Always heard great things about this place but never wanted to spend money on myself to go. Thankfully my husband got me a certificate and I am so glad I went. I can honestly say if you go in for a massage you are getting so much more with your money. The heated Jacuzzis, pools, poolside service, nap room and self serve coffee and tea. It was great and will return and be gifting this in the future as well! Staff is superb as well.

This is a remarkable hotel in a beautiful setting. We attended an event and stayed for 3 days. The hotel decorations for the event were spectacular. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are nice with excellent toiletries. The rooms are clean and impeccable. We can hear sounds from outside so higher floors are better. The staff are highly professional, friendly and prompt. Since the event catered most of the food I cannot comment on the restaurants. The gardens are nice to go for a stroll despite being in the middle of the city. The resort had many facilities which I did not use. The botanical garden is only half a mile away with plenty of parking. If you are planning an event this place is a must. The staff will ensure it will be an outstanding success!

During the time the Trellis spa was closed for renovations my husband purchased me a giftcard for a 50 minute massage from the front desk of the Houstonian hotel and was told he could use it at Trellis when it opened or at Solaya spa. Fast forwarded a couple years later we wanted to celebrate our anniversary and use the giftcard for my services we were told it would cost more then what the giftcard covered because services at Solaya were cheaper. The giftcard doesnā€™t have an amount on it, Itā€™s for a service, so we asked to speak to a manager who was a woman (canā€™t remember her name) but she was very rude and said my husband couldnā€™t have purchased it there and she would not accommodate the giftcard without us paying more. We were planning to stay at the hotel and use the spa but decided not to because this manager was very rude. If the giftcard stated a dollar amount instead of a service thatā€™s totally understandable but it did not, you guys lost a customer for the spa and hotel because this manager chose not to be accommodating. Since the spa manager was rude we decided to call the hotel and asked for a manager and was told she was busy and would give us a call back, we never received a call back. Would have liked to spend our anniversary weekend here but decided on the St Regis instead.

I used to drive Uber and drop passengers off at this location. Now, my wife and I spent 3 days there, and all I can say is, that the staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice (and use Bulgari products), and the staff at the Tribute Restaurant are very nice, especially Gonzo. If you get a chance, save your pennies and visit. It is well worth it.

First, valet parking was busy and the guy told me to do self parking. It was 9pm and it was pitch black around me. Had a hard time to find garage. Had to carry my bag and look for a front desk. There were no signs in a garage and there was no one around. I was freaking out. I was scared. Finally, found a front desk that was completely covered in dark. Got my key and did another scavenger hunt to find my room 303. The room didnā€™t look like anything like one on the website and the AC was super loud located just above the bed. Called the front desk complaining about AC and she said she will send the maintenance guy. He came shortly after that, said nothing could be done about that. 10 min later, the front desk lady brought me a different key and said I could move to the different room down the hallway. Iā€™ve packed my bags and went to 307. Key didnā€™t work after a few attempts. I just sat on the floor next to the door and started crying. I was tired, I was scared and I didnā€™t wanna go for look for the front desk again. I called the hotel number and they connected me the the front desk. It was already close to 10 pm. The lady came with the new set of keys and I finally enter the room. I was never scared for my own safety like that night. The hotel was like a ghost town. What a story. Right? Hope this review might help other women who are looking for a safe and secure place to stay.

My review is about food and the sorry attempt from the Houstonian chef and his/her team to make a Spanish themed dinner reception. My sincere advisedā€¦stay with Texas fare. Do not try this at home! The paella was bland, the ā€œgazpachoā€ should be liquid, not a menestra type of soup, the ā€œgambas al ajilloā€ tasted like plastic and ā€œrabo de toroā€ which is a venerable Spanish dish is supposed to be eaten in a proper plate, not served in a small soup bowl! Regarding desertsā€¦flan is flan not pannacota, and churros with chocolate is something total different from what was served. They got the chocolate right to be fair. Lastly, in a Spanish themed dinner, not being able to serve wine from the largest wine maker country in the world is ā€¦problematic. It has nothing to do with the very good Californian wines that we were served, but honestly, an establishment like the Houstonian should be humble and professional to admit they canā€™t and should not try to attempt a Spanish dinner. Service and facilities are first class but Spanish food should not be tried at the Houstonian under no circumstances unless you get the staff a passport and send them to a gastronomic tour around Spain or maybe have them dinning at BCN or MAD right here in HTown.

I had an interview with Cindy and Lara in the Catering Sales and Conferences department, which was very uncomfortable to say the least. The Senior Conference Manager, Lara, made several references to Texas having ā€œoppressive heatā€ and their staff being ā€œall kindsā€. The Director, Cindy, uncomfortably tried to change the subject a few times instead of acknowledging the clear prejudice behavior. Cindy also asked questions such as ā€œWould you say your pushy towards other departments?ā€ and ā€œHow would you deal with a client getting on your nerves?ā€ as if these are appropriate questions to ask any interviewee. There was definitely an underlying tone the entire interview. It seems as if theyā€™re only interested in certain type of people working and staying at the hotel. The only enjoyable experience was the Valet, which was very helpful.

My friendā€™s wedding and rehearsal were hosted at this hotel. I was in the bridal party and stayed here as well. The wedding was absolutely stunning and couldnā€™t have gone more perfect. I also really enjoyed my stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and nicely decorated.

This place has changed since Covid. I guess they lost a lot of employees. Everything is different. I have eaten the same thing here for the last 17 years for a meeting we had here. I haven't eaten my meal in three years, so I ate here the other day. Not the same at all... Totally different. My meal was not nearly as good as it used to be... Everything changes I guess...

This trip was fraught with problems, but with each problem there was a prompt and efficient solution presented to us by the manager Gerard. Kristi was also a delight who was happy to take a picture of myself and my mom. When there was no microwave in our room, one was brought up quickly and we were informed that we did receive the discounted rate for the suite. The reception is not great due to the numerous tall trees in the area. There is also not a free breakfast included with the high cost of the rooms. There is only a wine fridge in the suites, not a regular mini fridge. However, the staff previously mentioned were remarkably accommodating and all of the less than pleasant elements of our stay were negated by the beautiful scenery and perfect weather. Overall, the stay was memorable and delightful even if it was not as high end as we expected.

Not sure what the excuses are but they can do much better. Arbor grill took way too long getting our order out, and it their limited menu is disheartening. Itā€™s been like that for 2 years. Half the time they are out of items. First excuse was Covid now itā€™s probably all the construction. Letā€™s see if they do full service again at the pool. Hope someone reads this and improve on food and service.

This place is amazing! Can't say enough good things about it. It is in the middle of Houston, but when you are there, it feels like an oasis. The service is fantastic and amenities are superb.

Overview: convenient and quick service, cozy rooms Staff: Super friendly and helpful for the most part. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to help, though we did have several funny miscommunications. From valets to front desk to the driver, everyone was willing to go the extra mile to make our stay convenient and seamless. Room: The room was spacious, beds were nice and soft, amenities sufficient and of good quality. Our room did get a bit bogged in trash after three days, as they did not take away dirty cups, plates, etc when cleaning or turning down the beds. Not sure why, but that's my only improvement. Extras: They surprised my friend with cake and champagne for her birthday, which was very sweet. But there was a confusing card saying "From Mom" when it was actually from the hotel. Took us a long time to figure this one out. Haha! The valets and driving service were very helpful, though the 3 mile limit for driving was a bit of a bummer since we needed to go a bit farther. We worked it out though. The valets service was convenient and OK in terms of price. Too bad breakfast and specialty coffee wasn't included. Felt like that would have been a nice touch. Summary: Was a great place to stay! If I'd been alone I would have loved a tub. But it was perfect for a girls' weekend. We just focused on having a good time, and the rest was taken care of.

I stayed at this phoneme all hotel this summer for over a month and it was wonderful. The staff were so friendly, they were fantastic. Such a good energy, all the staff, concierge, front desk, restaurant and restaurant management, room service. The restaurant manger was so accommodating and made we whatever I wanted so many different items that werenā€™t on the menu. The owners of the restaurant, the mangers and the. Heā€™d we so accommodating serving delicious food. The concierge, the rooms were very nice as was all of the building from the lobby to the outdoor areas etc. The front desk/concierge also went above and beyond for me. And the fact that has a country club that has everything including a wonderful gym, one of the best gyms Iā€™ve ever worked out at for all my weight lifting goals. Itā€™s not only the best hotel gym because most hotels have very average gyms, but like I said one of the best gyms. Wonderful spa and massage. Theyā€™re so many staff, services and amenities I could compliment. Best hotel Iā€™ve stayed at that has everything. I highly recommend coming here.

My husband and I came here for our 2 year anniversary & it was nothing short of a dream. We had massages in the morning then spent the whole day at the facility enjoying the sauna, hot tubs, pool, lunch, champagne, etc. Highly recommend!

I am giving them 5 stars because they are amazing. Personally I am not a fan of the steak but their level of service, unique menu and 5 star 5 diamond attention to detail makes it a win. Love the char grilled oysters. Best scotch selection in Texas

Service is always impeccable here. The five of clock traffic times can be a bit noisy sometimes, but that's what makes this place the spot to be at. Outdoor patio is nice to get that vitamin D and a quencher drink. If it gets too hot, head to the lounge area. Relax and make yourself feel at home. Houstonian will make it happen.

The Houstonian Hotel was the perfect location for my grandson's and future granddaughter wedding. Christopher at the front desk was unbelievably helpful and understood my needs. I really appreciate that! After the actual reception, at a different location, the next morning the grandparents of the bride and their future grandson had a phenomenal breakfast served in a private room.

The outer walking shells here are amazing and paved so nicely!! They both have uphill and downhill paths, inner & outer & they can go for a mile to 3 miles!! The outdoor gazebo and lighted tree are also a beautiful touch!! Absolute gem of a place!!

I walked in very late at night after a very delayed flight. The very nice lady at the desk was a pure delight. She got me checked in fast and even asked if I had eaten yet. When I said sadly no, she went on to suggest the in house bar and said room service goes until 2am. Fantastic service. Beautiful rooms.

Attended a wedding rehearsal dinner and conference here. Service is great, but thatā€™s what Iā€™d come to expect from a swanky place like this. Itā€™s right by the galleria so traffic is heavy during after work. Location isnā€™t bad but also not great (see comment about traffic).

I stayed at The Houstonian a couple of times before, but , I can honestly say this last one has been one of the best experiences I've gone through, I was going through a tough time and my attitude was not pleasant at the beginning, but the staff was very nice and friendly. I've worked on the customer service line for 8 years, and I know how rude and ungrateful people can be and expect the other person to take the disrespect and not match their energy. I am grateful for the staff Each day I met a new staff member and all of them were so respectful and kind.
