**11/23/23* 🍁fall review 🍂 I expected more of a bigger room, (photos don’t lie, right?..) Anyways rooms were average. But what can I say just glad I even got a room. They were kind enough when I gave them my car to park. Our room neighbors were very noisy at night, and I lost an hour of sleep :). Service was alright, took a little while when we asked for room service since one of our bedrooms sheets were stained and needed a replacement. Location was nice, especially the lobby I guess. Also the view of the bedroom was a parking lot, how nice.. 😊

Last month my husband and I had an unexpected (kid-free!) night to ourselves and excitedly booked a room at this hotel for a little Christmas getaway. At check in, a friendly receptionist told us that the main bar/atrium area was closed due to a private event, but we could still check out the restaurant for dinner (which I was a bit disappointed but understand that hotels sometimes have these kinds of events.) We went up to our room and noticed we were only given 2 hand towels and a washcloth for makeup removal, (no bath towels, washcloths or bath mat) so we called to request some be delivered while we were out. We headed down to the restaurant and were told they were completely full for the rest of the night and we would have to go elsewhere. (Room service was also an option, but our corner room had a small table and only one chair, so unless we wanted to eat on the bed our room was not very conducive to eating a nice dinner together.) We walked through the cold and wind several blocks to a neighboring hotel to find food. We got back to our room and had 2 bath towels left for us, but nothing else. It was late so we just managed with no bath mat or washcloths (I thought maybe no towels was a thing here or something?). I also really didn’t like the large toiletry bottles and countertop containers, kind of grossed me out thinking of how many people before me had touched (or potentially tampered with?) them. Overall I felt like our experience at this hotel left me feeling very disappointed and really affected our private night away together. I so wish we had stayed at a different hotel where we would have been taken care of a little more and not felt like we were just paying for a bed. This wouldn’t be that bad if you are seeking a bare minimum hotel experience, if you’re just looking for a quick overnight and all you need is a place to crash. But it definitely is not a “fun date night away” kind of place. At least it was not for us.

This hotel definitely deserves the mediocre reviews they keep getting. If I had to sum up the issues here it boils down to a total lack of attention to detail. The lobby is designed to be trendy/cool with ample space for a variety of activities but the music is borderline deafening at all times so good luck getting any work done. Looking for a bottle of water? Good luck with that too. There is no water in the rooms, the vending machines were empty on multiple floors, the store in the lobby is only briefly open, and there is no where in walking distance to get anything. Next up, the water in the bathroom. Weird problems abound – the shower takes forever to heat up and then drains incredibly slowly, while the toilets do not seem to flush. Hoping for well trained valets? Those are also missing! Multiple times we witness cars block both lanes such that no one could get in our out. What an incredibly disappointing place to stay under the Hilton brand.

Stayed here for just one night and it was a decent stay. The hotel room was a nice size and had a nice view of the city lights. There were a couple of issues I had with the room, first, there was not a coffee maker in the room which was very strange and upsetting for us since literally all other hotels have coffee makers. There was a "beverage cooler" in our room that only kept things room temperature so it didn't really make sense. The vent in the room was quite dirty. Another issue I had was that valet parking was $45/night and you had no other option. I'm aware that this is a common fee in Houston but it is still tacky regardless. The other issue was the $20-$25 "resort" fee we were charged that we were told covered wifi.. It's 2022.. you can go to motels and they give you free wifi so I didn't really understand for the price of this hotel why there were no amenities.. There weren't even individual toiletries in our bathroom.. just full size bottles that all guests can keep re-using which is very gross and unsanitary. Overall, I guess you only stay at this hotel for the views/location, not for much else.

Stayed here for one night. The hotel was beautiful. Loved the interior decorations. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. My only critique was that the shower water was barely hot. It got just a tinge warm. Very disappointing because I really wanted to enjoy the waterfall shower. The sink water was boiling hot so not sure of the discrepancy between the water temperatures.

When I got there the receptionist at the front was busy. Cool, I waited about 10 minutes before anyone else came by to greet me and check me in. I was kind, respectful, and once I was greeted. The gentleman was very kind also. Now, I understand there is self check-in but I’m old school. I like to get to know the staff and be greeted. That’s not the reason for my 3 star score. Once I got to my room I started sneezing and having allergy issues. The morning of check out I noticed the vents had, what looked like, mold build up. I’ll attach photos is possible. That upset me and I let the staff know. As far if anything has been done about it. I’m still not sure. Overall the restaurant and bar were spectacular! I would definitely come back here for drinks but I don’t think I’d stay another night.

My husband and I just went for a small get away for the weekend. We had an amazing time. The valet are nice and professional. We were so amazed by how beautiful the place is. The front desk staff made our stay even better. She set up a beautiful fruit tray, 2 wine glasses and rose petals everywhere. We had room 1525 and the view was so nice. They have a bar on first floor that really did not have a variety of liquor but it was very nice. Outside the bar there is a patio with lots of relaxing chairs. We plan on going at least twice a year. We can't wait to go back.

The hotel was a Perfect 5-star rating. The One Bedroom Corner Suite was amazing, and the food was excellent. The quiet and clean atmosphere really added to the experience, and the vibe with valet parking was phenomenal. The only downside was waiting at the bar for our food without being told it would be placed somewhere for us to pick up. We ended up waiting for 30 minutes, so the food wasn't hot. But other than that, it was definitely a 5-star stay! 🌟🏨🍽️

This has been the worst hotel I’ve every stayed at, I paid over $1,300 for the weekend and it’s NOT worth it. Starting off with the receptionist team. They are not respectful when you try to make a complaint they speak over you. My AC in my room was not working, I had to tell them twice through our Hilton app. AC was never fixed. Once I went downstairs to let them know for the 3rd time at 2:30AM that the issue hasn’t been fixed the receptionist who was helping me out was trying to be smart about her response why the engineer never went up to our room to get the AC fixed. Shower heads not cleaned very nasty & disgusting. Bugs in the shower. Valet team is disrespectful driving our vehicle very wrong. Valet driver Louis or Luis tried to get aggressive & disrespectful with my husband once my husband kindly asked him if he could not drive his truck like a crazy maniac.

Overall a really great experience! The rooms were nice and pretty clean when we arrived, I was rooming with friends. The food at the restaurant downstairs was delicious as well with adequate portion sizes. The pasta is what we had specifically, plus a couple of appetizers; the pasta itself is fresh and the flavors all compliment each other well! The meatballs are *especially* delicious. I do wish there were more plug outlets near the bed to use. No ironing boards in-room but there's steamers (they may be available on-request though, I hadn't asked room service). The bar downstairs is definitely where this place shined, especially with such friendly staff! Lara P. in particular made us all feel really welcomed; I'd highly recommend the drink she came up with as well, called 'Violet Eyes'-- it's very light and refreshing. Floral, with a bit of light lemon notes. Also super dangerous as it'll get you tipsy fast from how many you'll want to drink in a row! Thank you again for helping make our stay delightful, Lara and staff!

The room size, beds and our view were great! The service, however, was possibly the worst I've experienced. Not one person from the front desk ever welcomed us or showed any hospitality. The communication between valet, room service, and the front desk was non-existent. We requested an extra blanket and pillows from the front desk and were brought sheets. Another time, we requested bath towels and got small hand towels. When calling down for our car to the front desk, it was never relayed to the valet. which led us to wait over an hour every time we got our car. The front desk seemed irritated every time we spoke to them. We were incredibly patient and don't like making a scene or complaining, but this service was ridiculous, especially for what we paid for 2 nights. We've had better service at a Holiday Inn.

The staff at this hotel is outstanding and elevates the whole experience well enough where I’d definitely plan on returning again. Rooms: beautiful views, comfortable beds, and pretty decor, but fell short on really poor water pressure. This may have been isolated to just me so don’t let it hold you back from visiting. Decor: beautiful views inside and out, this hotel offers a lot of inspiring scenery for photo opportunities. Staff and Service: 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This hotel was great all around with the bar and the restaurants! The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Rosalie's is nice and so is the little coffee shop in the corner!! We were there for a work conference and it was very accommodating for large crowds without have to be all over each other. We had some great food service from the hotel for lunch with good food and the coffee was good!

We stayed here for our anniversary. The front desk staff is nice but that’s about the extent of the “niceties” when staying here. The room design is good - loved the style and the location allowed us to walk around downtown. We found the morning after our one night stay that the shower drain was clogged and resulted in the basin filling up with shampoo and soap residue. We also found that the fridge didn’t work - or really work well enough to keep things cool / safe for consumption. We went down for breakfast and were ignored by all employees and waitstaff for 30 minutes while others came in and received prompt service. All staff involved made eye contact with us - so they knew we were here. We finally went up to the bar to order and were then “magically” seen. It didn’t seem to be an “us” issue as when we got up to pay the bill I could see nearly every other table trying to make eye contact to get service, place an order, or refill waters. I hate to complain, but this is supposed to be an “upscale” Hilton - I get consistently better service at a normal Marriott. I won’t stay here again and kind of wonder if the “Curio Collection” is worth another try somewhere else.

This modern hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Houston. The interior decor is gorgeous, interesting, and different. I feel the photos don’t quite do it justice. From the moment you drive up you’re greeted with valet parking, the staff at the concierge desk are all friendly and knowledgeable, and the bell hops are incredibly thoughtful and helpful. The rooms were gorgeous and clean. We opted for a corner room with floor to ceiling windows and a gorgeous view of the city. We also received a daily food/drink credit with our reservation. We didn’t get a chance to try out the restaurant given there is just so much Houston has to offer in the area but we heard the food was good. We did use our credits at the bar for adult beverages and were big fans of “Como La Flor”. Overall, I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel and look forward to staying again for our next visit.

This is a nice hotel, not kid friendly so keep that in mind. Breakfast is very limited and there are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms, you can call down for one if it's available. The room walls are super thin...keep that in mind but the atmosphere is what you pay for along with its swanky lounge areas and downtown location. There are also no coffee makers in the room, so you have to go down and buy coffee....all in all, good but a few things could be changed in my opinion.

Pretty hotel but I think the finishes and modern touches distract from some basic needs. There’s no coffee in the rooms and the coffee bar downstairs doesn’t open until 8am. I stayed on floor four and it was incredibly noisy. Was woken up by women yelling/fighting outside the hotel at 4.30am. The rooms could also benefit from some more light as they were quite dim. The restaurant and bar looked really beautiful and I’m sad I didn’t get a chance to stop by them.

The Hotel has a very nice ambience as you pull up to valet but the "upgraded" corner room was not as exciting as it sounds--maybe it was the one room, but this is my first--probably my last--experience with this hotel. The bed was located right next to the A/C unit which was extremely loud and turned on and off all night--as it should--at least it worked?! And by worked I mean blew cold air... In the morning I discovered that the drain hole for the A/C was through a piece of PVC pipe, extended out of a hole that was cut in to the ceiling above the shower--uh...what?! You could not avoid the hole and there was zero attempt to even conceal the drain pipe. The receptionist was at least warm and inviting, though when I informed her of the A/C she asked if I called engineering. It was 2 a.m., no I did not want to be bothered with the hassle of late night maintenance (been there, done that-- no thank you) nor did I want the hassle of switching rooms for a 1- night stay. Lastly, the valet service was the worst I have seen in my years of using valet. Nobody there when we showed up and if looks could kill when I tried to find alternate parking only to find out this was not an option--MAN! My wife told me go with Marriott...I definitely am loyal to Hilton, but I doubt I will stay here when we return to Houston next winter. Oh, and the towels were as smooth as sand paper but at least the bed was cozy--that's what saved the little experience I did have with the room.

Great hotel, amazing lobby bar. Good meeting rooms. Excellent downtown location if that is where your business will be. The staff was amazing. Some things in the room could be updated or improved. But overall, great value.

I really enjoyed my weekend stay at C. Baldwin. Started with the friendly valet ($40/night), great and quick customer service from the front desk staff and very spacious rooms. I also can’t say enjoy good things about the hotel bar and restaurant, Rosalie, it was delicious. Alfred was my server and he was so nice and I highly recommend the snapper! I can’t wait until my next stay. Highly recommended. Plus it’s in a great area in downtown Houston.

  • 4/5 Ashley J. 7 months ago on Google
The hotel itself was beautiful. The rooms, at face value, were also quite nice. My only faults were the location left some to be desired if you were looking to walk around and explore, the bed could have been more comfortable, and the towels were not what I would have expected for such an expensive stay. I would recommend bringing your own pillow, towels, and shower toiletries and then everything is good.

  • 1/5 Kindall F. 4 months ago on Google
The hotel is super overpriced for the complete lack of amenities, and it’s just not a good hotel if you have children. There’s no complimentary breakfast. There’s also no kid’s menu so you’ll be paying 30 dollars for your kids plate alone, which they’ll probably take two bites of. There’s no pool, no smart TV. The shower didn’t drain properly, and the room service adds a gratuity, service AND tip charge on top of the inflated price. The lobby and bar is nice and the staff was nice (especially the man at the front desk, super sweet guy), but this place is a total cash grab. I have stayed at hotels for half the price and had a much better time and experience. Totally disappointing.

My company held and event here for 200 supervisors from all over for the weekend. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I always bring a tiny black light when I stay at hotels to see how clean they actually are and my room was very clean. The only bad thing I can say is the pillows are horrible and the towels are very scratchy. Many of us had major neck pain from the pillows. Other than that, this place was great! Would definitely stay again and bring my own pillow.

  • 3/5 Laryn M. 3 months ago on Google New
I would not recommend you choose this place. The doors slam so loud that if you have people leaving early (at 5am or 6am) you will be woken up. Or coming back late. Honestly, I saw a couple reviews that said price vs value, etc - not worth it. I agree. Maybe if they were $100/night. Also, it is a little confusing as to the $20 "resort fee" on top of your room rate and taxes/fees. Hilton corporate couldn't tell me WHY and WHAT it was for. There is no "resort" at this place. The restaurant on site has minimal hours, and menu available. The bar lobby is a typical bar in lobby. So just make sure to add $20 to what you see as your room per night. Good thing 1 - room was very very clean. I am very picky on cleanliness. The staff were friendly and I was able to easily use the digital key. Good thing 2 - shuttle service around houston city area is nice to have, and free. (Maybe this is the $20 "resort" fee) Good location. that's it. I wouldn't stay here, too many other options in walking distance to things.

Location was great. Was in town for work and everything was close. Room was OK. See photos below. The largest clump of hair I've ever seen left in the shower. How does housekeeping miss this? I brought it to the front desks attention. No apologies or anything. Just sent someone to clean it. Lackluster service really.

  • 5/5 Andes B. 4 months ago on Google
My visit here was great. The staff as a whole were great. The room was nice, the bar and restaurant were nice. The shuttle service was great that they provided. Which consists of a 2 mile radius. There were nothing to really complain about either the issue was resolved or accommodated.

  • 2/5 Deola A. 5 months ago on Google
The staff is exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The hotel on the other hand is far from 4 star quality. I was very disappointed (and disgusted) by how dirty the public bathroom and rooms were. I had to wipe down all the filthy touch points (light fixtures, remotes, bathroom handles, etc) and request new sheets from housekeeping. The location was perfect for the event I was in town for so that was a plus. Also, Johnny at Rosalia Restaurant was incredible and very attentive. The hotel definitely looks better than the quality that you get.

A mediocre experience in a fantastic location. Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend visiting Houston. The hotel is walking distance to Main St as well as very close to Montrose and River Oaks for great dining options. However, there is a "resort" fee the hotel charges you that you can't opt out of, for.... nothing. It gets credited to you for food + beverages, but when a single coffee is more than $5, and a cocktail is $16, the credit does not go far at all. And it's use it or lose it, so you didn't use it first day? Too bad. Valet parking prices are insane. Over $60 with tax included. Considering that the hotel isn't as central as it could be that's ridiculous. There is not really any good parking options nearby either. No coffeemaker in my room, and the mini-fridge did not work. No central light, so you have to use the bed lamps or the single corner lamp. Overall the hotel is really more style over substance. It's nice if you're not the one footing the bill, but if you are it really starts to wonder what you are paying for. Compared to other 4 star hotels I have stayed at, I am disappointed.

Total lack of respect and inexistant customer service! I had a package delivered by Amazon to the Front Desk, and the staff lost it or mistakenly gave to someone else. I contacted all possible areas and staff from the hotel and they simple don’t care. The General Manager doesn’t even care to reply an email. The Director of Rooms, who said he would solve, doesn’t deliver his commitment and probably counts on me forgetting about it. Worst hotel people and staff I ever saw. Really dishonest!

The staff at this hotel are absolutely wonderful. The employee checking us in asked if we were in town for a special occasion, and my Husband told him it was for my birthday. When we got to our room, the carpet was wet due to them recently cleaning the room. My husband called to let them know, and not only did they immediately change our room, they sent up a bottle of iced champagne and a cheese board for my birthday. The breakfast is wonderful, and they have a great little coffee shop. The only thing I didnt like was that there is no onsite parking unless you pay nearly $50 for valet, but we would absolutely stay here again!

Rooms do not offer the simple amenities of standard Hilton hotels. No mini-fridge. Apparently no wash cloths. Only valet parking. No reasonable restaurant on sight. Stay at a different Hilton unless you think you will feel fancy by reading the inspirational quotes stickered to the walls. Seriously it’s not nice. You will get a better room at a home 2 or any other Hilton. I don’t get it.

  • 1/5 Vintavia T. 6 months ago on Google
My room wasn’t ready when I arrived. I had to wait an additional hour and stand in line to receive a room when they said that they would call. Once inside of the room, I found that the room wasn’t clean. There were stains on the sheets. I called them down and physically went down 3 times to have the sheets replaced, but after 3 hours no one showed up. I attempted to order room service from the Rosalie, but no one could get them to answer the phone. I had to go downstairs to order. I checked out the same night and am now being charged a late cancellation fee. This was completely unacceptable and I have never had such a terrible experience at a “luxury” hotel. I’ve never had to carry my own bags at a hotel within this price range, let alone deal with dirty linens, and issues ordering room service. This is a motel 6 with lipstick.

    C. Baldwin is a nice and modern hotel in the center of downtown Houston. Great location and beautiful views from the room. The front desk wasn’t very welcoming, but bellman was amazing and down to earth. The room was very spacious and I enjoyed the theme throughout the hotel. Valet: I brought 2 vehicles to the hotel during my visit, a sports car and an oversized SUV. My sports car was left out front, but when the weather became bad, the underground parking is unable to shelter the vehicle as it was too low to go down. The valet did try to protect the vehicle as best as they could, but take that information as you will with your weekend car. My SUV on the other hand was actually damaged on the roof, but the valet services are a separate entity from the hotel. Accidents happen and it was not a problem. I have been in contact with their operations manager and he is working with me through a claim. Overall, I would still recommend the hotel and would like to add that Hilton never disappoints with their Curio Collection properties.

Excellent stay. All of the staff was helpful and kind. The room was clean. The water stayed hot. The bed and pillows were firm but giving. There’s a solid Italian restaurant in the hotel. Even the coffee shop in the lobby was good. You can rent their cruiser bikes and your Houston.

This is my second time staying at this location and it wows me every time. Fantastic location firstly. Close to many bar and entertainment areas. Laura P is truly a gem at this property though. She's honestly the reason I came back here other than the spectacular ambience. Not only is she a skilled bartender, she can multi-task while busy with a ton of guest. She told us all about the hotel's history and entertained us the 3 separate occasions we came to see her at the bar!!! What ever she is being paid should be doubled as her value to this property is immense. She provides guest with a warmth and character that is hard to come by.

Enjoyed 2 separate stays at this hotel in the last month. The valet service is quick and attentive. Front desk was friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. As others mentioned the water pressure could be improved but overall everything was clean and satisfactory. The gym is clean and a nice amenity that I used on both visits. I’m looking forward to future stays at this establishment.

This hotel was fantastic. The digital check-in worked, and the valet crew was friendly and helpful. We were never harassed by the staff. Excellent downtown location, close to the park and speakeasy/dining options. The hotel's coffee shop and restaurant were excellent. The staff in all regions and at the hotel were outstanding. They truly look after you. The rooms were also clean and peaceful. If you have the opportunity, I strongly advise you to visit and stay here. We did miss out on the bar because of our schedule. But I've heard nothing but positive things about it. They offer a fantastic whiskey collection.

My stay at C. Baldwin was great! The lobby smelled good, the decor was beautiful and my room was clean and had a great view. The hotel staff were kind and were available when I had questions. A huge shout out to Rafael, for going above and beyond with great customer service. Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel, well designed and located…but the standout star of my visit was GM Chris Niederschulte. An unfortunate series of events threatened to impact a key business trip where I was set to meet with important clients and attend a large event as a representative of my company. I won’t go into details, but it’s important to note that the professionalism and empathy I witnessed in Chris are an example of top tier hospitality. This is a GM who appears to be an actual good guy, who truly cares about the guest experience. That makes all the difference. The hotel is well designed, modern, trendy. The beds are comfortable, the AC runs flawlessly. The rooms are spacious. The bar area had great food and drinks. Top notch hospitality from everyone - front desk, valet, bartender, bar manager, you name it, they nailed it. With Chris at the helm, it’s not difficult to guess why. Will be back and will recommend that my company make this a preferred location for all our business travel bookings.

Really enjoyed my stay recently at this hotel. The Manager, Filipe, went above my expectations to accommodate my request, and made sure the rest of my stay was comfortable. The hotel is very clean and smells wonderful throughout. Every employee I interacted with was extremely pleasant and courteous. The exterior grounds of the hotel is beautiful as well. I picked the right hotel for a relaxing 4 night stay and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was beautiful and esthetically pleasing. The employees made everyone feel welcome from the very arrival. Rafael immediately came to help us with our bags when we arrived on Thursday afternoon, and helped us with our bags upon leaving on Saturday morning. The hotel was booming, but never felt overwhelming. The room was gorgeous and we had the best view. They had bicycles for rent, and a close park that we could ride around! Overall, we will definitely make a trip back and hope to stay here.

This hotel was great. Digital check in worked and valet staff were helpful and kind. Staff never bothered us at all. Great location in downtown that not far from the park area or speakeasy/dinner locations. The coffee shop and restaurant inside the hotel were on point. Staff members at both areas and for the hotel were amazing. They really do take care of you. The rooms were clean and quiet as well. I highly recommend visiting and staying here if you can. We did miss out on the bar they have due to the schedule. But I heard great things about it. They have an amazing selection of whiskey.

Put a coffee pot in the room! The hotel was very nice and spacious. The decor was fun and very interesting. Connected to lots of office buildings with a few eating establishments nearby. Close to the park with walking trails. Has all of the amenities (except coffee in the room, grr) - lobby bar, Rosalie restaurant, and a small coffee bar hidden in the corner.

The Baldwin is a beautiful, upscale hotel. My daughter and I stayed here when we went to see Hamilton just because. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They checked on us about an hour after checking just see if everything was up to our expectations. I booked a high floor so that we would have a great view of the city and it was amazing. We had dinner at Rosalie, the on site restaurant, and the food and drinks were so good! I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to the theater orr symphony and you'd like to be close enough to walk or if you'd like to spend the evening in downtown.

*This review is solely based on the bar services* Whiskey Wednesdays are a complete VIBE.I stumbled upon this gem of a night on a random Wednesday. The live musician was AWESOME the drinks were fairly prices and it was just perfect. The hotel is also beautiful inside and out. The staff was very helpful. 10/10 recommend

The food is amazing! I love the restaurant here! Who knew you could stay at a nice room and enjoy great food all in one location! The whole staff was extremely professional and helpful. This place knows customer service! It's so refreshing to stay at a place like this that puts people first. One down side is that the walls are paper thin in the rooms, so I hope you have nice neighbors. All in all I had a wonderful time here thanks to the amazing food!
