Back in October, my (now) fiance proposed to me on the rooftop of this hotel and the hotel staff helped him organize everything! They were very accommodating and super friendly! After the proposal, we ate at their restaurant, and the food was delicious. The suite was also nice and clean and the staff had a nice bottle of champagne waiting for me in the room. Great hotel, great people, great service!! Would give 10 stars if I could!

We stayed here one night for a concert with a group of friends. Staff was very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. We had asked for a room change and were quickly changed to a new room . Rooms were clean , big and spacious. Hotel seems newly updated. Location was amazing ! Close walking distance to Main Street and food nearby . Rooftop bar had very nice view and fun atmosphere. Will definitely be staying here again !

The staff does not listen or book your room correctly and gives you false stay fees. The room was freezing cold even with the heat being cut on, the elevators were disgusting & sticky just filthy. The original worker who booked was very RUDE…talked to us in a very condescending way. The front desk staff attempted to help us as best as they could - thank you to them. I called the reservations number to be forwarded to get help then sent me around the way of course, but finally got on the phone with two people, the First Lady was confused but trying her best. The supervisor CJ acted as if he understood my complaints but then stated it would take 5 days for them to get back with me and I’d have to change my stay again to get back to the price quotes originally to me. He also talked very rudely to me as if I’m not educated…which is a huge red flag. I feel as if they treated me like they knew my skin tone…I don’t appreciate that & I’ll be seeking therapy because of that. My dollar is just as important as anyone else’s. I would never ever recommend a stay here unless you’re willing to be talked to like you’re less than and treated as if you don’t know what you’re talking about. Very rude staff over the phone. I am very distressed and troubled after this experience.

This is my favorite hotel in downtown. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The hotel is well built and incredibly quiet. There is a nice restaurant downstairs and a bar on the roof. Down pillows and lite firm bed had me sleeping all night.

My worst stay at a Marriott property - and I’ve been to too many. Very disappointing 1- charged my card $600 more than what they billed me 2- no hospitality! the staff at the front desk could be more courteous to guests; is it too much of a bother to ask them a single question or ask if they can fix a card that’s not working 3- didn’t deliver my room service and had no record of it when I called back 4- door card stopped working midweek and had to get it fixed 5- explicitly told the team I don’t need housekeeping yet they continued entering the room every day

Excellent location for the price! Right near Main St, the tram, and the underground tunnel system (Plenty of restaurants down there to choose from). Jeremy brightened my whole day with his uplifting customer service attitude! That guy knows people and should be working front and center for sure! Rooms were very clean but had a tiny window with a view of the other side of the building. Elevators worked great and were very clean. Valet did a great job, but we did have to wait 10 mins once because nobody was at the entrance (was retrieving someone's car). Rooftop bar was decent with a great view of the city. Good deal for the area for sure. Thanks again.

I chose this hotel because of the cleanliness ratings and it lived up to it! Our room, bathroom, sheets, pillows were all clean! They never had a problem with giving us more towels or toiletries. They held our luggage after checkout and the gym was well-equipped for a nice, away from home workout! Only thing I missed was a pool, but they replaced that with a roof top bar and party scene; not for me, but sure did look like a great time for those there. Only other thing I'll say is I wished it had a dining room table in my room, but discovered I had the bridal suite which oddly enough had 3 vanities in the living room area. It took my a min, but I realized the second day it was a bridal suite!

This is a great hotel. It's exactly what you would expect at a Le Méridien. The rooms are well decorated and are clean...they have definitely been updated. From the moment I stepped out of my car upon arrival to the moment I left the hotel to go home, my experience was nothing short of easy. If you like a modern design, you will not be disappointed if you stay here while you're in Downtown Houston. The fitness center is great as well - the fitness center had most everything I needed for a solid workout. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys nice Marriott properties.

Short version: Stay somewhere else. Many nearby options. Longer version: My wife and I have top Marriott Ambassador status and we stay at a lot of hotels. This is the worst experience at any US Marriott either of us has ever had. The room: (1) Our problems started with the room. There was a musty smell. They offered to move us to another room which had the same musty smell and was smaller. We obviously declined. (2) The bed used a mattress pad that was too small and wrinkled making lumps in the bed. (3) Noise from trains and other things woke up our son even though we were on the second to top floor causing us to lose sleep too (4) The one nice thing was at least the room was fairly large (5) The hot water is really messed up. If you just turn on hot in the sink, the water is opaque white presumably with some nasty stuff in it. The water temperature also changes randomly at all times of the day which can be really painful when showering. The service: (1) We stayed with our son (3 people) who was on the reservation but they only put 2 towels in the room. The staff didn't learn this so we had to call every single day to get towels. (2) There was also no body wash the first 2 of 3 nights needing another call. (3) The first morning, the cleaning staff ignored our "privacy please" sign on the door and attempted to open it (only stopped by the stopper on the door). After we yelled we were in the room they came back 5min later and tried to force entry again. The management offered us an $50 credit to the bar as an apology (which they lied about and did not keep more on that in a minute). (4) There is no room service. (5) The workout room is not where the signs say it is on the top floor. No one tell you this at checkin or in any written format. Mediocre but passable once it is found on floor 2. (6) On checkout, we were supposed to have an $50 restaurant/bar credit (see #3) but at checkout this was not on the bill. My wife asked for them to add it back and they said they were too busy to do it now and we'd just have to pay since there was a line of other people. (7) The valet takes 20min to fetch cars and tells you that you have 7 or 8min to get cars before they put them back which is stressful and ridiculous considering they're so slow. they seem not to enforce putting cars back so fast thankfully) Other: (1) the bar on the roof has a cool view and decent drinks but seems to cater to locals. Was good 1st time we went. Second time there was an incident that had police up there so not so good. (2) one of the elevators had a broken key reader when we arrived and another makes an unnerving banging sound while it goes up

The room was decent, however the service was lacking. Called down to the front desk and was put on hold for about 10 minutes before hanging up and going down to the lobby myself. Are breakfast at Zutro and the service was VERY slow without any patrons in the dining facility. We sat down and didn’t get attended to until I had to ask for a server, even though there were 3 servers talking to each other the whole time. Waited forever for the food just to be told they were out of an item that was requested.

This is a nice hotel with beautiful rooms and a great location. My room was large, bright, and clean. The bathroom was slightly cramped. Service was fantastic and friendly, valet service was relatively quick and communicated well. The elevators were keyboard activated, so I felt secure and safe as a solo traveler. My one complaint is the cost of the valet- $46 a night with no option for self parking. There are overnight parking garages nearby, but the closest with an opening was a block away and it was pouring, so I went with the valet.

The hotel stay was very relaxing. We loved the room and the staff were extremely friendly. I would’ve gave a 5 star rating but their romance package was a bit disappointing. I expected more of a nice decoration along with the wine and strawberries, even though there was a slight miscommunication and it was rushed it was still a nice touch but they should incorporate rose petals especially since that package is for a romantic evening. All in all the room was clean the hotel is beautiful inside and we will be back to enjoy the rooftop since it was raining during our stay. FYI the lady that made our drinks was amazing and the drinks came out delicious! We enjoyed room service which included waffles and chicken it was good as well just the chicken was overly fried. I don’t regret coming here! It was a nice staycation vibe. And the price is just an added bonus

Worst experience I’ve had at a Marriott! For starters only 1 elevator worked on a Friday night. I had to wait in line for 30 mins in the hotel lobby with non-guests trying to access the roof bar. Lobby was hot and humid so waiting to get to a room I’d paid for was fun. My room only had 2 towels, AC barely cooled our room, tv didn’t work, shampoo and body wash containers were missing the tamper stickers the conditioner and moisturizer bottles had, so you know housekeeping just reused them from the previous guest. This was really disappointing for a Marriott because I’d never had a bad experience before now.

Front desk staff was amazing! They were willing to help get our reservation figured out when the app we used did not send over our confirmation to them. It did take a while but the front desk called the entity 3 times on our behalf and finally got it fixed. When we arrived in our room there were only two sets of towels and a quick call to the front desk had another set brought up in less then 5 minutes! Amazing service.

This is a cozy, a bit old-fashioned hotel but in a positive way. Staff is really elegant and nice. The food is well prepared and they have great vegetarian options available. Room was as clean as you'd expect from a hotel with such high standards. The bed was really comfortable, it was an excellent night of sleep. Lastly, it's settled within walking distance of many great shops and facilities. I'd stay there again.

Stayed here for 2 nights for work, we had some meetings on property. Overall, had a good solid stay and all of the staff that we interacted with were fantastic, particularly those in the restaurant on the 1st floor where they make a delicious Oat milk Latte (with extra shots) exactly how I like it. Had lunch here as well, and despite how busy they were the staff kept on smiling and did their best to deliver great service. Rooms were clean and comfortable and I like to call out the pillow situation... which was great. Not the cheap pillows, the nice quality kind that gives you a great night sleep. The AC in my room also worked great which was a plus, since many times I find that is controlled and iffy in some hotels. Shower pressure was on point, and the room and the Illy coffee pods in-room if you are a hardcore morning coffee drinker and just go for it regardless of the what they say about in-room coffee makers. They have a lovely roof top bar, with fantastic views of the city if you want to even venture up there to take some pics, even foregoing a cocktail. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of a ton of stuff as well. There was a Walmart/Sam's Club convention going on, so thousands of managers descending on all the hotels in the area that we had to navigate and it did make catching the elevator.

The location, room, and restaurant were fantastic. But...elevator was insanely slow, check in was very slow and disorganized, staff knocked on our door right after check in to see if the room was available, we had staff knocking on our door at 9 in the morning to see if we have checked out (we didn't have to check out until 12 and were kid free so were planning on sleeping in), the water in the shower went under the tile outside the shower and it would bubble up if you stepped on it. Also, it would have been a GREAT view of Minute Maid park and the skyline but the windows were so dirty that you could barely see outside. Seemed to be very disorganized and not well run. I do not know if I would stay there again unless upgrades were done and staff was trained better.

They charged me for 2 night of valet parking when I stayed there one night. I should not have been charged at all for valet because I selected the AAA membership parking combo. When I called the hotel to dispute this, I was put on hold for over an hour. When Rachel finally answered the phone, she was very rude and hostile towards me. She said that because I never showed them my AAA card that they had to charge me for valet. I was never asked at any point to show my AAA card. I asked if it would have made sense to ask a guest to show their card if this was on the reservation. But Rachel says that they are not AAA and that I should have known to show my card in order to not be charged. She couldn’t explain why I was charged for 2 nights of valet so she said she would take one off the bill. It’s sad that this happened because I really enjoyed the stay at the hotel up until this point. The room was really nice and we loved everything about it. However their service is really poor and because of that and their shady billing practices we will not stay here again.

This was an amazing place. Everything you'd expect out of a hotel rated this highly. Staff was excellent and extremely helpful. They have a rooftop bar area, a ground floor cafe area. Rooms and upper levels are only accessible with your key card in the elevator so you should feel more than safe. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Parking is valet only and the front entrance is very limited but they do keep things moving along. There is a day rate parking lot across the street if you want to self park.

Excellent hotel in Houston. The room is spacious and clean with good basics. Staffs are friendly. I tried the room service, and surprisingly, the food came in boxes!! Not a good experience The location is good, with several dining options in the neighborhood

I prepaid for the room. However upon checkout i was given a bill that had a different room rate. I also was charged a fee upon checkin then another fee the day before i checked out. Non of the pre paid rate, checkout total, fee charged at checkin, and charged the day before checkout were the same. I have tried to contact the hotel several times with no one answering the phone at the front desk. Had to go through sales to reach someone. Was transferred to front desk who finally picked up only to transfer me to accounting. Had to leave a voicemail. Never had this problem before. This hotel is poorly managed.

We were in Houston to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The manager Omar upgraded our room to help us celebrate. He personally delivered bubbly champagne 🍾 and a nice charcuterie spread…THANK YOU!!! That was so thoughtful and unexpected. Top tier service! The rooftop view and ambiance was icing on the cake 😍🥰

Hair already present in the shower drain prior to using. Loud cars racing up and down the streets at night and reving their engines. Sketchy area at night. I don't recommend taking your dog out alone. Check in staff was not friendly or very welcoming. Z-23 bar has a list of cocktails. Good luck with the bartenders even having all the ingredients needed for said cocktails. My husband had to come up with a cocktail based on what they had since the bartenders were no help. Only good thing about this hotel was that my dog was able to stay with us.

  • 2/5 Anton K. 5 months ago on Google
I had a disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. The manager on duty was unwilling to assist us, and our package was misplaced, causing us to be late for dinner. What was even more disheartening was that the cleaning personnel were not maintaining proper hygiene, which was quite disturbing. We were also charged for a king room, but there was no room available, and the manager's response to this was baffling. We filed a complaint and were promised a call within a few days, but it has been three weeks, and we haven't received any communication. As a Gold member of the Bonvoy group of hotels, I expected a higher level of service, but this hotel fell far short of meeting those expectations. I would not recommend staying here, as it does not meet the standards of the premium Bonvoy group of hotels. Never returning. Bonvoy, I have questions.

What an awesome experience! Thank you Shannon P, Emmanuel and the rest of the Le Meridien staff for taking such good care of us. Not only is the hotel great, the rooftop bar is amazing!! I can’t wait to comeback. My only nay would be is that you’ll need to be patient with the elevators.

  • 5/5 PILI X. 8 months ago on Google
The restaurant is pretty cool. I loved the food. Nice atmosphere with great vibes. The roof top during the day is very chill, and at night it turns into a low key club. The only set back is the elevators seemed to be moving extremely slow.

Located in Downtown Houston, this is one of the better properties in the area The location being quite convenient. The staff are nice and welcoming and quite accommodating. The rooms are spacious and quite modern , well maintained and clean . They have a nice rooftop bar to keep you entertained during your stay .

  • 3/5 Stacey B. 2 years ago on Google
Le Meridien seems to be an older hotel but they they do a decent job keeping it maintained. It appears that this hotel would want to fall in a more luxurious type stay. First of all, the gentleman at checkin was super friendly and professional. The hotel at first glance is clean but surface clean is not good enough for me at a hotel. The elevators were pretty nasty and looked like they had not been cleaned in a while. My hotel room was also in need of some detailed cleaning, mainly the bathroom. The shower did not look clean and there was hair on the floor. The hotel staff turned down my bed each day and left clean towels but didn’t do much in the way of wiping anything down. I used my own wipes to wipe down surfaces each day. The high water pressure and availability of very hot water did impress me. I don’t think I have experienced that to this degree at other hotels. So I guess what I’m saying is, if cleanliness is not as important as a nice hot shower, this is the place for you. Also, be aware that valet parking was the only parking option so be prepared to wait for your vehicle at least 10-20 minutes.

  • 5/5 Robert A. 7 months ago on Google
Restaurant has great food. Sometimes it's to busy to get room service so just go downstairs to the bar and order to go. It's more fun that way anyway. The rooftop bar is as cool as you would think.

  • 2/5 Stephanie C. 7 months ago on Google
The Bar/Restaurant downstairs and upstairs are extremely understaffed the long waits change your whole vibe. The employees working seem lost with procedures, but they do their best efforts. Just a suggestion bring your own alcohol for your room to avoid long waits. The valet wait took about 30min to get my vehicle. This was by no means the expectations I had for a Marriott property and price.

Hotel wasn’t completely clean. We had hair in the shower from the previous guest. We checked in right while they were cleaning the rooms. We thought ours was done. Apparently the housekeeper didn’t see us come into our room. She ended up letting herself in our room and waking in on me while using the bathroom. She didn’t excuse her self. She literally just opened the bathroom and put soap on the counter. Now if I was some Karen she could have lost her job but I didn’t care enough to report it. The room was nice tho. The hotel was nice and clean. The roof top lounge was super basic. Nothing special at all. Just $15 drinks that were not strong and over priced. I’d stay again.

I booked this hotel last minute through one of the third party services. After a rough start to our visit due to a car rental co. incompetence, the superior staff really went the extra mile to make it up to us. They were just super nice and accommodating. There's a rooftop bar with food service with views not to be missed. The public areas of the hotel are really cool, too. Could not have been more pleased with the staff here. Our room was spacious with a view of MMF.

Love this space and the team running it. I couldn’t not had asked for a better experience during my stay and the event I hosted their went off without a hitch. The leadership in catering, sales and marketing went above and beyond to make sure of it - felt like 5 star treatment. I can’t say enough how much I would recommend this hotel for any occasion - it’s in a great location; food is yummy, atmosphere is modern and fun - and the rooftop experience is one you will not forget! I will be back again and again and so appreciate this hotel for the joy it has brought to my family and friends - thanks Le Meridien!!!

When we arrived the staff was very helpful. The room however was extremely muggy/humid. So much so that there was condensation covering the windows. The AC was very slow to respond as well. We had a city view room with tiny sliver of a view. The restaurant and bar was the highlight of the stay. Good food and drinks albeit a bit overpriced. The location was great being in downtown.

Very good hotel with nice, simple services. Clean, fresh feeling, spacious, everything in working order. USB outlets. LOVED the Illy coffee maker in the rooms. Best coffee I have ever had in a hotel room machine (you can brew strong), including actual half & half as opposed to powdered 'creamer' (corn syrup and vegetable oil). I appreciate that there is a door in the shower; I hate the open ones. At night the water was very warm, not hot, but nice and hot during the day. I didn't report this as it was no big deal. Wish the coffee shop there would have a few more grab + go items, like yogurt, banana, or savory pastry). Will def stay again when in Houston for work.

We had a great stay at Le Méridien Houston Downtown. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Our room did have some issues with hot water. The sink and shower would cycle scalding water every couple of minutes. Another thing was the lack of drink ware. I understand being environmentally conscious, but the lack of any water glasses in the room was not great. We ate breakfast at the Zutro . It was tasty, but the service was slow. They appeared understaffed. The Z23 rooftop bar was great.

I enjoyed it very much! Staff was awesome. Jeremy had outstanding customer service. The room was beautifuly basic. 12 floor to me was high enough. It was cozy and quiet. I wish there was a pool but i was happy to be there. Rooftop bar was so nice. The view was spectacular. The dining on the first floor was delicious. I recommend the pan seared salmon.!!! So good!

The rooms themselves were nice and clean but the food at the restaurant was terrible. Also their valet service is HORRIBLE !! We waited over an hour to get our car after check out. Others that were also waiting said they waited over an hour the previous night to get their car. I don’t understand for a hotel that isn’t cheap by any means to stay at have such horrible food and valet service.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Le Meridien Houston Downtown billed my account three times for a total of $534.03 for a room reservation that was canceled at least a week in advance. I have provided the cancellation number and still have not received a refund. Would not recommend this hotel. It is ridiculous. I prefer the Hilton.

Great hotel, friendly staff and engineer team ready to help for anything. A bit noisy , but if you don't mind the downtown noise like me, this place is great. In distance for any night attraction walking distance.

Good stay. Staff was very professional and accommodating. The rooftop bar was the talk and highlight however, was not much to it other than a bar on the roof and chairs and tables somewhat in a corner. The bar closes super early and the bar downstairs closes at 10. Room could have been cleaned a little better there was trash (paper and lint) that sat in a pile in the floor by the window from time we checked in until we checked out and housekeeping came in the room everyday. Other than that it was an ok stay was expecting a little more from a 4 star hotel.
