Stopped to eat at La Madeleine. We got our food to go. They were fast, food came out so good. I’m not a fan of Potato soup but my friend said I wouldn’t regret and boy she didn’t lie. The quiche went good with the soup. I would def go back for breakfast.

At Barnes N Noble. Looking at the indestructible baby books. These have been my fave out of everything I have gotten. My baby likes to color on them. I wish this company made a black and white washable coloring book. Plz make one y’all

River Oak shopping is undoubtedly the epitome of high-end elegance in Houston. The plethora of brand new and fancy restaurants, with a special mention to Cocody, contributes to an exquisite dining experience. The commitment to cleanliness and organization is commendable, creating a pleasant environment. The array of fun activities for families and adults, including leisurely walks down the charming couple street, enhances the overall appeal. Barnes & Noble, boasting one of the largest collections in town, offers a delightful escape for coffee enthusiasts and magazine readers. The diverse shopping options, from pottery to specialty sprays, add to the allure. The presence of Italian and brunch restaurants, coupled with beautiful scenery, makes every visit memorable. Highly recommended for those seeking a sophisticated and enjoyable shopping experience—I'll certainly be returning.

🤜 It's just a strip-mall, but slightly fancier. 👍 Sur La Table is in this shopping center. 👎 Parking can be a problem.

One of my favorite parts of town. Still feels like old-school Houston. Apparently the theater is coming back! Can’t wait for that! Plenty of other shopping in the area. Parking is tough in some spots, but that’s to be expected in older parts of Houston. Mornings can be laid back, and afternoons can be congested, but overall very chill experience. Not a high pressure area with too many cars and too many people. Evenings are very calm, and the restaurants are usually busy. Love the whole area in general.

I personally went here for the Barnes & Noble It is Well stocked and has an excellent selection of journals kids selection as well as DVD and Criterion Collection. For myself I personally enjoy their extensive anime and graphic novel section. My personal suggestion is to always ask what is behind the counter where you pay because that is where they keep the most pristine boxed collectors items and you will be surprised at the selection they have. They also have a Starbucks in house and plenty of room to relax and read.

This is a nice area of town with a lot of stores to choose from and a lot of restaurants nearby. So you can't go wrong. If you decide to go site see and looking for some great buys this is it.

My favorite part of this shopping center are the year round lit palm trees and absolutely gorgeous flowers that dot the entire length of the shopping center. It immediately transports you worlds away without ever leaving Houston. There’s an eclectic collection of local boutiques and national brands but everything is of the highest quality. There are also some tantalizing menus in the restaurants sprinkled throughout the shopping center.

I visited Today's Vision. I was not greeted courteously and was disappointed, since I had called before coming. There was a very long wait and the astronomically HIGH cost of the glasses I chose made me decide to ONLY PURCHASE SERVICE FOR ONE PAIR. I went to another optical shop, the next day, and had my other three pairs of glasses done for more than 25% less. The lady who was there, when I picked up my glasses, was very friendly and nice. We went to Sur La Table for a family cooking class. The parking is a nightmare, and the surrounding area is a not safe feeling. The actual staff in the Sur La Table store were rude and treated us as though we 'didn't belong'. The cooking instructor was very good, but the store ladies, nope!! Like literally followed us around. Calm down, Karen! I'm not trying to steal your $15 made in China cheap ornament. I just dropped $400 on a cooking class!! We left after the class and swore we would NEVER go back and NEVER recommend that place. Rude, rude, rude (older Karens) working there.

Parking lot is hectic at times. A work truck was parked on the side taking up a lot of space and a car backing out ran into it. I was able to go into the parking garage and get to where I needed to go easily after the traffic moved out of the way

High end retail center in River Oaks corner of Shepherd and Gray. High end restaurants and retail are here so can become difficult to navigate during busy times with all the traffic. Has good access to back roads that take you north on Shepherd.

Looking pretty much tired, old and a little run down these days. Shame as it this area used to be a prestigious area in Houston for shopping and eating but sadly it seems to be in decline and badly in need of some TLC and possibly a face lift.

I recently visited this fantastic shopping mall and was blown away by the diverse range of offerings. The department store had everything I needed, from stylish clothing to home decor, while the book store was a book lover's paradise with an impressive collection.

Great place to shop, walk around or have a very nice dinner in one of the really nice restaurants at this outdoor mall. The only thing it's missing is a coffee shop.

Decent enough strip center, parking is typically a nightmare past a certain point in the day. Anytime past 3:00pm can be pretty atrocious.

Once The River Oaks Cinema reopens, this 1930s Era shopping district will have its soul restored. Looking east along West Gray Street toward downtown, you feel like you are in Los Angeles. Palm trees line the street. Good restaurants and cafes mix with global and local retail shops. This area is an oxymoron in Houston. It is beautiful. And retailers run the gamut from expensive to budget friendly. Literally, anything you need can be found alond West Gray, between Shepherd Drive and Waugh Drive.

The sky was beautiful tonight when we went for ice cream at Marble Slab during the storm. 4 stars instead of 5 for the shopping center for a couple of reasons: (1) parking by Marble Slab is tricky when it's crowded because the slots are so narrow. (2) they ran off the movie theater. I included a picture of the sky tonight because it's so neat. Enjoy.

Shipments come in daily at the Marshall's here, so there's always as great selection of items to choose from. They offer everything from clothing to furniture, which makes it easy to spend a couple of hours here.

Used to be full of stores prior to pandemic. Starbucks closed a store (the neighborhood Starbucks not the commuter one) and storefronts are empty, and even the historic River Oaks Theatre closed. Now there are only a few chains just like in the 'burbs. So sad now, brings down the once unique neighborhood.

This Is my very favorite shopping spot. TJMax easy on the pocket. Looking for high end brands or like me, champagne thoughts but beer pockets at TJMax here you can use your money to the max.If not mistaken they offer layaway. I use during the holidays.

The missus dragged me over to White House Black Market at this location. All of their stores in western Canada have been closed. The staff were most helpful and accommodating, except in Las Vegas the staff offer the husband's a bottle of water to help kill the time.. My wife after only an hour purchased one trendy looking sweater. I was so proud of her. 😁 Afterwards we headed over the Kroger location to pick up a few items. And this ended our visit to River Oaks.

I would love to meet the owner of the district of Columbia Washington post one day at Barnes & Noble. And not 🚫 even know it is him. And maybe get that Houston chronicle and or Washington post best seller title off and running 💨🎽. Someone has to be a trend 📉📈 setting open minded thinker.

Nice shopping center with many high end stores but definitely not for everyone and it's location says a lot about the prices within stores here.

  • 5/5 Shelby K. 2 years ago on Google
I love to shop and dine here. But, the garage parking is a completely different story. I open carry upon having to go into the parking garage. Yall need security or a lot more officers. Other than that. I'm still a shopper and a diner!
