Coral Sword is a fun coffee shop with tons of board games for a great group outing. The interior is dark but there is natural light by the tables in the front offering a study space as well. Several people were in there quietly working away when I went in just before noon. They offer pastries from Cake and Bacon including a savory jalapeño cheese scone that was incredible. For coffee, I ordered an iced lavender flat white with oat milk (I wanted less milk than a latte) and it was delicious. Definitely up to par for coffee. The barista was super sweet. They also offer an eclectic beer selection and other food items. I was just there for to-go so didn't try everything out. Parking is a little sparse but sometimes that's part of living in a big city. I would definitely come back for board games with friends.

Personally I don’t believe this place deserves the one star reviews. I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It’s a really nice spot to be. Love the option of board games and the ambiance is great. The employees I’ve encountered are so kind as well! The drinks are great especially the lavender lemonade. My favorite thing to eat is the turkey sandwich!

Great atmosphere. Well decorated inside and out with game art on various walls. When you first enter the shop, the left wall is full of games for purchase. Once you make your purchase, you can walk past the cash register to a wall full of games that you can play. They had a good selection of games and the bacon egg and cheese Danish I bought was flaky and tasty. We played Flamecraft. It had many rules and took a while to learn, but once we got it, it was really fun!!

It has a very different vibe which is very refreshing. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Very clean place . The location is offbeat but has an edge .

LGBTQ+ and diversity friendly environment, with great espresso and craft beer fare! Many people come here to play Magic: The Gathering, board games, and DnD/tabletop RPGs. I love this spot. They also have a discord, and I've seen college students offering tutoring to their peers. 🥰

Great coffee shop. Plenty of parking and seating and some outdoor seating as well. Cool interior with games I believe you can buy. Friendly staff. Got an almond latte and it was quite good. Decent pricing as well.

Great find. Definitely worth a revisit. This coffee shop has an eclectic vibe. From the music playing in the background, to the art on the walls, to the diverse customers that give this local dive support. Menu is simple. At the time of this review, no blended drinks were offered. Had a mocha latte. It was solid. Not too sweet and the coffee wasn’t too strong. Well balanced. What I valued about this coffee shop is the space it offers. The outside can be very deceiving. There are multiple rooms and nooks for you to choose from. You’re sure to find the space your looking for. Whether your looking to study, work, or focus on something, there is a space for that. If you want to hear music and be stimulated with more activity, the bar is a good spot to park it. Customer service is far beyond average. Friendly and service oriented. There are literally dozens of board games to play if you want to make it a social outing. There is also some seating outside. Lastly, make sure you have the Shazam app on your phone because I guarantee your going to use it. Nice find. Nothing negative to say at all.

Great little board game cafe with games, entertainment, retail items and events. The decor was on theme, seating was comfortable, multiple outlets and wifi made for a great visit. ♟🎮 ⚔️

Wow, I wish there were more places like this. This place is really special. The decor is very well designed, and well thought out. The coffee and house made dishes are delicious, and the staff are 10/10. The Barista, Ricky, made me one of the best iced lattes I had ever had in my life. I am not exaggerating when I said I've had a lot of coffee, but this one he made was really special. I highly recommend you ask him to make you a special drink, he will not disappoint. Whether you need a place to chill, meet your squad to play games, or a fun spot for a date, Coral Sword is where you wanna be. Do not pass this place up.

Came here due to the high reviews and it was along the way I was coming from. Just needed a place to get some work done for a few hours. The staff is pretty friendly. The cappucino was decent. It got more loud and busy closer to closing time. People mainly come here to play games. They have free cold water. It does get cold in here so if you're like me that gets cold easily, bring a coat.

I'm not sure that I've ever been to a coffee shop and had such consistently amazing beverages made for me by each and every single barista that works there. Coral Sword is a revelation. It's the perfect way to start each day, in my opinion. You get to walk by East End Barber and see the all the cool barbers doing their thing, the amazing mural of Riley Gale, and then you're engulfed in all of the amazing colors of the one and only DUAL. What more could you ask for. I'm honored to spend my money LITERALLY EVERY DAY at this place. Thanks, Coral Sword! P.S. Mac is an absolute earth angel.

Great spot to chill and play games with a cup of coffee! Impeccable vibes! We got the matcha latte and nitro Thai tea which were both excellent!

This is a neat little coffee shop. If you love board games I would definitely suggest you stop by here. I celebrated my birthday here once and it was great. They have a large selection of games. Their drinks are pretty good and they have a few snacks and small meals to eat while you're here. Definitely going to be a regular at this spot

Awesome games, great food & drinks (*highly* recommend the Nitro Thai Tea), and most importantly, wonderful selection of and atmosphere for games. My family and I went for the first time a few weeks ago, and loved it. My sister came to town, and this was one of our musts for her visit. Super chill, super friendly, all in all amazing.

I truly wish I liked this place more, but I don't because of the drinks. For a place to call itself a coffee shop, I don't understand how they can get away with putting so little coffee in their coffee drinks (and I'm not even much of a coffee expert). I got an iced caramel oat milk latte (right in the photo) which really just tasted like iced oat milk - I couldn't taste coffee nor much caramel, and that was $5.95. My boyfriend got an iced coffee with caramel and "a little cream" (pictured left) - I kid you not, it looks like they put in a whole cup of cream. How is it even possible that the latte and iced coffee look exactly the same? Anyway, this place still has a lot of redeeming factors. The atmosphere itself is really nice - cozy, bright, and not too loud which makes it perfect for studying or catching up with a friend. They also have a wide variety of well-maintained board games that customers can play (Catan, Wingspan, Citadels, Takenoko, etc). I might come back just to try out a couple of the board games I may eventually buy, but not for the drinks (maybe I'll buy a pastry).

A great spot to chill, have a good cup of coffee, and play board games (think Catan, SushiGo, Kingdom Builder). There are very few places like this to play in coffee shops, but we really enjoyed it! Didn't love the area it was in and probably wouldn't hang out in that area at night, but overall had a good time.

My daughter loves this place so I decided to meet her here before heading to her place. Í had an idea of what this place was, but it was way more than I had imagined. Every board game you can think of to play with your friends and/or your kids. My iced mocha was delicious and the staff was very kind and helpful. We had my darling grandson with us and they made us feel super comfortable. I know my daughter and son-in-law will be back because they drive an hour each way just to get coffee and hang out or study. I'm sure I'll be asked to join them which I will gladly do anytime!

Visited for the first time this weekend. Such a neat little spot. And in East End! Not much else around, but I’m sure it’ll happen soon. Great beer selection. Lots of fun games from which to choose. And a whole video game lair with live streaming! Very cool. Staff was incredibly nice, and helpful with beer recs. Will have to go back and try the coffee.

I go here for board game nights. Service is always excellent. Favorite things to order are the cold brew and the piping hot mozzarella sticks. I like how they have sake in a juice box! Very chill place to hang out and play games all night.

Coral Sword is a rare treat. I am not in downtown too terribly often, but I love to make a stop here whenever I can every few weeks. The coffee is great, the staff are literally ALL friendly, the vibe is relaxed, and who the hell doesn't love the social gathering aspect of playing MTG, board games, and just hanging out. I highly recommend it.

This is definitely the place to stop if you're a fan of playing board games, cards games, really games in general. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed, the food and drinks are bomb, but the real kicker is the service. Patricia helped me and made my entire day with her positive attitude. You can tell she enjoys what she does and makes the customers enjoy this spot that much more. 10/10 would go again.

My favorite game shop and coffee shop in town. Coffee and tea options are excellent with everything made in house including the syrups and tea blends. There’s always people to play boardgames or card games with and the regulars are very welcoming. Staff is great too and go out of their way to help you out. Starting to feel like a second home now!

Amazing cafe with equally amazing staff! Super cozy with superb coffee. If you’re looking for a new place to table top game on a Sunday morning, or you’re looking for a intimate meeting location THIS IS IT!

It was nice surprise. I just happened to go there because my wife wanted a coffee. It's not really in a fancy neighborhood so was skeptical first. Went in there, turns out I really liked it. They have lots of board games for which I guess many people come. The only issue could be parking if there are many people.

From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee filled the air, instantly putting a smile on my face. My latte was rich, bold, and incredibly satisfying—crafted with love and care! What truly sets Coral Sword apart is the exceptional service provided by Sandy. His genuine and friendly nature made me feel right at home. He took the time to listen to my preferences and offered valuable recommendations tailored to my taste. Coral Sword's inviting ambiance and Sandy's exceptional service foster a sense of belonging and community. It's a place where coffee lovers can gather, connect, and enjoy their favorite brew in a cozy environment (and play card games, from what I understand). The establishment is a true gem for coffee enthusiasts. With the outstanding coffee, warm atmosphere, and Sandy's unforgettable service, it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression. If you're a coffee lover like me, don't miss the opportunity to visit Coral Sword and let Sandy treat you to an extraordinary coffee journey. He’s the best!

Nice, chill place to hang out and play board games while sipping coffee. Music isn't loud so you can hear your friends talking. Tables are spacious with more than enough room for the biggest of game boards. We will definitely be back.

This is a phenomenal place to visit. For starters the service and quality of goods is excellent. The atmosphere for studying or games is cozy and warm. If you want games to play while you’re there they provide them and allow you to bring your own. On top of that their prices for board games or magic cards/packs is extremely fair. This is the kind of place that you want to succeed and know it will because they just do things right. 10/10

Cool spot! The drinks were great, the food was good as well. I had the mozzarella sticks and an iced chai latte and they were pretty much what I expected. The atmosphere is fantastic! This is definitely a great spot to hang out with friends and play games. Would definitely return in the future!

Will definitely be going back. Recently visited for the first time and the staff was very super friendly and helpful! I had chicken tenders (they were more like popcorn chicken) and some fries and they were decent enough. Overall, the experience and atmosphere were by far the best part and we had fun just being there, snacking, and playing our game. If you haven’t been you’ll definitely enjoy it when you do.
