UPDATE:
Great
news!
The
pool
is
now
officially
open
on
Saturday
afternoons
until
5:00
p.m.
Consequently,
I
have
adjusted
the
rating
Stars.
The
Y
has
been
a
pillar
of
the
downtown
fitness
community
for
many
decades.

UPDATE:
Maintenance
issues
have
been
mostly
resolved,
however
the
pool
hours
remain
a
point
of
contention.
The
pool
has
remained
closed
on
Saturday
afternoons
since
November.
This
was
allegedly
represented
as
a
temporary
measure
due
to
a
Lifeguard
shortage.
Multiple
lifeguards
have
now
been
hired,
yet
the
pool
remains
closed.
And
we
have
just
received
notice
that
our
monthly
dues
will
be
returning
to
pre-pandemic
levels,
so
we
will
now
be
paying
even
MORE
for
LESS
service.
Why
can't
the
Flagship
YMCA
keep
the
pool
open
on
Saturday
afternoons?
This
is
a
major
inconvenience
for
those
of
us
who
work
for
a
living,
and
have
for
years
relied
on
our
Saturday
afternoon
lap
swims
to
maintain
our
fitness...
ORIGINAL
POST:
I
have
been
a
member
for
years.
I
love
to
lap
swim
in
the
pool.
Sadly,
twice
in
the
past
week
the
pool
has
been
closed
due
to
lack
of
lifeguards.
Even
worse,
I
did
not
find
out
about
the
closure
until
I
arrived
to
the
facility.
And
when
the
pool
is
closed,
they
also
close
the
steam
&
sauna
rooms.
This
issue
falls
squarely
on
management,
which
has
been
sorely
lacking
lately.
Maintenance
has
also
been
shoddy.
The
community
whirlpool
has
had
a
broken
aeration
(bubbles)
system
for
over
a
month.
The
women's
steam
room
has
also
been
broken
for
over
a
month.
We
are
definitely
not
getting
what
we
pay
for.
This
place
used
to
be
a
gem,
but
it
now
needs
a
major
management
overhaul.
