised to see real animals like sloths and parrots. Very well done! We bought the $75 Value Pass and spent the day.

  • 5/5 Jerry G. 10 months ago on Google
It's truly amazing. Both the wildlife and the exotic palms, ferns, and trees. Stepped into another world. Very well done with exhibits from the forest canopy to the ground and water below. Inspirational and sad. Eye opening, to say the least.

  • 5/5 Darren J. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful exhibit with very interesting birds, fish, monkeys, and plant life. I was consistently drawn to the plants just as much as the birds and animals. A wonderful experience!

Great place for a family visit. Nonprofit organization that does a lot of work in the Galveston area. I found out from a local that it started as an equestrian center for rehabilitation type purposes. The 5D and 4D shows are the best quality I've ever watched on screen.

  • 5/5 Adam V. 2 years ago on Google
We came here on a cold day in January and the top level of the pyramid was extremely humid and we certainly weren't dressed for it, but I'm not letting that affect my rating because that was to be expected. These place was a blast and extremely educational. We'll be back when our 2-year-old gets a little older. Make sure to check out the Aquarium Pyramid as well.

  • 5/5 Angeles F. 2 years ago on Google
Went on a field trip there with my grandson and we loved every bit of it!! We couldn't stop talking about the different types of bats there is! Pictured here are a lizard 🦎, a fruit bat 🦇, a green & red lizard, two monkeys 🐒,, a flamingo 🦩 and a seal 🦭!! An of course there's a lot more, I recommend it!

  • 5/5 Aydia E. 1 year ago on Google
Best pyramid straight up. Very personal and intimate experience with the animals. You get really close with not just the birds, but the monkeys as well. So beautiful. I think I need a trip to Costa Rica. 😼⛄🦦

We spent a rainy day at Moody Gardens. We really enjoyed the Rainforest. In fact, we went through twice in addition to visiting Aquarium and Ancient Caves 3D movie to search for the Monkeys and Sloths - found em'!

  • 5/5 Rachel S. 3 years ago on Google
The Rainforest Pyramid was a nice mid week getaway with the family. The staff was very much interactive while you tour the Rainforest, pointing out different species and where they can be found. It's definitely your responsibility to social distance from other patrons who are oblivious to personal space. Not a problem. We graciously let them enjoy themselves and waited until they moved on. Hand sanitizer is everywhere for you to remain safe. The food however is outrageous and not very appetizing. I suggest you eat before and save your appetite for some fresh seafood once you leave. All in all it was a good time.

Wonderful trip! Went to Galveston to celebrate anniversary and decided to drop by. I remember there being more butterfly exhibits last time I went (about 14 years ago) but there was still lots of information as well as lots of animals that were used to humans and posed for good pictures. Would highly recommend!

I came here during Thanksgiving weekend 2020 and enjoyed this Rainforest Pyramid quite a bit. We got to see so many animals up close like colorful birds and monkeys. The staff working there were very kind and are great at answering questions about the animals. I think we spent about an hour here. I'd highly recommend checking this pyramid out first!

  • 3/5 Haley L. 3 years ago on Google
VERY HOT on the top level. No one was around us at all and I needed to breathe for a second (was feeling woozy) so I removed my mask to get some air with no one around and mask patrol popped up. The aquarium side is much more enjoyable and seems cleaner than this pyramid. There was one monkey and beware fo bird poop and chasing you.

  • 4/5 Bruce W. 3 years ago on Google

I remember coming here as a kid when this was the only pyramid they had. I didn't see many butterflies this time but the faculty was well established and feels like a stroll through a real rainforest...SO it IS hot, humid, and sticky...don't complain! This is my favorite attraction here. We saw a sloth this time and quite a few monkeys and orchids. Makes me want to go to El Yunque or the Amazon! See you next time.

What a total surprise! When we decide to go to the Rainforest Pyramid we had no idea what we were in for. It was fabulously put together, wonderfully designed, and much larger than I had imagined. It literally felt like a canopy walk in Costa Rica, or a jungle walk in Nicaragua. It was raw nature inside a glass pyramid.
