Got some issues here: 1) Not so clean. The tile floor was so sticky in my room I finally found had to wipe it with a wash cloth. 2) Several of the external doors didn’t open with the key card which caused guests and perhaps staff to prop the door open with sticks and rocks. 3) The parking lot seems to be a cut through for pedestrian traffic which makes the unlocked exterior doors more interesting. 4) I asked for an ice bucket and was told they’re out. They gave me a trash bag for ice. 5) While in the lobby, a guest came up to report that the catalytic converter was a cut off his car in the hotel parking lot the night before. Foot traffic through the parking lot may be about casing vehicles. I will convey that the staff was all courteous and helpful. No complaints with the staff. Seems like a management issue here to me.

It's a shame I'd have to write this review. Other than a great location near MD Anderson, the service was absolutely horrendous. The elevators were broken. I had no idea. I got stuck in the elevator. Thankfully I was able to get off. The shower is extremely complicated that I tried calling downstairs from the room phone. Unfortunately THAT too was broken. I had to call from my personal cell phone. I mentioned to the overnight manager that the shower didn't have a shower valve. Unaware of the "special design" of the shower pull tab underneath the faucet, the manager said she would come by and show me. I had my 6 year old in the tub, bathing. She made it up very fast with a broken elevator. She must have been superwoman. Very angrily she stormed into the bathroom and showed me how to work the shower, pulling at every possible knob on the faucet Thankfully I had my daughter waiting with a towel wrapped around her. She talked to me as if I was unintelligent. I mentioned how fast she ran up the stairs. She said the elevator is working. She failed to mention that over the phone. Then proceeded to tell me if I had any problems to tell the manager in the morning and slammed my door. Extended stay...get some a new management team. You're dealing with cancer patients on a daily basis. We already have a lot on our plate. ✌🏽

While the hotel offers an affordable stay, I must share my experience to raise awareness for future guests. During our two-night stay starting December 1st in Room 127, we encountered bedbugs, resulting in discomfort, itching, and skin irritation. Promptly, the hotel accommodated our concerns by relocating us to another room. However, the initial room faced areas undergoing mold control treatment, raising suspicions of potential bedbug issues. The overall condition of the hotel, including a noticeable odor, was disappointing. Regrettably, we had to discard some belongings to prevent bringing bedbugs home. I strongly recommend cautious consideration before booking at this hotel. It’s advisable to read additional reviews to make an informed decision. My intention is to inform potential guests about our experience, hoping they don’t encounter similar challenges.

We stayed here due to the proximity to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital and because we expected to have an extended stay of up to 10 days. Our room was completely infested with roaches. There are many cancer patients who stay here and they have a very weak immune system. This is not just unhealthy, but dangerous to cancer patients. The toilet seat was just sitting on the toilet and not attached. The elevator buttons did not work properly. When I complained to the front desk all I was told was thank you for my input. We cut our stay short and canceled our week long stay for the following week.

I booked at Extended Stay America near the Texas Medical Center the night before a meeting in the area. I have stayed at Extended Stay America's before, but this was disappointing. When I arrived, the staff, Blue, was her name, wasn't at the counter. No big deal, everyone has to step away from time to time; however, I quickly learned the desk never seemed to be attended. If you needed something, you just had to go stand there until someone realized you were there. When Blue did come to the desk, there were no smiles or pleasantries, but she checked me in efficiently. I arrived at my door, and it was smudged and a bit grimy, but I said to myself, as long as it was clean on the inside, who cares. I walked in, and it smelled clean like bleach and fresh laundry. The counter was clean, so I set my stuff down. I noticed stains on the floor. I pulled back the sheets, and they were clean. I realize stains can be clean, and it could just be old, and I say to myself that as long as the bed is clean, I am fine talking myself out of leaving. The bathroom is ADA wheelchair accessible tile walking shower that appears either dirty or stained. It is definitely old. I hadn't noticed at that time how filthy the bottom of the shower curtain was at this time, so I say to myself, it smelled good and the sheets were clean, so it must be fine. While I run out to grab a dinner, I decide I am not putting my bare feet on the shower floor, so I stop to buy shoes I can wear in the shower. I wore them around the room from around 8:30 pm until I was dressed at 6:30 am keeping I'm mind I slept for 7 of those hours (essentially 3 hours), and the bottom of the shoes I had just bought were dirty by the time I took them off at 6:30. There is a picture below. I never left the room and only wore them to shower, dress, and back and forth from the bed to the bathroom. I do not recommend this place, especially for those who are caring for loved ones in the hospitals of the medical center. Their standard of cleaning may not be adequate to keep you and your loved one safe.

Absolutely worse experience ever. They put us on the third floor and after the gave us the keys they told us the elevator did not work. It was late at night and our daughter is sleeping on the pull out couch. They didn’t even give us bedding for the pull out we had to walk all the way back down the stairs to get the bedding. Our door handle feels like it’s going to fall off. People have music blaring in the rooms. It was very hot in our room with both ac units running at 60 it never got cool in there. They didn’t have the pool opened and my daughter was really looking forward for the pool. Also there is roaches. This place needs to be demolished. Never book here run away.

The only saving grace for this place is the location is near MD Anderson. In the three days we were there we saw ONE luggage cart that was never available. We were lucky in that we at least had a working elevator when we were there. Most of the clientele here are cancer patients. It would seem that Extended Stay would consider this and not try to maximize profits at the expense of their very sick customers. Our door had a huge gap at the bottom, so everyone enjoyed our crying puppy all over the third floor while my husband had appointments. Not only that, the door had a lot of play..it didn’t seem like it would have been very difficult to shove our door in, so it didn’t feel very secure. That’s a new low for this location. I’ve never felt unsafe in leaving things in the room, but I did this time. The breakfast quality has declined and they no longer offer oatmeal packets. Coffee used to be available all day…no more…just early in the morning and it’s bad. You have to beg for cookware and plates etc at this location and you are usually sent away because they aren’t available yet. When we first stayed here these things were already in the room, so knowing they no longer are, we bring our own cookware etc…the problem is there’s no luggage cart for the extras from home. I only saw one tiny roach while we were here, so they do seem to be trying to get the bugs under control. One side of our room was cold and the unit by the bed struggled to keep the room comfortable, which made for a restless nights sleep. This place needs extensive renovations, but the people staying here would probably happily accept three new luggage carts. It’s the very least Extended Stay could do for this location.

We arrived at this hotel on them 15th of Jan 2020. We picked this hotel because I have a schedule delivery on the following Monday. The first room provided had hair all over the linen. We were offered another room but quickly realized the television was missing a remote. We called to the front desk and the she pretty much told us there was no extra remotes and no rooms available. So, we just decided to stay because we were exhausted from the long ride. As im sitting on the bed, I noticed a bug crawling on the bed. I immediately jumped up and took a photo to look at it up on google. I quickly found out it was a bed bug! Went downstairs to inform the front desk lady and demanded a refund. The lady asked us to provide evidence, which I did. She then informed us that the books were closed and we wont be refunded until Monday. After all that she had the nerve to offered us another room!! I wouldn't suggest this hotel to my worst enemy! The lack of cleaniness and customer service is frightening!

Worst night ever in a hotel. I wanted to be as close to MD Anderson as I could, bad idea! I killed a roach, mattress on the sofa sleeper needs to be in a dump and it looks like mold around a window that does not close, I originally paid for a week, full refund, came last night, leaving right now. How is this acceptable?

My husband, four grandchildren, and I stayed at Extended Stay America twice, while one grandchild was going to medical appointments at Texas Children's Hospital. The location was perfect! Service was friendly! Cleaning leaved something to be desired. Our room wasn't nasty, but it needed a deep cleaning. The hotel smells musty and strong cooking odors are embedded in the carpets and walks if the hallways. However, during one stay, we had to go downstairs and ask for enough linens for one sofa bed, five shampoos, plates for everyone, silverware for everyone, and enough towels for our family, after we booked a room for six people. The repeated trips to the desk were frustrating. During the second stay, we ordered from Pizza Hut, set our pizza on the table, and a roach ran across the top of the box. That was nasty! The hotel needs better extermination services. We won't stay at Extended Stay America again.

Carpet is filthy and greasy. There are no supplies available for the kitchen, even after a week here. I had to buy a coffee maker, dishes, glasses and flatware. The safety latch on the door is broken. The table is in the kitchen is coming off the wall. The dishwasher is broken. The elevator has been out of service all week. Dogs bark continuously and you can’t reach anyone at the front desk.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! I arrived at this hotel in late August as a transfer law student waiting for my apartment to come available, and it was a huge mistake! Here where my issues: While here, I experienced roaches in my bed, in the shower and on/in my belongings. Second, I experience spiders being on my bed side table. Third, the elevator was sketchy, being as it was out every other day I was there. Fourth, the place smells of mildew and pet urine. Fifth, the rooms had stains on the floors and the showers were gross. Last, they promise a free breakfast as part of your stay, and they only set out a fruit or a muffin. To address the bug problem: When I first noticed the roaches, I was laying in bed and saw it crawl past my face. I pulled the covers back to see roaches under the covers as well. I started checking all over my room and realized roaches where in the shower area as well. I reported the incident to the Assistant Manager, who I believe was Maria. She apologized and offered to me me rooms. She promised this would not be an issue in my new room and that they would have the room treated immediately. After transferring rooms, the next night, there were roaches in the bed again after coming home from a long day of classes. I immediately demanded a refund and was told I had to wait for the manager to come in the morning and that if I left, there is no guarantee that I would get my money back. They forced me to stay an additional night and sleep in my car outside, because I refused to sleep in the hotel that was roach infested. They refused to refund me for my entire stay: The next morning, I spoke to Maria and she told me she would only refund me for my remaining nights and not for the entire stay. This was unacceptable. My next steps: After this review, I will be contacting the State Health Department to file a complaint. Hopefully, the local county health department does a full and thorough inspection/investigation. This is unacceptable. ** for some reason, it won't let me attach my videos as well.

Stayed here due to close proximity to MD Anderson- never again. The person who checked me in was not friendly, was abrasive, and made minimal eye contact. The toilet did flush properly. No maintenance personal available to fix the toilet until tomorrow. There was a creepy man staying there. He spoke to me, I did not give a reply and I did not make eye contact.I felt unsafe. The hallway stunk. The elevator did not work. What about wheel accessibility to the other two floors with the elevator not working. Another question of safety. There only breakfast was a muffin and coffee. They was no sugar, sweet and low or splenda for your coffee Wont stay there again, Terrible. Don't stay here walk away.

First off, dont bother apologizing cause all the 1 star reviews and problems over from what i read months have not been resolved. The best thing yall can do is shut down and renovate. I wouldn't WORK here, much less stay again. So hold your so-called apologies cause unless you do something about it, it doesn't mean a dang thing. The only reason you got a 1 star is because it wouldn't let me review without it. You can tell this place is old and not kept up. As soon as I walked in the door, it smelled like dog piss. The bathroom door had a hole in it. The door facing into the bathroom was falling to pieces. There was dried soap on the soap holder in the shower. Thankfully, i had water shoes. I could feel the shower floor give when I stepped in it, and I weigh nothing. One of the computer chairs at the dining table had a big stain on it. The couch had about a 6 inch rip on it visible. My socks stuck to the carpet. The microwave had pieces of food in it. The stove burners were rusty. The refrigerator was very clean! The bed looked clean. The toilet looked clean. The only reason I stayed and didnt ask for refund is because I just needed to sleep and I was exhausted after being at the hospital a week and i felt by the way it was kept up i would have had a rough time getting my.money back. So i just stayed to avoid a possible hassle. The way you keep up a place reflects how you treat a customer. I will say the price was great but once inside you can see why. It's hard to believe anyone would give anything over 60$ as this place was disgusting. I am a very fair reviewer, and I was more than fair with this review. I mean, i really expected to see a roach, to be honest. Like I said, I was just exhausted.

The room smells like raid bug spray Even including the bed sheets I had the queen executive suite I think they have bed bugs because I felt like I got bite a few times my skin was itchy The AC was broken. I had to keep the window open because of the strong smell. It wasn’t worth $100 at all. they should be ashamed to even charge that much for such a terrible room and they don’t have any Pots pans anything

First time at this location. Affordable prices. However, the surrounding areas were dirty, like the elevators and hallways. The rooms smelled like smoke. There was not a single cup in the rooms to drink water. In addition, I couldn't find an ice machine to drink water. The only advantage is close to the medical center. The rooms need to be renovated.

I have nothing against the Afghanistan people but this hotel we have stayed at numerous times and loved the place. However since our government started bringing them over since the pullout our government is silently paying places to let them live in the hotels. The problem is my husband has cancer and had to have surgery. You could not sleep cause the Afghan kids were in the hall screaming and yelling and running up and down the hall plus slamming doors. We asked them nicely if they could be quieter cause we were trying to sleep. They got mad and were rude. I called front desk and they were going to send someone up. It stopped for short while then started back up to one in the morning. Then I heard front desk telling a lady they had to put 12 families that had reservations in other hotels cause more Afghans were coming in. They bumped reservations that had been made for new incoming Afghans. That is wrong. We need near the hospital MD Anderson. Most people that make appointments at the hotel is because they have cancer and need a place close to the hospital. The staff however is awesome. I cannot blame them. It’s the owners. We will never stay there again. There was a marine there staying cause his dad is in hospital with heart condition and he was so mad cause if the same issues.

Terrible service the whole time there was no one at the front desk. Our room had a sofabed but there was no sheets. Phone wasn't working, when I finally got the phone to work no one answered front desk. Went to the front asked for sheets and was told the lady was on her lunch break and to come back in two hours. My husband returned in two hours and he was told linen was not clean to return in an hour and a half. We never got sheets that night had to take some off the bed. Pool was in terrible condition all green. I understand it was October but it's hot in Texas pool is still a welcome relief from the heat. Regardless it was an eye sore. Worst hotel experience by far. Only good thing was location to our destinations.I would give zero stars if I could.

The ladies at the front desk were nice but overall this place is ran down and you can tell management puts no effort into. The room had a serious ROACH 🪳 problem. The light constantly went in and out in the bathroom and the shower door wouldn’t close. This is really a last resort type of place. The fridge was gross and dirty. I didn’t feel comfortable nor did I feel comfortable. Sitting in the bed I watch roaches crawl up the wall.

This Hotel to be honest is at very good price not going to lie. The only issues that I experienced is #1 when we entered the hotel it smells like cigarettes #2 it has small roches #3 they only give you one bar soap #4 the lock from on top of the door was loose/broken. They need to Honesty fix these issues. Other than that, it was a good room size. It was clean, offered alot of towels. Kitchen and etc was good.

Pros: - One nice lady working at the desk the night I checked in. Cons: - This hotel is INFESTED with cockroaches. Yes, infested. I have stayed at so many hotels in my life throughout the US and have never seen *multiple cockroaches* running around my hotel room. - Three of the women working the desk the next day were very rude about the situation. - The room smelled like chemicals and the floors were very sticky. - The bed was not clean. - The AC in my room did not work. The fan was running at “60 degrees” but the room was warm and muggy. - WiFi is so slow I couldn’t watch Netflix. - Just the roaches. Absolutely disgusting in a hotel. Please go somewhere else. Home2 Suites down the road has an MD Anderson and extended booking discount that equals out to only $10 more per night than this place. And it’s a brand new hotel. I canceled my month-long reservation at Extended Stay and switched to Home2.

Elevators didn’t work until staff member “reset” them meaning a wait of a few minutes each time you went out or came in if you were on the 2nd or 3rd floor. First key card didn’t work meaning a call to the front desk to reset the elevator to go down to get another one. No plastic cups for water; no coffee pot; no continental breakfast as shown on website, just coffee and tea. Killed a roach in the kitchen area and the bathtub was “peeling” - don’t know if it had been refurbished with some sort of spray on substance but it looked horrible. The only good thing was the bed was comfortable.

I paid over $100 to stay in a room. The room was not clean, linen on the bed was itchy, room smelled. Called front desk, got moved to a room that had no phone, no ironing board. The shower wall was hanging don't know what that was about, room dirty, linen on bed itchy like the previous room, I would say sand fleas from ppl bringing their pets in & allowing them to be on the bed & staff not changing the linen like they are supposed to. There was also this stain on the bathroom floor that looked like dried up blood. I didn't even bother telling the staff because they didn't care. They also had no personality & wasn't very helpful. I wouldn't recommend this place to stay. ☹️

First of all this Extended Stay needs to be reorganized. I'll never stay here ever again and I'll never use Traveluro! Here's why: The elevator didn't work.....ever. Older Cancer patients here, can you imagine getting up and down steps? Ants/Roaches in the room, Rusty stove top, broken phone, Pool was never open, vending machines don't work. They only offered oatmeal, water and coffee for breakfast.....if you were lucky enough to get a cup. I asked the women If you could make another pot and she said NO! People come in off the street and take coffee and leave! For 3 days and nights the people/kids/animal above me wouldn't settle down. They just kept running around the room screaming and hollering from 6:30am to 12:30pm. I called down to the front desk and asked for help......it just kept going on and on and on. I went down to the front desk and asked if they had been up stairs to ask the guests to quite down and she replied NO! " we have a lot of other guests and can't just take care of just you"! Lastly, I just checked in and was sitting in the front lobby minding my own business when a guest walks by me eyeballing me and the fellow next to me. She was stuck in a stare-down. I asked the fellow next to me what is that all about? He didn't know, I thought it was rather strange. Anyway, I put my luggage in my room and made my way to the parking lot, there the same women starts yelling slanderous, racial laced criticism at me. I looked around and didn't see anyone else so I know it was directed at me! I travel all the time and have never-ever seen a hotel like this! And I have never seen a front desk like this one.....awful! Plus Traveluro never answers their phone! Don't stay here!

BEWARE! This hotel is full of ROACHES! I was there for work and had initially reserved a room for 1 week. Every day was a nightmare!! As soon as I would walk in the room it was as if the roaches would greet me at the door. I asked the manager if someone could spray my room and was told no and she looked at me as if I were crazy! Most horrible experience ever !!

Oh, we have stayed here several times out of convenience with the proximity to MD Anderson. Other than that there is nothing good to say about it let’s start off with the absolute worst. I usually sleep on the sofa sleeper and twice I have had horribly blood stained mattresses. I have pictures, we have had the same broken toilet in the same room three times. They never have anything you need sheets towels, blankets breakfast hot water. But oh yes, they do have roaches.

Service was wonderful. We got in very late but the front desk staff were friendly. The room was great, but the biggest concern was the shower door. It was a sliding door but very difficult to open and close. Also felt like it might come off entirely. Apart from that the room was exactly what we needed.

I stayed here because all of the hotels were pretty much sold out for the Beyonce concert. This place has ROACHES y’all. Omg. I placed my bag down and felt something crawling on my arm. Emptied my bag and they were scattering from my bag. I was so grossed out. The hallway is barely walkable (has fitted sheets laying around?) It smells like trash and the elevators do not work properly. We only changed there for the concert and drove 3 hours back home after the concert around 2 am. There was no way we were staying the night there. Someone needs to shut this place down like expeditiously.

The room was adequate, the elevator worked (even though it had a sign on it that said "out of order") the night we arrived and we were put on the 3rd floor with my husband on a cane after knee surgery. The next morning we were checking out and the elevator didn't work which for ed us to walk down 3 flights os stairs! Then the advertised breakfast wasn't available either due to shipping problems. No compensation was offered by the desk clerk because there was "nothing she could do about it". We will never stay at an Extended Stay again!!

  • 2/5 Kathleen J. 7 months ago on Google
Horrible! It is advertised that there is a grab-and-go breakfast every morning from 6:30-9:30. At 6:45 there was no coffee, no cups, no muffins, no desk clerk and it was all dark at the desk. i waited until 7:15 and at least 10 hotel guests came looking for coffee. When the desk clerk arrived at 7 and an elderly man asked about the coffee, she answered curtly, "has to be made." The room itself is not bad. However there are no dishes, utensils, or cookware in the kitchen and everything must be requested at the front desk. When I asked for some on my first night here i was told that they were all out and I had to wait until other guests returned their dishes. The refrigerator is not cold enough but the freezer works fine. There are no hangers in the closet. There is no shuttle to MDAnderson so if you don't have a car you have to walk unless you want to pay for an Uber each time. It's a short distance (0.5 mile) but not pleasant in this hot, hot weather.

WORST experience of my life. I checked in with my husband and 3 small children for my birthday weekend and was disappointed immediately upon checking in. When we got our key cards we were notified the elevator did not work and the pool was also not in service. When we got to our room and put our bags down we checked the bathroom and it was completely unsanitary. It looked as if it had never been cleaned. We spoke with the front desk and was given another room. Upon getting into that room and trying to settle in roaches began coming out from behind the headboards and as we pulled the sheets back there was also roaches on the bed itself. We went back to the front desk and was given one more room. It seemed better than the first 2 so we headed out to get food and to decompress for the day. We still felt uncomfortable so neither I nor my husband slept and we took turns watching our children sleep so no roaches crawled on them. By the time everything got quiet the roaches began to come from every corner they could crawl out of. At our wits end we canceled the rest of our reservation first thing in the morning and checked into a different hotel. It’s been 2 weeks since checkout and my refund which I should’ve gotten still has yet to come back to me. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy or even the homeless. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay, DO NOT stay here. Absolutely disgusting and the place should be demolished.

Checked in Labor Day. Changed room due to roaches, broken windows and a busted ac unit. 2nd room still found a roach. My wife and I discussed it. We agreed to complete our stay. Cause I was going to be in the hospital from Tuesday till Saturday. Friday afternoon my wife calls crying. Our truck was vandalized. Some extremely kinda Houston resident decided to uninstall my catalyst converters off my truck. The manger openly admitted to my wife that where my truck was parked is kinda dark and the camera can’t see that spot. And she tell customers not to park there. This was by the pool. She nor the other staff never said anything to us about that issue. Manger ( Jada) told my wife she felt bad and would comp us some how. Well we haven’t seen anything and probably won’t. The breakfast is a grab and go at best. Oatmeal, mini muffins and granola bars. Drinks are coffee, tea and hot chocolate. So long story short. If you want to get woken up to a roach tea bagging you and your vehicle to get vandalized. This hotel is perfect.

This is possibly the worst hotel ever stayed in. The end hallway door was propped open with a rock because the key card entry was broken so anybody could come in. We were in it room 30 minutes when the front desk person came to our room and wanted up to move to the second floor because they were going to be doing maintenance the next morning. I refused to move so we got ready to go to the pool which was not in working order. Went shared and went to bed. Got up for the free breakfast which consisted of packaged oatmeal, granola bars and muffins. Managed to get one cup of coffee which was terrible. No sweet snd low for diabetics. It was terrible. Do not waste your 100.00 on a room here. I give it a0 out of 10!!!!!!

Location was good as I was there for cancer treatments. Cleanliness left much to be desired. Some rooms were roach infested. Clean towels were hard to get that we resorted to washing the towels yourself. Elevator was broken more days than the days that they were working. One of the worker at the front desk was the rudest we ever dealt with.

I can't give any stars. We checked in on Dec 31 and had to leave that day out of town so we were there like 2 minutes. When we got back the next evening we noticed all the crumbs on top of the fridge and floor. This room had not been vacuumed, walls were filty. When we opened the dishwasher roaches started to come out. We tried to check out that night about 930 and they wouldn't let us but we left anyways. Called the next morning to get some kind credit and get checked out but they were not very nice about it. She really didn't care what happened. There was no manager available. Never will we stay here or with the same hotel chain again.PLEASE READ all reviews

My husband and I have been staying at this extended stay America for over 10 years. It serves our purpose because it is near the medical facility we use. The rooms could use a little freshening up. We have stayed there three times since December 2022. The elevator has been broken every time. It is not easy carrying luggage up 2/3 flights of stairs. The staff is nice and friendly, especially Latanya. She is always courteous and helpful. Hoping they can fix the elevator issue.

I love the location of this hotel as well as a surprise however on my part I might have to redo the bed size because I was traveling to other people and the bed was a little small. The only other thing I kind of had dissatisfaction of was the breakfast because I could have bought some muffins at Kroger's on Old Spanish Trail and Main but again that was on me not the staff. I will definitely be researching where I stay at next time and only thing I love the clerk who checked me in and the one who took me out
