I normally don't write negative hotel reviews because I understand that sometimes things get missed, staffing may be short, and I feel that people tend to be too harsh and have exceptionally high expectations. I am a Hilton Diamond member. I stay in a lot of hotels. When I take the time to write a negative review, I want to convey concerns I have to others who may be looking to stay at a particular location. This is a long review, because many things went wrong. Upon check-in, staff were friendly, recognized my diamond status. The hotel seemed newly remodeled and decor was nice so I was happy to to get to my room and relax for the night. I've stayed here before, as the location is convenient for early AM flights, and I know the plane noise is significant especially on higher floors, but I also know that it usually stops around 10pm, so it's not a big deal for me. Room 1) I was relaxing in my room for a while after work getting ready to go to bed when I entered the bathroom for the first time and started to brush my teeth. I turned the faucet on, and brown water came sputtering out very loudly, after a few seconds it returned to normal. While I was brushing my teeth with now clear water, I looked at the floor randomly and noticed a few ants. This is Houston, its hot, humid, and bugs love to exist here, and so I was prepared to deal with it. Upon closer inspection, I saw many more ants in several places, other unidentifiable smaller bugs (not bed bugs thankfully), and other dirt and hair all over the entryway floor and bathroom floor as well. The hotel staff apologized, and offered me an upgraded room which I appreciated. I gathered my things, they brought me a new key, and I moved to the new room. Room 2) They turned the AC on for me before I got there, but it was not yet cool as the high temp was 104F that day. I tried the sink, it also sputtered water, but it was clear this time. The bathroom smelled a bit like sewer gas, but decided to deal with it as the bedroom smelled OK. I gave the AC a few minutes as it was churning away, but when I checked on it, the fan was not blowing, only the compressor was running. I tried to change settings, but nothing worked, so I realized the fan must be broken. I went down to the front desk and they insisted they checked the AC before I went in and said it was working, but again...it was just the compressor. They offered me another room. Room 3) The third room seemed fine upon entry. There was some hair on the bathroom floor, maybe elsewhere (carpets are dark, so it's difficult to see dirt and hair). I've been in rooms with much worse hair situations, and since I was desperately tired at this point, I decided to go straight to bed. From here, I should note that I always inspect the bed for dirt, hair and bugs after several issues I've had at other hotels years ago. Upon my inspection I found 3 of the same unidentifiable small bugs crawling in the bed. I smashed the bugs and swept them onto the floor. I completed a very thorough inspection of the bed and didn't find any more bugs, but I did find a few hairs. The front desk called to make sure everything was OK, and I told them about the bugs in the bed. They apologized. It took me a while to get to sleep despite how tired I was, because once you find bugs somewhere you start to feel itchy, even if they are gone. The next morning I showered, and the hot water took over 5 minutes to arrive, I timed it after the first 30 seconds or so with no hot water. The water seemed oily and smelled a bit weird. About an hour later that morning, my feet started tingling/burning. I'm not sure if there were weird chemicals used on the floor or something in the water. They seem to be fine now after a day or so. My company pays for my lodging, so I didn't ask for any kind of compensation, but I should note there was no offer for any kind of monetary reimbursement or points credit. This hotel has some serious cleanliness issues. This is not a one-off situation, as all 3 rooms had similar problems. I will not be staying here again.

Just got back from a weekend here (3 nights) and my checking account has been changed 3x now for the same reservation and still no refund has been credited to my account (called my bank and they said the hold was not on their end it was on the hotels end). I talked to two different people while at the hotel expressing my concerns over the multiple charges and I was reassured they were just pending and would be refunded. This morning I checked my account and now there's another charge from the hotel (for an entire additional night) completely out of the blue. Please train your front desk staff better on how to properly process payments as I'm now facing overdraft fees due to the staffs lack of experience with basic payment processing. Other than the nightmare with multiple charges, the room was very clean, well equipped and recently updated in modern finishes. The location was ideal however the walls are thin so bring ear plugs otherwise the planes landing at the airport make it hard to sleep. Staff was friendly (although no help with the payment issues), airport shuttle was a nice added benefit.

I’ve stayed here a number of times over the last few years. However, I will not stay here again. Unbelievably noisy, worn out beds, peeling paint and a lamp without any lampshade. Typically hotels near the airport have good soundproofing, not here. Every plane that took off we heard We had a missing lampshade by the bed and another one on the desk was broken. We found the beds well worn out. And paint peeling off the ceiling and walls. We arrived and found 5 people in line with 1 person checking people in and answering the phone. Unfortunately my digital key was not working so we had to wait 20 minutes for key card. The shuttle was fine with 1/2 hourly departure. And the breakfast was better than most Hampton Inns I’ve stayed at.

I had asked the person that checked me in to use the credit card on file so the my company card would be charged instead of my personal card that he asked to use for incidentals. I even called and asked if this could be done before I arrived. As he was checking me in he on the phone and not paying attention to what I was explaining to him. When I saw the charges on my personal card instead of my company card I went to the front desk and asked him and two other ladies that were listening to our conversation why did he charge my personal card instead of my company card, he said that I never instructed him to do so. If he wasn't on his phone and distracted he would heard what I had asked him to do. Instead he said that they just updated a new system and we are still learning how to us it. Its so unprofessional to be on the phone, distracted and then say that they don't know how to us there own computer program. So I just told them that I would not be staying and to just check me out.

One of the best hotels near the airport. We booked a room for one night and it cost us around $110. The hotel was neat and clean and even the room. The location is great it had few restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also has beers which were great ( no bar ) Morning breakfast was good and it has shuttle service too for the airport. Overall a great experience and would recommend it to every traveler.

WOW! just wow! Best price and location. I'm blown away! From the low price, and some iffy reviews, I was hesitant to book. I'm so glad I did! Clean, spacious room. Bed is extremely comfortable. Basic but very clean and pretty/modern looking hotel, no restaurant, no bar, - no problem, I don't need either. Free breakfast. Shuttle driver and front desk were very friendly and welcoming.

My recent stay at the Hampton hotel left me with mixed feelings, as there were both positive and negative aspects to my experience. While the room had a modern design and the staff provided exceptional service, there were several shortcomings that detracted from the overall satisfaction. Let's start with the positives. The room I stayed in had a modern aesthetic, which was visually appealing and created a pleasant ambiance. The staff members were undoubtedly the highlight of my stay - they were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure my needs were met. Their professionalism and exceptional service deserve high praise. However, there were a few disappointments during my stay. First and foremost, the elevator was a source of annoyance due to the creaking noises it emitted. This detracted from the overall comfort and tranquility of the hotel environment. Additionally, the absence of a microwave in the room came as an unwelcome surprise. It would have been convenient to have one available, especially when I wanted to heat up leftovers like my pizza. The breakfast offered at the hotel was mediocre, to say the least. While it is expected that hotel breakfast options may not be extravagant, the quality and variety of choices were underwhelming. On a positive note, the air conditioning in the room worked exceptionally well and provided a pleasantly cool environment. This was a welcome surprise, as I have encountered issues with air conditioning at other hotels. One last issue I encountered was a leaking shower that resulted in water spilling onto the bathroom floor. This was an inconvenience that required extra attention and cleaning during my stay. In conclusion, my stay at the Hampton hotel merits a three-star rating. While the modern room design and exceptional staff were positive aspects, the issues with the creaking elevator, lack of a microwave, mediocre breakfast, and leaking shower, were disappointing.

Couldn’t ask for a better night’s stay. Shuttle service from the airport stops at 11:00 and I was freaking out because our flight was delayed and didn’t land til 10:45. I called right away (spoke with Monica at the front desk who was SO accommodating!) and they made an extra run for us…I was so relieved. The driver was just lovely, told us about the hotel, breakfast, morning shuttle, etc. She also told us she’d made orange infused water and it was in the lobby for the guests and it was just a kind gesture. I’m sorry for not remembering her name, it had been a very long day. Monica was warm and sweet when we got there, I wanted to hug her after the day we’d had but I figured she’d think I was nuts. 🤣 I don’t know how old that hotel is but it was very well kept, lobby was beautiful. Clean, air worked well, snacks, a few frozen entrees and ramen with a microwave in the kitchen. Drinks also available (including beer/wine) and toiletries again for purchase in the lobby. Breakfast was good and the price was very reasonable, especially for the service we got…tip your shuttle drivers because they are saving you a ton! I stayed at the same chain in Florida before a cruise and they were great there, too. They have my loyalty and after you stay, they’ll have yours too!

The staff at Hampton Inn 15831 John F Kennedy Blvd were amazing. I had problems with my flight and baggage plus needed to get to the UPS store before catching another flight. Erin is knowledgeable and very helpful. Everyone was great and helped with changing/updating reservations for what I needed. Thanks for the superb service guys!

Great, in transit hotel. The gym looks brand new along with the main lobby and rooms. I am very glad that they have name brand condiments for the free coffee. Service is beyond stellar, from the front desk to the shuttle driver. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly during our stay.

The typical rooms of an Hampton Inn. Clean and comfy. The lady at the counter was very friendly. The breakfast was ok. A good place to sleep before you take a flight from IAH or at an stopover. The hotel offers a shuttle service But: Take care of your car. Someones rims (all four) have been stolen over night

Very convenient and close to the airport. Staff (housekeeping and front desk) very personable. I like that breakfast was available and coffee fresh. Regarding reply below; not sure regarding your content as service was excellent from your staff as expressed. I have no complaints.

I just called there to ask some questions to reserve a room and information about the shuttle and the guy on the phone was extremely rude. That kinda surprised me because I always try to stay at hilton. I called Marriott after that and the customer service was great. I will stay at Marriott then

The hotel NEVER picked up the phone when calling to arrange a shuttle from the airport. Hilton corporate could also not reach the hotel staff. Even when calling from the hotel room to the front desk, they NEVER answered the phone. I asked Hilton corporate to reimburse me for a taxi and they rejected. I won't be staying here again... It's not the level of quality or service I come to expect from a Hilton brand hotel.

The room looked good/updated but there was a weird smell coming from the a/c I think. It wasn't really worth changing rooms at first, then I was wishing I had... but I'll just avoid this hotel in the future. I think it was room 404 in case management wants to do something about it. Breakfast was good.

I would have given this hotel a better review HOWEVER the front desk staff (Lynell and others) are really incompetent. When I checked out, the woman could not check me out. She claimed it was a computer glitch. I knew this was going to be a problem for me. And it is. I had three pending charges on my card with I got home. Room charge which was 5.00 more than quoted but I let that go. Then a 51.02 incidental charge which made no sense. Of course I used no incidentals. Then ANOTHER 50.00 incidental charge. When I called I was assured by Lynell that the incidental would drop off. I kept explaining there were TWO incidental charges. She didn't acknowledge that. She then transferred me to the "general manager" who has a mysterious voicemail with no name on it. Yeah! I called and asked Lynell for the name and she stated it and transferred me back again. The "general manager" said Lynell was the manager. She could not help me either. Then I called corporate and got the same exact conversation. Oh, it will drop off. It had already been CHARGED, NOT PENDING ANYMORE, on my card! I told her this has to be REFUNDED. She didn't get it either. I was told that I could not get any points for compensation for all of the aggravation and I have to wait 7 days before they will even look at this. I offered to send the picture of my credit card charges but they were not interested. This is really upsetting. SO surprised at Hilton. I think I will find a new hotel chain to be loyal to. I travel alot

I had a really weird stay. At first I was in room 404, which is mentioned in another review as having a weird smell. It did, I almost thought it smelled like urine. I moved to another room, which was clean and didn't have a smell. However, the Wi-Fi and TV was off in the hotel all night. Would I stay here again? Probably. Was it the best hotel experience? No. I did want to call out Arin at the front desk. He was super friendly and very helpful.

We had lots of problems with their system being down. Check-in only using the app. The poor front desk guy going nuts trying to help people all by himself. Hilton management should be ashamed of themselves. It's a total desrespect with guests and their own employees. Wouldn't stay again.

I had a lay over from a trip to NOLA. I made reservation thru Hiton Honors app, Location is convinient close to airport and also several fast food restaurants, stay away from Shell station convinient store, way to expensive. If you need to run, you can cross the JFK and behind hotels there is a nice route without traffic. Room was clean, ac worked fine, comforable bed and also use the airport free shiuttle. Only stayed for one night. Service was fast and courteous. After certain hous of night, you dont hear the planes taking off, I was able to sleep without interruptions.

This is a nice hotel. The lobby and rooms have been remodeled and are in good condition. The location is really close to the airport, about a 7 minute drive. They also have shuttle service, but I didn't use that. The breakfast food was okay. It has the basics. I didn't really interact with the staff, so I can't really comment on that. They have side entrances, which are convenient. The fitness room is also great. The equipment looks good, not old, and the overall room was very neat. I would definitely stay here again. Just note that since it's close to the airport, you will be hearing planes throughout the day. For some reason, they gave us an accessible room. We didnt need ot, but i was nice. The shower was a standing shower. The room provided toiletries, but there were also large bottles attached to the shower wall that you can also utilize. The rooms have a fridge, but no microwave. One complaint that I do have is that the room felt a little bit humid. The only way to counter that is to have the aircon blasting really cold air, but then you get really cold. A good price for a hotel in this location and with good facilities.

We really enjoyed our stay, but be ready for lots of jet noise. I love jets so they didn’t bother me too bad. A 777 headed to Taiwan at around 1:40 am, about jarred me out of bed but otherwise we were very pleased. The staff was very accommodating.

Wonderful location near airport. Hotel offered shuttle service which we were so grateful for. The room was nice and large. The linens were soft. The mattress was a lil used but we were too exhausted to care. The only issue we had was no luggage carts. We had 8 pieces of large luggage and both of us have bad backs and no help so that was crazy.

Stayed here one night last week. Week of Christmas. We chose this particular location because we had an early flight the next morning. They stay was great and employees were very friendly and helpful. Shuttle was on time and we got to the airport with no problem at 4:30am! We also did the park and fly with no issues. We will return here again when flying out of Bush!

The overnight person called to verify that I was still coming, as my flight arrived before midnight but had baggage claims problems. At checkin I received a couple bottles of water, and I was glad something finally went right in my travels. The hot breakfast looked good, but I had to fly out again early the next day. The place was nice and clean, and the staff was pleasant.

The owner and front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel accommodations were great. The room was very clean and spacious. The kids enjoyed the pool. The location was great and close to Jack-N-The-Box and Taco Bell (walking distance). Was a very enjoyable experience.

Very convenient location, staff are super friendly and helpful. I had an very early flight in the morning and forgot my belongings in the room. The hotel team was able to find them and send to the airport. I am very grateful of their professionalism

Very large rooms, clean and comfortable - good price! Shuttle - easy to reserve a specific time and fast service. Breakfast included - much appreciated! Easy to leave your luggages at hotel after you check out.

I would like to give Mr. Terry , Mrs. Caroline , & Ms. Apple a huge shoutout for outstanding services. I can’t even start where to begin. My flight arrived early and I have no room at any hotels. I called Hampton inn that was the closest to the airport and Apple‘s voice was very friendly and when I asked if I could check in now she said yes that they had a room available and that the shuttle can come and get me. Terry the driver came very quickly and we had a good conversation to the hotel. Apple Made my reservation very quickly and check me in. The price was fair specially for an early arrival. She offered me breakfast and Make sure that if I needed anything else to let her know.Miss Caroline helped Me with the waffle maker and showing me the breakfast area. The breakfast area was delicious. They had every pastry that you can imagine, they had eggs, potatoes, juice bar, coffee bar, and so much more. I had a nice rest of this hotel. Overall a very very good experience. I highly recommend.

Great service, the tall man with dreads at the front (I think his name was Erin) was the nicest guy ever. The rooms were clean, staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Our vehicle got broken into not once but TWICE while staying at this hotel. Once was when we left it a few days while traveling, so we stayed the night since we couldn’t get the window replaced till late, then again over ONE night. Do not leave ANYTHING in your vehicle and I hope you have good insurance. They did nab some stuff too. (Front window while we were gone, back window over one night.)

Hotel was a little bit pricey but it was worth it. It was convenient as they had a shadow, breakfast, and closer to airport. The workers were very friendly. I believe the gentleman with the long hair was name was Erin but I believe it was with an E not an a Was very well dressed and also welcoming. The only thing I wish is that the hotel had food for dinner. But they did give me a list of restaurants walking dishes as well as by cuisine type. This is a very different Hampton because the rooms were even bigger than I remember from the other Hampton I stay that it was clean and comfortable.
