What a pleasant experience. Had the #45 shareable plate. Feed three people and we were stuffed! Their honey wine was delicious and fairly priced! Definitely looking forward to coming back. Thank you Blue Nile.

Wow an Ethiopian restaurant with white table cloths for lunch even. Wonderful authentic food and a beautiful ambience inside. Love the staff who never laughed at my few words of Amharic that were really helpful and kind. We got beef and chicken and vegetables on Indira. This great combination served 3 people perfectly. Good space for parking outside. We just walked in no problem at 12 Tuesday but they are also open for reservations and both dine-in and takeout options are available at The Blue Nile.

๐Ÿ“Œ An exceptional experience. I have never tried Ethiopian cuisine. Many dishes taste a little bit sour. The sourness is the sour taste of fermentation. ๐Ÿ“ŒOverall, if you like to try different types of cuisine from other countries, I suggest you come here for a meal.

Awesome food and really nice different place. We had the Veg platter with Chicken to share and some cocktails. All very good. Finished off with some Pistachio cake! We will for sure be back!

To get a taste of authentic African food this is one of the many restaurants in Houston that you may enjoy. Try the beef curry with freshly made injera and a side salad. If you enjoy lamb then the stewed lamb chops is an excellent choice. Be sure to try the honey wine. Warning, if you are sensitive to smoke or strong smells then you should keep in mind that they do roast genuine coffee beans here for Ethiopian coffee.

It was my first time trying African food and I loved it! I had the vegetarian sampler. Everything I tried was very flavorful and well seasoned. The atmosphere was inviting and the wait staff was very hospitable. My favorites were the cabbage and the Ethiopian honey wine. I plan to go back very soon.

The ambience of the restaurant was nice and felt authentic. The staff was kind and friendly. They also had a bunch of vegetarian options which was a plus. The food was great and we ended our meal with a delicious pistachio cake!

had never before eaten in an Ethiopian restaurant. The vegetarian combo, coffee, tea, chicken tibs, and grilled chicken were all delicious. You receive a lot of the tasty Ingera bread. The staff was friendly and accommodating to changes and recommendations. When it's crowded, the parking spot can fill up quickly. enjoyed the atmosphere. The menu is a little expensive, and the table was too small for our group of four even after we requested a larger one. Despite being advised there might be reservations, no one entered the restaurant when we were there. Overall a good experience.

Blue Nile is definitely a step out of the norm for most people, but if you like a little bit of spice and flavor in your life, you need to try it. My wife and I have usually gotten the Kitfo and Vegetarian Combination done family style. It's a spicy pile of food that will leave you stuffed and satisfied.

Great authentic etiopian place with vegetarian and vegan options. They vegetarian combo is delicious, highly recommend. Service is pretty good and they can accommodate large groups if you reserve in advance. The restaurant has a small parking lot with limited spots but there is also available parking across the street. I do recommend checking this place out!

One of the prettiest and best Ethiopian restaurants Iโ€™ve ever seen. Service is super nice and the vegetarian combo is awesome. The only thing is that the whole menu is a little bit pricey but worth it.

Pretty cool little spot for Ethiopian food, large portion where multiple people can eat off one plate community style. I'm not Ethiopian and don't remember the actual name of the dish, but it was essentially several types of beef prepared in various ways, served with plenty of injera (rolled tortilla like bread). We also tried the honey wine which was great and not a bad bargain grabbing a bottle for 2 people to split. For all the food and the bottle of honey wine, bill was about $100 for 2 people with plenty of food taken home for leftovers the next day.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the food was okay. The cherry on top was when we paid $4 for a tiny piece of baklava to go. Letโ€™s just say you can get 8x the amount of baklava for the same price and for better quality at Whole Foods. I didnโ€™t open the to go box till I got home, what a joke when I opened that up ๐Ÿซ

I tried this restaurant with my foodie group. We were a group of 9. We arrived when the restaurant first opened. We were the only ones there. The restaurant was clean, and the servers were friendly. The restaurant is cute. It is decorated with traditional Ethiopian decor/items. 6 of us ordered the family platter, which serves 4-6 people. There was plenty for us all to try. The food was good. It was flavorful. We went in blindly as the server didn't tell us what we were eating and disappeared right after serving. After lunch, we ordered coffee, tea, and pistachio cake. The cake was light and had a nice almond type cream incorporated with the pistachio flavor. The cake portion was a little dry. The food was served with a sponge bread that reminded us of sourdough bread. We enjoyed eating this with our food. Our experience was enjoyable.

Ordered delivery. Everything that came with the vegetarian combination was delicious. The injera was fresh and just right. I like chickpeas, but the Shimbera Assa VWot (close up photo attached) was very dry inside and I didn't really enjoy it, but maybe that's traditional? The desserts were overpriced at $7 for the cake and $8 for the baklava in the picture, but the food itself was a pretty good value.

I have brought everyone to this place and they have loved it. Since they have moved the service isn't the same. I don't enjoy the food like I use to. Prices went up way higher. It's much bigger than the other location tho. It's nice.

I like the food here. This is the only Ethiopian I have been to, so cannot compare. The food is fresh and the people serving are very warm and friendly. My only concern is the long wait time to get the food. If you do not want to wait long, I suggest ordering in advance.

Good Ethiopian food available in a few locations in Houston. We got the vegetarian sampler dish, doro wat, and Blue Nile special tibs (lamb). It was all delicious, but the lamb was a little overcooked. The spice level was decent, but nothing overpowering by any means. I was hoping for more heat. The drink menu was ok, but the specialty drinks were all way too sweet for our taste. The place was relatively empty at fist, but even as they got busier, our service was great. The location off of Alabama is interesting. It seems like a house that was converted to an open layout. Decor was nice. Incense and soft music created a nice ambiance.

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food, only because my friend took me per my request. This place had just opened for lunch so it was only a few of us. I was able to get a good glance at everyone's food and every single dish looked very appetizing. The food (don't ask me about the names, lol) was very flavorful and just the right amount of heat and spices, and the assortment of vegetables, meat and lentils was perfect. This food is very close to Mediterranean food so it was a very familiar taste and experience. Overall - I would definitely go again and try the Lamb next time!

Absolutely, 100% the best Ethiopian we've had since our favorite place in Toronto closed 6+ years ago. Nice setting, lovely service, and the flavours are vibrant & spot on. Coffee was delicious too. We could not have asked for a better dinner experience!

Gluten free injera always available is very important and they make the vegetarian combo vegan style no butter used. My favorite Ethiopian spot in Houston!
