What a lovely spot! The friends and I decided to end our night here for a few cocktails and conversation. The scene is comfortable and inviting. The music is spot on. The drinks are delicious. I had the Irish Coffee Martini and the K.I.S.S. Cocktail. Both are a true vibe. I highly suggest visiting. I've got plans to return in the day time to enjoy the patio and Houston views

The Ambiance is so cool! There's an outdoor sitting area as well as air conditioned indoor area. AMAZING STAFF! A must see! Check them out!

Vibe- This is a very cool coffee shop that sells coffee and cocktails as well! When you first walk in there’s a room with chairs/tables and a big TV. The bar area is located next to this room and there’s 4 high tables, 1 table, and the bar area that seats about 12. There’s green plants all around the bar and there’s a tiki them! Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I ordered a hot latte with vanilla and oatmilk, it was good! Parking- I parked on the street, that’s where most people probably park unless they walk over.

As I was sitting there in the bar looking around at all the different ages and races of people, the light rail cruising by, friendly police officers walking the street all in this urban setting, it felt like being on an episode of Sesame Street to me as a kid, I mean that in the greatest way possible. People were coming and going, some hanging out, some wearing Astros jerseys, some wearing Redsox jerseys. Some dressed up some dressed down. But all sitting there having their drinks in harmony, I expected Big Bird to walk in at any moment. Then my wife looked up and in the rafters is an Elmo doll. So if you haven't been to Double Trouble take trip. There are some fantastic drinks as well.

Do not waste your time. The establishment is over-priced and undervisited. I was literally the only customer in there at 1pm on a Thursday and staff rushed me to order and told me that I was taking up space on their patio, although it was absolutely empty. Literally pushed me away though I had every intention of ordering. I will never visit again, and by the looks of things- neither will others.

This place offers COFFEE & ALCOHOL & sometimes in the same drink! Try their mixed bourbon or Kahlua & coffee drinks. Very budget friendly & they have HAPPY HOUR everyday! Awesome outdoor seating too!

Cozy atmosphere, 3 or 4 indoor electrical outlets and WiFi. The outside patio has fans and is in the shade. Low volume music playing in the background, good for conversations. Drinks are made well and the bar tenders seem down to earth and give good vibes.

It had been several years since I visited this place when I was living in Midtown and was happy to see that not only is it still open but has been renovated as well. I always enjoyed it in the past, but it did have a bit of a divey, "distressed" feel to it previously, which could be charming but sometimes felt a bit dingy. With the new construction, it now has a cleaner, lighter feel to it, while still maintaining the tropical, somewhat Bohemian vibe it had before. Unlike many coffee shops that offer limited selections of beer and wine, Double Trouble (DT) is both a coffee shop and a full service bar, offering all kinds of liquor and cocktails. They have all your standard coffee options, with beans sourced from local roaster Greenway Coffee, There is also an extensive cocktail list, both of old classics as well as ones unique to DT, complemented by a selection of beer and wine. Additionally, at the intersection of the coffee shop and bar is a menu of espresso martinis and other coffee-infused cocktails that give you the best of both worlds. I started off with drip coffee while reading and later moved on to an Irish coffee martini (Irish whiskey, Irish cream, fresh double espresso, and nutmeg) once I was joined by a friend. Neither drink disappointed. The coffee was bold with an excellent flavor, and the Irish coffee martini was smooth and creamy. The two critiques I have of DT are the parking and speed of service. The place is located right next to the light rail, and as such, there is only street parking available on side streets, which can often be hard to find in Midtown. As far as service, there were two bartenders working when I visited, but neither seemed to have much of a sense of urgency or at least skill in quickly preparing cocktails. I waited about 7 minutes after ordering for the bartender to finish the cocktail before me and then complete mine, and I watched others experience similar delays. Such criticisms, however, are not enough to prevent me from returning or to cause me to not recommend the place to others, especially considering its uniqueness as a bar/coffee shop concept.

Always great place to go before plays. They really care about their cocktail menu and it's always nice to have espresso drinks as an option at a bar.

Love this spot! For someone who doesn’t really drink, it’s got a great cocktail bar vibe. Has alcohol but also great coffees.

Looking for some Coffee & liquor? This is your spot! Loved the atmosphere of this place with all the plants & little trinkets around the place. Staff made a good cocktail though weren't too friendly but that's okay!

I just loved the feel of this place. It’s hard to describe. Homey would be the closest description. They had me at cheap beer on a hot day and my wife’s cocktail, (Trashy Chai) was great and made quick for a cocktail. My friend had a cold brew and enjoyed it. All in all I left wishing I lived in the area.

Beautiful bar with lots of covered patio seating. Very friendly staff always willing to make thoughtful recommendations. I'd have to guess this is the most extensive offering of espresso martinis nearby, but the standard coffee drinks are also top-notch and there are plenty of cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic cocktails to choose from. There is no draft system, so don't expect the typical beers you find on tap around town. There are chips for sale, but if you want something more substantial you can bring in a bite from the many restaurants within walking distance - maybe bring extra for a new friend!

I’ve been a regular here for just over six years. Not once have I been disappointed—whether I am here for caffeine or cocktails or long enough for one to bleed into the other. I am always warmly received. The atmosphere is friendly, fun, casual, welcoming, and playful . The super friendly staff goes above and beyond every single time. In addition, Double Trouble is visually lovely. A remodel last year resulted in a charming inviting space (the old dive bar vibe before was good too). The drink menu is super cute and offers lots of no-trouble (nonalcoholic) beverages as well as fancy drinks and all the classics. I’m a fan of The Smokin’ Pistol and the Caribbean Cream (to booze up the CC add coconut rum). Everything is natural—fresh squeezed juices! The pup friendly patio has a ton of seating. And there’s always lots going on all around the block.

Super cool spot. And the vanilla latte wasn’t overwhelmingly vanilla. Just right good sweetness as well.

I ordered the coffee cocktail, which was too milky, too hot and sweet. I felt like I was drinking a badly made hot coffee milk rather than a well made coffee cocktail. The place is small and cozy, during early early evening the place was buzzing. The vibes of a social bar were definitely there helped by the way the cafe cum bar is designed.

AVOID‼️ Midtown local and wanted to check out the vibe. Staff here is extremely rude and unprofessional. It’s a Wednesday afternoon literally no one in there and was pushing me to order a drink. Obviously it’s bar and I will order a drink. When I asked her name she walked away. Would give 0 stars if possible, do NOT waste your time coming here.

Went there for a drink because we were eating near by, hard to find parking in the area. It's a pretty small cocktail bar but cozy, with good drinks and an alternative crowd.

Great cocktails + WIFI to work on a laptop I started off with a caffine cocktail which was fine but the the the two iced drinks they have mixing in the machine which they topped off with a tobasco like sauce for the gin-based first one and some salt for the margarite like second one were 10/10. Love this place.
