This establishment is not for people of color. If you’re not white you’re not right. Bartender kept skipping us but serving everyone that kept popping up after us. My husband says “Fxck this” and walks off bc we were waiting for a hot minute and kept getting overlooked. No yelling. No aggression. No calling the bartender anything. Didn’t even talk to her. HE WALKED AWAY. Nothing that required what happened next. The unprofessional bartender called A GANG of security AND A GANG OF COPS… humiliated me and my husband because she sucks at giving customer service. Management sitting here trying to make excuses for his horrible staff instead of issuing an apology for any of it. It became very obvious that when a black person expresses disappointment to their poorly trained bartenders… mistreatment is justified… got it. Thanks for letting us know. Will never go here ever again. Truly upset with the employees and the management.

First time visiting and had a very negative experience. The employees are super rude. Not very good first impression bad vibes here...they discriminated against us because we brought a friend with speacial needs. We wanted to provide her a little normalcy for a fun night out. They embarrassed this poor girl by making her feel less than adequate to be at this establishment. I honestly thought this was a thing of the past but I guess some individuals still have a problem with the special needs community.

this is what city slickers would think a honkytonk is. nobody is talking. nobody is laughing. everyone runs off the dancefloor as soon as the song ends like they couldn’t wait to get away. normally i would love a mix of hip hop and country but 9/10 songs were b-side flops. we also got weird unnecessary scoldings from two different staff members, once for setting our drinks down on an unused reserved table before the people had arrived, and for having our drinks on the dancefloor. Had we known it was forbidden we would have been happy to oblige, and it was completely unnecessary and unacceptable behavior from the npc jealous woman to literally shoo us off the dancefloor. i’m wondering if it’s something about how my friend looks. this is a great place to go if you’re a fake cowboy and want to be policed by the staff. i regret patronizing this place. edit: i just want to add that the decor and ambiance of this place is really cute. as soon as i walked in i got excited to be at a honkytonk. so it really is a shame that the atmosphere was so strict and uncomfortable. do lmk once you figure out how to train your staff, play the bops, and find real cowboys to come and play. 🤠

Price increased on table and bottle and I'm ok with that. Server never came back I had to get my own shots every time. For 8 people to be exact but I was only allowed to take 2 at a time.. after doing this multiple times yea it sucked.. not including the times I had to go get buckets..of beer and mixed drinks... I refused to let service ruined my wife's birthday.. I did all the work.. next time I'll just ask for a clock in time card...

Okay place- they do play mostly country with is good ( could still afford to ditch the trash club music). But the real annoyance is for birthdays they have girl waitstaff come out dressed super skanky blowing whistles exceedingly loud and carrying huge posters through the crowd. Last night there were literally like 10 birthdays. Just has a trash downtown club vibe to it. They also allow girls in who are wearing literally lingerie as clothes. Idk could be cool place but trying to cater to two different vibes.

This use to be an awesome place UNFORTUNATELY, my family and I had a very negative experience tonight. I wanted to give my family an authentic Texas experience coming from The Bahamas. We signed up for the guest list and were still asked to pay the cover charge when the promotion says we were free before 10 which we arrived before. All 10 of us were sitting on the patio enjoying the sights with drinks and enjoying the music. Our group took up 2 tables and one of my family members was approached by an employee and asked to leave because, and I quote, "you have to leave because I've seen you with your head on the table 4 to 5 times". There are no policies visible or that we have seen online that says someone cannot place your head on the table for a few seconds. It was a very embarrassing experience for all of us and very trivial. It was noticeable that we were all together and if there was some sort of policy in place, then all they had to do was explain the policy and ask us to comply. It seems as though maybe they just didn't want us in there. The approach was very unprofessional and we are owed an apology. In addition, another family member asked about moving the jenga game sitting on the table top and was told no because they were dealing with a 'situation'. The situation was telling my family member he had to leave.We just went out to have a good time and they succeeded at ruining it. Do better Whiskey River, you never know who you have in your establishment and the potential publicity that it can generate.

Years ago this use to be a great place on a Saturday night. Now it's not under the current management. The music is way too loud so that it's hard to carry on a conversation within the club. At times the music is even distorted because it is too loud. I've been coming here over 10 years and it was never this loud before the pandemic. It's got to be louder than OSHA approved sound levels. Likewise, who comes into a bar to watch music videos on the TVs? Years ago in the fall the college football games would be on which attracted more people into the club. I, as well as most of my other C&W dancing friends, have found other more enjoyable places to go dancing now.

Great place to meet fun people & have a really good evening. Well worth the wait. The drinks are pricey but very good. The food is good but most people come to dance. For adults only to dance. Under 21 years old not allowed in.

I was invited here last night by my brother to have a drink. When I walked in I was greeted by a nice young lady and wonderful people dancing to great music, But as soon as my brother and I walked to the first bar to the far right the atmosphere changed as the bartender with the Cowboy hat was extremely rude with his hands folded with a stone face charged me $10 dollars for what was supposed to be a $2 dollar crown Royal night until 10pm. The way My brother and I was treated by the bartender was disrespectful, unacceptable, rude, and make this place feel like a racist establishment.

Went with friends and co-workers they enjoyed themselves and the environment but our waitress didn’t do so good very long periods coming back to table. I ended up going ask a bouncer for my waitress on 2 of the occasions. For the rest of the night we just decided it was easier to go up to the bar and order drinks that way but I had to keep going back because the bartender said it was a 2 drink limit each time and we had at least 7 or 8 of us showed up. Other than that everything else was good

The vibe is good at this place.. Everyone has a sync in dance for some songs, and There are couple does salsa on the dance floor which is a treat to watch.. Good place for parties 🎊, outdoor seating is too good and has heaters. Enjoyed being at this place. The bull ride is a must try.

Went here last week and really enjoyed myself. Some of the songs were so beautiful, it reminded me of how grateful I am to live in Texas! Look up a song called 7 summers and as she’s walking away 🥹

I felt it was important to issue a warning to anyone who ever goes to this place and doesn't make reservations, which you have to pay for. We had a party of 11 last night so we arrived early to find a place to hang out which we did despite almost all of the tables being reserved. My daughter asked management if she could "reserve" the table we got and they her that wasn't necessary. About an hour into our evening we were told our table was reserved and told us to find another one. The establishment allowed someone else to reserve OUR space AFTER we had it. Needless to say this establishment was wrong as well as rude. They will NEVER get another penny of my money along with all those that were with us and now hopefully some of y'all. Rant over

I loved this place! We went for the first time and the drinks were nice and strong. A bit pricey BUT YUMMY! the only thing that had me stop in the middle of my drunken stupor was the outside bathrooms. They were clean to an extent BUT- the tp pictured below stopped me in my tracks. Not sure if they knew (doubtful) but looked like the "users" were cleaning their needles in the tp roll, enough for me to snap a pic. Def would go back but will bring my own tissue going forward

My friends and I went there last Thursday and we had an amazing time! The drinks and music were great. And I wanna thank the person in charge of the valet parking who took good care of our cars and made us not worried about them while we had fun. Def we gonna come back again.

I visited for the first time not too long ago after hearing about it for some time. Honestly, I was blown out of the water! Our bartender, Myka helped our entire party with super quick drink times and such great great service!! Will be returning soon now.

Man after a hard week working 52 hours a week. This a safe and great place to unwind and cut some carpet up. We have been coming to this place for the last 10 years and we have never had any problems. They also love there first responders and military personnel.

Ok so the thing about whiskey is yes it's always a good time BUT my advise is get there in the time frame of when they open - 10pm or you'll be stuck in a long line. second once it gets packed you're going to spend FOREVER in line trying to get drinks. so drink up all you can before the crowd comes. i only come here every once in a blue moon but you'll have a blast! if you don't like heavy crowds this isn't the place for you.

Great place to dance and have a good time. Crowd of people were great super easy to make friends and just have a good time. Will be back again

Tonight was my first time at whiskey, and I loved it! I had Myka as my bartender and she was so sweet and helpful with getting us our drinks! She was fast and treated us like friends. I had an amazing night. I’m definitely coming back and I’m hoping to have her as our bartender again!

Nice Chill spot. But the DJ on the oustide deck on Saturday Nov 5th is racist. He should be fired and learn how to speak to paying customers in a nicer way.

I had an outstanding experience at Whiskey River North, thanks to our server Keily. Their attention to detail, personalized recommendations, and positive energy at the bar made the night so much more memorable! Yall need to give her a raise!

This has quickly become my favorite place to spend my summer nights away. I have severe anxiety and I really appreciate bartender Lee who’s always been patient and understanding when I order my drinks. Makes the place more welcoming. Thank you for all the unforgettable nights!

Luna had the best customer service compared to anybody I encounter on our girls night out! He was helpful and answered all of our questions upon entering. We were frazzled last minute trying to get a table and he helped us out quickly and made our night go super smooth. We had a blast all thanks to Luna! Give that man a raise!!!!

Any place that still open for dancing after all we've been through in this world gets an automatic five-star review in my opinion but this place really goes the extra mile to make sure that we have a fun and safe place to go and you have fun that's what counts in this life right now

This was my first time at Whiskey River and I had a wonderful time. One thing that gave me pause-and a yuck face..... they reuse the syringe for the shots! The young lady asked for them back after our purchase. I will never do the syringe shots again! The tube shots are safe and I didn’t see them recycled. The music was great, taco trucks nearby if you’re hungry and just overall a friendly atmosphere. I look forward to my next visit.

The staff as always came through for a birthday party with about 50 guests. The manager Alec, Lauren our waitress, Joey H the go to guy for booking, DJ Damien and security did an outstanding job in getting everyone what they needed and playing great music. Whiskey River North, great job and thanks for always taking care of our group. 5 stars as always.

Excellent service, consistently for several years now. Whether I’m booking a table with Joey, always interacting with staff, or enjoying the music it’s always a pleasant experience. The vibe at Whiskey River is amazing too. Everyone is having a great time and friendly.

Great service and atmosphere!!! Was looking for a place to host a surprise party with friends for my wife’s birthday. A friend recommended me to Joey at Whiskey River North to help set up and coordinate our party. Joey was great to work with with setting up and arranging everything for me. If you are needing to plan a party or event definitely reach out to Joey. During our time there our server was excellent and made sure my group was taken off.

Don’t promote free entry after the cookoff if you can’t honor that. We were denied entry for no reason. I have always been a supporter of whisky river for years but i won’t be back again after this.

It had been a while since I had made it out to whiskey and after last night having a server like Kayley I hope it’s not long til I can make it back again! She was phenomenal! Fast with bring us what we wanted and continuously kept checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed! If you’re going to whiskey river do yourself a favor and make sure to request her section. I assure you that you will not be disappointed!

WR North is my go to place!! Great atmosphere and staff!! Naomi the manager/ bartender is the best, always willing to make your experience there memorable and fun!! Alec the GM always making sure everything is running smoothly and safe. From the door guys to the bouncers, all make you feel like family from the minute you walk in!! I highly recommend from Thursday to Sunday if you are looking for a great time this is your place!!

This place takes ur money n then tries to throw you out if you are having fun. After spending money over $300. I don't recommend to spend money on bull or party table. They are a rip off

I had my birthday celebration here and the staff went all lout to make sure I felt special. One of the managers treated me like family and she even gifted us some free beers. The bottle service was so much fun and I was not expecting it, our waitress was very funny and kept refilling our mixers and ice even when we didn’t ask. All-in-all the service was above what I was expecting, so casual and warm! The environment was the best place to take my out of state friends to get a good slice of Texas in one night. The usuals are friendly and will teach you how to dance, my friends loved it. It’s also very big inside and if you want to go outdoors the patio also has a dance floor and it very fun. They play different songs so it’s perfect for your friends that want a small change. I usually spend my time by the fire pit in between songs. The bartenders were all so much fun and had so many creative suggestions for me and my group. My favorite was a custom whiskey based birthday shot. If you’re looking for a fun place to go on the weekend, I 100% recommend whiskey. The tacos are good after a night of partying and the staff is incredibly fun. I will be looking towards going this weekend and celebrating future birthdays here.

It’s 12:45 am at night, we came from downtown Houston ( Freind’s birthday). The drive is around 40min and we got turned down. The reason being since my boyfriend had lulu lemon joggers with a polo. We got told we can talk to the owner even thought he isn’t there…Why even say such thing in the same sentence If we didn’t ask ? Anyways, the bouncer was rude. The place was ridiculous for having that dress code for an establishment in a houston suburb.

I used to love this place; however, lately for some reason they’ve been putting sawdust all over the dance floor (literally in big piles, both at the edges and the middle of the floor). I’ve never seen anything like this anywhere. This not only ruins shoes (my dance boots are now completely caked with fine dust), it also makes dancing much more difficult (especially spinning) and breathing downright dangerous, as clouds of fine dust are continually circulating in the air. Hopefully they will stop doing this soon; I’m going to miss dancing there!

$37 for a bucket of budweiser, no thanks! Plus, this place was overly crowded & had no space to actually dance.. & you have to pay $5 for the bull rides.. Go to Stampede! Bull rides are free & Way better atmosphere!

The moment we checked in everything went smooth. We had our own escort bringing us to our table. Our server was very sweet in making sure if we needed anything we can go to her. My group had a great time it was such a memorable night we can’t wait to come back!

This place was so much fun ! I first started ordering drinks with the bartender Aurora and she had an amazing attitude and was super fast and was really good at remembering my rounds . She said she had to go and I went to the other bartender Mika or whatever her name is and she was an absolute nightmare . Not only was she rude with me but I noticed that she was just rude to everyone around her . If you don’t want to be a bartender then try another field !
