Truly one of the best places to eat ever. Staff is awesome. Food is always amazing

Great selection with lots of homemade favorites! Blintzes come out with a delicate thin wrapper that was perfect, matzo ball soup had amazing broth with the right texture to the matzo ball itself, pastrami was great, stuffed cabbage comes in a just-right seasoned red sauce, and the cheesecake had a light texture that didn’t feel like you were eating something heavy! The strawberries that came with the cake were sweet and ripe too, perfect with the cake.

The guy who usually greets every customer upon entry to the shop was not there today. After working a 12 hour shift last night I had my heart set on two French Toast bagels and some strawberry cream cheese . Upon my entry no one spoke. There was only one other customer in the shop. The employees were busy filling an order and never once stopped to say “ hi we’ll be right with you “. I stood there awkwardly with my cream cheese for 2 minutes and then I decided to return the cream cheese to the refrigerator and leave . I’ll be back another day, hopefully the guy who always greets will be there.

Older Review: One of the best bacon egg and cheese bagels I’ve ever had. It’s on everything bagel with cream cheese at it has double bacon! Omggg so good ♥️ New Review: Used to love this place not anymore. All the waitresses are professional and nice expect the older white lady (she never says her name). It’s like she’s constantly confused when it comes to orders and doesn’t know how to work the system. Anytime I cash out with her my points are messed up and it’s aggravating. It might not be her fault it management updates her on how to use the register correctly but this is a on going issue that just keeps happening and never resolved.

Decor is nostalgic and cozy, highly recommend the corned beef hash. The breakfast potatoes are to die for (order them crispy).

I love the bagels made fresh every morning. I came here to get something for breakfast. The line was all the way out of the door. I can't resist of buying more than I can consume. I will be back to get more later.

Definitely in the top 2 Reuben sandwiches I have ever had. I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I'm not sure if they baked the rye bread, but it was fantastic. I wish I had discovered this place sooner.

Good but not amazing. $7.50 for a bagel sandwich and “home fries” I wish they made them like NYC style home fries but nonetheless good. Also, they give you all your condiments, utensils etc in a bag

The real deal. Lox sandwich on sesame bagel delicious. Home fries are unique and addictive crunchy-soft texture. Like halfway between a French fry and a potato chip. Worth your time if you love bagels.

I'm visiting from El Paso and my mom was raving about NYD&CS, so we had to come!😋 I ordered the 2 Eggs and a Plain Bagel with the House Fries. My food came and everything was semi-warm. I was anticipating to spread my cream cheese onto my bagel and it would be nice and hot. It wasn't. The butter was hardly melting. And my eggs and "fries" seemed like they were cooked a while before I ordered. I like the seasoning of the potatoes but I bet they would have been better if they were fresh. I might try for another chance next time I visit and maybe it was just an off day. My mom was surprised at the quality of the food and didn't finish her bagel. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I will come by before we leave back for some fresh bagels for sure! Just not sure on the dining experience.

One of our go to spots for breakfast, which is served all day. Plenty of other great authentic food. Just like being back home again In NY in an all too familiar diner/coffee shop. Of course there are the bagels and homemade whipped cream cheeses of varying flavors. Pretzel bagels are sold on Friday and Saturday only. If you weren’t aware, and hosting a party, or just want some for the fun of it…be sure to ask about the Houston Astro bagels. They are made special order only. Call ahead to order if planning on picking up.

First time here. The bagels are delicious; just the right texture and enough flavor. I tried the sesame and french toast bagels. This beats grocery store bagels hands down. I've definitely been missing out! Highly recommend.

The Bagel Shop has gone downhill in the last few years. I don't know if it is the impact of the Pandemic, the changes brought about by new management or something else? The bagels aren't as good. Now, they taste like grocery store bagels. Some of the long time wait staff seems to be gone, also. Most importantly, the kitchen staff has lost its touch. I've been ordering the same few things for 20 years now. I order standard menu items. The only special requests I ever make are Extra Crispy for the home fries and bacon. Today was another disappointment in regards to how the food was cooked. The scrambled eggs were runny and barely done never mind "well done." I don't ever choose to come here anymore unless a close family member requests it. I'm a long time customer who has been here with friends, family and business associates. I'm sorry to see that something has changed with the place. I hope that they can recover from whatever has caused these disappointing changes.

Very lovely classic dinner. Have a bakery connected to it when you enter. Children eat free Wednesdays and prices are very affordable. Loved eating here and can’t wait to come again!!

New manager is awesome and hilarious! The staff talk to each other like family, which is RARE. They always call each other "my heart" in either English or Spanish. Food is always fresh and very fairly priced! It's a great place for me to get work done on my computer, and they never rush me out. It's busy enough but never over-crowded. Will be back, I'm sure!

We did an online order yesterday for a smoked fish platter that was huge, lox bakery items. Awesome every one of them The staff worked hard to fill our order, and made adjustments due to out of stock items. 9:30 am Walked in the store to choose bagels, our order was missing six sesame bagels. After reviewing my receipt, it's turns out that we didn't get charged for them. There was a misunderstanding regarding the amount of bagels that's all. Fyi more bagels are the answer. We traveled from Trinity ,our new home here in tx. This trip was a treat for our family. We have been to the restaurant many times over the years. The quality is always top shelf. We will travel for awesome food, and don't mine paying a little extra for quality. Yesterday was an expensive day, but every time we visit we get a the smoked fish platter a long with extra bagels for home. I recommend everything here, is great. The best bagels, smoke fish ever

Very very crowded for such a small space. Unfortunately on the pastry side they can’t make toasted bagels to go, so I got my coffee (that was cold) with some pastries from that side from such an amazing girl. Honestly the crew are very nice. BUT… Went to another side to get a grilled cheese and a toasted bagel and took like 30 minutes waiting and being uncomfortable squeezed by other people. The bagel and my grilled cheese were cold and the home potatoes were very saggy - I am guessing because of the lack of management to pack on time. No napkins or utensils were inside te bag (other bummer), I spend around $40 for a very ok food, nothing special about it and it is nothing like NY (yes, I lived at there). I guess is just a hype place. Definitely not my to go. I don’t intend to comeback because I want to have warm food and enjoy a place without being touched by strangers that made me very uncomfortable.

This bagel store is the closest thing in Houston to a real NY bagel. My family only eats bagels from here and we came from NY. The owners are nice and the people who work the counter are very nice. They always have a selection and will tell you to wait if a batch is coming out hot.

I was in the neighborhood, so I went to get bagels and muffins. The food was excellent 👍 However, the service was Poor! All 3 times the servers were just down right Rude! They acted as if they didn't give a F..k! The last visit was with Vanessa.

Another bagel run for the best bagels in town. Frequent buyers can join a points club. A very solid assortment of bagels and spreads including lox and whitefish. Worth a stop.

Decent bagel, but my order was all wrong. Ordered a sundried tomato bagel with scallion cream cheese, and a blueberry scone. Got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese, and no scone. Receipt showed the order correctly, and they sure charged me for everything. My wife's food was right, at least.

Great breakfast. Relatively inexpensive if you just want toasted bagels. Fast service. Seating looks like something straight out of the '90s. They accept credit cards now. No longer kosher.

This place was amazing!! The sweet man taking orders could tell we hadn't been there before and helped us out by offering some suggestions and assisting us with where to go! His suggestion for everything bagel w jalapeño cream cheese tasted so good, you could tell they were made fresh!! Everyone working was super kind, especially sweet man behind the order counter despite some quite rude customers he had in there at the time so I'll definitely be back to try more of the stuff on their menu!

This place has amazing bagels! They make them onsite. They have so many choices including the rainbow bagel. They also make kid sized bagels. They have a restaurant that is attached to the Bagel Shop. Their food is very good. Their prices are very fair and their portions are great! They are accommodating to everyone from kids to adults.
