The place itself is usually very nice! It'a great for walking around, and Hermann Park and the Japanese Garden are right by so you can visit. There are very little homeless and if there are any they don't bother anyone. The Pioneer Memorial Obelisk has some interesting history but I won't be coming anymore just to visit the obelisk since the meaning behind it is not the best.

Nice place, you can see few benches on both sides of the Jones Reflection Pool. Very relaxing and beautiful. The Pioneer Memorial granite obelisk, honors the early pioneers who founded Houston. The monument was placed in Hermann Park in 1936 to celebrate the centennial of Texas Independence. Location has a dedicated 3-hr parking area but it will fill up very quickly. Park has few restrooms and drinking water fountains.

I never took the time to actually walk the entire park when downtown. It was truly relaxing to get out during the middle of the week and early afternoon. Sultry, poetic vibes were in effect.

Nice place to relax with family and children from all city hustle and bustle, with a nice jogging track along the water.. with beautiful oak trees in surroundings and fountain's. One can also enjoy peddle boating and fishing in the lake, you can also enjoy some wild squirrel playing arround the oak and Pam trees and children can enjoy beautiful species of ducks.

Located on the north side of Hermann Park, is a good landmark for a meeting spot. It's near the reflecting pool and pond so it has lots of foot traffic around.
