By the sweet gods of vegan and Chinese food, this may be my #1 favorite vegan place in Houston. For context, I’ve been vegan for 6.5 years and was raised in Houston, and I’ve been going to this place ever since I became vegan and it’s stayed consistently delicious. The food here is so outrageously good and you can eat as much as you like that you end up in your car having to take a breather (or nap like how my bf has) before you drive home. The owner is so nice and friendly and he actually recognizes me when I come in (shows how often I’ve come in). Tonight, I arrived an hour before they closed and there wasn’t much left of the buffet, but they gave me everything they had AND made me food off their menu no problem. So listen here, this place is so good, my selfish a** wouldn’t even tell people about it for a hot minute, but I’m moving and I need- no, REQUIRE you to support this beautiful establishment because they deserve it and I want to be able to come back here in the future.

Pine Forest Garden is a hidden gem 💎 it was our first time here , we were coming 45 mins before the restaurant closed. We were excited about to try their all you can eat buffet, there are lots of food options here. The owner was very nice and welcoming and concerned about if the food is not enough for us. Hence he went into to kitchen and made us more fresh dishes . We were so surprised by his hospitality. We really like this restaurant and really enjoyed the food here.

My family has been coming here for many years. The food is delicious! We always leave stuffed but without the gross feeling one gets from eating richer food. The buffet has recently been downsized a bit due to reduced customer traffic since COVID, but the quality is still outstanding. Ate there today and would go back just for the crispy, juicy batter-fried mushrooms! The fried rice was wonderfully seasoned, the green beans were fresh and perfect, the meatballs were delicious, and a sweet and sour dish I hadn't had before was a delightful mix of crispy and sweet. Update 11/15/2022. I noticed today that the buffet is back to full scale, including the sushi rolls and desserts. Please support this place. They make my stomach very happy every time I go! mmmmm...

Best Chinese Vegan buffet I have been to. Many variety of choices and everything was vegan. All the foods were very flavorful and fresh foods were being made and brought out constantly. Will definitely visit again when I am in Houston. Couple of the staff did not speak English so it took a while to confirm if everything at the buffet or vegan or not. Manager or Owner was friendly

INCREDIBLE!!! :) WHAT A DIVERSE BUFFET! Everything you can taste of over 30 items is fresh, incredibly pleasing, and well prepared. The owner was super friendly and took the time to explain each of the foods on the buffet and suggested combinations. We must have tried only 14 items, but...Wow. Bursting with flavor. This Asian vegan restaurant has something for everyone in this warm and friendly atmosphere. Great prices, too. 10.50 for this lunch buffet.

Second visit. I really wanted to like it, but the owner is very biased toward men. She serves them, offers them plates not on the buffet, and completely ignored the 3 tables of women except to repeatedly ask if you are done over and over. Water was never refilled. Additionally, we were overcharged. We were charged the weekend price on a Wednesday. The food was so salty that in most cases, it was not edible. We left and went somewhere else to eat to finish our dinner. We won't be back.

Will be going back! Loved so much of what I tried and I didn't even get close to trying it all! Thanks for creating a restaurant as this! Keep up the great work!

I'd skip it, we were not impressed at all. We went for lunch here on the suggestion of a Houston Chronicle article about the best buffets in Houston and this restaurant fell very short of expectations. The food looked nothing like the pictures here. Not a vegetable roll in sight. The basic vegetable fried rice was lacking flavor and vegetables except what appeared to be frozen mixed peas and carrots. Other items were stale and off temperature. None of the food was exceptional. What was exceptional was the price ($15 for a weekday lunch buffet). A reasonable price for the quality of food, presentation, and atmosphere would be $8 or less. I'd suggest going to Hunan Chef on I10, they have plenty of vegetarian friendly options, fresher food, and are less expensive.

I recently moved to Houston from California and found this wonderful small Chinese vegan buffet restaurant. Not only the food is good, but it’s also cruelty-free. Customer service is excellent. The people here are super nice. Makes my dining more enjoyable. Thank you. Highly recommend this place. Support local small own businesses. The orange chicken is my favorite food. Yummy yummy! 😁

I'm obsessed with their vegan orange chicken, it's soooo good. Wish I lived closer to eat it more often!! They have lots of delicious menu options, it's one of my favorite restaurants to visit when back in Houston. The buffet is really nice too. We usually order the jasmine tea to drink as is a perfect (floral) accompaniment to a meal at Pine Forest Garden imo.

This place is soooo good. I am not vegan at all but I would want to become vegan if there are 10 restaurants like this around where I live. Sadly there's none.

This place feels like a bit of hyped up, over priced and over valued. This is no way close to Chinese, I have had Chinese in many vegan Chinese restaurants and this place is the blandest Chinese food I’ve ever had. At a point I really couldn’t distinguish taste from one dish to another, it was the texture. And the ambiance was not very welcoming. The only dishes I enjoyed was vegan sweet and the fresh made soy milk and the dumplings. Others all were cold, tasteless and not delicious. I wish they could improve

I don’t get the hype. I’ve been wanting to try this place for years and it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Seating is just weird, all tables are at a very close proximity so it feels like you have people breathing down your neck as you eat. The food presentation was sad, cold and flavorless. It looks like they hadn’t bother refilling any of the buffet so we ate cold leftovers. Was disappointed to see that they had regular spaghetti as an option. Lunch for two people and 2 canned sprites came out to be about $40… I could eat better elsewhere at this price.

It's kinda expensive for lunch, but oh so pleasing to my taste buds! I'm not a vegetarian, but enjoy a break from heavy meats every so often. I started with a small selection on my plate and went back a couple of times to try different dishes. Went with friends and asked each other if they liked certain dishes before trying them. Filled up before I could try all the delicious items I wanted. Because the food was so easy on the tummy, I splurged on desserts! Will return to taste more yummy dishes.

A great variety and lots of flavor in the food, even if you’re not used to some of these flavors being vegan. I did find it confusing that they have Vegetarian written everywhere but I decided to trust the “100% Vegan Buffett” window decal outside. For $13-14 at a Buffett is good to me, and the food is not a typical western palette, but it’s refreshing to eat vegan that’s not your typical “beyond/impossible” incorporated meats. Amazing tofu, vegan chicken, desserts were good! I would just say the greens were a bit too bitter. But if you’re the type of vegan who doesn’t like to still feel hungry after eating, try this place out! Again some different flavors if your palette is very American/western, adjustment might be needed, still VERY good and was VERY satisfied.

This is my second time eating the dinner menu and I love it! The staff is very friendly, the owner is super sweet, and the food is delicious. I love coming here without having to worry about cross contamination between vegan and non-vegan food! There is a nice variety to choose from! Also, it’s budget friendly - as other vegan food options can be very pricey for one item!

Hands down the best restaurant I’ve ever been to! Me and my girlfriend have been coming here for years. The food is phenomenal and the service is top tier! Every single time we go in there we are met with such warm and nice customer service! My favorite is the vegan chicken and if the buffet is ever out they go out of their way to offer to make more every single time! It feels like a family there. We’ve even celebrated birthdays here. This will always be our go-to.

Their vegetarian buffet has high quality with reasonable price. Several days ago, mu wife and I went there with two friends of ours, and we all loved having lunch there. I would like to highly recommend this restaurant to those who are vegetarians or plan to give vegetarisn food s try.

It was a wonderful experience. I was a little close to the closing time when i entered. They were only a few dishes in the buffet area. So the owner came up to us and told us he could prepare us new dishes since there were only few there at the buffet .

The staff is amazing! The food is so delicious! The desserts are spectacular. Hands down my favorite vegan buffet in Houston. Thank you for making my dairy allergy a blessing since I get to eat food like this!

Love this place! A little modest on the inside, but the food is good. But what I came here for is to ask someone PLEASE teach me to make that steamed tofu in green sauce! I’ve been craving it but since I got sick and have to stay home, I can not go and eat it 😭😭😭

I loved how the food was unique in shape and color and taste. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the persons running the restaurant were very kind. This for me was a great experience. If you like to try new things and you want to delv more into the vegetarian restaurant scene then this establishment is a good start. Hope you enjoy!!

They have good options. Their mock beef was quite realistic. I enjoyed their fried rice and veggie slider, especially.
