Room was average but definitely in need of updates and cosmetic repairs. The lobby is nice and smelled great. The rest of the common areas are pretty awful. The biggest items we noticed were the dirty/stained drop ceiling tiles, garbage cans catching leaks in the ceiling, and rusted/peeling/cracking trim around doors and floors. The pool was absolutely FREEZING and the hot tub wasn’t working which was incredibly disappointing because those were the only reasons we selected this hotel. When we brought it to the front desk’s attention, they told us sorry but didn’t offer any solutions and didn’t appear to care much. We travel a lot and have fairly low expectations for hotels but this one was terrible enough to warn and notify others of our experience. We read the reviews and booked despite our reservations, and I regret not finding another hotel.

The front staff was friendly and the front lobby was very clean and smelled great. I was surprised because of some of the reviews I read. I was expecting a filthy hotel that smelled horribly. This was not the case in my experience. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. We had plenty of towels, soap and shampoo. There were no broken fixtures and the water heated up very quickly. I felt very safe, so I’m perplexed as to why some people did not. I come for cancer treatments every two weeks and we will definitely stay here again. Oh, and our room smelled just fine. I did not smell marijuana anywhere in the hotel. The price is great and free breakfast is a plus. My husband and I really like this hotel and we found it just as good as the other more expensive hotels, which we have stayed at. I am truly grateful we finally found such a good and cost effective hotel.

Horrific experience! Not safe for children or disabled . There were homeless people preying on people who were trying to unload their luggage . Rooms were filthy strong mold smell mixed with vomit 🤢. Nothing worked either ac , microwave, fridge . Restrooms had backflow issues and no ventilation. Parking is not handicap friendly either lots of stairs. Not to mention interior looks like a morgue. Very dated and runned 👇 . We felt like we were in a horror movie...just don't waste disyour money here completely disappointed .

I called before I booked to ask if the pool was working was told yes pool is good but the hot tub isn't working. Booked 2 nights and the pool is indoor and 50 degrees. Went to the gym and none of the equipment has power cords so nothing works. Will never stay here again and don't recommend anyone else does either. Why lie to your customer who is gonna be there to find out. Best Western should take their name off this hotel. Rename it to Regret Inn

We booked this due to the location to MDA. It’s nothing like the pictures online at all. First thing I noticed was the odors. Price was way to much for what you get. It was dark and musty. Breakfast was ok but food wasn’t hot, it was room temperature. We didn’t stay for the second night. Left and went to the Holiday Inn it was much nicer, it smelled so clean and cost less. Definitely will not stay here again.

Honestly for the price the basic expectations are met and the area is ideal. The pool is closed on the weekend and there’s nothing posted online or internally that makes that clear. Not sure the goal for closing an amenity when people will be on site wanting to use it. The halls and elevators aren’t cooled and have an odor but the rooms are fine and cooled. Nothing fancy but will do the trick. Hot breakfast provided .

Make sure to use HotelDully.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This site will compare thousands of booking web sites and usually will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't be disappointed. Great stay, hot tub works great. For peace of mind regarding broken into cars, I parked right across the street for only $15/ night.

We stayed here last week while my father was in the hospital and will continue to do so throughout his treatment. The price was good for the close location and decent rooms. The front desk ladies were very helpful throughout our stay. The fact that it has breakfast in the mornings is a nice touch as well. I TRUELY recommend this place if you need a quick place to stay while a loved one is in the hospital.

We stayed here for three nights before my husband had surgery at Houston Methodist. It is within walking distance but a little further away from several other hotels which were more expensive. The pool was not clean. But then I have some pretty high standards. The beds were not very good. Will not stay here again because of that. They must be 10 years old at least.

If the price I see online is $77 then that is what I should get it for, not 90$ and that was discounted cause my husband was having surgery. The carpet in the room was sticking to my socks. Oh and if you are paying cash expect to pay a 50$ deposit. The hot tub didn't work and the place smelled musty. I found it funny that the info card on the back of the door priced an overnight stay at $500. The free breakfast was the nicest thing in the place. The workers could learn some elevator etiquette. Always assume someone is in the elevator. Let us out before you come in. Sam was an amazing front desk clerk! Absolutely amazing!

I was a first time guest at this hotel in September 2023 as I was in Houston for a visit at MD Anderson. I was unfamiliar with the area and researched many hotels looking primarily at price and location. This hotel fit both of my needs. My room was very comfortable and was a true sanctuary as I was there for medical reasons and not a vacation - it was alwasy nice to come back to my extremely comfortable king bed. The staff was kind and helpful and it was very nice to have the shuttle service available. I did have to walk back from an appointment at night and felt safe doing so. The breakfast was good and had a lot of variety. The menu changed a bit each day and was actually served to you by some very nice ladies. They do have a laundry facility which is great for longer stays and the front desk will provide laundry detergent. I did not use the pool so cannot speak to that but it looked clean and nice. If you are in the area for medical treatment I suggest this hotel as it should meet your needs.

We enjoyed our stay when my wife had an appointment a few days ago. The shuttle driver was a hoot! The motel was is great shape. A little musty smell in the room, but it was clean and everything in perfect working order. I, in fact couldn't smell anything different, it was my wife who noticed the smell. When we checked in , the poor front desk girl was having to do several different jobs at once. But she kept a smile on her face and was very pleasant to everyone! Breakfast was outstanding.

It's the worst location. It has the worst parking. All of it is on the opposite side of the parking lot or under the facility at an angle where you can kiss your bumpers goodbye. The doors on any side are locked before 8 p.m. So to get to my room I have to park on the backside of the hotel, walk around the whole building, enter on the streetside, and then walk around to the back side of the building once again. As if that wasn't bad enough, the hotel failed to notify me that it did not have running water at check-in. Just stay away. That's super shady business behavior in my opinion. I canceled the week after a night and got booked somewhere else. And where i was gonna let it go, I guess I get to add more. on the receipt given to me was not acceptable for reimbursement because it doesn't have the single night stay total i was charged because the whole week was charged up front. Apparently no way to change that in the system. So now i get to eat the charge of the full week... I think... I'm goving up the best westerns everywhere. Loyalty status isn't worth Stayed: 9/18/23

It was a good stay. The pool and hit tub was is working order. The included hot breakfast was very convenient. It was a stay for a hospital appointment. So we most likely will be back.

Don't let anyone fool you, this is definitely a budget hotel, but it's an old budget hotel that is trying to be nicer. It's a nice touch that they have an indoor pool, but the hot tub wasn't working!🫤. Unfortunately, our room was a little smelly and the property had definite budget vibes, but it worked. It wasn't too expensive either.

Very sketchy, saw a man with a long lens camera walk thru the parking garage with a hat on... went to his van, changed hats, and walked out the other side. Very hard to get up the hill coming out. Trash everywhere. Employees that we talked to were pleasant. The hotel just needs updating and upkeep. Couldn't figure it what all the noise was in the hall way(kids yelling mostly) saw a teen girl filming a tiktok with the elevator open.

I'm not a guest here but my tire went flat and I ended up parking up in front of the hotel. The staff were so kind to check up on me multiple times and make sure I was being taken care of and offering to help fill air or call their own tow. 10/10 would recommend purely based on the quality of service I received without even being a paying customer.

Stinks and just nasty and loud. Had a doctor appointment so we got a room for the night instead of driving to Houston at 4am. Should have drove and saved some money because i got no rest anyway. Oh and they moved me 3 different rooms. 1st room ac didn't work next room had bloody mattress and so on. Last room stank like pee.

Stayed here for a couple of nights, 1st time in the Houston area and was very happy. Pool is indoors, so it gets a little loud with kids playing (just a warning for those that are sound sensitive). Room was nice, bed comfortable, parking lot was kinda weird and hard to figure out initially. There is no elevator that goes to the parking place under the hotel, so if you require an elevator, don't park under the hotel, park in the lot at the back or side of the hotel. Rear elevator is still broken, so having to walk the entire length of the hotel kinda sucks. Id definitely stay here again.

What a horrible experience. We park literally in front of a camera.. not even a full 3 hours of being parked here in mid day our and 3 other vehicles get broken into. We could not check in because we were early so we went across the street to the hospital to come back and see they got us. Staff did nothing and basically said it was not their problem. The hotel next door caught it on surveillance and were waaaaaaay more helpful. Do your self a favor and stay at the intercontinental just next door.

The hotel is old and outdated but it was clean. Upon check in I was told I couldn't use my credit card to keep on file until check out because I was unsure how many days I was staying because we came due to family illness. We ended up paying cash for two days.. We spoke to the Crystal who was tending the desk and she told us I could use my card and ended up staying two additional days. Crystal was so pleasant and helpful. She was the reason I gave the service 4 stars.

The stay was okay I kept asking for more towels there was 4 of us in the room. But we only would get 3 towels. I had to call multiple times for the week I stayed. The jacuzzi didn't work for a day. Back of building was hot like there was only AC in front of building but not the rest. Elevator was so slow in the back and then it would say 4th floor on elevator but we would land on 5th. We changed keys to room multiple times. Breakfast was ok. First night refrigerator didn't work or microwave but they did offer to move us but we decided just to wait till maintenance came the next day. Finally the last day we were there the cleaning lady stayed on her phone the whole time cleaning. This hotel is good for price, location and rooms are pretty clean too. Overall it was ok.

Smells moldy in the building and rooms, but we just went to sleep and it was good for that. We went for 2 nights and on both nights security was out patrolling the lot, I guess from previous reviews they had issues with vehicle break-ins. It's close to hospitals and the stadium.

Woke up to our brand new truck stolen from parking lot and while speaking to the police officer filing a report a guest walked up to report her vehicle stolen! Cameras do not work. Van driver was wonderful and professional - hotel desk staff was indifferent with the stolen vehicles. Done with this place!!!

Terrible experience. AC worked about 10% called front desk who claimed they were sending someone who never came. Wife having big surgery at nearby hospital. These area hotels have you bent over a barrel and take advantage. Relatively clean but outdated. Pay a few bucks more and stay somewhere they care

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money next door. This hotel was disgusting. The towels were dirty and the washcloth had someone else’s hair intertwined in it. We ended up leaving and going next door. 100x’s better.

We were unable to cancel our room reservation for a wedding when our child became extemely ill. When I called to cancel, the customer service reps were rude and shut us down immediately when we asked about potential other options, such as credit toward a future stay. As a result, we decided that my husband would still attend while I stayed home with our son so that the money spent on the room wouldn't go to waste. When he arrived after a 5 hour drive, he was told by the front desk that he couldn't check in since I was the one who made the original reservation and only my ID would be accepted from me in person. Once again the desk was rude, uncaring, and completely unhelpful. My husband spent the night on someone else's floor, and we spent $250 dollars on a room we were never able to use. Never "staying " at a Best Western hotel again.

5 minutes after receiving the room keys I turned on the heater which caused the fire alarm to go off so I called the front desk to make them aware the clerk said she would send someone right away 10 minutes later a housekeeper entered our room with a broom and reset the fire alarm and although I explained that I had to lower the temperature of the heater to 75 in order for the alarm to go off she never checked the heater however she left the room returned to the lobby and told the clerk that we were smoking and that set off the alarm the clerk then took it upon herself to call the room and tell my minor child that we were smoking and set the alarm off so we would have to pay an extra fee! without coming to the room and checking for smoke I was offended and insulted which ruined our stay not to mention the water buckets filled with rain water along with piles of bath towels to soak up the water that the four small buckets didn’t catch accompanied by a disrespectful front desk clerk who basically called me a liar to my face I have received better accommodations customer service and cleaner environment while staying at The Scottish Inn

Stayed when my husband had heart surgery at St Luke's in July everyone was nice. But the gentleman driving the van were always a pleasure to be around and helpful with my luggage. I just stayed there last week my granddaughter had to have surgery at TX children after surgery I stayed at the hospital. But my vehicle was parked in the parking lot next to SureStay and we were released to go home. I pushed my granddaughter in her wheelchair out to my car in the heat of the day. To find my car with a flat tire. Called hospital security and was waiting with 6 year old granddaughter in the heat for at least 30 minutes. I looked over and seen your awesome driver pull up. So I asked him if he had a air pump so I could get my tire air up. And thank God he had one and let me use it. I had my tire ready to roll and slowly but surely here come security. So thank you again and I will always stay with SureStay and we recommend you to all my family and friends. 🥰

While staying in the hotel near hospital, truck was broken into and front desk wouldn't help with looking at camera. As trip wasn't bad enough that father was in ICU, I was told I would have to file a police report to gain camera access. Way to keep it classy Houston!

I wish I would’ve taken pictures of the room but even those wouldn’t have done it justice. To quote my three year old “this isn’t like a normal bathroom, it’s like a dirty bathroom”. Honestly though, I’ve stayed in motel rooms in Ensenada that were nicer. After 8 hours there, 6 of which spent sleeping because we checked in at 10:30pm, I was calling best western customer service to cancel the rest of our nights and go somewhere else. The room stunk of mildew, our feet stuck to the bathroom floor, I wouldn’t let my kids touch the bath/shower, and the parking garage was sketchy and not secured. The pictures make it look SO MUCH nicer than it is. We will never step foot in this hotel again.

Booked a different hotel and had the worst experience ever. Booked online and came to this hotel and the young lady, I didn’t even get her name, that was working night audit on March 3rd was the sweetest and made us feel wanted and welcomed here. That’s the type of employees every hotel needs. Only issue I had was being woke up at 2:30am with a few drunk boys in the hallway outside of my room banging against my door and the walls. I do not hold that against the hotel because I didn’t complain to them I just opened my door and told them to shut up and get away from my door. But of course that’s out of the employees hands when I didn’t report it. Other than that I have nothing bad to say and this will be my go to hotel from here on out when I’m in the area. Thank you for having great employees!

The hotel was nice enough! Clean, kind staff, comfy bed. Older hotel but we’ll kept. However, during our stay our vehicle was broken into while in the parking garage. And when we spoke to the desk confirmed at least 4 others were also broken into that no hit, those in the parking garage and not. The best the desk could offer was a phone umber for the police. The cameras in the garage do not work. Additionally the police said this is a problem that’s been going on for a few weeks. Cars in the neighboring parking lot for the women/children’s hospital were also vandalized. Consider staying elsewhere if your planning a visit with a vehicle, or consider leaving your doors unlocked so you at least don’t have to pay to replace a broken window.

The best thing about this place is the location the service was sub per, the maintenance lady was very rude. The pool area was not the cleanest and there were no towels as the maintenance lady insisted there were. The rooms were just ok however the room my sister was in, the toilet didn't work and when she went to notify the front desk she was offered plunger. Only After giving the clerk a disbelieving look, was she offered another room.

The hotel is outdated but was comfortable and good enough for our family of 4 and very convenient for the T. Swift concert last night (4/21). The next morning , after check out, we made our way back to our vehicle and found that three vehicles next to ours had been broken into (glass busted out). As I was walking back in to tell the front desk, the owner of the vehicle next to me was walking out and stated that she was waiting on the police to show and that the hotel stated that they have cameras but they don't work and there was nothing they could do. I felt bad for the lady and her family and very disappointed to hear that they won't fix their security cams. While doing this review, i realized that other people had posted about break ins too.I feel like the person breaking in to these vehicles know this specific hotel does not have proper security which is why it continues to happen. If you are considering this stay, be very cautious. I wish I would've thought to take pics or I definitely would have posted.

Everything is great very spacious, I even turned in a wallet I found outside to the front desk last night. That made me feel good, I really hope they have it now. We must all do the right thing 💜
