Over-rated and not worth the money. Stayed here 2 nights for my wedding excited because of everything I had seen online. The rooms were not cleaned well, and the tub I was excited to use was the same. Checking in wasn't that pleasant. I felt like I've had better customer service at holiday inn. The only thing that we appreciated was how attentive the valet was as well as the room service lady.

Stayed 2 nights in the king room with a whirlpool. There’s a $100 incidental fee per night per room. I booked directly through the Icon website and got the Discover Houston package. This includes buffet breakfast, valet parking (usually $45/night), and late checkout. When we arrived there was some sort of internet issue which caused our rate to be changed to a regular rate. Brought this up to staff and they were able to help us get all the perks we had been wanting when we booked. Everyone was super helpful and accommodating. Customer service is excellent and the food was great too. Rooms were a little dirty, but it didn’t really effect my stay. Remember to be kind to the staff and help the cleaners by not leaving your room a mess 👍 I think we’ll be back because that whirlpool was so relaxing

Enjoyed the vintage feel of the rooms and best/favorite part was the jacuzzi bath tab with the opening that opened to the living room 😂 Some things that we were disappointed in; - was the tv was awful - there was no IPhone/smart phone compatible device to use - there wasn’t even a clock radio for music during down time - no ice machine (although it was available to call room service for) Location was great being by market square with easy walking distance to places. Overall we did enjoy our stay but little details were missing.

Stayed at this charming hotel in downtown Houston. The location is great but we were disappointed the hotel doesn’t include parking (you have to pay an extra $45 for valet parking or find your own and walk a few blocks). The breakfast is also not included, it’s $25 extra. The rooms were nice and the decoration was beautiful. But the bathroom pipes were incredibly loud, every time a neighbor flushed the toilet or took a shower there would be a loud screeching noise. Also the water in the shower would not go down fast enough. I expected more from a 4 star hotel.

Best hotel in Houston. Our second time staying here and we had a fantastic experience once again. The food is great, the staff are friendly, and the housekeeping does their job very well! Our room was always clean. Valet staff were also fantastic as they were always on time and helpful. I’ll always stay here!

My experience was not good here. One bed room suite was very small. And I was able to stay til 4pm as ambassador status of Marriott but I was only permitted to stay til 2pm. House keeping keep on knocking on my door after 12noon. I cannot even relax by these knocking and i decided to leave early. This is not good customer service and I was rushed and quite disappointed. I do not think i will be back again in this hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Icon after our civil wedding at the historic courthouse downtown, and it was fantastic! The hotel vibe is really cool, and the rooms were unique, clean, & nice. The staff was awesome - Mallory (i think) at the front desk helped us with early check-in & handled many requests from our wedding guests. The bar service was also great; we shared a champagne toast in the lobby after the ceremony. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful. The rooms were great as well - the bathroom was very spacious, and there was plenty of room in the King room.

Amazing hotel! Fully restored, with old-world charm, classic decor, fine furnishings, luxurious detail. Centrally located for TUTS Theatre - Hobby Center For The Performing Arts (7 min drive; 14 min Light Rail; 17 min walk); Hotel is directly in front of Metro Light-Rail; great restaurants within walking distance, and perfect for afternoon strolls of downtown area. I had an opportunity to stay in one of the Penthouse Suites and I was thrilled! The ceilings must be fifteen feet high! Claw-footed tub; huge shower; stunning view of the city, spacious and exquisite. The breakfast buffet was perfect with eggs, meats, fruits, juices, pastries, cereals, yogurt, and of course plenty of coffee—and it kept me filled for the whole day. The gym was clean and spacious enough for me to do some aerobics. The only drawback was parking, as it is in the middle of the city. But I found a secure, covered parking garage two short blocks away, for only $7 per every 12 hours (805 Franklin St.) It was easy to pay - I just signed up on my phone and I was automatically charged when I departed at the end of my stay (see my review for that too!). (Hotel valet parking also available but quite expensive at $45.)

I really did love this hotel, the ambiance was nice. The valet was always timely and helpful and the front desk was fine. Some staff were much more welcoming than others but that’s okay. I stayed here to celebrate my birthday and all went well until I checked out and realized I left a pair of earrings in our bathroom. I called the next day and the lost found wouldn’t answer nor return my call. I called again and this time told the front staff, she checked and found nothing but said a manager would call me. It has now been a week and unfortunately, I have yet to receive any call from anyone. It’s unfortunate because I did enjoy staying here but if it truly was a luxurious hotel, my things would have been returned. Overall a nice stay, just don’t forget anything here or it will be taken.

This is a beautiful hotel! Friendly staff and good service. Our room was comfortable with a spacious entrance and bathroom. It was quite and we did not hear anyone around us during our stay. The only thing I will say is the bed was too soft for me. More soft than most hotel beds, I like my bed on the firm side. If you like character hotels this is a must stay!

The place is beautiful. The bartenders were great! They were the highlight of our stay! The bed was comfy and the whirlpool tub and shower were phenomenal! My only complaint is the place was SO hot! Our A/C didn't work in our room and the hotel was completely booked so we couldn't change rooms. We thought about changing hotels but decided to suffer through because the location was perfect. Everything that we had planned for the weekend was within a block of the hotel. Overall it was a great trip and I would probably stay there again.

I never leave reviews, but I have to leave a review after the extremely dirty room I experienced. I stayed at the hotel as part of a wedding block over the weekend. My room had hair balls in the sheets, Cheetos on the carpet, and red fake nails on the floor- I’m not sure the room was even cleaned after previous guest. Front desk did nothing. Don’t book here if you care about cleanliness.

The clubs/ bars are so loud next to the hotel. I did not know this coming in. There is nothing the hotel will do to accommodate. I had to ask for ear plugs, which they gave me, thankfully, but it is still so loud, you can hear the bass and screaming and car alarms through them. There wasn’t even a white noise machine. If you’re looking for a good nights sleep before 2am, this is not the place to stay.

I went there with my husband for a quick birthday getaway & we had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very clean, quiet, & cozy. The staff was excellent and even took time to share the history of the hotel, which was very interesting.

Very cool hotel that used to be a bank. The rooms are nice with tile bathrooms, jetted tubs and a shower. High ceilings and large windows (with lots of curtains) make it bright in the day and dark for sleeping. They have a breakfast you can buy and a bar that serves super late. The location is amazing plus they have a parking garage. We just explored by foot from there. Very nice staff.

Great hotel but HORRIBLE location! Paid for a King Delux city view. Little did my wife and I know we would be spending our anniversary night up all night due to the night club music. The noise was louder than a phones white noise. Sadly not sure we will be taking a chance on this again as I write this at 1AM in the morning because the noise is that bad.

We rented suites at Hotel Icon to get ready in before our wedding, and they were perfect. They were right next door to each other which was so convenient for pre ceremony photography. We also used them for our hotel block, and all the staff was responsive and our guests enjoyed staying there and chatting at the bar after the wedding!

Overall it was good... that's it just good. If you're staying here it better be for convience, the decor, or the jetted tubs. Any other reason doesn't make sense for the price. You can find cheaper priced hotels with better quality rooms. The valet was phenomenal though! Again the hotel isn't terrible. Just wouldn't spend the amount I did on it again.

The furniture was stained, but the rest of the room was clean enough. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating, and the room service from L&L was really good. I forgot the hotel was located near bars and clubs so it was a little noisy in the evening but I slept through it ok.

We had a great stay loved our suite and the large shower, The staff was wonderful always helpful when we needed. The hotel is limited in food offering which is understandable. The front desk gave us some excellent choices and needles to say we over ate at every place. We would like to mention Bradley, Jada at the front desk along with Omar the manager gave us good info of downtown. In valet Andres was very nice always had our car ready.

The shower pipes hisses all night. Valet was an absolute nightmare!!! and over priced!… the fact you have to pay that much even tho your staying there is wild. Staff tried over charging the security deposit. Would NOT recommend. It’s old, its basic, it smells. You can find way better for that price point. Don’t waste your money you can do better.

For the price that I paid to experience a 4-star hotel in downtown Houston, I was fully prepared to enjoy a nice evening in with a friend. Here are just a few things that encapsulate my experience at the ICON: The front desk attempted to overcharge me for incidentals by an additional $100 dollars, the valet told me the wrong price for overnight parking even though I asked three different times if the price he told me was correct, and the shower in our room would randomly start making high pitched squeeling every hour and a half. I could only make this stop by opening all the faucets and flushing the toilet EVERY HOUR AND A HALF. It's is an absolute shame that I have had a more pleasureable overnight experience at a Motel 6. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

Had a great evening! The hotel is beautiful and in a fantastic location. My 2 friends who had small issues with their rooms were gracefully accommodated by the staff. We had excellent drinks at the bar (Yang makes a great old fashioned!). My wife really enjoyed the room and wants to make it our ‘go-to’ hotel for Houston.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful an well decorated. Our room had such an amazing view both in the day and at night. The seeing the sun rise and set was one of the highlights of the room. I give the location a 4 star because although the area was nice when it came to the view, the party life downtown really takes away from the relaxation at night. With clubs being right across the street all you can hear is the loud music which was fun the first night but not so much the nights following.

Don't forget to use HotelDully.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This website will compare hundreds of hotel sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely will love it I'm sure! Best hotel in Houston. My recent five-night stay at the Icon Hotel (Autograph Collection) in Houston, Texas was an absolute delight. From the beautiful room with a great city view to the exceptional breakfasts and inviting bar, every moment was a testament to the hotel's commitment to excellence. The breakfasts were a great array of options that catered to all tastes and my gluten-free needs. From healthy choices to classics, each morning was a delightful culinary adventure. The bar was impressive, offering a sophisticated setting that quickly became a favorite spot to unwind. We were also extremely grateful to the staff's (and particularly Chef Ivan’s) dedication to ensuring our stay was perfect. The warmth and professionalism we experienced, combined with so many nice details in this historic hotel, created the perfect relaxing environment where we could deal with the serious purpose of our visit to Houston. If you're seeking a refined and welcoming stay in Houston, the Icon Hotel is an exceptional choice that I wholeheartedly recommend.

This resort is one of my favorites in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you won't regret it. I had a great stay, the staff was incredibly polite and helpful! Valet staff was AMAZING! Super friendly, super quick to retrieve my car. The room I stayed in was spacious and the shower was huge! I loved the details like the nook in the room with the well stocked coffee and tea station and the mini fridge was useful. Amenities were great. I only stayed 1 night for a graduation, but I will be back!

Loved staying here. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast buffet is perfect, and the staff are wonderful and accommodating. It is close to the Theater District, and it is within walking distance of many really good restaurants. I felt safe walking around the area both day and night. We will definitely return to the Hotel Icon on future visits. You won’t be disappointed if you chose to stay here.

Incredibly beautiful boutique feeling hotel located walking distance from many bars and restaurants, and the Astro's stadium. The rooms are gorgeous. Even the bathroom was beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything about this hotel beat my expectations. Even if you don't stay here, stop by for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

Stayed here recently for a work trip and I was impressed. The location was great, lots of restaurants and bars in the area. Hotel room was very clean and staff was great! The valet crew was amazing, very patient as I popped in and out of the hotel several times a day. Bed was comfy and the hotel bar was top notch. Do yourself a favor if you need to stay in Houston and book this place!

I was visiting for a conference and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel! They were fully booked, but made it a point to honor all my requests including that for a room on a high floor with a good view and an extra sofa bed. They also allowed me to check in super early and check out an hour late. The folks at the reception are wonderful and helpful. The hotel itself is gorgeous with its old world charm. (There are also stories of ghosts around 😳🫢) There’s so much history in this building. Id definitely recommend a stay here!

Very Beautiful Hotel with hot coffee and a great breakfast each morning. Very Friendly Staff , nice clean rooms and bathroom. I wanted to ask where did they order their napkins from the Women's Bathroom ( thick nice and soft ) The Rooms are Worth The Price

I absolutely loved this hotel. Front desk was so friendly. Valet parking is the only parking offered, but they also have a shuttle bus that’ll bring you a few places. We went out to eat for dinner at a restaurant nearby and were able to get a shuttle to and from. The staff was so nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious and the hotel smelled really nice.

I would have enjoyed it more if prices of things like breakfast were clearer. We felt a little bamboozled. But the staff are all great at their jobs and the hotel itself is classy and fun. I 100% understand why this was picked for us all to stay at for a wedding. Great choice!
