Cool crowd & energetic vibe. This place has its own community. You always see the same friendly & familiar faces.

This was a quaint place to stop by. If you're interested in having a place to study, solo reading, or an intimate one on one meeting - this is a good place to check out (if you're ok with it being filled people). A good thing about this place is that it has an outside seating area. It's not very big but enough spacing to enjoy the outside air with some shade. The coffee was good but definitely not the best I have. The flavor was not prominent enough for me. Slightly disappointed that their coffee selection didn't have more variety but I just assumed it's one of those coffee places with limited flavors. I tried their iced latte with almond milk, I felt like if I got hot, I would taste the coffee flavor more vs the milk. I didn't try any of their meals but did eat the cookie and scone. Their sweet/ pastry selection I feel was a bit lacking considering I can get more from bookstore coffee shop. The cookie and scone were good though but from reading other reviews, I can understand why it's not everyone's favorite. But do try the scone, I really liked it cause it wasn't too hard and it was very tasty (blueberry white chocolate flavor). Parking wasn't too bad considering the area but you have to take in consideration that it shares a lot with 3 other stores and in the looks of it, when I went, 2/3 were closed and parking lot was filled.

I was super excited to try this place. I came all the way from Canada to try this specialty coffee shop, but what a disappointment. I wish I had listened to the other reviews regarding customer service. I want to start off by saying that I choose to visit specialty coffee shops over franchises. I have 10 years of coffee experience. I'm a regular at dialing in espresso and cupping. When I arrived, I let the cashier know that it was my first time, and I'm excited to try this place. He informed me that pastries are 50%off and that the kitchen closes at 3 pm and that I should come earlier next time. It's not exactly welcoming or informative, but I'll go ahead. He didn't inform me that this was a siphon coffee specialty or where the beans come from. I ordered 2 drinks and 4 food items, and my total plus tip came up to $40. I ordered their siphon, which costs $10. I inquired about beans and whether we can choose which beans we want to be used for our drink. The cashier wasn't able to answer, so he asked the barista. Barista took a bag of beans and said, "This is what we use." It said Mexican single origin. We asked about notes, and he pointed towards the bag. Which said notes of "baker's chocolate, brown sugar and caramel". I was surprised that barista wasn't able to tell us directly. We had to read it ourselves. When we were called out for our food, I was sitting on the patio. I had 3 trays of food, which I picked up, and the door knob to the patio is a push down handle. I struggled to carry the trays of food and pushed the knob down with my elbow. There was nobody there who helped me or supported me. Despite the counter to pick up food located right in front of the door to the patio. Then, when the siphon coffee was ready, I watched the barista pour himself coffee that I paid for in an espresso cup to sample and say out loud, "Let me just try it. Yup, it tastes good. " He then helped himself and poured some more. I am super confused. Is this normal practice around here? Does a chef sample your food before serving it to you? I had to carry siphon coffee by myself to the patio with zero assistance. It is boiling hot, and help would have been appreciated. Once I poured myself a glass, it was obvious that the taste was off. I have had siphon coffee before, and it tasted nothing like this. The coffee was bitter, over extracted, and burnt tasting. It was undrinkable. I asked my friend to try it and she agreed, the taste was off. There weren't any notes of caramel or chocolate. I went inside to inquire about a change of coffee. It wasn't any better. I went a second time and asked for a refund. It didn't feel right to pay for $10 coffee that I didn't drink or enjoy. When I informed the barista, he said it must have been the beans, and it was a bad batch. Regardless of where the coffee comes from, barista should know how to dial in coffee. I regret spending money here and tipping when nothing was worth it. The bathrooms are dirty, and the soap dispenser is empty. It doesn't look like they attend to their customers on the patio. Customer service, professionalism, quality, and friendliness are missing. I do not recommend it at all. You can be the judge and see what I paid $40 for.

Went here to meet up with a mate of mine to catch up. Counter staff were super friendly and helpful with getting a beverage selected, as well as a light bite. I got the vegan taco tray with the habanero sauce. Nothing mind blowing, but a solid trio of black bean tacos with potatoes, the cold brew was rich with a hint of a fruity character. We sat outside and that was a super chill, roomy area. They even have a speaker that is just the right volume to not disturb conversation, but you will definitely hear when your order is up. I would surely visit again.

Road to here on my bike from my hotel near Hermann Park. I have to say... this place is really nice... when I arrived, I couldn't find anywhere to lock my bike up. However, they have a spot to put it next to the outdoor seating that is shaded and has fans to keep you cool (even in 100° weather). When ordering an individual, was in front of me talking to the cashier and saying that they received the wrong order. The cashier apologized, gave them a refund, and gave them the food they ordered and the meal they mistakenly gave them. When I ordered the cashier, was forthcoming and on point with recommendations. I ordered a cold brew, banana bread, and avocado toast. In a matter of no less than five minutes, I had my order. Pros: Great food, customer service, and coffee. Avocado toast had lots of avocado! Cons: Not much parking or bike rack. In all, it's an awesome place to chill and get some work done. I would HIGHLY recommend this coffee shop.

Vibe- Cozy coffee shop in Montrose with plenty of inside and outside seating. This would be a good spot to study, work, and/or hangout. Customer service- Great! The barista was very patient with me and my order. Food/drinks- I went with a hot matcha latte with oat milk and I also ordered the vegan taco trio that came with 3 tacos. I got 2 with black beans and potatoes and one with vegan chorizo. Everything I ordered was delish! *chef’s kiss* Parking- It’s in a shopping strip so there’s about 30 parking spots and some street parking available too.

Clean and friendly laid back environment, overall a solid spot to grab a drink and relax. Both indoor and shaded outdoor seating available. Drinks and food are very solid for the money, although the menu could use a few more options when it comes to pastries. Parking is relatively easy during off hours, but during peak hours it may be a bit more difficult. Open later than many other coffee shops, so a good choice for those wanting to grab a drink and work a bit later.

I had a blast here with my partner. Food was good, servers were so sweet and kind and helpful. Atmosphere was great! I could definitely come here and study more often. This was my first time being there and I was not disappointed. Coffee was super good too. Definitely recommend.

My cappuccino was yummy & my son loved his $15.00 fancy hydrogen-whatever-it-was coffee. Lol I must admit, it was the smoothest tasting coffee I’ve ever had. No trace of bitterness. Try it, you’ll love it!

Great local specialty coffee shop Siphon is one of my go-to coffee shops whether it’s to get work done, read or relax. I’m not a big coffee drinker but the beverages here have always been amazing! If you’re unsure of what to order, I’d recommend the Barista Special and list your preferences and they will make a great drink for you! Staff are super-friendly; I’ve never had a bad experience here. Cafe internet is solid and bathrooms are clean. The cafe features indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating features a variety of styles including leather couches, counter-top and barstools, and traditional tables. Outdoor seating is mostly booths with cute overhead lights. I’d recommend avoiding outdoors when it’s really hot and/or dusk/dawn as there are mosquitoes. I do wish there were more outlet plugs at the cafe - these can be very limited when it’s busy. The parking lot fills up quickly but there is plenty of (shaded) street parking a block over.

I come for the empanadas and stay for the coffee and vibes. The all three, empanada are great but I particularly like the potato one for a quick breakfast with chimichurri and a golden milk latte or cappuccino. The coffee here is lovely and there’s solid variety. I also like the rose cardamom latte here. The customer service is always delivered with care. The couches are comfy and there are many options for seating on your own or with groups inside and outside. I love that they serve wine too. It feels very European, I’ve missed cafes that serve both. I love the merchandise and they had bags of high quality beans as well as the prettiest chocolate bars (see the photos). I only knocked off a star because this place is always packed and at peak hours it’s so hard to find a spot to seat especially if the weather isn’t nice. As well, there isn’t enough parking for the volume at peak hours and it can be hard to find street parking. As well the line moves pretty slow in my opinion for ordering. I understand why. It’s busy and worth the wait, but be prepared for inconveniences but joy when finally served.

The vibe here is great. Been a while since I last visited. The ladies that work behind the counter have a wonderful aura about them. Lots of of genuine positive energy. Enjoyed my ice cold brewed coffee.

I had a rose cardamom coffee with an extra shot...and cold foam? Yes, cold foam. Disgusting cold foam that I didn't asked for. Coffee barely tasted like rose cardamom. No, the extra shot shouldn't overpower it. I've done it before with lavender coffee elsewhere. Service is lacking... I avoid Starbucks but after this, I rather go there. Outdoor space and bathroom were good. Indoor seating feels tight, not much space to walk around. I will definitely avoid this place.

I can't say enough good things about this place. A while ago I ordered delivery for my wife and asked them to add a message to the cup. They spiced it up and added real love to the message. I had some issues with the order, called in, and the manager took the time to take care of me while her kids were in the room there with her. When I went to eat in, the place was really nice, had a great vibe, and all sorts of people were there. The food was delicious and interesting. They had great coffee but the food was surprisingly delicious and amazing. 10/10 recommend.

This place is fantastic in the following areas; Food has a unique taste; my favorite is an eggs burger. The speed for the food order and getting to your table to exceptional. Amiable staff, and the owner and I have his picture below 👇 in a black shirt. The drinks are incredible, especially the coffee flavors and the style they make. The decor is superb; please try to outdoor ally setting area. It gives you a Mediterranean feel. Amazing crowd! Not so much amazing Quantity vs. Price $$$ is a bit expensive for the portion of the food. See the pic below for my burger almost close to $14.00. Please give it a try; the manager is big time Houston Astors supporter ❤️❤️❤️

Great coffee, relaxed, comfortable & lively atmosphere . Enjoyed the siphon slow brewed coffee for two and people watched in their outdoor patio area. Also, the el taco grandes are top notch!

Awesome coffee spot! Really changes your mood and sets you up for the day! The staff were nice and quick. I got earl gray tea and quiche. Both were fabulous.
