Imagine cultivating the most driven, caring, and business-minded staff working for you, and you manage to mess that up. What a waste. Outstanding staff that goes above and beyond for you and always makes you feel at home, too bad the owners won’t pay their employees a liveable wage. At least promote them to have the MARKET wage. It’s unfortunate to see so much potential for a business that thinks they can operate with out the very staff that has been carrying it for all of this time. Good luck finding a new crew who will put even half the effort and care into your business that your previous staff did. The coffee is good. The location is perfect. The owners lack business sense and have now managed to lose quality staff. Good Luck.

Was a great place for good coffee on campus. However they refused to pay their staff a fair market wage and let a five star staff go. Don't cross the picket line. Avoid unless they go back on their choice.

Went during the day and it was 90% full. According to a cashier, the hours of 10 am-5 pm during the week is the busiest, evenings are less busy and the weekends are empty. They are open till 12 am daily. Ordered the iced latte with caramel. I give it a 4/5. Most of their pastries were sold out. Upstairs is their restaurant and bar. Plenty of power outlets. They sell board games and offer a variety of board games to play. Wifi seems to be a good speed via mobile phone. There is also some outdoor seating. Overall, it seems like a cool place to chill, study, or hang out.

Amazing place to study and get work done without slacking since you're surrounded by seemingly productive people. Plenty of outlets and a great collection of books. Their Rattlesnake latte is the best out there with an extremely rich texture and perfect balance of espresso. They have great Matcha too!

Stopped in for some coffee and a treat this morning. Wonderful place. They have a huge coffee menu, they have adult beverages. This place stays open till midnight. There is a fantastic outdoor seating area, for those not to hot days. And best of all there is a huge selection of board games and enough plugs to satisfy the techies. The staff was super friendly. I will be visiting this place often. Thank you.

It’s a nice enough hangout. One can indeed have individual privacy in one of the nooks carved out of the interior, or have a small meeting of friends. The staff is nice. The music is often good. The coffee beverages are fine. Bathrooms are clean. The baked goods need some serious improvements. They’ve got the worst, most incorrectly made *croissant I’ve ever experienced anywhere. Other baked items I’ve had were underwhelming. *Sad croissant shown in image

Nook Cafe is the perfect study haven for University of Houston students. With its study-friendly atmosphere, peaceful ambiance, ample seating, and delicious offerings, it has become my preferred spot for focused work. If you're seeking a productive and comfortable space to study, look no further than Nook Cafe.

This fun cafe is an interesting spot for morning coffee and pastries on campus. They offer chalkboard walls and board games for the customers as well as a place for local artists to display their artwork or photographs. Recently, The Nook Cafe's menu expanded to include beer and wine. You can also buy UH's signature Cougar blend of coffee beans made by Katz's Coffee here. A large outdoor patio and study spaces inside make Nook Cafe a nice place to spend a few hours studying on campus.

Great campus café providing fast internet, creatively tasty frappes, and plenty of nooks to choose from to suit your lounging, studying , or socializing needs. IMO, the music playing in the background can be a bit loud and distracting at times, but it’s a diverse playlist. Staff is friendly. Prices are standard for coffee, but the sweets are expensive. All things considered, The Nook Café is one of the best coffee shops in town.

We ordered coffee and pastry. Pastries were good . Coffee with oat milk definitely not good. Well we always try drinks with oat milk but I guess that day it was bad? Not sure though. Evenings also it was busy . Hard to find a table . Looks cozy and busy . Probably we will Have to try drinks with regular milk next time. There is seating upstairs too but we found seating below and didn’t go up .Parking is a paid one so will have to make sure not to get towed.

Came through there on a random Tuesday afternoon and was able to take advantage of the happy hour menu and ended up with the Kimchi fries (🍟) and a mango green tea (🍵) and was happy I pulled up! It reminds me of my college days (UTA 🤙🏾) with students studying and just kicking it in the very diner-esque cafe. The energy is light, the wifi is good, and the service is on point. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Good collection of board games. Newly opened terrace section is awesome - great atmosphere with gazebo and more games. Last but not least, strong Wi-Fi connection. 😁

Cool place and all, like coming here to study and grab a coffee however one of the workers is super loud when everyone in there is trying to study. I feel like he tries to be so loud on purpose. Few people complained but nothing has worked. And no headphones don’t work I still hear the employees screaming in laughter. EMPLOYEES SHOULD BE MORE CONSIDERATE AND STOP SHOUTING!!!!

Went by 3 days ago. The hot chocolate was delicious. Nice cozy place to hangout, have your drink and even study. This place is right by the university of Houston. Parking is very limited.

Review for the bar: Fried pickles with chipotle ranch were awesome, pretty spicy zing to them. Crispy and well seasoned. Their house drinks are only ok. They are pretty expensive for mid quality drinks. Service is generally always good. Can be a pretty quiet place. The only complaint I had was I was sat at the bar and some water from their AC was dripping onto me.

Everything about this cafe screams personality and character. The logo is super stylish, the atmosphere is simply splendid, and the coffee is top notch. There is just so much you can do there with board games provided, outlets everywhere, and great seating. The recent expansion on the second floor provides more food and expands alcoholic options. The Nook is a borderline perfect cafe and a must go for anyone living near UH or visiting the area.

Wonderful atmosphere. The atmosphere is very cozy and casual, and the staff is kind and attentive. They stock all of your favorite milks and syrups. The best breakfast I've had ever served there. I will definitely visit The Nook Cafe more frequently.

I like the atmosphere here and the fact that it's open until 2am. I got an Iced Americano and didn't really like the taste because of how acidic it tasted. Either than that the staff was friendly and it's a great place to study and chill. Thank you.

I love this place. They are super inclusive and everyone is always so kind! I went to UH so this was my comfort spot to visit, I'm so glad that they're still open and going strong. Update: got the hot latte with mocha today 5/5, was absolutely delish!

Went last night (Monday night), for my birthday and the drag show, and I ABSOLUTLY loved it!!!! Sadly we're not from Houston but it's a MUST visit. All I know is that if we WERE from Houston we would be here ALL.THE.TIME. The drinks, the bartenders, the music was all 10/10❤️❤️❤️

Cool little coffee bar. Didn’t partake in the food, just stopped in for coffee and a business meeting. Double shot expresso hit the spot. Very young crowd and staff which makes sense given the proximity to UH. Parking is rough to say the least. Very limited and definitely brutal being many “driver’s” are challenge with parking properly.

The Americano and Capuccino aren't great. The coffee in general is less than mediocre and watery. However, the interior is beautiful! It's a wonderful place to study. 😅 If you're looking for good coffee, this place isn't for you. But if you're looking for a place to study with music in the background, it's awesome!

The atmosphere is great! friendly staff and nice views (great for studying during the day). However some of the food isn’t good. My chicken had absolutely no seasoning and I couldn’t finish my sandwich if there was a gun to my head

  • 1/5 Douglas C. 5 months ago on Google
Waited over an hour for 3 chicken tenders. I was told 40 minutes into waiting that the kitchen was short staffed (something that for sure should have been relayed to me before I ordered). While I understand that there is a shortage of people who want to work service, maybe the Nook should close the kitchen instead of having to refund most of the orders they take

Pretty nice atmosphere and lots of students come to study. Had their chicken and spinach quiche and it tasted great although a bit pricey. Coffee is good but their workers talk loudly regardless of the people studying. One of the few places on campus that stay open late thankfully

Been coming here for years! The employees are fun and sweet and know how to make a good coffee. Also, their rewards system is awesome, it seems like every other time I come in I’ve racked up enough points to get something free!

I really wanted to love The Nook. The atmosphere is so wonderful, from the black board walls, the ceramic mugs, to the cool art. Unfortunately, this can not make up for the bad coffee, pastries, and the way they treat their employees. The coffee looks very good, but my lattes have been consistently mid to bad. My roommate bought a Danish here as well, and unfortunately it was very flavorless. I do not like to write poor reviews, but after I found out how they have treated their employees in the past I really cannot go back. I wish management could pay their employees better, allowing for customers to have better baristas and a happier conscience.
