Long
John
Silver's
has
fallen
so
far
in
recent
years.
I've
always
liked
their
food,
but
they've
closed
so
many
locations
in
the
Houston
area.
There's
only
one
location
inside
the
Beltway;
all
the
others
are
in
the
suburbs
including
this
one.
I
made
the
crosstown
trek
to
this
one
over
in
eastern
Harris
County,
and
it
is
a
"Long
John
Silver
Express"
location,
meaning
they
have
a
subset
of
the
full
LJS
menu.
That
didn't
bother
me,
because
I
usually
get
the
chicken
and
shrimp
combos
anyway,
but
it
may
disappoint
true
LJS
fans.
I
had
two
issues
with
my
visit,
both
relatively
minor
in
the
grand
scheme
of
things.
The
first
was
that
the
food
was
slightly
overcooked,
making
it
a
little
bit
harder
to
bite
into.
The
second
was
that
a
rather
ghetto
panhandler
tried
to
hit
me
up
for
money
as
I
left,
and
when
I
waved
him
off,
got
a
brief
torrent
of
street-level
epithets
in
return.
So
if
you
visit
this
location,
watch
out
for
folks
like
that.
Otherwise,
this
location
is
decent.
It's
a
little
better
than
the
North
Freeway
location
I
visited
the
prior
weekend.
The
seating
area
was
clean,
the
tables
had
been
wiped
down,
and
the
server
at
the
counter
was
nice.
Long
John
Silver's
has
good
food.
Their
corporate
management
just
needs
to
be
a
little
more
dedicated
at
committing
to
the
Houston
market.
