Went there in the evening. We ordered Masala Dosa and Dahi Puri. The food was good. But I didn't like the mint chutney. It had crushed coconut in the chutney, I don’t know why. The Dahi puri was really delicious. But the main problem with the restaurant is the service. Their service is the worst I have ever experienced. We had to wait STANDING for almost 25 minutes just to order and then the wait for the food. Had to go to the register twice to check out if our food is done or not. Even the tables are not cleaned properly. It felt they don’t have enough service providers. Please hire some more people for the service. Just only 1 person taking the shop order, online order, phone order and after that the same person giving the food to the customer, that is really weird. The food is good, but because of the customer service, I am giving such low ratings.

Not the same as it use to be. Now behind the counter folks are rude despite giving wrong food several times. And most of the time there is a lot of wait time just get bad quality food. Customer service and food quality as taken a nose dive. Drove 45 minutes just to find out they gave wrong plain dosa instead of what we ordered (Surati Mysore Masala Dosa) and that too severely undercooked, picture attached. Most likely never returning back, we forgot Udipi is an excellent option in Sugar Land + Hillcroft.

I have been here a few times now but I have to say that each time I feel less to go there. I kind of liked the first time I went there. Second time, I got a steel nut from the chole and showed it to them. They acted like nothing happened and just replaced my food without considering the health risk it could have been. I see a lot of people liked their vada pav or pav bhaji. I have the opposite experience. I feel that they use the hamburger buns probably bought from Walmart for making these. It's not at all authentic pav bread. Regarding my latest visit, I think it's high time they replaced the plates. It's kind of old and very dirty especially on the edges. Dosa and sambar was good, but poori bhaji and chili pakoda was kind of average. Overall not 9ne of the best places in Houston to have Indian food.

The food is decent. The price is reasonable too. But the experience is just mediocre. Two things I don't like about the restaurant is waiting in line to place order and they call number to pickup order which is very inconvenient as you have to get up while you are having a nice lunch or dinner with family. If you are the host, you are always on the lookout for when your number is called. They could implement a barcode based order system that could avoid big lines. Good restaurant to try if you are a vegetarian.

Great food great prices! Thats all I can say. Went with family couple of months ago. Definitely had a long line and wait time bit totally worth it. All cravings satisfied! Every dish was flavorful and to the point. Service was definitely slow and a bit unorganised but as long as the food was good. Ps- this was our 1st time trying. Pss- check out the pictures ,everything is amazing!

One of the best Indian vegetarian restaurants in the USA. Taste is simply amazing. The quality and quantity is good and for that you have to wait to order and for your food. I’ll definitely go back to the restaurant when I next visit my son.

Definitely a good place for Gujarati food. They just don't have Gujarati food but lots of other options. The food quality is really good and tastes really good. Even at 11 when they open there is a line. I would definitely recommend this place.

Pls do try their Veg Manchurian and medo vada followed with coconut sauce you will love it.. Just one request..kindly train your staff that if someone come to your place first time pls help them with the menu and be attentive. Edit: so I came here after 1 month again to give another try but unfortunately the service is still same, the lady at counter is very RUDE but I told her that this is my last visit in your restaurant, the only reason I came back here just because of their food which is no doubt delicious but with this attitude they are loosing customers..

Had worst experience with service as well as food. All food items are stale and couldn’t eat fully. Eve though ambience is good, they have to improvise the food quality.

The dahi puri and papri chaat were great. The Mysore masala dosa was good. A very busy location when I visited the establishment. The salt lassi was something new to try out for me. It’s a very self service oriented restaurant. They call your table number when the order is ready and you have to go pick it up from the counter. The water and utensils are available for you and your party to fetch and bring to your table. Overall, our items were good (especially the chaat menu items)

One of the best restaurants in Houston. Nice place they have only self service option they announced table number when your order is ready. If you have cravings for Indian food must visit this place. Quality and Quantity both are so good. They have so many options and they also have Jain options.

This review is based on my first and probably the last visit to this place. We tried Ragdapatis, Chole Bhature, and Mix Pakora. FOOD 😐 The mix Pakora dish with chutney, unfortunately, was a pretty mediocre experience. Pakora didn't have much taste in them, and the chutney was disappointing. It was much too thin and lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. The texture was watery and didn't provide the satisfying contrast to the pakoras that I was hoping for. Overall, the dish was just okay, nothing too special or exciting, and the lackluster chutney brought the whole experience down a notch. Ragdapati's Patis dish was an absolute delight for anyone who loves Indian street food. This dish was a heavenly combination of ragda, which is made in a spicy gravy, and crispy deep-fried patties made from mashed potatoes. The dish is then topped with sweet and tangy chutneys, finely chopped onions, and fresh coriander leaves, which add a burst of freshness to the dish. The patties were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, while the ragda was flavorful and spicy, with just the right amount of heat. The combination of all the ingredients resulted in a perfect balance of flavors and textures. While the Chole Bhature wasn't terrible, it was definitely a mediocre experience. The Chole, which is made from chickpeas cooked in a spicy gravy, lacked the depth and complexity of flavors that I was expecting. The Bhature, which is a deep-fried bread, was decent, but not as fluffy and flavorful as I have had at other places. Overall, the dish was just okay, nothing too special or memorable, and I felt that it could have been improved with more attention to the seasoning and preparation. CUSOTMER SERVICES 🤫 When I approached the ordering counter, the lady provided me with information on vegan options, which I appreciated. However, I was disappointed with the level of attention paid to my specific food requirements, as she seemed more focused on rushing me through the ordering process. While I understand that there were people waiting in line behind me, I felt that the overall experience was rushed and impersonal. As a result, I felt unsatisfied and unlikely to return to the restaurant in the future. GOOD STUFF ☺️ - The size of the restaurant is big enough to accommodate more people - The tables are placed at good distance and didn't feel crowded

Food was good, Lots and lots of Indian dishes to choose from. Its in a great location, you can have lunch and also do your Indian grocery shopping at Subalakshmi in the same complex. The day we went, the restaurant had switched off their AC when it was 100F outside, so it was very uncomfortable eating hot food in a non ventilated restaurant. Service is quick and friendly, they know how to handle large crowd.

Made a quick stop here while we were in houston. Ordered Dahi Puri and Bread Pakoda. You have to order and pick a table and get seated! Food took forever to be served. People who ordered dosa after us was served/picked up before us. We had to ask twice for our food. Bright side of this is that food is very fresh! Pakora and Dahi puri tasted very good!
