I have to admit I almost didn't book this hotel as there are other places nearby that had better reviews, and I've stayed at several of them. After considering that I've never had a bad stay at a Hyatt House (and it was a great points redemption), I booked it. Everyone here has taken great care of us (especially Vanessa at the front desk). The location is convenient for my needs, and there's self-parking on site. They also have a nice gym. The only improvement I have is to have a better beer selection at the bar (perhaps add a dark brew and an IPA).

I knew it was a red flag when we pulled up and there was an empty grocery cart hanging off of the curb. There isnā€™t any furniture in the hallways but silhouette stickers of furniture and trash lined hallways instead. The elevator smelled like weed and our first room smelled like smoke. The front desk was very helpful and allowed us to move to another room immediately and apologized for the inconvenience. The second room had damage to the walls, old carpet, chipped furniture, and badly needed renovations and updates. There was a used q-tip on top of the safe in the bathroom. It was so late that we just checked the bed, showered, and tried to get some sleep. ā€œBreakfastā€ consisted of potatoes, bacon, and eggs, watery oatmeal, dirty cereal dispensers, boils eggs and plain bagels. When we returned to the room we found a roach crawling across the bathroom floor. The staff was very nice and accommodating when we told them about our visitor but we left and booked the Courtyard down the street for less.

I did not stay, however I booked a room for a friend for 5 days. I paid over $680 and when my friend checked out they actually tried to charge her $400! The room was $80 per day. I overpaid and requested a refund for the difference. They gave me the runaround and alot of mumbo jumbo. I do not appreciate being ripped off. I used a credit card so I will dispute the difference.. I would never recommend this hotel.

The old carpet made my husband and I sick!! The dusty closet, window screens torn, the toilet was cleaned properly, the prestigious we experienced. If you are BLACK stay away, no wa feeling that you expect from Hyatt. The floors in the room, hallway and bathroom feel.like you arr going to fall straight through. OMG the little toilet seat that sit to the ground. I thought I had my grandson with me! The ice machine was broken, they take the hot water so you can not make tea after breakfast, just a not good experience.

The location is great for the Galleria are. The room was nicer than what I expected and had a kitchenette. If you book online make sure you get the parking package though because if not it's 20plus dollars a day. The parking garage is connected to the hotel with access on each floor and it's gated. It's was a good experience and I'd definitely go back and stay in the future!!

Close enough to downtown a an affordable rate. Would have given 5 stars for service if the man that was at the front desk when we checked out had provided a folio as I asked. He refused even though I had told him my students needed it to be reimbursed. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good.

Went to view a room for a business trip. Spoke with the reception Kayla, she told me she had to ask her manager, Jacob if I could view a room, Jacob told me that it was almost time for him to go for the day that he will not be able to show me a room, and that it was past business hours. I arrived to the facility at 5:30. Terrible customer service ask for the manager he told me he was the manager (GM) then he gave me a card with the hotel phone number on it and walked away after I called the number I went back in and asked Kayla could she call him back to the front? . He told her to tell me that heā€™s gone for the day but then Iā€™m sitting outside in my vehicle and see him walk to his vehicle. He was still inside of the building, so basically they both just lied in my face. Customer service definitely will not refer a friend or family. Member was looking to book several rooms for a company stay thanks for the experience definitely will not be doing that. Also, when I went back in the second time, I retrieved the card from the card holders that had GM on there and is definitely not his name. Itā€™s a person by Victor.

The hotel is really really really old Everything you touch starts squeezing Is not dirty but not very clean Location is good The female receptionist made sure we donā€™t check in before 3 pm even thou the hotel seemed empty. The complimentary breakfast was good and appreciated Late check out was allowed till 2pm at no cost.

Hyatt Explorist elite here for 3 nights. Was given a room at check in next to a busy street and im a light sleeper. The next day, the receptionist managed to move me to a room by the pool so was happy about that. Elevator is creepy. The rooms are dated but clean and functional. Bed sheets could be smoother. Could use more lighting and usb ports. Bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine. No sponge provided to handwash dishes/utensils. Free breakfast was ok and had the staples: scrambled eggs, sausages, toast/bagels, etc. Gym was good sized with decent equipment but towels were not replenished for a day and a knob is missing on the crossfit machine so it's half functional. Hotel is less than 15min walk from some restaurants and a CVS. Sidewalk on hotel side is narrow so when it's flooded, you either have to wear flood boots or walk into the street with traffic. Overall a good stay but some fixing is needed.

STAY AWAY, If I could leave 0 stars I would. Our room had a whole in the window that was ducktaped, when we walked to the back of the hotel to the pool(very small) we saw many other windows that were taped. The locks are busted, so if you're a single woman, go elsewhere. If you like to get away from the 100ā° weather, too bad, cuz the AC is busted too. How about a shower to wash off from a hot day, too bad the front desk shut off the water for 4 hours during the day with no warning or explanation. The shower leaks from the bottom, and there was also a leak from the shower ceiling , probably another rooms shower floor leaking through. The "H Bar" they advertise is really just an area in the breakfast bar that looks closed every night, and if you want a drink you have to ask someone at the front desk to go make you one. The manager at the front desk is rude and offered no assistance to any of these problems, she stares at you vacantly with her mouth open until you walk away. This is an area with beautiful , reasonably priced hotels. I implore you all to go to one of the many different hotels, unless you don't mind NO AC, a room with no lock, holes in the window, water being randomly shut off, etc etc

This place is literally just what you need. No real luxuries. The location is great. I experienced no roaches or harsh water. No real noise. It was perfect for an extended stay.

Great location. Close to everything! Located in a nice neighborhood of Houston! Front staff were very friendly. The breakfast was very good for being complimentary. A lot of variety and fresh. The hotel was clean as well. Would definitely stay again!

This hotel needs a serious upgrade. It looks outdated. The room was just okay but there were so many little things like, the old raggedy blinds(with no curtains in the window), the broken top lock on the door and I saw a huge bug in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower kept going in and out, and the A/C in the hallway was not working after the first night. Also, we could hear the guests in the room above us walking all night. The best part was the free breakfast. It was good and fresh! I probably will not be back.

Rooms weren't bad despite it looking dingy going in and out. Semi-updated rooms with most of it in the bathrooms which make it look nice and clean. Cost of parking is a little high considering it's not within a safe walking distance to Galleria or it's upscale restaurants.

The hospitality and mgt is really good and willing to serve. Front desk people are also kind and willing, can do better. A few water bottles could be complimentary upon arrival or offered to clients at the reception. Galley serving personnel could smile more to the guests. The garage is very convenient, however, the garage door should have automatic stop to avoid damage on cars.

My time there was great, hotel has everything you need. It's Walking distance from popular places. In house snack bar, great breakfast, and you can do your own laundry onsite (my highlight šŸ˜Š). Staff was friendly. ā

Clean rooms, but bedding and room overall needs to be upgraded. The carpet was coming up, it definitely needs to be removed. Bed spreads were worn, nothing was really updated. Great location to stores and restaurants though.

Hotel and amenities were nice. Only minor issue during my 3 month stay were the out of order washers/dryers but no big deal. Breakfast is really good everyday and staff is great. I want to thank front desk agent Joseph for his display of exceptional customer service with a matter I had regarding a lost item, he was very helpful and patient and the item was recovered. Thank you

I stayed here and left a charger. Someone at the front desk told me that they found it. They stated would hold it for me. I came back across town Houston and they said they no longer had it. I reached out to speak to a manager many times and no follow up. Decent stay. However, if you say you have something from a customer that was left in a room. Then the next couple days it is stolen.. a follow up would have made a difference.

Cockroach in room! Despite multiple request to get housekeeping to clean up but all she did was to retrieve the cockroach away with a napkin.. The manager on duty was not available to speak and as a Hyatt Globalist, I decided to cut short my stay as no other pest control measure and clean up was done.

The afternoon/evening crew was quite pleasant. In fact, things were all going pretty well until around midnight when water started pouring (not dripping) from the ceiling in the bathroom. The floor was quickly flooded, so the front desk was called for maintenance. The night guy said there was no maintenance man available at the hotel, so there was nothing he could do to stop the water leak. This of course did not sit well with the wife, so things quickly escalated from there. It was not pretty. Here's what my properly trained employees say to guests at my hotel (I'm looking at you Hyatt House Houston Galleria owner and manager). Oh my! Is everyone OK? I'm so sorry! But unfortunately there is no one available to fix the leak. HOWEVER, I can upgrade you to a suite. AND, I can have someone to your room right away with the luggage cart to help move your things. I do apologize once again, as I certainly realize how inconvenient all of this is. But it's the only option I have. Will this work for you? This is how you prevent a bad situation from escalating. But instead the flame was fanned. And instead of sending someone to help, a man and the security guard came to my room to escort us off the property. Now admittedly, I did actually wind up in one of their suites, but only after I had to call the Hyatt Globalist line to get some help. Anyway, I realize Hyatt House is not the Hyatt Regency, Centric or Grand Hyatt, but beware fellow travelers... Hyatt House Galleria in Houston does indeed have a luggage cart. It just isn't living up it to its full potential.

Location is near gallery mall Breakfast is included, but they have same breakfast every day. So if you are gonna stay for 4 to 5 day. Then better look out for other options for breakfast

Stayed 8/26/22 in 1 bd king suite. Pros: spacious room, shower felt great, & near Walmart. Cons: Noticed huge bug (included in pics) in first room while sanitizing. Lady at the front desk quickly assigned me another room, walked me to it, & apologized. 2nd room had a stench, one lamp was dirty, & carpet in both rooms looked like they hadnā€™t been cleaned in a while. Was told I could leave the name of the person joining me & they could present their idea to be given a key, well, no key was provided. Parking fee of $21 wasnā€™t mentioned until I got there. The fee shouldā€™ve been included when I booked online. I donā€™t care for surprises of this nature.

I stayed for a period of three months. The location is good. The kitchen has all things necessary. The breakfast is decent. And here is my list of issues: 1. Thereā€™re roaches. In spite of complaining, it didnā€™t seem to get better. 2. Water was cutout three-four times without prior notice mostly to fix a leak that kept recurring. 3. The gym was periodically shut for days due to this same ā€˜leakā€™ 4. One night, the power went out for nearly 5 hours and the staff wasnā€™t supportive. The emergency light went out too after sometime and the entire building was pitch dark. 5. Security is bad. One morning, I found a stranger sleeping in the stairway who wasnā€™t a guest at the hotel.

This hotel was generally fine but had many small issues in our room. We were booked in room 408 and there were several small maintenance issues. The drain in the tub was broken, there was duck tape between the carpet and kitchen tile floor, the kitchen sink drips constantly, some cabinets were slightly broken, the dishes were not clean, and some of the provided amenities such as the soap bottles and note pad were dirty. The note pad had actually been drawn on, likely by a child, with crayon but whoever cleaned the room didnā€™t change it out. The bed was clean and comfortable, but they only provide two pillows for each double bed. The breakfast buffet was small but likely suitable for most guests. Overall I would say that I wonā€™t be returning to this hotel, as there are many other hotels in the area. If this hotel is significantly cheaper than others then it might be worth it, depending on your standard of quality.
