It's a mixed bag here. I come to this area because my company HQ is walking distance nearby. I came here last August and everything was fine. Today I came here and everything was a bit rocky. I couldn't check in normally here because something is messed up with their credit card system. After we did get the issue worked out, I was reassigned to another room 5 levels up because the one that I digitally checked into (for 4pm) was not ready for me at 5. Not a big deal but it wasted about half an hour of my time trying to get it worked out. I heard from a co-worker he is no longer staying here because the hot water issue that's been going on for a while hasn't been fixed, but I saw the guys fixing it today. So we'll see when I go to take a shower in a moment. But I have to wait because my room had no washcloths and I had to call the front desk for some and I'm still waiting on them. What I did like about my room is that, compared to last time, my AC is blowing ice cold. And being from NJ, I just can't handle the humid weather down here, so that was good. And I'm glad that they don't have those stupid-low temperature limits like some other big hotels do. So overall, it's nothing spectacular but nothing horrible. I come to the area relatively frequently so I'll probably be updating my review as I visit and the problems get worked out or more pop up. Honestly, all that's really keeping me staying here is Hilton loyalty because I want the points to help give me a free vacation stay later this year. If I'm all out of points at the end of that, I'll probably open a Marriott rewards and stay at their place down the road if it seems better

My stay was mediocre. The room was somewhat nice and comfy, but there weren’t any supplies in the kitchen. Also, the toilet seat was broken. The beds were comfy. Nice view of the pool. Living room furniture was a bit dated. The toilet set was broken and loose upon arrival. One of the screws fell off the first time I lifted the seat. I didn’t fell like reporting it at the time because it was manageable, but annoying. I didn’t want to be inconvenienced by either leaving the room or having someone come in the room.

One of the best double trees out there, I love the fact it’s a high rise with balcony rooms. Some rooms are a little worn but it seems that management tries to keep things updated regularly. Also this is the only Hilton property I’ve stayed at (150+ nights a year, all US) that has seamless communication via the Hilton app and texts. I always know when a upgrade is available and also I am able to always use my digital key for parking, a very rare find!

WARNING DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! I've stayed here many times. I NEVER plan on booking with this location EVER AGAIN. The property is not really clean, has many maintenance issues, and not enough staff. My sheets weren't only filthy, but also inside out. The room that I requested was not available so they just put me in any room because they were overbooked. So even though my room was dirty, I couldn't be changed to another room because there were no more available. So the only thing that they could do was send more sheets, and that took hours. Truly ridiculous to be honest. In addition, the manager was very rude, and wouldn't even help us find a cart to load, and unload all of the items that we had. I had to take 5 trips upstairs (a high floor), and down as well. The staff watched a fully disabled person struggle, and carry all of these items and didn't even offer a hand to help. The only employee who offered to help was the gentleman from Valet. By that time I didn't need any help. I will also be emailing Double Tree to file an official complaint on the staff, including the several individuals names as well. WARNING DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

They couldn’t find my reservation because I book through a third party the front desk was super helpful to help find my reservation. The manager at the hotel found my reservation before the third party booking company found it. Amazing customer service!! Great location, 5 minutes from the galleria mall, Ruth’s Chris, and a P.F. Chang’s. Room was nice and comfy amazing AC. 10/10 would come again plus the cookies are amazing.

I stayed a week for business matters. Room showed definite signs of wear, carpet had stains, bathroom mirror corners looked damaged/old. I also complained about only having hot water even when on cold setting. Not sure if maintenance went while I was away. Didn't notice any improvement after advising front desk and via app. Other than that, all went well. Within walking distance to The Galleria mall and dinning. Staff was very friendly.

The location is great, but everything inside is filthy, the smell is nauseating and food is terrible. I was there a couple weeks for work and I love how walkable the neighborhood is. The staff is very friendly. However from the moment you walk into the building the smell is overwhelming. The elevator floor was sticky the majority of the time I stayed there, there was visible dirt and grime all inside and occasionally things like cigarette butts and other junk on the elevator floor. The rooms themselves are nice and big and smell is more mild than in the hallways. I used a candle every day. If you ask for a kitchen, you also need to specifically ask for utensils and dishes. THE FOOD: the breakfast area is dirty. The floor is often sticky and the smell is bad tho sometimes the coffee scent can disguise or minimize it. The breakfast is basic, scrambled eggs are very watery which combined with the dirtiness of the room and the smell … isn’t very appetizing. That being said, the homemade cinnamon rolls are surprisingly yummy. The restaurant / bar: the bartender and server are very nice and wonderful. The food was consistently gross. Example: The salmon was “chicken fried” and when I sent it back, the next salmon I got was “blackened” but with grizzly grill grime, not with seasoning. The salad was drowning in sesame oil. Literally drowning. The fish tacos were awful. No salsa, pico de gallo or sauce, just dry. The fish was very rubbery as tho it had been microwaved for too long. I ordered food 5 or 6 times and it was decent once. So perhaps it depends on who is in the kitchen. Overall this hotel feels filthy and the smell seems to be a result of years of filth and grime and cheap air freshener. The people who work there are very nice.

Feels like my second home. Everything is clean. The manager was the nicest and did her job speedily but with precision. She felt like a distant cousin. Room was spotless, bed is always soft and my view from the balcony is always a must see. Thank you for another wonderful experience.

From checking in the first room 1906. The handle would not turn to let me in the room but I had a green light. I went downstairs they immediately change the room to 2006. In this room I reported that there was mold in the shower and bathroom area. I have pictures. We were then moved to the room next door room 2004. We got settled in and the roaches started to come out. I have pictures and videos of this. I called the front desk they said a engineer needed to come check out what’s going on. We were then moved to room 2202. We were there to celebrate my mothers 63 birthday. Saturday morning we woke up took her to her spa massage appointments. While she was out we wanted to decorate her room and surprise her. Two lights was out I handed the light bulb to a from desk representative to replace and it never was done. We return to the room after dinner and the room was pitch black. We turn the kitchen lights on and my mother 85 dollars cake had roaches Crawling all over it and I have pictures of that as well. To add too all the drama I got my bill and the charge me for valet and I only had 1 car there overnight. This has to be fix. My mother did not deserve this experience at all.

The service has been welcoming and complimentary. The room was clean and neat. Bed super comfy. The fridge coffee maker no microwave tho. Towels are easily provided extra at check in. They sent an email giving the option to upgrade room & reserve parking at a discount ✅️✅️ I really appreciate that part.

Absolutely great experience. The rooms are amazing! Each has a small balcony which I love. It is walking distance to the Galleria mall, Tom and Tom's Coffee (coffee is great). The bed are super soft. Love the kitchen you can cook and store food for a large family. The hotel service was superb. My family and I had a great experience and would totally go back.

I go to Houston about once a month. This hotel was the hotel I stayed at each time I went to Houston for a year until recently. The good: Near the galleria (walking distance) I personally like the breakfast. Front desk staff have always been welcoming! The bad: Valet staff: They have all been kind respectful workers until the last time I stayed there. The man that worked the valet that night (March 27,2022) was extremely rude and was very disrespectful. Rooms are out of date and need a renovation. The last two times I stayed there the hot water didn’t work. The first time, I didn’t mind it and just told the staff when I checked out. They provided me Hilton points in return. The second time I switched rooms. I would consider staying at this hotel again if the rooms were more updated and if I knew the warm water would be working.

To stay by the Galleria in Houston with a Balcony fun right. Only problem it’s a holiday weekend and only 2 elevators worked. Other than that everything was great wait NO!!!! Checking out valet looses our ticket waiting 30 minutes still no car. I had to go and look for the key to get our car. Valet was super awesome any other crew but our Sunday morning crew was trash, the hotel was great , housekeeping was superb, just the elevator and valet suck

I’m super dissatisfied with this hotel and their lack of customer service! Last week I stayed at this hotel and had 2 rooms. We checked into the 2nd room at 1:30am after a birthday party. It was cold outside and in the room. We tried to turn on the heater and it didn’t work. I then grabbed the extra blanket in the room to cover up with within 4 hours I woke up with welts from a bedbug. I immediately went downstairs and told the staff and manager. They said they would refund my room and give me a credit for a future stay. I was frustrated but it seemed they understood in that moment. However they never refunded me a room I was in for only 4 hours due to the bedbugs. The management also told diamond support they didn’t say they were going to refund me. I should’ve recorded the conversation. It is a shame when you cannot trust the management at this hotel to follow through on what they say. The bedbugs have caused a reaction that I have had to seek medical treatment for the welts. However instead of the $200 for the extra room and the inconvenience they are offering 10k points. To say I’m disappointed is an overstatement! I do not recommend this hotel at all!! As a loyal diamond member I am super upset with their handling of this situation.

The staff was most friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the views were spectacular! The rooms could use a little updating, but for the location and price we were pleased. We will gladly stay here again.

We stayed here 1/24/24 and the experience was perfect. The room was gorgeous, large, and clean. It’s been about a month so I can’t recall their names, but the man and woman working in the bar were amazing. My kids special ordered everything and they were so great about it. The food was phenomenal. I had a noodle salad that I loved, my husband had a green salad that he loved, the hummus plate was delicious and the chips and dip came with enough salsa and queso to feed an army. 5 well deserved stars.

Unfriendly checkin concierge, no free breakfast, a multitude of gnats at the hotel bar (killed two with my hands while drinking a single beer, if you're getting something from a bottle with a pour top check before you drink it), $30/day self parking in a lot that stands out as particularly dingy, and my room has inadequate and anemic lighting as well as a view that is a sitcom-style visual punchline of a quintessentially bad hotel room view. There are a lot of nearby hotels - I suggest you stay in one of the others.

The hotel is nice and walking distance to the Galleria. The only complaint was the bartender (black lady) was rude the first night we drank at the bar. The second night, the young guy and old man made up for the customer service at the bar. They were friendly.

The service at the front desk was very attentive and helpful. Had a great experience at breakfast as well. The servers were exceptionally friendly and very on top of their work.

The staff was amazing. Everyone I encountered was very courteous. The hotel itself is outdated and is in need of major renovations. My room was spacious but outdated and clearly worn. The carpet and furniture were worn and needed replacing. Even the appliances in the kitchen were worn or rusted. The elevator was shaky and shoddy as well. I probably wouldn’t stay here again unless there was a major renovation to this hotel. Great staff…old hotel.

I stayed in Suite on the 26th floor, the view was amazing and the snack amenities were everything. Now let’s talk about the customer service!! I’m a Travel Agent from Austin, TX and I travel to Houston a lot. Today Ms Tamyra (Front Desk Supervisor) checked me out. Her customer service on a scale of 1-10 wax a 11!! She was kind, polite, and she knows her job. Again, I have been to this hotel many times and I have always had a positive experience but the customer service I received from Tamyra today, was above and beyond service. It’s because of her that I will forever stay at this hotel.

This was a terrible experience! We were allowed to check in early which was nice. The wings were fantastic but took forever to come out. They were extremely short staffed despite knowing there would be a huge group of people. There were a few hundred people in our group. When they did come out we had to remind the server that we never received our change despite being billed 15 minutes beforehand, which further delayed our plans. We received a complimentary upgraded room which was nice but the room we were in had several issues. There was an issue with both phones in the room which wasn’t a big deal as we could call from our cell phones if need be. We had issues with pooling water in the tub which was fixed in a few hours. Our room was not refreshed despite being asked twice. We had issues with the hotel keys deactivating. The shuttle was a nice perk but they would only take you within a 2 mile radius. We had issues with the shuttle on our return trip. It was very difficult to get a hold of the front desk and we were told that there was a 20 minute wait. We decided to Lyft back to the hotel and the shuttle was still there even though the front desk told us that they were on another ride. We were told it was on a first come first serve basis. Parking at the hotel was also very expensive. All things that weren’t fantastic but were manageable. The kicker was when I called to let them know there was a roach in our room. I spoke with Jerald. He said they would need to call us back after checking to see if there was another room available. They called back and said that there were no additional rooms available and there was no emergency exterminator that they could call. Jerald stated that they could only provide complimentary breakfast and reward points. When I stated that it was unacceptable I was asked if I wanted to check out. I asked for a manager and was told that no one would be available until morning.

Because of the location, the hotel is a little rundown. The furniture was scratched up and bubbling, the toilet took a little persuasion, the headboard was stained and the refrigerator didn’t work. For it being a Doubletree, it didn’t look as kept up as it should have been. However, the front desk gets a 10/10 with me because they were so understanding and kind. Location is great too because it’s surrounded by so many places to eat and the mall isn’t far off either.

Staff are wonderful at hotel. Their friendliness seemed to set the stage for how guest interacted with one another in elevator, lobby and bar. Loved the location. Enjoyed the lobby bar area. Room was spacious, clean and quiet.

Me and 3 of my friends came for Beyonce's concert. We stayed from Friday to Monday. We had a great time in Houston and we were treated very well at this hotel. Jerrod treated us very great at check in and Tamyra treated us very well too and accommodated us in any way possible. The rooms are very spacious, nice, and clean. The hotel is in a great location surrounded by a lot of restaurants and of course, the Galleria. Prime location to stay in if you want to visit Houston.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate us! Tamyra was excellent in helping us during our three night stay recently. I have no complaints!

BEWARE! This hotel has an active roach infestation. The staff is rude and disrespectful. No true customer service. Nasty attitudes it was absurd. The only upside is the kind young lady that works tirelessly with Valet. Shoutout to Tori! Everything else was deplorable. We had to leave in the middle of the night and find a new hotel at 3am because of the roaches. 0/10 would not recommend and will NEVER stay at a Hilton hotel again. I never leave reviews but I’m so shocked at the horrendous experience I figured I could at least make someone else’s hotel choosing experience simpler. Go ahead and X this Hilton off your list. There are FAR better hotels in walking distance. JUMPSCARE: I’ve added screenshots from the videos we took, so there are repulsing pictures of the 2 out of 5 roaches we saw in a 1 hour time span.

This hotel has three Peloton bikes. People who know me know that alone is a selling point. The fitness center is a good size stocked with a variety of equipment. There is an outdoor pool on the 3rd floor, a nice bar on the 1st floor and breakfast served on the 2nd floor. Room service is available and it's located in the galleria area which promises tons of shopping and foods. The grounds are lovely and well kept. With all that I don't feel that's the absolute best part. All the service encounters I had during my stay were above and beyond accommodating and pleasant. Tamyra and Pinky at the front desk and RJ and Che with valet are only names I obtained. Everyone was very nice and made the overall experience one of my best in Houston. Glad I stayed here.

Our family felt treated as honored guests by every one of the staff we passed and talked to. From the valets, desk, hospitality, dining, and bar: every face wearing a Double Tree badge notably welcomed us warmly and expressed care about our experience and stay. The only things that kept my rating at 9/10 were some stains on the carpet and small insects in our room. Other than those issues, we were very satisfied with the location, service, and stay.

  • 5/5 Natalie G. 8 months ago on Google
The room and staff at this hotel were exceptional. They took lovely care of my relative and her concerns related to her health while we were staying there. The nightly staff was warm and welcoming, we enjoyed sitting in the lobby, bar area at night where our regular waiter took great care with any orders. The room was spacious and clean with attention to small details. The parking staff always held the door open for us as we approached the hotel. It was an easy walk to the galleria and Waterwall. We thank you for a joyful stay, despite difficult life circumstances. It was truly a bright spot for us in Houston! We look forward to future stays at this specific location.

Rashaud at the front desk was spectacular, very helpful on the phone and very helpful at the hotel, made sure our experience was a good one. The swimming pool and pool area was nice. Dropping a star because the whole hotel smells like a nursing home

I was with a group of people with LifeWallet sports. We were in the hotel staying overnight before and after our trip to college station for the Miami versus Texas A&M game. The breakfast that morning was outstanding. The bed was comfortable. Everything was good to go in there. I would highly recommend it.

Decent hotel room but the vent faced the window and did not cool the room very well. I received great service from Julian when my digital key/room were not ready on time. He took great care of me and got me another room quickly. He was kind and very professional. Our meeting space was much too small for our group of 60+ and the food was just ok considering the options in the area.
