I
hate
to
give
this
review.
Me,
my
husband
and
our
4
kids
have
been
members
for
years.
We
homeschool
so
the
Y
has
been
mine
and
my
kids'
primary
source
of
community.
Over
the
last
few
months,
we
were
made
aware
of
some
behavioral
issues
my
toddler
was
having
(he
was
18
months).
But
the
descriptions
of
his
behavior
made
me
question
whether
the
staff
not
only
understood
basic
childhood
development
and
expectations,
but
then
knew
how
to
approach
challenges
with
toddler
behavior.
After
multiple
conversations,
the
Staff
failed
to
help
my
child
towards
their
(unrealistic)
behavioral
expectations
and
he
was
banned
indefinitely.
What's
absurd
to
me
(besides
the
staff's
clear
lack
of
training
and
understanding
of
childhood
development)
is
that
the
Y
boasts
to
be
a
place
for
all
people
within
the
community.
In
fact,
they
host
kids
all
summer
for
summer
camps
that
are
coming
from
hard
places,
many
of
them
possibly
with
trauma,
and
yet
they
cannot
help
a
securely
attached
2
year
old?!
I
used
to
give
glowing
reviews
and
actively
try
to
recruit
friends
because
of
the
community
feel
and
affordable
rates.
As
a
mama
bear,
I
can
no
longer
give
positive
reviews
because
their
child
watch
program
environment
is
not
healthy
for
toddlers.
There
are
also
others
disappointed
in
the
quality
of
the
program,
but
I'm
perhaps
the
first
to
speak
up
about
it
because
it
truly
is
the
most
affordable
option
for
large
families.
I'm
saddened
my
family's
relationship
with
the
Y
has
ended
this
way.
And
they
will
defend
themselves
over
this,
but
as
a
mama,
listen
up:
the
expectations
there
are
very
rigid
and
not
in
line
with
realistic
childhood
development.
There
are
other
mamas
upset
as
well,
but
now
that
our
Y-commited,
loyal
family
has
been
given
the
boot,
I'm
going
to
speak
up
about
it.
I
cannot,
in
good
conscience,
recommend
for
lack
of
training
and
understanding
in
proper
childhood
development,
despite
constantly
promoting
themselves
as
seeking
to
engage
and
enhance
the
lives
of
all
within
the
community.
I
guess
that
excludes
kids
under
2
years
old
from
loving,
securely
attached
families.
They
don't
have
patience
for
those
types.
I
will
add
that
over
the
years
we
were
members
there
were
a
few
teachers
who
built
relationships
with
my
children
and
whom
my
kids
loved.
They're
sad
to
not
see
them
or
their
Y
friends
anymore,
which
makes
me
sad
for
them.
But
we're
a
family
that
sticks
together.
And
our
youngest
member
has
been
kicked
out
of
their
program
for
unrealistic
reasons
because
decision
makers
don't
have
a
proper
understanding
of
developmentally
appropriate
behavior,
nor
do
they
understand
how
to
create
an
environment
that
helps
toddler
behavior
succeed-
so
our
whole
family
leaves.
