If I could rate this place with negative 5 I would. Please I do not recommend this place to the roaches and rats let alone human beings. I reserved for a week until my apartment was ready. The water is cold and will never get warm or hot just cold. That was on a daily basis. Tuesday someone pulled a gin on a guy, well another guy went and got his pistol. I’m not sure but from the window I saw attempted murder and or aggravated assault.. the key cards don’t work on a daily basis and I had to go to the front desk and get several keys every day. The bathrooms are small and unfinished. The tvs don’t work. All in all this was a waste of money and a scary environment with kids. I went through Expedia and I’m not sure is I could be refunded so I had to stay.

This hotel needs a lot of improvements. The rooms smell like smoke. There are bugs in the rooms. The floors are water damaged. We would wake up to a pile of water near the front door every day we stayed there. Looks like a pretty unsafe area, no cameras what so ever and looks like criminal activity is taking place. There is no room cleaning or service. We booked a room for 3 and there were only two sets of towels. When you ask for more towels they will never have any. The bed covers have holes in them from cigarettes. The hotel has bugs. The trim was peeling off due to the rooms having a moisture problem. It’s really not worth it to stay here. Cheap price but worth paying more for a better experience. Staff is condescending and rude. Will never stay at a red roof inn again.

Your service animals are not allowed in the lobby during check-in or waiting. $50 cash deposits are only when the Olga lady is working, which is really weird to me. The lady at the front desk literally yelled across the lobby for me to "get that dog out here"... I've never been told to separate from my animal. She's weird and hostile and deserves exactly the day she is receiving.

There was knocking on our door when my father was working and noone was there. The manager said our checkout was today and then she said it was tomorrow because she messed up she didn't even say sorry. The hotel is located in the hood too. I do not recommend you stay here no bath mat broken driveway. Broken dumpster gate .

Upon arrival we were greeted with nothing that looks like the pictures. The cords were ripped out of the tv and roaches were crawling on the walls. The pool is disgusting. They should have the long term residents in a section of their own as they are loud and obnoxious all hours of the night. Yes, the tv was "fixed", and when asked for extra bath items as there were 2 of us, we were barely able to get 2 towels, nevermind wash cloths and what not. If it had been myself that had rented the room, I would have gotten a refund immediately and went 5 minutes down the road to Candlewood Suites. But unfortunately, it was my father who got the room and he did not want to be bothered with all of it.

I paid for the room, and went inside and there was dog poop all over the place, and bags of empty beer cans, and the bed was a mess

You get what you pay for- low price but area is shady and dirty. As soon as you strong arm your way through the hard to open door you're hit with the smell of smoke or something else (even though I got a non smoking room)? It's gross.. the floors are warped and dirty, the trim is peeling and covered in dust and who knows what, the bathtub was gross and water did not go down the drain. The water pressure in the shower was non existent. Saw a person across the banister hanging up underwear and other personal items.. not just one or two but a full laundry baskets worth. This place is NOT worth it. :(

This hotel will over charge you and keep your taxes. I stayed here from Feb 2 2023 to may 28 2023. I asked them about Houston’s hotel occupancy tax. They first told me I hadn’t been there long enough. When I showed them all my receipts. Then the told me it was my fault they over charged me and they had already sent my money to the tax office. So unlike most other businesses. They pay their taxes daily instead of quarterly…. I was also told becoming a member of their “ reward program “ made me exempt from getting my tax money back. The taxes they never should have charged me in the first place. Beware they are not honest and will over charge you

Booked online as our regular Hotel was booked. We checked in and promptly were checked in. Our room was in the back near the pool which I always call the Parry section. Loud noise long hours of people staying up. Fortunately, it rained, which forced people indoors. The loud music not ! We called the front desk and complained and when the manager showed up, he continued pounding on the door until I opened . Then he rudely asks what's the problem. I asked him in to listen so not to create bad neighbors revenge even though after his beating the door too late. He listens to the Rap thumping boom , walks out, and slams the door in my face. Do not stay in the pool area and d I nt put your bags on the floor as cockroaches are common in Houston . No TV all night . Claimed it was the storm. Water was hot, and the room was fairly clean.

After a long flight my family try to check in and they told them no that check in was not till 3 pm and they said ok so we hang out here till then and they said no you have to leave the property you can't stay here. Like come on, the stuff was paid for, and also, they said what time they would be there, and everything was fine till they showed up. Besides, I am glad they did not end up staying there because you are the worst, say one thing, and then change it when someone Flys across the states to come here smh. If I could give zero stars I would.

If you love roaches then this is exactly for you.Omg I booked a room last month and was very disappointed. There was so many baby roaches enjoying the stay more than I did. I went to get another room and when I walked in I’m assuming this is the room where the roaches have their meetings to see which roaches go to what rooms. They was having a meeting in the middle of the floor.I went to ask for a refund and he told me I couldn’t get a refund cause it’s been more then a hour.I told him well I didn’t know this was the roach motel and I didn’t sign up for roaches. Its so cheap because they are infested with roaches. When I finally did get a refund it wasn’t even a full refund he told me that they charged me just to refund me my own money.I would only recommend if you like to play with roaches. The couches they have in there are so out dated, missing cushions to the couches, room door wouldn’t even lock.it smell like cigarettes and roaches🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I would like the rest of my money that he stole cause I never heard of anyone charging a refund fee. This place is horrible I rather sleep outside then to sleep there. I recommend you bring your own can of raid(roach spray) cause you will need it

I was visiting Houston for my birthday weekend (me and a friend that flew in) and let me just say I have stayed in some very nice red roof inns but baby not this one .! THIS ONE .!!! 😩. This room or location looks nothing like the pics shown on the hopper app. I should have known something was wrong when they didn’t have an actual front door or front windows . The windows were boarded up from ground to roof and they had a house door as the front door. Walking in it was very dim , walls falling apart . But this room .!.?.! Smelled like cigarettes, the floor is peeling , paint chipping off the walls , the bathroom door wouldn’t close , no toiletries, burn spots was on one blanket and it was some reddish color stains on the second blanket . I already don’t like that it was 2 full size beds but whatever we needed a new room cuz the first hotel we were in didn’t have water (homewood suites by Hilton) . I would have much rather been in the nicer room with no water than be in this room at red roof inn. We actually considered sleeping in the car but we couldn’t find a dark spot with no lights in our face. We didn’t even keep our bags in the room . We stayed out as late as possible and then took blankets from my car and laid on top of our own blankets in the one bed that didn’t have stains because we were scared to touch theirs . Oh let me finish the list of wrong . The faucet in the shower was not attached to the wall, the drain was not working properly . The tub was filling up with water as the shower was running because it has a slow drain. The desk chair looks like it should have been thrown away SEVERAL years ago. The lamp had no lamp shade . The tv was dusty , refrigerator wobbling . Walls paper thin . It was a liquor store on one side of the building with a bunch of guys outside the store drunk and loud . The ONLY reason location gets 3 stars is because everything that we had planned to do was no more than 15 minutes away from the location BUT I definitely checked out of there early and went to the Aloft . I felt like my health was at risk in there and it wasn’t the most safe area. I booked this room through hopper very last minute like as in we was on the way there because of the water situation at the original hotel but it was horrible and a disaster. I didn’t like it at all and I was so distraught I didn’t even get pics of everything . It looks like a place that the street walkers and homeless people stay in for a night or 2 and /or live there .

This hotel is a great value. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping is good. And Ms. Johnnie at the front desk is the best and very accommodating!

My biggest complaint about this place is they lie. At the end of the check in process the clerk say and I need a $50 deposit. He proceeds to tell me that it will be refunded in two days. So after 5 days I follow up because I’ve not seen the refund. The rudest lady answers the phone, pretty sure she was eating or something when she answered. I inquire about the refund and her response is “what?” I asked her if she didn’t hear or if she didn’t understand so that I would know to either speak louder or rephrase me my inquiry. She response is, “what is you want?” So again I ask my question about the refund and she tells me, “oh you ain’t gonna see that for 10-14 business days.” Now we aren’t talking about a large sum of money but it is my money. So I ask her why would I have been told it would be refunded in two days. She says, “I don’t know. You gotta wait up to 14 business days.” Then she proceeded to hang up on me without a goodbye or anything. I guarantee you won’t see me at another Red Roof Inn no matter how tired I am. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very poor customer service and extremely rude. Update: I’ve still not received my refund but I finally spoke to someone who sincerely acted as if she cared, Andrea, I may have that spelled wrong actually took the time to look into my concern and found that there had been an error and the way it stood I would never receive my refund. The money had gone to a third party however this young lady was able to fix this and hopefully I’ll have the refund in the next 5-7 days. Her efforts, concern and understanding have made reconsider the horrible opinion I had developed about Red Roof Inn. Andrea should be recognized and rewarded because prior to today I had said I would never stay at any Red Roof Inn again, I had told everyone that I’ve spoken to in the past few days never to stay and I wrote a pretty tough review of the place. Thank you Andrea for your professionalism(although you should pick up the receiver when speaking on the phone it seems terribly unprofessional to talk over speaker especially with so much background noise) you made a difference and I appreciate you and all you did. Thank you!

The location was kind of sketchy. People walked around late and stray dogs around the property, but rooms were very spacious and clean. Located right off the highway , so highly convenient for travel. Also next to a 24/7 Dennys. Love that they allow pets. Will book again.

I absolutely love the front desk lady Ms. Johnie! She’s really the main reason I love coming back to this place. Overall, the location is very convenient for anyone who isn’t mobile. Pricing is amazing as well.

Loud. Loiterers. Rude front desk. Friendly housekeeping. 1 set of towels in a double bed room. And you cant get more without turning in rhe dirty ones. Had to trade towels after each person showered. It was ridiculous.

Not up to the same standards as other locations I have been to... Air conditioning DID NOT WORK! No phone in room, had to ask for more toilet paper, and even then it was a partial roll, plumbing fixtures in shower wobbled.... corporate will be getting a call later

The front desk staff is extremely kind and makes check in a breeze. I've stayed here multiple times throughout the months requesting the same room and it's always clean everytime I check in. There are quite a few options to eat, drink, and shop that are within walking distance to the hotel if you're not mobile. I havent had a chance to try the pool out bc everytime i check in it so happens to rain everytime, but it is well maintained and clean. I will continue to frequent this establishment. -Jessica Andrews

So we were traveling a long trip. I booked Red roof inn plus + at another location and I accidentally put the wrong red roof inn location in the gps (there is a LOT in Houston) and ended up here. It was 3am and we were already too tired to drive 20 miles back to the other one. So We decided to just stay here even though the lobby had a weird smell, but the front desk attendant was very nice and helpful. We get in the room upon first glance it looks okay. Upon further investigation the room was pretty dirty. Floors were dirty, dead spiders, hair in the bathtub, the door was broken barely latched and a decent sized space between the door and the door frame, any pest could crawl right in. Only thing that kept us safe was the top latch. The mattress cover had blood on it. We moved the mattress a little and saw so much hair maybe dog hair between the wall and bed on the bed skirt. Everything was pretty gross but the bed was comfortable so we did sleep good. We were able to sleep til 10am without outside interruptions. I always do my research on these places and I wouldn’t have chose this place on my own. I was worried about bed bugs but honestly I didn’t see any blood stains on the sheets and we were exhausted from the drive so we went straight to sleep. The bed and pillows were comfy. Sheets were clean, the blanket of course was not so I used my own. Ive been to hundreds of hotels, and I’ve never been to a hotel that bangs on the front door saying to get the heck out of the room at 11:00 on the dot.. it was pretty rude. We obviously know check out is 11 and we needed 10 extra minutes to pack as we woke up late after checking in late.. maybe they should not do that and be polite after I said can I have 10 minutes because I was finishing giving my child a shower. Acting like it’s so serious that they needed in that room at 11:00 on the dot. Pretty sure check in isn’t until 3pm. Also when we entered the parking lot of the hotel and got out to get our stuff we were approached by a man, he kept trying to talk to my husband who was trying to get my baby out the car. Strange man tried to call him over about 5 times my husband finally said what??? He’s like do you smoke cigarettes or anything? He said no. It gave me a weird feeling and I did not feel safe leaving my car down there which was packed full with our belongings. But it was very early and nothing I could do. It’s sketchy area and the other guests we saw outside in the early morning looked very questionable. But we’re thankful for the comfy bed. Morning staff was rude tho. Wouldn’t stay again. Lucky we didn’t get bit by bugs like the previous reviews did.

I have stayed in this hotel for a year and. Half. I attribute that to the wonderful manager/Super woman . She always goes out of the way not only to make sure your needs are met, but that you have a smile on your face. Very well run and a great price.

It’s fairly decent hotel for its location and price.. I can’t complain. However the first room I had did have some serious bug problem due to cracks in the door.. The second home is a whole lot better…. I just wish they provide more lighting though.. kinda on the Dark side…. Clean and the beds are comfy…

I've went to Red Roof before in other locations but this one wasn't the best. Mainly because I saw small bugs and roaches crawling out. Alot of water leaked out of the shower onto the floor, and we kept hearing so much noises from people at night whether they're walking by, or staying the night it didn't feel comfortable hearing the yells, cars being broke into and people playing unnecessary loud music at 3 in the morning. Plus the hotel was close to the highway, so I wasn't at surprised about the noises whe. People drove by. Wouldn't recommend it.

Accommodations for me and my doggo where beyond my expectations, did catch a hoodrat cutting into my catalytic converter, but scared em off easily so don’t park in the back. Not the establishment fault but it’s an issue there and at the Denny’s FYI.

Peaceful stay to handle business. Nice price with a pool and right off the 1-10 interstate. Thank yall. Thanks to the tenants that kept it peaceful.

The stay was good. Had no issues with front desk either for check in or check out. Did have a small issue as I lost a meaningful item in the room and has not been returned to the lost and found by no one, I understand it wasn’t their fault, but if found I would like to be notified as it was a blanket that was gifted to us by someone whom no longer is with us and is special to my daughter. I reached the hotel via phone but nothing yet. The stay was from 8/26-8/28. Again, no issues with the hotel, but would appreciate if reached back advising if found.

Terrible room...you could physically see ramen and hair that clogged the bathroom sink. Our bedsheets had lots of cigar burn holes and the curtain as well which then made me question why were the sheets inside out.. The shower was clogged too. When unfolding the towel to be used blonde hair fell out of it..I have black. Outside we noticed some suspicious acts going on too. And if you get a non smoking room expect it to have a stench smell of smoke. Had no sleep due to how uncomfortable I felt. Worst experience starting from the parking lot. But all in all you get what you pay for right?

  • 1/5 Sarah K. 2 years ago on Google
THE PHOTOS ARE OLD! I was drawn in by a good place to park and modern updates. However, my room, 116 smelled smoky when I initially walked in, the floor had major water damage, and I found a bedbug or something similar dying from a chemical bug killer. I couldn't stay there but instead went back to the desk to request a refund. I'll also add there aren't any security cameras to be seen so the parking is very insecure.
