Captures the true beauty of nature! Usually we see zoo, aquariums, man made environments but this place is more than all of that. The fact that this place is used for actual research is stunning. The whole place is well maintained and is very entertaining. I love how the animals, birds and plants are not caged and it's truly like walking into their habitat than creating something artificial. The aquarium is what you expect but the rain forest experience was phenomenal. The discovery pyramid was closed when I visited but still was able to experience that 3D and 4D theatre there. This place is really amazing for kids. I would suggest better items in the gift shop though , would love to have all the 3 pyramids on a stand or something like that. I wasn't quite impressed with the gift shop but then probably that's the case, they are open to research and learning rather than making money out of their gift shop. The parking space is really spacious and all the pyramids are at a walking distance. Definitely a site to visit!

This place is a must see! 🙌 The Rain Forrest is so Stunning as well as the Aquarium. Was disappointed they didn't have the boat going! It was a great day! Possibly too many waves. They had a dinosaur exhibit and the kids enjoyed it. The movie theater was big and comfortable. Must try this place at least once. We loved it. Worth the money we spent!

The aquarium & rain forest at Moody were a fantastic break from the rain. We had a great day exploring. Sharks swam over our heads & we got up close & personal with the bats. The 4D movie was so cool.

This place was truly beautiful. I got to see so many cool things and animals. I definitely recommend getting the value pass so you can see the aquarium and the rain forest plus the 3D and 4D movies. Take your time when going through it. There are so many things to see. I recommend getting there as early as possible to beat the crowds and be able to get all the pictures you want. Great place!! Be warned the rain forest is really hot on the top floor (heat rises) but they have plenty of ac vents to cool you down. Once you get to the bottom it’s nice. Go slow, so many beautiful birds in the trees, bats and awesome critters.

It’s unfathomable how Moody Gardens Galveston Texas has a 4.4 Google Review rating at the time of writing this. Our family had been talking about re-visiting Moody Gardens since last summer when we passed it on the way to the beach. Although it didn’t knock anyone’s socks off the last time we visited, 20 years ago, we thought it might be fun for some of the children and adults, and perhaps there would be newer and better things to experience. The prices for entry were pretty steep, but we decided to purchase the “Value Pass” for everyone in our group since we had planned to spend the whole day there and wanted to get our money’s worth (06/2023). At $80 per adult and $70 per kid, we felt like we had been swindled by the end of our 4.5 hour visit (arriving when the doors opened). To keep it short, the good things about our visit were that the rain forest area was still very pretty and entertaining, the aquarium pyramid was okay, and a handful of the staff was nice. The negative things: 1) The pyramids, though breathtaking from afar, are in need of a lot of TLC; they are dirty, rusting, and visually unappealing as you approach each one. 2) A lot of attractions that should have had animals, or sea life, in them were empty with signage claiming that the exhibit was under repair, or that the animal was being kept somewhere behind the scenes for random reasons. 3) Displays and exhibits are literally falling apart everywhere. In the shark museum, there are displays that were falling apart inside their glass protection (that’s just pure laziness concerning maintenance). A lot of the exhibits look like they were put together as cheaply as possible, and other exhibits were broken from wear-and-tear by visitors. Most exhibits look very dated and you can see the black duct tape coming off of displays that Moody Gardens used to hold the exhibits together. 3) The movies were so boring that three adults in our party alone fell asleep. The kids were disappointed with the movies as well and they are usually happy watching anything. 4) Unlike our visit 20 years ago, all of the pyramids are roped off in such a way as to force you to take certain laid out paths. Before, you were able to freely roam the exhibits like most museums. You could easily go under the ropes, but why? We’re sure it was done to get people to visit areas they might have otherwise missed, but this could have been done with better signage. 5) Certain areas that used to be available were closed off. There’s an observation deck that overlooks Offatts Bayou that was blocked off by a wooden bench and no explanation. 6) There was a dinosaur exhibit thrown together under a large tent that was included with the Pass but the majority of the displays looked like they were still being painted and worked on. Most of the dinosaur's eyes were not painted yet. We wanted to ride the paddleboat, which was also included with the Pass, but nobody in the group wanted to wait another 45+ minutes for the boat to take off again and then be stuck on the water for the 50+ minute ride if it was as boring as the rest of the visit had been. In all, we spent over half a grand for less than 5 hours' worth of “blah” memories. For the same amount of money, we could have bought season passes to a handful of waterparks, theme parks, the zoo, or who knows what else. We would have given a 1-star rating but since one of the kids enjoyed it enough to say they wouldn’t mind visiting it again someday, there must have been a little entertainment in there somewhere.

A beautiful place to visit. My son and I enjoyed seeing all of the animals and plants. We loved the penguins. They were so playful and cute. Will definitely visit again.

Our family's first time staying here as we usually stay at another chain where we earn and use our hotel points. However, I was attending an event at the conference center there, so we decided to try it. Upon check-in, we were greeted pleasantly. Front desk receptionists were polite and friendly. We got to our room to find it was handicap accessible so they layout was funky. We called front desk and they said we requested it and as I was the one who booked it I knew I had not....no problem they changed our room. We ended up in bigger room but upon arriving in the room we realized the floor hadn't been vacuumed. There were food crumbs, a drink bottle wrapper, and lint all over the floor. No biggie we kept our shoes on and dealt with it. We went on the balcony and peering back into the room there was a dead cockroach in the window sill. 🤢 You can tell the hotel is old but somewhat updated. During the night our AC unit went haywire and made horrific noises that awoke us. I barely got any sleep. I recorded some of the noise and at checkout I informed the front desk but she only replied she would have maintenance check it. No I'm sorry, no compensation. My 9 yr old complained all day from being tired. Very frustrating day dealing with an exhausted, unconsoleable child. That being said, the grounds are great, offers so much to do. We had a pizza and ice cream from their shop and it was excellent. Indoor pool was freezing, but outdoor pool offers a lot for the guests. great swim up pool bar. They are installing ice land for winter months. It looks very fun. We will consider going but not sure we will stay at the hotel again. For the price we paid, not a good room at all. Also, the room keys are paper, yet you need it to enter pool and get back in your room, not realistic at all. I don't think I've ever had a paper key before.

A bit crowded all things considered. A wonderful experience non the less for all ages. A great way to take a break from the beach. An unforgettable underwater adventure different for everyone just waiting to be had. 3 story aquariums, seals and penguins, jelly fish galore. Too many fish to name! Takes about 1.5 to 2hrs depending on your stroll. Food court and a pretty cool gift shop located at the end.

My husband and I came to Galveston for our honeymoon and have had Moody Gardens on the list to do basically since we booked the trip. Let me say, it did not disappoint! We absolutely loved the pyramids. The rainforest was so different and interesting, and we got to pet stingrays in the aquarium. There was a worker by the name of Linda there, and she made our visit. She told us all about so many different animals and creatures in the pyramids and was so friendly. Glad we ran into her when we first started our tour and got to see her multiple times throughout the day. Highly recommend checking these awesome pyramids out!

Awesome place to take the family. There are some things that are closed down inside of Moody Gardens due to Covid, but that didn't matter to us. We were still able to see so many amazing things! It was an absolute joy to see and my family loved every minute of it! Make sure to go see the 4D shows.

We went with 5 people, one toddler who had free admission 3 adults and a 7 yo. It is not cheap 70$ adults and 60 for kids, but it is a whole day and to us it was worth it. We love the jungle and the aquarium. It was our second time and we will come back!

Staying Houston for more than ten years but never got a Chance to visit Moody Gardens. Finally this holiday season we booked the Moody garden resort with the pyramid passes and it was absolute FUN. The resort is really good, well maintained. We didn’t try their room service so no idea about that but staff at the reception and at the restaurant down stairs were friendly. We were there with group of friends so we had a blast at the pool (indoor and outdoor). The rainforest pyramid is fantastic, a must go. The aquarium pyramid was good too. Didn’t like the 3D/4D shows as much. Discovery pyramid was okay.. We also did the holiday lights trail which was okay, didn’t have very many themes. If we decide to go back we will try it in summer and mostly will go for a day because everything that needs to see can be covered in a day.

This was such a cool place! We did the zip line, rope course and went to the rainforest and aquarium! All neat places. The water part wasn't up for season yet, but we spent all day doing the other things. There were butterflies and beautiful flowers/plants at the steps and parking. The food court was nice with multiple options including a restaurant with buffet. I would definitely reccomend for families.

No amount of photos can do this place justice. On my Galveston vacation, I constantly saw the three pyramids looming on the horizon across the bay and I just kept thinking "I don't care how much it costs, I am going to go there." Holy moly, it did cost quite a pretty penny, BUT it's an all day experience. The first pyramid housed land animals; lots of cool looking birds and a big colony of fruit bats. Some of the birds were allowed to free roam, so we sat and watched them for a while. It's absolutely gorgeous inside, with a walk through the "rainforest" that was visually impressive. The second pyramid was an aquarium, with just about everything you can think of. I was just amazed by how much they could fit in there. The third pyramid was the museum of sound. They had a bunch of different instruments and equipment demonstrating how sound waves travel. It was very interactive and we spent a lot of time in there. I do know there is a ferry ride they offer during the summer months, but it wasn't in operation when we were there. All in all, I felt I more than got my money's worth and I left feeling so grateful I decided to go!

Fantastic place! The price was worth it. We used our military discount at the gate. It's worth buying the full pass, it pays for itself just by seeing 1 attraction. However, I think the museum needs more to see.

Very enjoyable lots of animals to see, well spaced out and the flow is excellent not too many spots where a lot of people bottleneck. Really enjoyed the penguins, seals/sea lions which were being fed at the time and in general just the leisurely pace to the exhibit. None of the animals seemed stressed which i always look for. Also enjoyed the look behind the scenes with the water testing exhibit and in general the folks who are there to provide additional information throughout. Well worth the money!

We were super excited about this place and it was pretty cool. We saw the rainforest which was probably the least underwhelming. We did t see many animals at all. Not sure if that's normal but we weren't there very long at all. We also saw the aquarium which was nice! We all enjoyed that. Next we saw Ice Land which was super cool and COLD! they do give you a parka, but being gloves and a hat or scarf. If you plan to go down the ice slide, you definitely need snow gloves! Lastly, we did the festival of lights which was definitely worth it. The kids enjoyed the slide! There were lights and concessions all over the place! It was a nice holiday outing for families

Moody gardens is definitely worth a look at for sure. I recommend to go at least once! Tons of things to look at and we'll maintained. We went during the week so it was pretty quiet which allowed us to take in everything at our own pace. We did the tickets that include everything even though I feel it's hard to enjoy everything in one day considering everything opens at 10am and closes at 4 pm. There's simply just too much to see and do.

This place is great! It's really good for young children but we enjoyed it as well. A lot of great educational things and amazing animals. The place is kept very clean and friendly staff. Glad we went while on our vacation from Colorado.

Cool place. Did the rainforest and the aquarium. Enjoyed both. A little pricey for how small the attraction is. Roughly 50 bucks per adult for the combo package of those 2 pyramids. Cleanliness is slightly less than average. No mask requirements in place at this time. Food court style food available. Kinda pricey too and not that good. Overall I liked it but it was expensive for what you got and it could had been cleaning needs to be improved.

Nice place to take the family for a few hours on the weekend. My son enjoys the various attractions but seems to gravitate to the aquarium and the rain forest. The staff is normally very helpful and provide educational information when asked. They tend to run the same movies for what seems to be years at a time. Perhaps it's just me but I wish they had a lager variety of educational 3d movies. Overall this is a great place to bring the family.

There is lots to do and you can easily spend the whole day and stay busy. It is expensive so be prepared to pay 6 dollars for a Gatorade or buy the souvenir cup so you can get free refills all day. My kids said it was a 5 star rating but due to the expense and inconvenience of having to show our tickets everywhere we went I'm only doing 4 stars. The movies, dinosaurs and rainforest were our favorite. The discovery museum was smaller then expected. If your kids have never been on a boat the paddle boat is good otherwise you can skip it. We didn't have time for the Waterpark plus it costs a lot extra. You would need 2 days to do everything. I would also skip the buffet it was not worth the 22 dollars. The staff were all very nice and helpful everywhere. There are ramps for strollers and wheelchairs.

Very beautiful place to get away in Houston. I got a room with the pyramid view, which i hear has a better view than the island view rooms. The grounds are pretty, love the palm trees and very serene feel. Went there during a low occupancy period which was even Better. I did the rainforest and aquarium attractions with were great. Will definitely be returning and I recommend this place.

We only had one day to visit the Moody Gardens so we were only able to tour the aquarium and the forest. Moody Gardens is very pretty, clean, and has great view. The parking is free but can be hard to find during a busy time. You'd end up parking very far away and walk. My recommendation is if possible, stay in the hotel resort for a couple of days to experience all that Moody Gardens has to offer.

Worth-it tier: A-. Visits: 1. Very cool. Rainforest pyramid alone was worth the visit. You get to see birds and monkeys roaming freely! Less people on weekdays, so an even better experience for me. However, boat ride was cancelled. Definitely recommend rainforest pyramid.

Extremely nice place with cool things to see. Would of liked some small interactive attractions for toddlers though, like a sandbox or water play area. That would topped everything off.

Wow, didn't expect such a "big city" experience in the small town of Galveston!! We bought the $75 Value Pass and spent the day. Our favorite was the Rainforest Pyramid, followed closely by the Aquarium Pyramid. The three videos we watched were entertaining, and the boat cruise was slow and relaxing. Overall, a great way to spend the day!

Took my family to this hotel this year. Unfortunately, the food hotel restaurant was completely was inedible, and there was only one microwave located in the laundry room near the parking garage. However, the views, pyramids and waterpark for 5 to 12-year-olds were great! It was also nice NOT having a theme in your face like other vacation resorts. We went early in the summer, so the new hires knew nothing about the place, but they tried their best, and I'm happy they had staff.

We went to dinner at Shearn's in the Moody Gardens hotel, and had a really nice dinner until about 8:00 p.m. We then proceeded to the lights which were supposed to be open until 10:00 p.m. with our young children, and were incredibly disappointed. We have been here many years in the past and this is by far the worst year we've ever attended. We paid $25 per person for three of us to enter and had all of the stands shut down at 8:20 p.m. because they were slow, and had all of the fires be shut down, and have many of the lights be shut down as we are walking through, while having a golf cart following us slowly shutting things down as we walked through because they were slow tonight. There were less lights than in the past, and in general if this was our first time here we would never come back. Hopefully Moody gardens fixes all of the problems including having Katy Perry's roar be set to the dancing Christmas trees instead of a Christmas carol, just seems a silly waste. On top of it, they had a bunch of sponsor signs prominently displayed by a bunch of old light displays, which seemed really out of place among the holiday lights and music. To add insult to injury, the lights inside the hotel by the restaurant are gorgeous and we could have spent no money sitting by the bar looking at their very beautiful Christmas displays instead of walking outside with our children looking at very old spaced out lights this year. In conclusion, we'd rather drop hundreds of dollars on the Magical Christmas Lights in Katy or Santa's Wonderland in college station, even if it's a further drive for us. Hopefully something closer does better soon, and hopefully this review saves a family from wasting their money and a drive down to Galveston to see these disappointing lights.

We had an excellent time with my 4 year old and 2 year old sons. The attractions had multiple viewing angles from above water to under water at the same exhibit. My kids loved it and I'd definitely recommend going if you're in the area.

Wow! Super informative, but most of all fun! Great interactions from animals .. but most of all, the staff was so helpful when I lost my brother's ashes (who passed away a month ago) that were located in a locket around my neck today. What a wonderful bunch who were genuinely concerned. We did end up finding it.

It was fun, but I have spent less and seen more. Every exhibit is separate so it was $25 per person, per exhibit.

We really enjoyed our selves. It was a great family outing. The only complaint that I have is that the Dino's in the Dino's Alive exhibit need some TLC. Some are missing fingers, others have rips and some didn't seem to he moving right. Other than that, it was great.

It's a good place to go to spend time with your family but before you buy tickets to go to all the attractions make sure all of them are actually something you can do. We got 4 of the $90 eValue pass to be able to go through all 3 pyramids as well as go on the boat and ended up not being able to go on the boat due to a boat show that was going on. I also don't recommend buying any drinks before going to the rainforest pyramid as you will be told to throw them away even if they are still completely closed and at the bottom of a stroller. We spent close to $20 on 2 bottles of Gatorade and a bottle of water and even though the water bottle and the 1 remaining Gatorade bottle were completely unopened at the bottom of our daughters stroller we were forced to throw them away resulting in us needing to buy our kids new drinks once exiting the rainforest. It also didn't matter that the water bottle was for our daughters formula. Once we entered the rainforest however we saw multiple people and small kids walking through with drinks.

My kids loved walking through the rainforest and aquarium. It took us about two hours to walk through both exhibits. They had self serve kiosks to purchase tickets, which takes a little extra time without a human expert to guide you through the process. The staff we met in each exhibit were extremely knowledgeable amd friendly.

  • 4/5 Suzanne P. 8 months ago on Google
We only went through the aquarium, but we really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful place, well kept. It didn't take us too long to go through, so tickets might be a little expensive relative to that. Employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. We tried buying tickets ahead online but the website wasn't working right so we bought them at the gate.

Great stop if you are looking for something to do in Galveston island. Different attractions to explore. I purchased the value pack. The highlight of the experience was the rainforest and 3D movie 🍿 Africa. A bit pricey. However, the area is taken care of. Friendly staff. I went on a weekday and the environment was easy to navigate. Worth going.

All together this place is a great family outing. Out of everything I would recommend the rainforest. The discovery pyramid was about sharks and it was a huge disappointment. It consisted of some sharks hanging from the ceiling and a bunch of reading. Some stuff is over priced and some stuff is not bad.

Can’t compare it to there aquarium next store because that place was absolutely amazing. But the rainforest was cool too. Sadly there was a lot of construction going on so we could not go to the up stairs exhibit and also the end section of the place had a lot of construction too so nothing to see there either. We didn’t see monkeys or sloths …But there where very beautiful birds to see . The bats where so cool and cute there feeding trays where close to the windows so we could see them very well. The aquarium in the middle of the Forest had such beautiful stingrays they where lovely to watch swim around… I’m sure when they get done remodeling the place it will be very cool . But right now I think there is just too much construction at the moment to fully enjoy it.

It was an awesome experience! I have visited a few aquariums before but this was the best. The only downside is the tickets are really expensive. I wish there was a student discount on offer.

Bought the value pass and am thinking about upgrading to annual pass since we didn’t get to see everything (palm beach/zip line/Dinos). My son had a blast with what he did get to experience. We went on a weekday and arrived around 1pm. Parking was a breeze and there was no wait for anything. I would recommend getting there earlier though or plan a 2 day visit to be able to experience everything without exhausting yourself.

Love this place kids had a great time look at all the sea animals. Tickets are a little to high for the time we take to check everything out. 3D shows are extra pay. So we did not do any but the place it's great it took us 3hrs walking slow and taking our sweet time. Lots of packing but lots of walking.

I only live an hour and a half away and was looking forward to a quick 4 day getaway. I booked the Moody Gardens due to the large campus and them having so much to do on site. It was rated as a 4-star so I just knew we would be able to enjoy it. It started out with the valet guy out front when we pulled up to drop off our luggage. The Asian man was very rude telling us that the second lane (they have 3 lanes, but only the first is marked "Valet only") is for valet and that we needed to pull towards the street to unload. We check in with no problems, the front desk staff was very nice. I'll start off by saying the grounds are nice to walk and they have bike rentals for guests, no charge. The room was large and spacious. The pool was large, but the 2 days I tried to use it, they shut it down because someone would vomit in it. SMH! Maybe they should rethink that swim up bar. The water was murky and seemed dirty. One of the maintenance men said the pump wasnt working properly. The prices at the bar at the pool were really reasonable and we enjoyed a couple of drinks (outside of the pool). They have a large workout room and to my surprise, a sauna. Lots of food options between the hotel and the visitors center. Now, the unpleasant. I was so disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of the hotel. I was shocked at how filthy the carpet in the hallway was. My husband pointed out the trash still on our bedroom carpet as well. Our shower had mold along the wall and the tub paint was peeling (see photos). It needs replacing. As a matter of fact, the entire place needs a massive overhaul. It is badly dated. The coffee tables in the lobby were rusted, My first night, there were brown stains on my sheets and I immediately called housekeeping to come change what should have been clean sheets. The lady came, didn't speak to us at all, didn't apologize and said nothing the entire time. When she was finished. She just walked out. I don't know her name, but she was a short hispanic lady. We were shocked. I was also surprised that the grounds and the many gardens were unkept and many overgrown with weeds and dead plants. It was sad to see this property look so bad. I remember visiting in 2001 and it was so beautiful. To make things worse, there was a cheer competition or something and they assigned cheerleaders on our floor who ran and played until after 10 PM sometimes, making it hard to get any rest. Our second night, they put a group next to us who did cheers in their room late at night and woke up before 7 doing cheers. With us being an adjoining room, you already know how that went, as you can hear everything. A total nightmare. I don't blame the kids, I blame the hotel. You have too many rooms to have them mixed in with regular guests. You should have put them all together. I couldn't enjoy coffee in my room because of course, the coffee pot was filthy, (see pictures). This place has so much potential and I was so disappointed in the lack of upkeep and the failure to modernize the facility. I'm assuming it still has 4 stars because of the golf course, waterpark and pyramids, who knows. I do know that management and the city of Galveston or board for Moody foundation or whoever is in charge, has really dropped the ball.

There wasn’t a crowd today so it was nice being able to walk through at your own pace and not have a crowd of people behind you. The property was clean, the rainforest was very hot and humid on the upper level and much cooler on the lower level. The aquarium was much colder and we all had to put on sweaters. We got a funnel cake, pretzel, and chicken tenders, the pretzel was not good but the rest we liked. $25.50 an attraction seemed high at first, but now I think it was probably worth it. I think we spent 3 hours total here, with a break to ear snacks. Overall, it was an enjoyable time, we could have watched the otters and penguins all day long.

Came here mid April, weather was nice. Has three pyramids with living things inside to look at. Every pyramid has a bathroom. There is dining in one of the pyramids (the main one). Tickets can be bought via machine or online. Cost $30 per person. Parking is free. Beautiful place to take pictures or enjoy a stroll in the park. Great place for a picnic too. Beware of the zoo of moneys that come from schools, they leave around 3pm. After that it’s a pretty quiet place to explore. Five stars.

Our first time at Moody Gardens was incredible! We went during the week to avoid crowds and it definitely paid off. The different pyramids of exhibits are organized really well, our favorite was the rain forest! We got to see a sloth up close and stroll around looking at exotic birds and even walk with some! The aquarium part is so amazing, filled with knowledge about the gulf and the sea creatures that inhabit it.

A must see amazing place. We did overnight camping with the scouts and had a tour of the aquarium. The aquarium is fantastic with diverse flora, fauna and aquatic creatures. We got to choose where we could sleep among three locations within the aquarium. The hosts were very great and provided an engaging and informative experience during the aquarium tour. 130$ for 2 adults and 2 kids under 12 for only the aquarium! It was about an hour

Didnt feel like there was much for older people to do. ..geared toward family with kids....plus very expensive to see pyramid exhibits.

The Christmas lights were beautiful. We had the Holiday Pass and saw about everything we wanted. We got there about 2:30 and left at 7:00. The only complaints: there wasn't a good variety of food.....only pizza, hotdogs, chicken strips, pretzels, funnel cake and soft drinks. Also, they don't take cash anywhere on Moody Gardens -- only credit or debit cards. Otherwise, we had a great day.

Very beautiful place to visit! During the winter you can come and see all of the Christmas lights and all year round you can stay to enjoy the scene with the family!

There are not enough words to describe the Festival of Lights experience. It exceeded our expectations....above and beyond. My favorite was the lit Christmas tree but the lights and theme changed right before your eyes...it was amazing. The dinosaur exhibit was absolutely exquisite! The Nativity scene told the story of the Birth of Christ- that was her favorite part. It was refreshing to hear about Christ in such a time. As the story was being told, lights would light up highlighting the subject at hand. It was so nice. As we were exiting the 12 days of Christmas was playing and it too was in sync with the music. It was beautifully orchestrated. It was something for everyone. We got train tickets but fyi its mainly for kids so as we were leaving we donated our tickets to a family. It was a grand experience. We'd do it again. Merry Christmas 2020.

The Christmas Night Lights were not so great. They could have had more decorated trees, music, etc. The staff at Moody Garden at the hotel & the park is very friendly. The hotel was too expensive to have outdated rooms.

This place totally exceeded my expectations! Each pyramid is unique in its own way and offers a variety of fun and interesting attractions. I think the aquarium is definitely more targeted towards kids but the rain forest is the perfect place for people of any age. If you're looking for a close-up experience with all sorts of animals from monkeys to stingrays, this is the place to go!

Was actually very clean and well kept after living around the area for 35 years. Its actually in. Better condition than I previously remember after hurricane Katrina or way way before in my child hood. Everyone was pleasant considering corona virus happened. More shops with food and drinks vendors could have been open but overall considering everything that has happened recently. I'd still give. 4.5 to 5 star out of 5.

Great time at the trail of lights. Loved how the story of Jesus being born was done with the lights. The 12 Days of Christmas light show was great as well. Added suprise was the dinosaurs.

Had a great time at Moody Gardens "festival of lights" and walking around looking at all the light displays. I loved the 3D Rudolph and 4D. Had tickets to do the slide, but it was not a big slide and seemed more for younger kids.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We came on a Sunday and their had been a cheer convention that weekend. There was an odor of septic outside when you were near the hotel. We walked the festival of lights and my 4 year old loved it. It was beautiful. There were a few section where the light were out but overall it was a fun experience.

Good for a family with young children. Many characters from children's book on the light display. The waterfall and the Christmas story was good. I wish there were more exciting light and sound combo.

Nice place to spend a day. The restaurant is closed because of the covid. Buying tickets online was a waste of time, we had to stand in line because they were never delivered.

  • 4/5 Tina A. 3 years ago on Google
The lights at Christmas time are amazing. Well coordinated themes and music, its a great place to go when you want to get out and take a walk to get some fresh air. They even had a very cool dinosaur exhibit for the young at heart. It's a must see at least once in your lifetime. Cost was reasonable for the size of light demonstration.

Haven't been here since last summer and especially since COVID but went to check out the lobby Christmas decorations. Lobby bar staff were friendly as always. The 9th floor bar martinis were good and provided a great view of the outside Christmas lights.

Festival of lights this year was still fun even without the Iceland. The slide was fun, the teenagers working it just need to be trained better for customer service and have better attitudes. They kind of act like typical teens who don't want ro be at work and it makes it sad for families trying to have a nice time. The teenager who was handing out sleds qas particularly rude and my 6-year old daughter even noticed and said something. She said he made her sad. Just shouldn't work there... period...

We went to enjoy a day with the kids. The price was pretty high for what it is, I thought. We loved the rainforest, but it's mostly just birds. The music museum was bland. We did not enjoy that. The aquarium had some really cool things. We loved the jellyfish room and I love that the stingrays are available to everyone without charge. The penguins were adorable!

People did not social distance. And there was nobody around to help you when people were right on top of you. There was no one there to tell people to wear mask or enforce anything

There is no social distance enforced, and they don’t care about the mask policy. I went to see the lights and so many people did not have a mask. You need someone to enforce your rules and get everyone to follow policy and not just a few Moody Gardens. The only thing they did right is put hand sanitizer in a few places, and that boat was crowded and again people with no mask are on the boat. People COVID is still here.

This year We went since they are advertising for ice land open for kids skating and ice sculptures..etc but it was not there and no notice or anything for visitors, so my kiddo was a little disappointed. it was still good though to see the rainforest and the aquarium again .
