what a swanky place!!! this hotel has such a fun modern, young vibe to it and I really enjoy all of the design elements in the furniture and lighting and fabric choices. the front desk staff went above and beyond in checking me in to look into something about Marriott points for me and even made a few phone calls about it. Matthew was so helpful and detailed about how it works. I was impressed. it's a really random column in the middle of the entrance to this hotel room that kind of baffles me but okay. I would imagine that most rooms don't have this impressive wallpapered square column in the middle of the entryway. I will say that for a Marriott brand This is not quite the level of quality, cleanliness, and overall experience that I have come to expect. it's totally fine and acceptable, nothing disgusting or disturbing, but it's a little surprising considering that it's a Marriott hotel. but of course we picked this one from all of our options within a mile or two because it was the least expensive. so for the price or points that we are spending is absolutely fantastic and satisfactory. it just doesn't have that sparkle and shine, marble floors and chandeliers kind of feeling. it's more like swanky budget hotel. the location is very convenient to the convention center where we have an event and the walk there is safe enough that I feel somewhat okay walking by myself through the downtown streets in the dark. on my way here last night around 10:30 p.m., there were lots of people out in the park and walking around and even a robot security guard at one of the skyscraper plazas which was so cool!! the breakfast available is like a fridge with microwavable burritos and it's just barely a step up from what you'd get at a gas station. I will not be eating breakfast here. it's not free, it's not good quality, and its too expensive for what you get and there are very few choices. pretty much just like the snack bar with a few items that could technically count as a meal if needed. I think there are plenty of things in the next three or four blocks where I can pick up a croissant or breakfast sandwich or something. so I'll be going elsewhere to eat. which is fine. after a very busy and loud day traveling and at the convention this hotel is very quiet and I'm really happy to be here.

I’ve never left a review on a hotel before but I feel like this hotel was misleading in the online pictures. The pool was laughable. It was a tiny kiddie pool that was cloudy and green. The lobby of the hotel was alright, however it had obnoxious loud music all hours of the day/night. No breakfast is included and the options they did have were super limited and pricey. Now to the room. I am pretty sure I had blood spatter on the ceiling and light fixtures in my room. Disgusting. Hotel was fully booked so no place else to move. The room felt dirty and the safe did not work. I am surprised this is a Marriott property. The only good thing about this place is the location to downtown and it being walking distance to the convention center.

I think this is my new favorite hotel brand within the Marriott portfolio! First time in an Aloft hotel and I love it. Very electric atmosphere which reminds me of the W hotels brand. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff was very helpful! After a long day of international travel I was just glad to arrive at the hotel and the front desk staff - Chelsea - welcomed me with such great hospitality. Thanks so much it absolutely made my day! I travel a lot for both business and personal and this is one of the reasons why I always pick a Marriott/Bonvoy property! Thanks Aloft hotels for a welcoming stay!

Everything you expect at an Aloft. My biggest issue is that my companion went to get water, and the clerk told him they couldn't find the room and then asked him for a credit card. He gave him one. They ended up charging his card for the room instead of mine for way more than the cost of the room. Took him over a week to get the charge off his card. I had to fill out paperwork. A mess. They should have never asked him for, let alone, charged his card when mine was on file. The more I think about it. They had canceled my reservation because of my late arrival when I told them I would be arriving late.

First I wanted to say the stay itself was amazing I love being downtown in the mix and the night life beside our room not being completely clean finding someone else boxers was disgusting. But to write a complaint about them is just about how they just refused to refund extra money they charged me was a surprise because I’ve never had this problem. It’s been over two weeks and the hotel manager she is refusing to give my money after they gave me receipt of the price difference they charged me. And she even admitted to the charges and speaking to me prior about my money already being refunded until I tell her that I’ve spoken with my bank who has given my proof that no refund has been issued. But today I call about it still not received she now charges and says that she doesn’t know why they owe me money and that a refund was never issued and that even though I have pictures of the pending transaction and the receipt from checkout that no money is owed shame on them to lie and then my money. Don’t stay here ! You’ve been warned

Don't forget to use HotelDully.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. They compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the best in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you won't be let down. Being in town for work, I needed a lot quickly and she accommodated with a smile! I have a wonderful stay. The service definitely made up for my room facing a parking garage.

The staff at this hotel are wonderful! Super friendly and really care about making sure you have the best stay possible. The manager Steven and also Matthew at the front desk were especially great. Just a heads up the rooms with 2 beds either back onto a brick wall or parking garage. Great for sleeping, but no views. I would recommend this hotel for a short business stay or a short stay to see some baseball.

First and foremost they’re under new management so that means everything new and improved!!! Chelsea at the front desk was very helpful and patient with checking me and my family in. She also helped us with being able to check in early and she gave my cousin balloons for her 21st birthday. They have a rooftop has pool and bar, however the bar doesn’t serve food. But it has good reviews and good seating areas. We were literally right in the middle of downtown so everything was pretty much close to us!! It seems to be nice at night time because the lights light up and everyone is pretty much outside! 10/10 I would definitely recommend this hotel.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst Aloft I’ve ever been to in my life and I stay at the chain during all my trips. I called 3 days in advance to reserve a corporate booking. Submitted my authorization form ASAP. When I arrive at the hotel upon Check-in they ask me for my personal card information….. for a CORPORATE booking. No. That’s the entire reason for an authorization form beforehand. I’m representing my company and my company checked the box that said “all charges” so that you don’t ask the guest for ANYTHING. THEN after finally looking up the authorization form they give me my key. At the end of the night I ask housekeeping for more towels and the front desk clerk has the audacity to ask me how many sets of towels were in my room when I found them. Excuse me? Does it matter? I need to bathe more than once!!!!!!! I tell her 2 and she says we’re short on towels so we give you the amount of towels per guest only. You shouldn’t be taking bookings if you don’t have what you need to run a hotel. After several minutes of going back and forth she finally agrees to send me ONE set of towels. I guess I will have to call AGAIN in the morning to get another? Tuh. I cannot wait to check out of this poorly managed establishment in the morning. Never booking this location again. Thankfully there is one across the highway. DO NOT BOOK THE ALOFT IN AUSTIN TX ON EAST BEN WHITE BLVD !!!!!!

Very nice boutique hotel in downtown. Small rooms. First tried to occupy the darkroom with view on black wall with no daylight. Got better room after asking. Very friendly staff. Tiny pool on the roof, unfortunately ppl smoking weed there as well. Personally I will never understand the concept of open bathrooms with no doors. Neighborhood abandoned. Mall, restaurants and shops closed. Public parking 24 hrs / $20 one block away on San Jacinto and Walker.

Where do I begin came in at night Thursday. I was masked up she wasn't. I walked up and stated my name and attempted to show her the reservation number. She immediately said I'd and card for incidentals this is the night shift blonde dreads. I noticed the Caucasian lady behind me was tended to a bit more courteous. I tried to brush it off. The room she gave me was in the corner on a floor very tight like a closet. The bed was to the right of the room and the TV was literally facing the door meaning you would have to stand in the door to comfortably watch TV, I slept there overnight tired from driving. Asked for a better room in the morning new room had TV in front of bed but the room wouldn't stay cool. Staff not helpful nor informative for visitors the service was the worst. This came up as a 4 star because I have back issues I pay for comfort. $700 for 3 nights of a cheap motel 8 experience. I wasn't told if you need room service you have to ask because the sign is on the door to alert housekeeping. Was out all day come back no fresh towels nor cleaning. Call desk because of covid it has to be requested remind your stay patrons of that at the front desk. It was almost time for them to go she comes see me eating needed to because of pain medicine and says I can't clean if you are in your own room and can't wait just left towels. I will never ever stay at Aloft anywhere and Houston won't have to worry about me again! Dallas and other cities has some classy, nice boutique hotels. You are overcharging and nothing was fancy but the robbery you got away with on the price including the hundred dollars extra to park in the garage across the street! My time off was wasted, this the worst one I've been in yet. If 0 was an option you would have had it! Mrs. Ingram

I stayed at this location for approximately 30 days. I had the option of changing my hotel after a week of staying here, however, from day one of staying here the customer service displayed by the staff was a clear indicator that I would stay here all 30 days. With me being there for a month, the staff chose to remember who I was and made me feel welcome upon entry into the hotel and every time I’d leave the premises. From their recommendations on where I could eat or workout to them helping me with my Halloween costume, they served top tier service. More specifically, the staff that stood out with great service was Niesha, Antonio, Chelsea, Ambrosia, and Kris. I’d highly recommend anyone who’s looking to visit Houston to stay at the Aloft Downtown just to receive the same great hospitality that I received.

Clean, friendly, and spacious hotel for a business trip with my partner! Enjoyed the large clean rooms, big hallways, excellent well-sized gym, and honestly as a business traveler the credit-card enabled laundry machines were a big bonus. I also had wonderful interactions with the helpful staff at the front desk multiple times — Chelsea and Antonio were very kind, funny, and had the answers to all of my questions! It's rare to encounter hospitality staff who cares so much and has such great demeanors. When I come back to Houston next I'll definitely be staying here again!

Antonio was amazing. Even while under immense pressure of being overbooked and understaffed he was kind and courteous. He kept his cool and maintained a wonderful attitude. He was also the best bartender ever.

The Hotel is old, I can tell from the carpets and the rooms. However, it is clean and I have no problems at all, 3 things happened warranted the 3 stars rating. 1- I stayed for 4 nights, my room service was not completed except once and I had to call for my room to be done which is very inconvenient 2-the shower shampoo, body wash and conditioner are available and by design should be hung on the shower wall, body wash bottle hanger was broken and left to me by the sink where it did not belong! 3- Valet service was decent, however they always forgot to send me a link to call my car next morning and if you are in a hurry you are out of luck! Even the receptionist do not have their number.

First a special Thankyou to MARINA! She gave me great recommendations and was very helpful with directions. Being in town for work, I needed a lot quickly and she accommodated with a smile! I have a wonderful stay. The service definitely made up for my room facing a parking garage.

The bed was comfy and hotel was nice/clean. It felt pretty secure (you badge in with your hotel key after hours). Antonio was very friendly and helpful. Location was convenient for wherever I needed to go. I like this location and would stay again. And I would recommend this location to others (family, friends, etc.)

Perfect value for a quick birthday trip with family. Our daughters loved the rooftop pool and the fun lobby. Service was amazing. Niesha and Antonio (as well as the manager whose name we didn't catch) were so kind and friendly and spoiled both of our daughters. Would definitely recommend for a quick trip into town!

Chelsea, Ambrosia, and Niesha all showed the upmost level of customer service. I was honestly skeptical about staying there because of the initial rating of 3.9 stars. After my stay, I don’t understand why the rating is at least 4.5…at the least. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only negative is the view of a brick wall out my window 😂

This motel is top-notch, especially thanks to Antonio & Chelsea at the front desk. They’re super friendly and helpful! Just came back a second trip and Antonio was still working hard at the front desk! I watched him go about and beyond for a customer who (by their actions) definitely deserved less!

I would say our stay at the Aloft was average. The best thing about this place was Neisha (the front desk employee) and Sarah (the valet parking attendant). Neisha was very friendly and accommodating in getting us an early check in. Sarah was also friendly and was very quick when checking me in and when retrieving my vehicle. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Rooftop pool was nice. The location is also nice as we were able to walk to get something to eat and drink. Starbucks a few blocks over :) We felt safe here. Don't know that I would recommend a stay here though as we did encounter a few issues: 1) The water in the shower was SCALDING hot and we were barely able to shower as our skin was literally burning. 2) The water from the bathroom sink REEKED of sewage every time it ran. Made us a little nauseous while brushing our teeth. 3) We also accidentally broke a glass wine bottle on the bathroom floor and the gentleman who came to "clean it up", only brought a trash bag? He did not bring a broom, mop or a vacuum... only brought a broom after asking him to get something so that we would not be stepping on glass. We scrubbed the floor ourselves with towels to get the white wine smell off of the floor. 4) We bought a few items from the little store downstairs and could tell some items were not fresh. My sister got the meat and cheese snack and the cheese was completely hard and I wanted to get a bagel but they were all hard as well. We purchased the fruit and a rice crispy and those were fine. Overall, not a terrible experience but I most likely would not stay with an Aloft again.

Nice hotel with not a lot of amenities. No food included. Provided coffee for free. Room was nice except for the shower temperature. Very low pressure and took a long time to get the right temp. It was either scolding hot or ice cold. No parking at the hotel except for a very expensive valet service. Great location. Very close to the main drag with bars and restaurants.

We had a work social on the Aloft rooftop tonight and it was great! Antonio is a wonderful bartender and very sweet and accommodating. Everyone had a good time! Also want to add a shout out to Beyoncé as she made sure we had everything we needed. She was fantastic! Chelsea was checking in with us too. We were well taken care of for sure! Thank you for a successful event!!

Stay anywhere else, this place is definitely a scam. I was EXTREMELY upset about my stay but tried to stay as friendly as possible to staff because it isn’t their fault Online it says it’s half the price it actually is, we went assuming it would be $117 for a room like it said online and we told the front desk this and they said no it would be $250-$350 for a room on the second floor that doesn’t even have sound proof windows and no view. Downtown is extremely noisy at all hours so I didn’t sleep at all. On top of this breakfast isn’t even included and there’s no parking. The rooms are average at best and there are HOMELESS PEOPLE SLEEPING IN THE LOBBY. I should’ve just done that and saved myself money. They also don’t tell you that they charge you double the cost of the room in case you damage it and they don’t return your money for a few days so really I paid $500 when I would’ve had a better time at a holiday inn or motel 6. Don’t stay here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the pleasure of being served by Antonio, and I must say, he is a true gem! He went above and beyond to make my drink just the way I liked it. Antonio's kindness and dedication to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. If you're looking for an exceptional bartender who knows how to make your night special, Antonio is the one to see. Thank you for the outstanding service!

Antonio and Chelsea were phenomenal. We booked the roof top for a work event Andy whole staff enjoyed. Thank you so much for being gentle and accommodating. We appreciate you and we’ll for sure be back!

This was an amazing experience. I felt very welcomed after meeting and speaking with Antonio. He and Quinton were so polite and they helped ease my mind because originally I was nervous to stay here at A loft due to the reviews but I honestly think you should have a 5 star rating. Thank you guys for making me comfortable, it’s appreciated!

The customer service at this location was great. Front desk was always welcoming and the valet was always prompt. I think personally, I'm not a fan of this brand hotel though, not at all my style. My room had a window but, it was looking at a brick wall. The hotel smells like weed even though it says no smoking. I did love the staff though.

The pool, small and not heated, is on the roof. There is a bar up there as well and also one in the lobby. The rooftop terrace was nice with plenty of seating. The feel is a little"Euro" and a little "futuristic" and all of the staff we had contact with went out of their way to make our stay great. Now for why this isn't a 5 star review. The TV in the room had a bezel so wide they look like they were manufactured 20 years ago (think 70's butterfly collars and not ins good way). Given the aesthetic of everything else, they were just so out of place. The mini fridge in the room should have been called a micro fridge as it was so tiny. Not a lot, but enough to edge out that last coveted star.

  • 5/5 Daniela Z. 2 years ago on Google
Stayed here a couple of times. Too often have I gotten a room without a window, odd. Location is within walking distance to offices and restaurants. There's a parking lot across the street so you won't get too much of a city view. The staff is always friendly. I like the mini snack bar they have in the lobby, fast and convenient

  • 1/5 Laurie D. 2 years ago on Google
The room was A LOT smaller then shown in the pictures. The room design was terrible. Our view was a parking garage and we could not open the shades due to people able to look right into our room, and the other window was a concrete wall. The bathroom set up was not good for 2 people staying in the room. There was a sliding door just to the toilet . So that means if you are getting dressed your basically getting dressed where the other person can see you . there is no privacy what's so ever. Lastly there was NO room service. They did not come clean the room each day. If you needed towels or anything you had to call them, you also had to leave your trash outside the door. Once you check out they come clean the room. The bar open at 5pm , and closed whenever the bartender felt like it, He was nice but not ideal. Would not stay here again

I will never ever ever ever EVER stay at this hotel again. I will write more once I talk to a manager regarding my situation (just emailed them) However, under no circumstances should ANYONE NOT EMPLOYED OR CONTRACTED BY THE HOTEL BE IN MY VEHICLE THAT I PAID TO BE VALET. THEN YOU SITTING IN MY CAR REVVING THE ENGINE?!?!?! My sports car that I paid for with my hard earned money!! I can only do that period!! Then when I go to get my car in the morning it's still not parked right and was left in a tow away zone. I hope management responds asap and can provide me with a stellar explanation As to why this was allowed. Thank you Aloft for a wonderful Christmas experience!!!

It’s clean but there are other hotels in the area that cost around the same that are way better than this. Overall overpriced, no restaurant in the hotel and they have a very limited variety of snacks that you can buy. Neither the ice machine, or the escalator worked, the valet parking was super slow and they only have four luggage carts (FOUR!!! FOR THE ENTIRE HOTEL) I say if you are planning to spend over $250 a night for a room this is not the hotel you should pick.

The shower tiles are backwards: smooth large tiles on the floor and smaller textured tiles on the wall. Because the floor tiles are too big to properly slant the floor, our shower had a hard time draining. The W/C sliding door was loud and heavy. Otherwise the room was pretty good. We liked the observation of "national freezer pop" or "national jello" day - fun bonus. Also appreciated the pool table in the lobby. Good and easy breakfast, plus other dining options are walkable. We were disappointed that it was so hard to refill water bottles, but the staff were helpful in providing disposable bottles when asked. Would consider staying here again.

One of many hotels we’ve stayed out on our multi-state trip. Location is great, in downtown Houston, corner hotel. Parking was a bit complicated but we found on across the street for $25, unlimited in and out privileges. The hotel was quiet and modern with a retro vibe. Our room was cozy. It was warm when we walked in but cooled down once we turned on the air. The bed was comfy and everything was in great condition. The pool was nice, a bit small but nice to hang out in.. the night time views from the pool were absolutely stunning. The ONLY complaint I have, that I totally forgot to mention to the front desk, there was a live roach in our bathroom. My husband killed it and flushed it down the toilet. It wasn’t a dirty room or hotel so I’m assuming/hoping it was a first time/one time deal. Idk. But it happened. Other than that, no complaints or issues.

The gentleman that checked me in is probably one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. It seems like he wouldn’t hurt a fly. So this made my stay absolutely amazing! Check in was 10-7 around 8pm The hotel is very clean and very cozy. Walls are a little thin. Heard laughing girls from 8am until 5pm. But it is what it is. Rooms are small but that’s expected at an Aloft. You’ll enjoy your stay.

Everything was beautiful except being in rooms with full-size windows facing the parking garages. Made me feel like someone could see me. I changed rooms from 404 to 507 because 404 was the first room adjacent to the elevator, and I kept being awakened by noise in the hallway several times in the middle of the night. Great location, near several places to walk, eat, etc. Beautiful hotel. Nice rooftop pool and bar. The staff is very friendly and quick and personable.

Wasn't a big fan of this hotel. Self park was in a location not connected to the hotel, so given my late arrival I didn't feel safe parking it and then walking over to the hotel late at night. Valet parking staff were friendly and professional but they need more attendants - took them very long to bring my car around. The hotel itself looks well-worn. My room was spacious but could have been cleaned a lot better. Overall, it was an ok stay. The only reason I'm giving a three star review instead of 2 is because of the very professional, sweet front desk staff. I didn't get the name of the young man and woman who were attending in the morning. They were very helpful. The evening front desk attendant, Matthew, was one of the most professional hotel staff members I've ever come across at any hotel, and I've traveled a lot for the past 10 years for work. He has such a bright, cheery attitude and was always able to help me/provide me with answers regarding services at the hotel. Such a sweet, young man. Your hotel is VERY lucky to have him. Please give him a raise!

First off, I love the historical building and the fact that Aloft kept this building original as possible. Parking is simple with either valet or parking deck directly across the street (reasonably priced). Roughly 1/2 mile walk to Minute Maid Park or GRB convention center. Rooms are spacious and clean! We had a queen and a king room, no problems with either. Pool table and bar on the first floor and roof top bar with swimming pool. Neat place to hang out and enjoy the Houston skyline and lights! Staff was super friendly and helpful throughout the hotel.

I stayed here for about 3 weeks. Overall I had an good stay. The staff was absolutely amazing. One guy would sing every morning and was full of energy and it def helped get my day started. The only thing that bothered me was I work late at night so I sleep during the day and even with my DND sign house keeping was constantly waking me up, rather they were trying to get in not knowing I extended my stay. Sometimes they’ll come back to back even when I’ve already told them. Or you’ll hear them loudly in the morning in the hall ways talking to each other and doors slamming and I kid you not it woke me up everyday around 11am. Walls are really thin. I also wish it was an easier way to extend my stay, the phone wouldn’t connect to front desk so I had to go down every couple of days to extend it. However that’s not completely their fault, I wasn’t sure how long I planned to stay. But other than door slamming in the morning & house keeping waking me up I like the vibe of the place. It was fun to go downstairs and see people at the bar or playing pool.

We had a fantastic stay this weekend at the Aloft Hotel in Downtown Houston. Chelsea and Flor went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. This Aloft and the Aloft Hotels in Corpus Christi, Austin Domain and Georgetown have made it very difficult for us to want to stay at any other Hotel. Thanks for making us feel special.

Front desk staff was great in check in night. The morning was less pleasant of an experience since they seemed short staffed. Rooms were clean enough but could have been cleaned better. Because we couldn't adjust the air/heat it was VERY stuffy in the room and I did NOT like that I couldn't get any fresh air in from the windows.

Nice hotel and good features! Only downside is that every hotel room view is of a parking garage - I asked for an upgraded view and they told me all rooms have the same view, so it was disappointing especially being in downtown Houston. Just wanted to share for anyone else traveling out here wanting a good view. I give 3 stars because compared to all the options out in Houston this is pretty mediocre.

  • 5/5 Rebecca T. 7 months ago on Google
The staff is absolutely amazing! They are so funny and full of energy. From the valet and security team to Quentin and Chelsea at the front desk...this hotel is worth every penny. This team is friendly and such an asset to ALOFT and totally make the experience great. The rooms are clean and modern and the kids love the lobby pool table.
