Loved this trail. Probably because it rained last nite and it was 73⁰ early in the morning! Quite a reprieve from the summer heat. Diverse areas, butterfly garden, marshland, meadow. Paved pathways. Many birds and flora. Lots of turtles too! Easy for strollers and wheelchairs. Covered picnic area.

I loved this park! I do roughly about a 4 mile walk every morning along with my 3 little companions. It’s safe but I still make sure that I have protection because you’ll never know.

Large park with walking trails and diverse population of plants and insects. Deep in the forest kinda feeling except planes fly above from time to time. Shade from mature trees makes the summer heat disappear.

Lovely place to come walk. There are several trails, my favorite is walking through the mini swamps and the wooded areas. Its very shaded (unless you go through the butterfly area / wild flowers), so its very doable for Texas weather. I also noticed I didn't get bitten by mosquitos so that is a huge plus. Everything is paved which is what I love so its not too wild. There are lots of nature and a swamp, so I would watch little people closely so they don't fall. The only downside is as other say. There is no public restroom.

The pictures really don't do it justice! Swampy wonderland with lots of wildlife, concrete pathways, a handful of places to rest, and full of "wow look at this!" moments had by myself and young children. Also dog friendly with lots of places to throw away waste.

Love this park, great nature trails. Not a huge park but it's still nice to walk around or have a picnic

I came to Houston (from San Antonio) to visit my daughter and grandbaby and needed to find a spot to log a couple of miles and... Wow! I stumbled across Ponderosa Park, and it was simply amazing! Easy trails, lots of shade, and water ponds surrounded by Bald Cypress and Palmetto Palms. Whether you live in the local area or are here visiting, do yourself a favor and come explore this beautiful space.

Had a blast looking for the Alligator Princess (to no avail). Lots of friendly fisherman, joggers, trail walkers, and dogs on leashes. Not too big and not too small. My 4 year old walked the whole park, toddler was in the stroller, will definitely be going back.

The park is kind of a hidden gem, not too busy, and lots of trails to walk around and enjoy nature. The waterways are full of turtles swimming everywhere, which was really fun to see how they all come swimming up to greet you when standing along the decks and platforms throughout the park.

Very nice walking nature park. There is a large pond with turtles and fish as well as dock areas. There is also a wildflower meadow and butterfly garden. Definitely check it out in the spring/summer

Nice paved path in the trees around some ponds with a ton of turtles, squirls, birds, and butterflies. 1.5 miles of trails if you do all of the loops.

I grew up in Ponderosa Forest but this park was not built until after I grew up and moved away. My mom still lives in the area and so our family visits every holiday season to enjoy the park and take family pictures. This park is beautiful and very peaceful. The walking trails wind throughout the park and provide lots of scenic opportunities for taking pictures and enjoying nature.

It is very nice place to walk and have fun with your kids, however it has so much mosquitoes. You need to be prepared before you go there. Walking trails are good and it has some bridges to see around.

This is an amazing hidden gem! Beautiful, well-maintained park with a variety of ecosystems represented. Lots of fun watching all of the wildlife at the pond and swamp. A nice place to walk our dog too!

Typical park with some walking trails. No associated dog park and no playground equipment. A few benches here and there but atleast well maintained.

Parking is very limited, a lot of people here don't obey the leash laws but other than that it's a great trail. No bathrooms

Great park to give you the feeling like you are far away from the bustling FM 1960 and Kuykendahl. The landscaping idea is a mix of sidewalk, bridges, and unpaved nature preserves.
