From my personal experience, if I go to a coffee shop and being charged $5 for latte, they usually would fill up with milk if asked for light ice. I’m disappointed with today’s service… I really like their beans so I purchased coffee beans from Cleo before but this is my first time buying coffee from Cavo, probably my last time..

Ordered a caramel mocha and nutella cookie for about $9.00. Overall coffee was sweet and creamy. Cookie was okay. It was a bit drier and crumbier than I would have liked (as opposed to soft and gooey) but thats more of personal preference. Parking was not too bad as I was able to get a spot on the side, but there is also some parking across the street. The overall interior is clean and great environment for studying with adequate wifi and plenty of tables!

this was my first time here. I ordered a flat white with one of their seasonal syrups along with their avo-cavo toast and everything came out pretty fast considering that it was fairly busy today. both the flat white and toast were amazing and the staff are very sweet and accommodating. also, whoever picks the music here has great taste. the only thing I would look out for is the wifi. my devices were connecting, but for some reason i wasn't able to access the internet. usually things like this are out of the staffs control so I dont think that should affect my rating of this place, but I wanted to include it in this review in hopes that the managerial staff might see it and address it hopefully. other than that, ive enjoyed my meal here. I got a lot of studying in. thanks for the good food and atmosphere!

Are you looking for immaculate vibes? Are you looking for knowledgeable and incredible queer friendly staff? Are you looking for coffee so good it will make your heart sing? Then come to Cavo. No fuss, no muss, and the only a-holes here are of the Volvo/tennis skirt variety. Good news, they don’t work here! Bad news, they do like good coffee apparently. Whether it’s the incredible coffee roasted by Viv or the incredible service of William, Peter, Sol and the gang—when you’re here, people take time to make you a perfect cup. This is the place where you can ask questions and be adventurous via barista’s choice. I’ll be real, the corn cookies are best when Valentina pulls them right out of the oven, but warming them is a close second. Also, don’t be cheap. This coffee is excellent and the food is made to order (besides the baked goodies, but again Valentina will make sure your cookie is delicious.) I almost didn’t want to write this review, because I don’t want you there. But, as a good deed, I’ll tell you the truth. Don’t miss out.

Great place that's not afraid to play some 70's rock full albums. Not just the hits. Was nice to hear an entire David Bowie LP. Service was with a smile, knowledge and friendly. At first I thought, oh no not another sterile strip center coffee joint. They proved me wrong. This is a comfortable atmosphere but you better like cow hide. Tip: you can park at Marquis II and there's not supposed to be a problem. I did for almost two hours and nothing happened. Cheers

Cafe for the young laptop crowd, likely Rice students. Very tasty matcha 🍵 latte. The space is modern and inviting and the vibe is definitely on the cool 😎 side! I like it! … the wifi however was not cooperating!

Delicious espresso! Good variety of baked goods. Friendly and helpful staff. Tried the iced Americano and the toast and jam - a perfect midday snack! The butter was soft and ready to spread, very flavorful. The blueberry jam was sweet, with whole berries in it. Seating was available, as was parking.

Nice atmosphere. Easy parking along the side of the building. No outdoor seating. Drinks are decent with some interesting seasonal specials such as a Tennessee latte. A bit on the pricey side. The food options are ok but would be nice to have 2-3 vegan & gluten free options which are clearly denoted. Overall like the concept but looking forward to see how it evolves.

Nice, clean coffee shop near West U and Upper Kirby. I stopped here to do some work after helping with an event at Rice. The coffee shop is right on Bissonnett with a small parking lot attached, but it wasn’t an issue on the Thursday afternoon I visited. The inside is pretty with lots of plants as decorations, but on the small-medium size range of shops. There’s a large barstool type table on the right with ~4 booths on the right and 3-4 tables on the left with another smaller barstool table against the wall. I think I saw 2-3 places to plug in so maybe come charged if you’re planning to work. I had my usual plain Iced Vanilla Latte and it was good. A nice refresher during this summer heat. The workers were friendly and the ambiance was nice and chill.

The barista suggested we try the iced caramel latte and it did not disappoint. The pastry selection was limited, but the earl grey scone wasn’t too bad. Cute inside and love the natural light aspect of the place.

I tried the chai latte and the red velvet underground latte (which is apparently seasonal). The chai latte was okay, but I cannot stop thinking about the red velvet underground drink!!! I have to go back for it. The place was pretty busy, but the service was still excellent.

Very nice modern coffee shop. Vanilla iced latte was good. I wasn't a huge fan of their food. It wasn't bad at all but not great in my opinion. Was quite full when I want but Managed to find parking and seating. Interior is very nice with a wide range of pastries available.

Clean and chic with good internet connection. The Earl Grey scones was delicious and they could warm it up as well.

I am a coffee roaster and my test of a truly great coffee shop is their plain espresso without anything added. Their espresso is by far the tastiest espresso I have ever had in any coffee shop, including my own. The lowest acidity with almost no bitter after taste. I’m impressed. And the food is great, and the atmosphere is gorgeous and peaceful!

Great coffee shop for doing work & studying! Nice, quiet ambient with fast internet and lots of seatings. Parking is a little tight but not too bad! :)

Busy place on the weekend but they make good quality coffee.

  • 2/5 Brian S. 5 months ago on Google
Inconsistent policy: "Free coffee with bean purchase" One time they allow free espresso, next time they say strict policy of free drip coffee only. I can justify the $$$ beans when they come with a drink, and I'm willing to tip well for the service, but I do not drink drip. Yes I realize they're charging $1 more for espresso, but that is also annoying...

My friend took me to this cafe for a quick iced americano (which it was super good, i love me some strong coffee flavor) and thanks to the recommendation of the staff I had a pretty good breakfast. It was a mushroom cheese and spinach danish WITH and egg on top. They have a nice lil kitchen so i believe they can customize your food as well. Loved the ambiance of the store and the big windows. I’m definitely coming back :)

This is a very nice spot. Coffee is good. Fair prices. The staff is attentive and welcoming. They have a bike rack INSIDE the building! Not sure if that belongs to them or their neighbor, but that is a huge plus for me.

Everything was fantastic. The baristas were able to do everything and were helpful. They were friendly and personable. The knew how to make a cortado so well. The food was clean, fresh, and delicious. It’s small but convenient and has all the right vibes. The only thing that could make this place better is more wall outlets. I was easily able to find a spot with an outlet but it does get busy here and if I hadn’t been early, I might not have been so lucky. I can recommend the Avo-Cavo Toast and the readymade chicken ceaser wrap. This is a gem. If you need food, coffee, or pastry, stop by in Houston! It’s so so good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Coffee is delicious with a nice, smooth taste of espresso in the lattes. The shop itself has ample seating for its size, but it is a bit small, so it can be crowded if it is busy. Overall, a nice place to study, work, or socialize with a clean, modern aesthetic and yummy drinks!

Stopped in after lunch for coffee and snack. Great coffee and food! Outstanding customer service individually and as a team behind the counter. The Lady in glasses with U of H themed hair was extremely knowledgeable, efficient and friendly! Definitely recommend this place to chill and refresh, I will be returning soon!

Honestly, my favorite thing about Cavo is that they don't blast obnoxious music. In so many coffee shops it's hard to focus on anything or even have a conversation. Cavo exemplifies the chill coffee shop vibe that (IMO) all should aspire to. That said, the coffee and food is great as well. I recommend the cappuccino, and my girlfriend says the teas are quite good. I'll keep coming back and recommending this place to others.

Best espresso! Lavender latte with oat milk is delicious and creamy. Lunch and breakfast sandwich are very tasty. They have their own roastery next to the shop, with great beans. Staff at West U are super friendly and welcoming.

Pros: Nice light space, good chairs, nice ambiance. Cons: Non-caffinated drinks are expensive and extremely. The first drink I received was at best lukewarm. When I brought it up more than half full they apologized but still charged me for a replacement. I should have left then but instead paid $5+ with tip for around 10oz of over-brewed until nearly undrinkable herbal tea. It know it’s a coffee shop but hot water and a tea bag shouldn’t be hard. Despite the nice atmosphere I doubt I will be back with this service.

The bartender was sweet and informative, as it was my first time there. He did not make me feel weird about being there. That's a big plus for me!!! I am an avid coffee lover and the fawn Expresso beans were absolute heaven when grounded and the taste was phenomenal with no rot gut or bitter, ashen overtones and aftertaste. I will definitely come back!!!!

We got an ice caramel latte and brewed coffee. Both were great! Staff was friendly. Atmosphere is nice! Masks are encouraged

Solid coffee shop. Lovely ambience - full of interesting things to look at and see. Nothing to complain about and would return. Five stars would be a solid pull of espresso that still had crema on the top (maybe just that one I got) - definitely not a complaint as the flavor was still good.

Very let down by the atmosphere. I cam here for the first time to work and get a coffee but there was 1 outlet. I grabbed my coffee and left. Great coffee though!

Great customer service! I went there for a bottle of water while waiting for my 11 years old boy finish tutoring right in building next to it. The baristas were very helpful, since they noticed I was holding a toddler and I was in a hurry! Nice bathroom! There is even tampons for women in need. I really liked the proposal of the coffee place. I might try coffee and come back for another review!

Love the vibes and scenery, cute and tiny place to catch up on work/school. Personally I am vegan so no desserts for me but I did have their overnight oats and they were lovely with the jelly ! Coffee was delectable but maybe the barista I had wasn’t having a good day <3 nonetheless love this place

Okay this matcha latte is no joke. It is absolute perfection, especially when paired with their warm Nutella cookie. 5 stars easily.
