Rooms wouldn’t stay cool with three functional air conditioners. Hotel is old and looks very run down. No turn down service or cleaning of any kind. No breakfast unless you buy overpriced items from the front desk. Hallways have odd odors. Toilets are eco, which is good, but it takes 3-4 flushes which would seem to defeat the purpose. No towels in the room. Wouldn’t stay here again, but the front desk staff was nice and helpful, location was convenient.

I just moved into town with my mom and we Stayed here for a few days. A couple days into our stay we were having problems with the front desk workers. My mom went to go extend the room for another night before she goes to work at 7am and she asked the guy if he needed her card. He tell her no and comes back later and gives her the room key. I’m (her daughter) still in the room while she went to work, wakes up to house keeping tell me I need to leave when my mom has already spoke to them about extending the room. I call the front desk and tell them there must be a mistake and she tell me there’s no mistake. She told me she didn’t see my mother come down but I later find out that the girl behind the desk was never there!!! So why are you saying you never seen her if you weren’t there. So come to find out he never extended the room for us but told my mother that he did!!! They weren’t very apologetic and were taking his side like we had a reason to lie or something. I want to say the next day me and my mom went out and came back to the room after eating to find our room door locked from the inside due to the privacy latch over the door. I would say it’s about 9 or 10 pmThe lady who was there who happened to be the manager told us there’s nothing she can do until the morning. She told us this has never happened before…. But we find out from somebody else at the hotel that it in fact does and she could’ve called somebody. Me (the daughter) ends up gets the door open without the managers help. I feel like she could’ve help or tired to do something but she just sat behind the desk until her replacement came. I also feel like we should’ve got a discount due to the worker not extending our room and lying saying she never came downstairs. The shuttle driver was the only nice worker there.

A bit of a shady area, but room and bedding was very clean, nice kitchenette, ice cold AC. Service mediocre but I think I caught the desk lady at the end of her shift, she seemed tired. Nice pool, and fitness room is definitely usable. Overall, good experience especially for the bargain price. Would stay again next time I'm in Houston.

I recently had an appointment at MD Anderson for some tests and, being unfamiliar with the area, I searched for nearby lodging to make a 0900 appointment. Unfortunately, it seemed as if all the hotels were out of my price range but I was able to choose MainStay Suites Texas Medical Center/Reliant Park from a list provided by MD Anderson. It was budget friendly and very close to the huge medical complex where MD Anderson is located. I was told to plan to be available for 3-5 days for tests and I reserved online for 3 days. Turns out, I only needed one day and Mainstay Suites allowed me to cancel without any penalty. The rooms (suites) are spacious and mine, at least, had a DVD player, full sized refrigerator, a full sized stove, coffee maker with coffee, a dishwasher, and a microwave. The room was stocked with paper towels, pots and pans, plates, and silverware - basically everything you'd need except for the food! They also provide shuttle service to the Texas Medical Center and it appears many of the guests were medical patients. There was an outdoor pool and an extensive library of free DVDs checked out at reception. I highly recommend this property for the well though conveniences in the rooms, as well as being only five minues from the Texas Medical Center.

I stay here for at least four nights a month, the staff always remembers me and they are so welcoming, The rooms have everything to prepare meals from either food you brought from home or something you picked up at nearby grocery stores. Stove top, Microwave, toaster and a usable selection of utensils and dishes. The free shuttle to and from the med center and any other location nearby is awesome. Gary, the driver is friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

Loved the hotel room and it's located in the nice spot. Few miles away from TSU and close to the highway. The room was clean and had a small kitchen too. It's nice to have a sofa and everything like a studio room more than a hotel room. The reception staff was so friendly, I missed greeting them but they were always polite and greeted everyone. Breakfast was okay and only waffles and bread were available. Wish they had other food, but after a long time I enjoyed making waffles in the morning. Coffee was amazing and great customer service. Will be staying again. 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍

First, check in wasn't that great, not very friendly, 2nd when I got to my room I noticed the back door wouldn't fully close, even while locked. And at night, the parking lot lights would shine so bright through the balcony door, I would have to put a blanket over the door to block out the light. Breakfast was just waffles and oatmeal. Best thing about that hotel was the shuttle driver. He was extremely friendly, asked about my dad, who was in the hospital, every day. If it wasn't for him I'd be given a 1 star review of this hotel.

I have been staying at this hotel for 4 years now since my son goes to TSU which is close by. This has been the first time I have had a Bad experience. The hotel room was good as usual. But when we checked out and got home our bank account had two incidental charges on it. I called the hotel and they said I had to call back and speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager Mary Ann and she said I would need to speak to the Regional manager the next day. The next day I spoke to Blossom the Reginal manager and she was very Rude and Unprofessional. She said they did not see the error in their system and I needed to call my bank. Which I had already talked to them. Such Bad customer service and I am also a member of this hotel chain. This manager told me she was done talking and hung up in my face. That's Not how you treat your customers. I just want my money corrected and back in my account. Blossom needs to take some guest service classes because her attitude was very Rude. I will Not be staying at this hotel again. If you stay here beware and check your account before you leave.

The pictures of the exterior of the hotel are very misleading and outdated they dont even come close to the exterior appearance from pictures online and a very sketchy area as far as vehicle safety. Rooms are musty of cigarette smoke, and smelled weed a few times. The mattress was horrible, the elevators were concerning. We really just needed a place to sleep for our child's hospital visit, and the walls are thin, can hear tvs, door slamming, a full building vibration throughout the night, and very disruptive for sleep, for adults and children. The pillows were small and minimal and towels were scarce, amenities in the room do not meet minimal requirements for maximum room occupancy. There are places along the outer walls that are sunken in and unlevel from what seems like previous water damage that was just covered up. There are building stress fractures in the ceilings. We weren't told about the extra $100 damage deposit with attached credit card info required upon arrival and the staff wanted to smile and laugh through explaining this like they were conning you. Definitely not a child friendly facility. I am really surprised this place is still in business.

I really liked the set up of the rooms but we found blood and lots of it on the mattress when we got into the room for the evening. It was pretty late and no one at the front desk. This hotel is near the medical center so I know sick people stay there after treatments. The blood was very concerning because I had children with me who would be sleeping in this bed. When we checked in, the man at the front was very nice and friendly. We only stayed one of the 4 nights we planned, due to the blood issue. It was $124 a night to sleep in the floor and on a recliner. And the air was a portable unit in the bedroom.

Clean, quiet & affordable. Free breakfast includes make your own waffles, toast, muffins, biscuits, hot & cold cereal. Kitchenette in the room with 2 burner cook top, decent sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker plus dishes, cookware & utensils. Pullout couch for extra guest & extra blanket & pillows in the room. Very accommodating & friendly staff. Easy access to medical center.

This hotel is the a little below the bare minimum which would be 3 stars but I didn’t feel safe. There was a massive opening between the door and frame where you could see into the hallway. Yes, my door was locked but I didn’t feel safe so I even went so far to put the chair under the handle. The walls were so thin and with the gap I could hear everyone talk and walk by. I only stayed for maybe 8 hours but it did have a decent kitchenette. The shower curtain was falling apart, the furniture was like someone’s grandma’s bedroom, and the bedding was only a blanket, sheet, and a weird ugly cover thing. Updates are needed, guests should feel safe, and I will be paying more next time at a different hotel for peace of mind.

Worst hotel stay in my life!!! They put my reservation under a different name, put us in the wrong room and weren’t told we were in the wrong room until checkout. They overcharged me and I ended up with 6 different unauthorized transactions. When I try to handle the situation the front desk told me that she couldn’t let me speak to a manager and that they was nothing they could do about my almost $500 refund I was supposed to get back from them! She said go look in the yellow pages and call the main Mainstay people, just ridiculous! They never gave me back my deposit either and it’s been a whole month that passed by! I was celebrating my daughters birthdays that weekend and I am a single mom of two! It was a lot of money they took from me.. it’s been a month and I still haven’t gotten my money back! Overcharged basically for mistakes that were made by them when they should have only been two transactions. Please don’t stay here and if you do check your account because a lot of unauthorized transactions, mistakes, and overcharging can happen here. Please train your front desk personnel better. Still waiting on my high refund from them…

We've stayed here dozens of times over the past 5 years while our son has worked on his PhD at university el Houston. It's always nice, clean, good internet, comfortable room for spending multiple days. It's always ridiculously overpriced when we go for our son's birthday (during spring break and rodeo). But most of the rest of the time it's very reasonable.

Clean place, smells good, not too noisy. Only issue was with TV Cable, and not impressed with breakfast. Waffles and coffee is not Breakfast in Texas. Other things were available in the Store. Price was really good, made buying and bringing in breakfast was still a good deal. New Owners, they will get better. WILLINGNESS TO TRY to fix the issues was good.

I needed a place to stay as a live donor at MD ANDERSON. It was inexpensive. The staff was (mostly) friendly, the shuttle driver really rubbed me the wrong way. Across the street is some sort of warehouse facility that seems to run a 3rd shift operation so on week nights it was very noisy with 18-wheelers backing up all night. BEEP BEEP BEEP!!! Maybe bring earplugs or sound machine? There is no continental breakfast, probably my own fault for assuming they had one. Also, the shuttle only runs on weekdays. I needed to be at MD Anderson everyday. Fortunately it is close so Uber wasn’t expensive but I felt it was misleading to advertise shuttle service when it runs on bankers hours. Also, the shuttle driver acted like he would pick me up whenever I called him, giving me a card with his number to call whenever I needed. No. He only does pick ups once an hour. I passed out waiting for a ride outside MDA in the heat after having injections. Also, probably my own fault, just making others aware. It’s not excellent service, just good enough to get by.

Slightly above avg… building looks very dingy outside and needs some upgrades. Couldn’t get a receipt when I was leaving because the internet went down. Mattress felt cheap and 📺 was very small. Nothing special about this place at all The place doesn’t smell but I didn’t notice a clean scent The gym was adequate This would be a decent place if you just needed a place to lay your head a few days

This hotel has the potential to be nice, but there were many details that were overlooked. Fixtures were installed crooked or off-center. The bedroom was so tiny that there was only one table beside the bed, so there was nowhere to put a necessary medical device. We were very disappointed that despite breakfast being on the website, it had been discontinued. A free hot breakfast was a big factor in choosing this hotel. We likely would not choose this hotel again based on these factors.

Thank you Mary, Blossom, Gary and Henderson for all the extra kindness you showed to George and I. He took the shuttle service for radiation at MD Anderson. Unfortunately, the outcome was not as hoped for as he passed away in June 2021. We stayed there for 2 months during May, June 2020. Our room was clean and comfortable and the kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. Having a laundry and everything we needed helped us manage through the Pandemic. I will always remember how gracious every staff member treated us.

We liked the rooms and enhoy our stay but the place DEFINITELY needs some updating to include furnishings like the bedding and the mattresses. My back yall... it's a no for me because of the bed. BUT here is why 3 stars 🌟 is a high as I can go with this specific location. I have a LARGE family. We ended up staying here due to an unfortunate family medical situation. We needed to be close to the Medical Center and we needed an adjoining room with a balcony. That kart worked out well as it had a bed and bathroom on both sides with a microwave/coffee on boths sides. The master side had a mini fridge that was unfortunately when we entered the room. We didn't use it and placed a towel on the floor to catch the drip. Now here's the fun part. We were awaken before 7 am to a nice young lady informing is that the lower room stated our room was leaking into theirs. There was a lot of back and forth and drowsy conversations but it felt incredibly disturbing to have them invade our space about a leak then proceed to find NOTHING AT ALL LEAKING. They advised us to turn the dysfunctional tub/shower stopper a certain way to help alleviate the issue. We weren't mad about the situation but we did feel it should have resolved in a more professional manner.

My stay here was wonderful!! The Manager Mary Ann was a gem. She is a hands on manager and she took a personal concern in my complaint. She actually made it not worth talking about. Her staff were some of the nicest and helpful people I have come in contact with in a long time. I was greeted with a smile daily (Dawn), assisted when needed (Pee Bee), and went above and beyond their duties to make sure I was comfortable (Tiana). Good customer service is so rare these days, but the employees here still know how to make a customer feel special. I was very pleased with my stay and look forward to staying there again on my next visit.

Nice hotel . Service is awesome. Kind workers that took the time for me . Quiet room. Very clean and roomy. Breakfast had pancakes, multiple cereals to pick from, home made oatmeal with toppings, fresh muffins and a juice station that wasn’t watered down. Thank you for a nice stay while I was tending to a family member at MD Anderson.

Nice clean rooms. Like the kitchen at very much. Henderson and Gary are the shuttle drivers, both extremely polite, courteous men with a knowledge of the area and M.D Anderson. I'm sure we'll be staying there again soon.

The room was okay, good price, and very close to MD Anderson. The staff was awesome and very attentive. Our shuttle driver was very accommodating to my parents and made sure that they were at their appointments on time.

The staff is amazingly friendly! Gary drop us off at the rodeo and picked us up in a timely manner considering the traffic no issues. Location was a great spot! The room was super clean and the kitchenette definitely came in handy! We will be returning for future events! Thanks again everyone!

This review will take a minute. Very eclectic guests but all seem to find this place the perfect respite. The rooms are a bit dated, yet clean and comfortable. The shuttle to the Medical district is great! The driver (Gary) very knowledgeable about the area. Now the best part - the staff! They are A-1. I got the appeal of this diamond in the rough. Everyone from the front desk to the maintenance friendly, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and just good people. The bar is incredibly high for customers service! Thank you all for making my stress less.
