This JW is conveniently located right by the galleria mall within walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. It does live up to the JW brand, but the entrance is not so presumptuous, even though it has a driveway leading to the main entrance. The room is spacious with modern and elegant furniture. I also found out that they've just renovated this hotel a year ago, so everything is still very new. But I felt they could have utilize the space more effectively with better design. They do have very good room service that replaces all the used amenities daily. The lounge is excellent like most of the JW around the world, and serves breakfast 6-11am. There's usually one hot item that gets rotated, but the rest stays the same for the 2 days I ate there. Although I rarely stay at the same hotel twice, especially when there are so many Marriott properties around, I wouldn't mind staying here, should I come back to Houston again.

Service, especially front desk and complimentary shuttle were excellent. The self parking under the building was wet and dank and a little gross to wheel a bag over. I found the quality of the rooms to be well below what I associate with a JW Marriott and frankly unacceptable for this price point. I was in an executive suite and I don’t think the bathroom had been updated in 15 years. I would always choose to stay at the JW Marriott Downtown Houston over the galleria location; the rooms downtown are so much nicer, there is no comparison. Trust me.

Overall I didn’t experience the Marriott culture. Check in was disappointing. I reserved a king room. When I got there they gave me a Double. I tried to call the front desk and no one answered. I went downstairs and the lady at the desk appeared put off by my request. I guess there was a football team there that weekend and they needed King rooms for the players. Anyhow, when I mentioned no one answering the phones she just said “it’s because we only have one person manning the phone”. No apology, just an excuse. I was given a king room that was Handicapped equipped. Not what I expected being a platinum elite member. Very dismissive. The room was so so. The sink was slow to drain and the toilet paper holder was broken. I would think that JW was one step above Marriott. The best part about our stay was the lady that managed the club lounge. She obviously had proper cultural training. Her response to any request was “my pleasure”. I think there is a lack of training and leadership at this location. As an upper level establishment I feel JW Houston missed the mark. Our stay was Dec 15-18 2022.

All around, great stay at this JW Marriott in Houston. We were checked in by an awesome gentleman at the front desk. My room was clean, comfy bed and crisp sheets. Great location across from the Galleria Mall. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and very courteous. Would stay here in the future when in Houston.

Great stay, apart from having the electricity and water shutdown for a day and more due to power outage in the area, they should’ve had emergency transforms to power the electricity. Nevertheless, the perfect location across the galleria. Smooth check in and check out service. Great staff. Not really a modern hotel or luxury stay but it’s above mid-level for US hotel standards. Room service was done on daily basis and they did an excellent job. Parking is very ideal with many available slots, despite it’s a bit pricy. I appraise the hotel for giving a discount to compensate for the power outage. That’s very considerate from them. Would highly recommend this hotel

Front desk and valet really wonderful. Room was spacious and clean. Great breakfast buffet. Only suggestions are for better overall service in restaurant. Really important for greetings to be friendly and welcoming, & better overall teamwork for the prices. Fitness area is amazing! Would love to see rollers and stretching bands up there for our backs. Pool area so pretty. Some sort of fountain might cover up the traffic sounds? Neighbors across the hall were really noisy after midnight. Not sure if hotel can do a walk around sometimes? Wold love filtered water available near ice machines. Hallways were very pretty and clean.

Came here for a work event - a 1.5 hour networking and lunch event. Spent an additional HOUR trying to get out of the self park parking lot. Rather than just opening the gate and letting us go, they made sure we each paid our ransom before we could leave.

Good rooms. Not the best JW. The one in Austin is better. Front desk people are friendly. The bartender lady however is rude. The food at the hotel is awful. Had the Margarita pizza and its not a real Margarita. It was thick crust with so much cheese. I wanted to throw up after 2 slices. The lunch buffet we had for our meeting was awful. The chicken was dry. The mahi was even worse. The mac and cheese was bland but not the worst. The green beans and asparagus seasoned weirdly. Just bland American food. The breakfast buffet was better. Perfectly cooked eggs, french toast was yummy. Coffee was ok. Service from the Spanish folks was outstanding though. Rooms were cleaned really well. Overall recommend for the rooms but stay away from the food at this hotel and the bar.

Great location. The rooms smell like a hospital room and old and they need to be updated. They also need to realize that it is 2023 and as a luxury hotel they have to offer charging for EV's in the garage.

The hotel is nice, just the location not that great. The rooms are nice and spacious. Staff is very friendly and the Breakfast was good. There is a Buffet style breakfast available, but I had a la carte, which was enough for me.

The Rooms are clean and the Location is very good. And what I really liked is that there is a coffee Shop inside from the Hotel. They have very tasty Coffee and Bagels and Sandwiches. The Women who is working there is so friendly. The only Thing what is not so good are the opening hours because they closed at 11 am and this is too early. I really hope that the Hotel Management think about it and test it to keep the Store longer openenddiskussion and do more advertising for the coffee Shop.

The halls smell like mold and dirty funk. Room was clean and looks old. The convention bldg is a 5. Very nice and doesn't smell or look used. The service foe parking is good and employees friendly. I'm not big on old smells which were in the Halla of the rooms which is why I rated a 3.

We chose to stay near the Galleria because this area is known to be safer than other parts of Houston. The parking garage, however, did not feel safe at all. It was dark, dingy, and anyone could get a ticket to enter (even those who were not guests at the hotel). Once you park your car, you take an elevator to access the hotel. Waiting around for the elevator felt like an eternity, as I was on high-guard checking my surroundings over and over. The hotel room itself was very basic. No coffee maker (you have to pay for coffee downstairs), no microwave, no refrigerator. The mattress was uncomfortable, the comforter was thin and felt like just a sheet. My husband and I both tossed and turned all night. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything your neighbors said or any time they flushed the toilet. The couple staff members we interacted with were nice, but overall I was not impressed and would not stay here again.

This rating is given due to the way the morning shift manager "greeted" us. While her treatment of I and my wife was far less than respectable, please do not let this rating reflect on the other employees there. The evening front desk personnel were absolutely terrific and even remembered us from a visit several months ago. The restaurant staff were immaculate in their service, treatment of us, and it was easy to see that they genuinely cared about their customers. The Saturday morning manager? If she's there, I don't want to go back to this location.

The staff at the executive lounge was great and always pleasant to be around during my 10 day stay. Will definitely come back to this hotel in the Galleria! Thanks

Rooms were great, and the beds were comfortable, but the pillows sucked. Staff was beyond incredibly good, nice, accommodating, and eager to serve.

I was having a mediocre stay but I'm glad a said something to the front desk associate (Sybil) who did everything she could to turn my stay into an incredible one. I truly appreciate you Sybil, you went above and beyond to give me excellent service. My family and I are grateful. If you're looking for a convenient, comfortable stay walking distance from the galleria, look no further. My family and I will certainly be back to stay in the future.

We had the absolute joy of staying at this hotel for a few days. It was by far the nicest, well kept and clean hotel I have been to in a long time. The people were amazing, the kindness was amazing and all of the service we received throughout our stay was exceptional. Then we get to the food, we had a private buffet line for breakfast and the omelette station was by far one of the best I have ever experienced. I highly recommend this hotel for many reasons and I don’t believe you will be disappointed at all. I have stayed at many hotels, this s one I could have a lot longer in and been happy. I just pulled out the old Marriott book about customer service, this hotel nailed it in spades.

Had a great stay! Rooms were nice and clean. Shower was a little backed up but it was okay. Location isn't the best but that's expected near the Galleria. I still recommend it because service was great and rooms were great.

Everything here is pretty great. Smells nice. Staff is friendly, some of the infrastructure is dated, painted over. The food is also nice, also the in room TV is pretty nice. The towels aren’t great and the sheets are soft, but not fluffy if that makes sense. Also the air conditioning in the room is great.

This was my second stay at this location. The atmosphere was superb! The staff is awesome as well. The Galleria is literally across the street if you want to do a little high-end shopping. Parking is underneath the hotel for about $25-$30 per night. Valet is available as well for about $48. I'd recommend a high floor room as the views are beautiful at night.

The hubs and I have stayed in this hotel many times. It was our official wedding hotel and the staff was lovely during our visit. The valet team assisted me with getting my dress and other essentials out of my car. The bellhop took great care with transporting my things and helped get me to my limo the next morning. It's how a wedding weekend should be. Be it for a romantic weekend or wedding bells, this hotel is the perfect backdrop.

This hotel is great. Excellent service, very nice rooms. The location is fantastic, central to a ton of restaurants and shops. I will be back here every time I'm in town for business.

Lovely property located near the Galleria and multiple restaurants and shops. Dipped in the pool and worked a convention there. The bar downstairs was nice with a variety of cocktails, beers and wines. I'd stay here again !

Thanks to Marriott Bonvoy, I was upgraded to a suite. Amenities were decent, although there was no bar soap in the room. The facilities were nice and the staff was very responsive to my team's unique transportation needs. Overall, good experience and I look forward to staying there again. Photos are of the concierge lounge.

Our fraternity had a regional conference there these last few days. I live in the area so there was no need for me staying overnight at the facility... All amenities were great for the brothers and the hotel was/is a good host. The issue I had is the parking. I was double charged for both days. The parking advises you to bring your parking ticket with you and to pay in the looby when leaving. Even after paying in the lobby, i was charged again at the gate. Even on the last day, there was an attendant at the gate and I mentioned to him that I upstairs, that didn't matter. You can do better Marriott!

Exceptional hotel. Service was phenomenal from everyone I interacted with. The rooms were well appointed with refrigerator, robes, quality bed and linens. I was only bummed there was no tub in the bathroom. Location is great too with a mall and several restaurants nearby.

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your place. They compare countless booking websites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of my favorites in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you decide to stay here you won't be let down. Exceptional hotel. This was one of the best stays I've ever had. I had the pleasure of meeting Allen in valet and Jenni at the front desk and they were two of the most personable people I've ever met. Both of them (and the entire staff) were incredibly helpful during my stay. Allen went out of his way to save me a trip to the parking lot and Jenni went out of her way to make sure a package of mine went out to the courier on time while I was not at the hotel. The entire staff at this hotel is truly amazing - made me feel like I've known them my whole life.

As a Marriott club member this particular stay hands down was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Juliet - I can not rave enough about her. From the greeting at the desk, seamless check-in to enhancing our overall stay and making it feel like a home away from home. Juliet was so kind and well mannered in my difficult transaction situation! This was such a great weekend with my girls and kind staff in hospitality, retail etc… is so hard to come by. JW - please praise your staff for the things you see and even the things you don’t. Thank you Juliet and the bartender Cecilia and the one from my stay this morning made a mean Espresso Martini. Just all around kudos! 🤎
