This used to be the only hotel I would recommend for my family and friends to stay when visiting throughout the year and every year for my birthday, however after this last stay I will never view this hotel the same. Hotel staff constantly entering without knocking, being harassed by hotel staff day and night for an updated payment method just to find out after check out both cards were successfully charged the entire time (doubling the amount charged for my stay), and dealing with my keys being constantly deactivated. The stay was far from serene. The hallway even wreaked so bad (smelled like dog urine)…the front desk staff was familiar with the preexisting issue and all they could offer was air freshener. Just horrible. This hotel left me feeling improperly harassed and extremely uncomfortable for 5 nights to the point where I shortened my stay and rushed to leave. As a silver member (myself) and a gold member (my fiancé) there was no reason for the staff to treat us so poorly with no accommodations. This issue could have been easily resolved with a holding fee and closing our charges at the end of our stay then knocking before entering, however, the hotel staff treated us like peasants. I stayed at LV Cosmo 2 weeks prior to this stay and only 3 nights and our cost was triple the cost of this 5 nights stay and the Elite member services team didn’t dare treat us like this and we were staying in the PENTHOUSE. And as a solution to all of the inappropriate harassment, disruption to stay, inappropriate actions from hotel staff, stinky halls, and discomfort we faced for 5 nights…The most the Director of rooms offered was $400 or a $2300 bill. UNACCEPTABLE

I was a photographer for a wedding in the Carter Boardroom and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bride didn't include me with the meal but the wedding coordinator said let me see what I can do and took very good care of me. Everyone is very professional and the hotel is gorgeous! I would recommend to anyone. Parking is a lot if you're parking in the garages nearby. I suggest using the valet service.

Great location downtown with a modern feel. Valet parking made it s easy at check in which was very easy thanks to a very good staff. We were only in town for one night to meet friends at a baseball game but this is one of those hotels that if you had to stay for several days you would be happy. The entire hotel was a pleasant ambiance and the room was very clean and modern. You can tell they take pride in their hotel and have a doorman to keep out those who don’t have business in the hotel. Typically you only have this issue in major cities but it can be an issue especially in a place like Houston so it was good to see a proactive approach. We would definitely stay here again.

We were here for an event and the valet parking was supposed to be comped, but when we went up to the valet, they requested us to park in the garage. We went to the event to find out only valet is comped, we had to repark and pay money at the garage. Wish the valet guys were better trained and prepped. Hotel was good

Stayed here a while back and my sinuses haven’t been right ever since. When I went to straighten the bed comforter on the bed I noticed underneath it there were black spots all over the bed comforter which appeared to be mold. I reported it to the front desk so the guy working that evening was nice enough to upgrade my room to a suite. I contacted the third party I booked through once I returned home and they notified me saying the hotel said it was nothing they could do because I took the suite. So I guess if the guy wouldn’t have upgraded me to a suite for that one night I guess I had no choice but to sleep in mold. I didn’t notice the mold until my last night staying here so for 2 days I slept in the bed and didn’t know until I went to make up the bed. The hotel is nice I advise checking the bed comforters before sleeping in the bed. I have been dealing with constant congestion since staying here.

The hotel has okay service. For it being a JW Marriott, we did upgrade to a suite. The bathroom was very spacious with nice views, but the room was very awkward. It’s like they wasted the view in the bathroom. It kept feeling like it one too many pieces of furniture in the living space. The restaurant was good and we also had lounge access but at breakfast there was never a clean table and the food was very basic. They did not have enough staff in the lounge. Then one day there were dogs all over the lobby because they were doing dog yoga. The valet staff spent more time petting dogs than getting cars. We called ahead for our car and had to wait an addition 1/2 hour after their estimated time for the car. Literally it was an hour to get the car. The Valet service needs to be a LOT more professional.

Stayed her for a few days while visiting on business. Stayed here a few times before and service is always top notch. Everyone from the doorman, reception desk, service staff, etc... are always very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Nice place to stay if you're looking for somewhere in downtown Houston.

This is a wonderful property with unique features and tremendous facilities. A great spa for everything from a full treatment to a simple thirty minute express massage (great after a business day). First class fitness center facility and equipment. The concierge lounge is top notch in every regard. Outstanding facilities with excellent food services and selection. The staff in each department is professional and courteous. The restaurant is more than suitable for hosting either clients or friends. I’ve not experienced the meeting facilities at this property but they appear to be expansive and wonderfully appointed. The valet service is also outstanding. Everyone at this property seems well trained in their service orientation and demonstrates their customer care. One valet, knowing I preferred a brand of soda not offered at the property, had my favorite in ice and waiting in my room. After a long day of meetings it was so nice getting to the room and seeing something I would have to out to find and purchase were it not for his thoughtfulness. So thoughtful and so much a part of this property’s ruling mindset. When in Houston on business or pleasure I stay at this property even when it might be easier to stay closer to the area I’ll be at during the day. It has proven worth the extra travel. Great rooms with comfortable furnishings, bedding, linens and towels. The structural beams that appear in various parts of the hotel call back to its origins while making this property all the more unique. I can easily recommend this property. Explore all it has to offer. And know it’s in demand so book in advance.

We have stayed here twice and each time has been an absolute pleasure. The service is always top notch. The room service is actually tasty. The location is close to a ton of attractions. The shuttle they offer to get around was so much better than getting an Uber. This is one of my favorite hotels. Thank you!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown for my birthday, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by exceptional valet service that set the tone for my entire stay. The hotel's elegant atmosphere and attention to detail were truly impressive. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean. The comfort of the bed and the quality of amenities exceeded my expectations. The city views from my room were a delightful bonus. What truly stood out, though, was the valet staff. They were not only courteous but went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. From recommendations for local dining to their professionalism and friendliness were exceptional. The price was a bit on the high end at $50 a day but the staff was great. The location of the JW Marriott Houston Downtown is also worth noting, as it allowed for easy access to many attractions and dining options in the area. Downfall, I went to get a Long Island at the bar and I didn’t think to ask the price because no one expects a drink to be $30. That part I did feel swindled paying $60 for 2 drinks. I would have returned them and said no thank you but they were made already. Overall, my experience at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown was nothing short of outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Houston. I can't wait to return and experience their hospitality again.

Our stay at the newly renovated JW Marriott Downtown was nothing less than Amazing. The room was spacious, clean, and up to date if not better than other hotels in its price range. Also for dinner be sure to ask for the manger Katy, her professionalism and super sweet personality is simply top notch. All of the food and drink options are reasonably priced and overall very tasty. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you want to be in the heart of downtown.

We loved it here so much! I/we don’t plan to stay anywhere else but here when we visit again. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it truly felt like a legit vacation here. The service we received is similar to that we receive when we travel abroad. I certainly appreciate the kindness of all the staff members. From the valet, to the front desk, to the bell service, bar and restaurant. Everything was amazing. My only issue I had (which is not to the hotel’s fault) was that some of the drivers behind you as you are turning into the valet and awaiting to move up are very aggressive and rude. They will literally run you over as you are trying to wait your turn, so as a heads up, please be careful! Perhaps the valet sign could be larger so that the aggressive drivers may have more patience lol We loved our stay and absolutely can not wait to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The front desk staff and housekeeping were professional, helpful and friendly. The location was great because it is close to a lot of restaurants and right next to the red line for the train. The Executive Lounge was nice and offered a great breakfast, snacks and beverages. We will definitely stay here if we visit Houston again in the future!

Very well located hotel within walking distance to Toyota center and Minute Maid park. Checking in was a breeze, valet parking was flawless. Everyone encountered was pleasant and helpful. Wish they had the evening reception on Fridays and Saturdays on the 11th floor lounge. Morning breakfast in the lounge was delicious with plenty of variety and nice comfortable seatings. The rooms are very quiet and well maintained. Only issue was the espresso machine was out of service and this really broke my heart. Not a deal breaker though. Will use again when in town.

Great luxurious hotel with a lot of amenities- however, they changed the king bed room I booked to a double queen themselves AFTER I already checked in to my booked DELUXE king room. Then even though as a gold member I had to argue with management when I was given my complimentary upgrade but to a room that was actually a downgrade. Overall very disappointed by the management and customer service by the hotel.

I will tell you this now, I never walked into a hotel bar with such pleasant service and communication and friendliness! I ordered a mango margarita and this was the best margarita I have ever taste !!! Nada tempted me so I ordered a passion fruit margarita which was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the meat balls. ! She suggested the dessert and wow !!!!!

What a wonderful hotel! We stayed last night for my husbands birthday. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The service is what took our stay to another level. Jose went above and beyond, he was so friendly and sweet, very attentive , quick and just overall wonderful! The front desk staff were friendly and the check in and check out process was quick and simple. The valet was a little pricy, but worth it. Will definitely be back!

Very nice hotel once you get inside. Challenge was actually being able to drop off our car at the valet to check in on Saturday afternoon ahead of concerts/events. Very small side street for the valet drop off surrounded by above ground metro trains. Police would not let us turn the first time we tried. After going around the block for 10 minutes, we were allowed to turn, only to be told by the valet to go around again. Be sure to plan an extra 30 minutes for car drop off. Also, no complimentary shuttle anymore. We ended up walking to Toyota Center. About 15 minute walk. We ate early dinner at the restaurant. Nice enough. Hotel Room itself was very comfortable. Neat old steel beams in the hallway. Nice executive lounge as well.

This hotel is pristine, clean, and classy. The JW Marriott Downtown is our oasis for a refreshing staycation! We have stayed on numerous occasions for personal accomplishments and their team always makes us feel welcomed and celebrated with special touches. The rooms with the soaking tubs are the BEST, and their concierge-level is fabulous-- highly recommended. Valet is $54/night (including taxes) but is very quick and courteous. Otherwise, the hotel is a few steps from public transit. Thank you to Manuel for making our most recent visit extra enjoyable. We will be back soon!

The staff was amazing. The spa was beyond compare. Brianna did my facial, completely relaxing, and very helpful skin information given. I would recommend the stay and spa. I also did the body massage with the extra exfoliation soak in the jet tub.

What an amazing experience! The hotel is so beautiful, the staff is so friendly, the valet are so cool, and the location is perfect. My wife and I were able to enjoy a nice quiet getaway from Austin for the Memorial Day holiday and the hotel really showed us amazing customer service. The suite with the bathtub by the corner windows made my wife so happy and relaxed and we loved the executive lounge. If you’re ever in Houston you should definitely give this place a stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown for my birthday, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by exceptional valet service that set the tone for my entire stay. It cost extremely high though. The rooms were spacious, and clean. I didn’t really have a great view. My downfall was the price of drinks at the bar. I paid $60 for 2 drinks it wasn’t worth it

Manuel at the front desk was the nicest front desk worker I have ever had the please of doing business with. He was knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions. He even helped me with the process of receiving an emergency package I had to have sent to the hotel. The valet parking was incredible, as me and my partner were in a huge rush to make a baseball game when we checked in. They went out of there way to park the car and then retrieve it for us so we could get our bags at a later time.

Not a luxury hotel experience for couples. Took my partner there for her birthday; had spa day confirmed; they called to cancel 15 minutes before the appointment. So called lobby bar/lounge/restaurant very lacking. Nothing special all around. Room was nice.

Nice hotel and good customer service but beware the elevators. The one furthest right was almost to out floor and then made a sudden jolt, loud noise, and wouldn't open for about a minute. Not a very good feeling when 21 stories high. I told the front desk but not sure what happened past that. Hopefully no serious issues and the hotel knows about the problem.

Nicolas and Manuel were superb in their hospitality and service. Hotel location is convenient for those wanting to be around the downtown. Bedding are comfortable, bathroom is a lot better than other Marriott hotels in the area. I tried in room dining and the service was good .. not like other Marriott hotels where they bring you your in room dining in a takeaway bag! My only observation was regarding the room air filter. It was extremely dirty and I only noticed after having 2 sleepless nights due to continuous sneezing. After I asked them to change the filter, air in the room became breathable.

The location is perfect. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Many restaurants and bars close by at walking distance. Overall loved staying here! Can’t wait to visit again.

Great hotel located in the heart of Downtown Houston. With easy access to theaters, Astros games and much more. The decor and room upgrades are outstanding! I would highly recommend staying here no matter what the reason you're in town. The room upgrades are over the top. I give the service and employees a 5-star rating in addition to the hotel decor and ambiance itself.

Stayed here last weekend and it was one of the best experiences I had during the holidays with the kiddos. Customer service was excellent, Samantha was quick with response. Rooms were extremely clean and loved the fact that the location was next to all of downtown attractions! Would definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel. The bar in the lobby is cool. Could have used more amenities like a pool (why is there a picture of a giant Texas shaped pool on their Google Maps listing? I asked and they said they don’t have a pool) and a better fitness center. Also, FYI the bathrooms have little privacy if you are sharing the room with someone who is not your spouse 😐

Titanium Member: Stayed 11/26/22. The hotel is nice, however, it has rats! While having a light snack before dinner at the hotel bar, there was a rather large rat that came running from the kitchen running around the dining room floor. I noticed when I heard a kitchen staff member scream while chasing the rat from the kitchen into the dining room. The kitchen staff as well as several members of the dining room staff were searching under tables and chairs to try and find it but didn’t. Oscar, the manager on duty, was notified but don’t know what he didn’t to deal with the rat problem. I’m now in my room throwing up! How could such nice place be invested with rats. I’m reporting this to the Houston health department and will not stay at this Marriott again.

Assistant manager Michael was outstanding. Helpful and courteous. We drove in early from San Antonio and allowed us to check in with no fuss. The room could have room prepared a bit better but the overall ambiance people and hospitality was a 10. Thank you JW Marriot we will see you soon.

What a great hotel! From check-in to check-out, everything was perfect. The room was modern and impeccable. The Concierge Lounge was very inviting; complete with an eggsalent breakfast. And this hotel has a little hidden gem. A complementary hotel car or should I say limo. Henrique and Logan are behind the wheel of this spanking new Infinity X80 ready to take you around downtown when you need. This was one of my best Marriott stays in years.

My stay here was absolutely amazing! Also had an event here and the staff went above and beyond to make sure every need was met. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very attentive. They also have an in house restaurant with amazing food! Definitely looking forward to our next stay!

Great hotel in a period location for theater or Astros. We had an upgraded room which was VERY NICE, however if you are light sleeper be aware that on the Main Street side of the hotel you can hear the train. We had an issue that computer kept locking us out of the suite each afternoon during our 2-night stay with late checkout. The front desk staff were helpful to resolve, but this should not be happening?
