This is literally the “WORST” hospital I have ever been to. My mother was in a real bad car accident in which her leg was broken. She has multiple sclerosis which makes matters worse. They took her here and put her in a trauma hallway. While waiting to be seen by a doctor, she needed to go to the restroom but couldn’t move because of her leg. She asked multiple nurses for a catheter but they didn’t have one. So my mother had to literally soil her clothes because the hospital didn’t have a catheter. They gave her an x-ray of her leg, popped her leg back in place, and sent her on her way. They didn’t even bother checking her head for injuries. That is gross negligence. I was not confident when they discharged her because they didn’t not take a very comprehensive approach to her well being. They also decided to discharge her right when I left the hospital. I was there for 5hrs with no status on her and they said she will be in the waiting room until we pick her up. I would advise anyone to not come here. They don’t care about the patients here. This hospital needs to be fully investigated. I wouldn’t be surprised if some patients have died under their care which could have been prevented. I will never come here again unless I want to die in the ER. I even saw a patient bleeding all over the floor. Do you know it took a security guard to try and clean that up with a dry towel. Not sanitary at all. Update - My mother has been in the ER since yesterday and they have yet to give her a room nor food. This is ridiculous! I may have to contact someone “higher up” to address my concerns!

We were advised after sitting for 8 hrs, there would be a 11-15 hr minimum wait. I, personally can not say that it was average or absurd. I simply have had no need for an ER for a many yrs. We should have been told as soon as that bracelet was put on the patient at our arrival, it was a 24-hr ER wait. Writhing in pain, We could have prepared for the wait, the person I accompanied surely needed immediate care. High point: Reasonably clean and orderly, they do offer pillows/blankets, coffee for those that dare drink anything public, multiple outlets to charge devices. Bless all who enter.

I have currently been here for almost 24 hours. It took me 10 hours just to receive antibiotics. I have to constantly ask for people to remember to check on me. I understand the ER is full and busy, but that doesn’t mean you ignore lesser patients. Even though I need surgery on my mouth. No one has assigned me a nurse so I am constantly having to ask nurses to find me someone.

Went in for high blood pressure. Got there at 5pm. Waiting room not full but man those people behind the counter just goof off. Waiting 6 hours after labs and ekg and finally walked out to go somewhere else because they told me I would just have to wait others were there going on 12 hrs. But then other people going in and out. They have no explanation. Maybe if They asked for my insurance which they didn’t. But I have really good insurance too! My head was spinning eyes blurry and they could care less. I will never go back to that ER MH has gone down hill since 2018.

I have a huge respect for those in health care. However, as a patient here, I was treated as an animal. I was not seen as a patient, or for what I was going through. I was seen as a diagnosis and and inconvenience. I was taken here because it was an emergency, not because I chose to go here for care. And I was labeled, and treated so poorly, my family was removed because they were concerned and trying to help me. They treated me like I was not able to speak, or think for myself. Healthcare professionals should lead with care, compassion, and integrity. And that is not what I received here, do better memorial Herman on how you treat your patients, how you treat PEOPLE. 0/10 do not recommend you or your loved ones go here for care.

6411 Fannin Memorial Hermann ER 10/26/2022 3:11am You won’t be advised of the 15+ hr wait until your vitals and some sort of work has been done May as well stay- you get charged either way! Service is terrible- I asked to speak with a manager at 153-it’s 311am been here since 430p yesterday (10/25) I thought I did a good thing by calling UHC & asking which emergency room was in my network - I feel like I’m trapped in Charlottes web Don’t get me started on how filthy it is- This guy came in and dug all through the box of masks - This is the most unsanitary experience I’m sure I’m not the only person with an emergency hence my being here STILL- But good grief where is the CARE!?! Look at the pics/ just took them- of the public women restroom and the emergency room waiting room Do you see the trash the PILL!?!? And another thing- not a sanitary wipe in sight This guy at the check in counter called everyone in the waiting room to get their vitals I’m sure to charge them again Didn’t wipe or spray the seat or cuffs Just GROSS Update 10/26/22 450am I saw someone with wipes - well one..wiping down chairs and another person pushed a makeshift swifter sweeper but missed the pill I photographed earlier I can say- Joel and I believe her name is Christie/Christina (sp) have five star service Had to wait 1/2 a day to experience and I’m still in the waiting room Update 6:16am (yes I’m still here) Five stars for Ultrasound Tech Teneeka Front desk guy Anthony

I feel like a lot of these reviews were meant for a different location. I've had mostly good experiences at the Memorial Hermann TMC location. ER waiting room and entry was nothing special. I remember it was clean. I guess I was lucky when I had to go there. My doctor scheduled the surgery and then I walked to the waiting room. I was admitted in under 30 minutes. There weren't a lot of people waiting at the time so I guess I just lucked out. It may have also helped that I expected I might need surgery so I hadn't had anything to drink or eat for 6 hours prior to showing up. I only had to go through the ER waiting room the 1 time although I've been in for surgery 4 times this year. The rest of this review pertains to after the entry/waiting room. Every time, the admitting nurse staff has always been polite and friendly, as well as the anesthesiologists and PACU nurses. I can't say for other staff since I was under general anesthesia every time. I can remember the condition of 2 of the operating rooms(general anesthesia tends to make you forget just before and after you wake up) and they were both very nice and clean. My only complaint(not really tho) is that I was having a really nice dream during one of my procedures and I woke up during the good part to 3 or 4 people yelling my name since the surgery was over.

I came in today with chest pains and sat for 7 hours. They had every bed and hall way with stretchers. They put me in a room with another patient. I am not complaining about any of these things that were out of their control. What I am complaining about is that I got released still having chest pains. They did give me a ibuprofen and a hydracodone. I understand my cardiac stuff showed somewhat normal. I have congestive heart failure to begin with on top of being a diabetic. I feel like they could have looked a little harder to help find answers.

Worst place to get care. My wife had COVID and was having breathing issues. They kept her waiting for four hours and when she asked they told her she will have to wait for another 18 hrs. She left immediately to another hospital. They don't even provide proper care to patient. After a month they even sent us a bill saying they are ONLY billing for the services they provided although it is more than the entire bill of the second hospital. We now have to pay at two places instead of one. Worst place to go. Not only they are not providing proper care they are also robbing in the daylight. This is unethical, let alone immoral and fraud.

By far the worst experience ever. I went in due to me having a gallbladder pain attack at 9:30 P.M. I was waiting on a room for 12+ hours in the dirtiest waiting area ever. Homeless people were there sleeping and dirtying up the restrooms, asking for blankets. Up until 4 am security and staff decide to check if they were on the registry and about 20 of them were not. They did not give me pain medication or anything. The pain literally wore off on its own. I waited all that time just so the doctor could say I can just drink ibuprofen for the pain and schedule an appointment to get my stones removed. I went in thinking they would automatically do it. Worst emergency room. Do not go in there unless you’re literally about to die other wise they will take their sweet time on seeing you.

The staff is absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional. The worst I have ever seen from a hospital staff. Family members forced to sit outside on the concrete and refused to be allowed to see a family member. The head of this hospital said that "we've done enough to accommodate, and will not do it again". Security guards acting like they were going to get physical with family members. Absolute disgrace to the medical field. They lied to make themselves look good, do not bring your family to this place they treat everyone horribly.

I was in ER just yesterday and I witnessed the most horrible care from this hospital. However, I did run across 2 nurses that were great Nivea and Erin, great girls. Now Joe that worked in the ER on 10/22/22 was nasty. He wanted to drag my hurt leg /knee a wheelchair with no legs. I just can’t believe that a huge hospital as this one doesn’t have the larger wheelchairs in the ER that is functional. I was dragged backwards after discharge. During my time there I never complained, no attitude or rudeness. I am in the same profession as them for 20 years and definitely not the same care in this field. I asked for a larger gown, I waited 2 hours for that and after asking 2 people. Every request took 2 hours and mind you I can count on 3 fingers how many times I requested something. I can see why my patients prefer not to go here. All I can say is WOW. The ER doctors never address the X-rays I kept asking about. Just HORRIBLE God fights ALL MY BATTLES and I will win!!!!!!

Communication at this hospital is horrible. Nurses are nice and hard working but they seem to be unable to get any response from the doctors. My dad has been waiting on just a surgery update for over a day and as a result he has been able to eat anything for close to two days (the first day was spent in a hallway in the ER... it took a full day just to get admitted and moved to a room). We understand that it takes time to get scheduled for surgery but it seems like these doctors don't understand that with no updates, even to the nurses, that people don't get to eat for way too long of a time. This is a terribly run place. If you can get to another hospital I would strongly recommend you go somewhere else.

Worst medical experience we’ve ever had. My father was admitted into the ER, and the lack of attention and care was astounding! Caregivers were rude and unhelpful. I spent the whole night by my father’s side, and the doctor did not once come to visit, even after asking for him/her twice. The whole facility had no rooms to put him in outside of the ER so he was kept there for two days. Once we were able to move him, they moved him to the wrong location! We live far north in Montgomery county and they brought him to the south Houston location, unbeknownst to us and unapproved by us! Terrible experience all around.

This place is a joke and is only open for the money. We were charged over $3000 just for walking in to the Er. My husband went in for a high temp. Since he’s being treated for his cancer- he was advised by his medical team that if his temp is higher than 100.5 go in immediately to the nearest ER. We came here with his temp at 101. We told them that he’s going through chemo and radiation. They took him to the back and told me I couldn’t walk in with him. My husband had to call me on my cell so that I can help him fill out paper work since he was incoherent. NO ONE WAS HELPING HIM!! Once I found out how they were treating my husband I told him not to fill it out yet. I told him to ask the nurse what his temp was BEFORE filling out any paperwork- the nurse told him it was 98. So I told my husband to come out. We left once we found out what his temp was and they weren’t even trying to tell us anything! They threw him in a room and shut the door without anyone telling him anything. He didn’t get checked out by a nurse or a doctor. He was only placed in a room by himself and was given a load of papers to fill out in which he didn’t even get to do. $3000 just for checking his temperature!!! HE DIDNT EVEN SEE THE DOCTOR!! STAY AWAY!!!

Update: Memorial Hermann sent me a letter basically saying "F you" almost 2 months after my service date. I will not do anymore tests at Memorial Hermann. They charge the patients however much they'd like without considering the market price and without telling the patients ahead of time. Futhermore, they are not willing to work with you to resolve any issues or complaints. Good job Memorial Hermann! You really showed how much you cared about your patients! I'm truly impressed! Had a regular test performed at Memorial Hermann that I would otherwise do at UT Physicians. Memorial Hermann charged me 8 times higher than UT physicians and 5 time higher than other hospital, without informing me ahead of time. Called the customer service number on the bill and had no resolution. They told me the service had rendered and nothing they could do. I wouldn't have done it if I knew how much they charge for a simple test that I do every year. Don't come here unless you don't care how much they charge!

Everyone here was awesome & the service was great! There were quite a few people there but everyone I spoke with was helpful. The doctors were great; very informative and they communicated everything. We were worried about this hospital because of the rating but God worked everything out for us!! You’ll be in good hands here!

Wish I just brought my son the next day..been waiting since 3pm n now it’s 3:30am. Had to come cause he has enflamed gallbladder. Once the specialty surgery knows how long his patient, waiting without even I.V. They say there’s no beds or Dr’s.

I don’t usually write reviews, but absolutely this has been my worst experience by far, i have sickle cell disease with a kidney infection and severe shortness of breath. I understand that they’re understaffed or the ER is full but im in and out of consciousness very dizzy i asked for a nurse about 3 times still was yet to receive one. No one checked on me but other patients around me. I couldn’t even receive Tylenol to help with me Fever. If i could give it a 0 i would

I’m not sure why this hospital has such a low rating. I’ve had 2 surgeries here with one having a 2 night stay. The nurses here are wonderful and the staff is just as good. Parking isn’t the best but overall a good hospital experience.

Worst emergency room ever! They made me wait 6 hrs for mir and kept putting ppl ahead of me because they felt my seizures weren’t as important. The employees are rude and think they in charge of something. They don’t know how to talk to ppl. Especially that Hispanic guy at the front desk taking the vitals and the white nurse that is behind him in the room. Very racist hospital. Very racist system.

The experience in the ER wasn't great. I was there for hours in the hallway on a gurney, with people occasionally coming by to administer tests (the staff was fantastic, which is why this isn't a one-star review; everyone there was extremely friendly). A couple days later I called to have the results of my tests sent to my primary care doctor and the process was terrible! You'd think a patient could call the hospital, give them their doctor's fax number, and have the records sent over, but this place has some overly-complicated process in place that made it almost impossible.

Do not go here unless you are for sure dying. I was laying on the floor, in and out of consciousness from my pelvic pain, eventually admitted where they gave me a Tylenol. They LIED about giving me other pain medication so it got to the point that I was gripping the bed screaming in agony because all I had had was a Tylenol for 7hrs. They eventually knocked me out with something. They did some general scans but told me that they couldn’t do a cystoscopy because the necessary people weren’t there so I was admitted and treated for the pain. I was told I’d get the cystoscopy in the morning. After THREE DAYS of fighting for them to follow through on the cystoscopy the urologist told me “it’s an invasive procedure and no one is going to *just* perform one”. Her resident swung by later saying “our scans are so good they’d see something and they don’t.” (Blond guy black glasses). I spoke with my mom who works in urology in Ohio and their entire team doubled down “what magical scans do they have that show absolutely everything. We want those.” I eventually asked to leave because they refused me care. Turns out I have horrible endometriosis all over my pelvic region. I had laparoscopic surgery that showed lesions all over the place. These incompetent fools can only treat you if it’s an obvious thing, problem solving is not their strong suit. They could have said “we don’t see anything on THESE scans but we urge you to follow up with a specialist.” Nope. Their gaslighting arrogant team lied about medicine that they “gave me” (I was also charged for medicine that I BROUGHT WITH ME that they didn’t provide, they lied about how invasive a cystoscopy was (whole procedure took about 5 mins at a urology office I went to), didn’t catch my advanced stage endometriosis or THE BACTERIAL INFECTION that the cystoscopy caught and they lied about what their scans can and cannot see. I’m thankful I had guidance from medical professionals that have some actual sense. Unless you’ve been shot and have no other choice- this is not your place.

The waitroom is literally 100% empty but they use the coronavirus as an excuse to have me sit outside in 25 degree weather like I’m a pariah for no real reason. Logic would easily win here but the night staff won’t think for themselves, so while my friend is sick in the ER I’ll freeze rather than support so they can ensure the wait room is completely empty. Well done Memorial Hermann, congrats on using your brain in a time of need for others

I recently had a major surgery at Memorial Hermann and was very happy I elected this facility for my procedure. The nurses and care I received was exceptional! From the surgery process to the aftercare, I can not thank Dr. Alvaro Ignacio Montealegre and the nursing staff enough. Mr. Montealegre and his attending staff throughly explained the process to me as well as the aftercare to my husband and I. We were both comfortable throughout the entire process from the start to my release. I would wholly recommend any woman having a procedure to schedule at Memorial Hermann.

BILLING FRAUD! My mother was extremely sick and was in the hospital probably at least once a week if not definitely every two weeks. This went on for six months before she passed. out of all of those visits one visit which cost $98,000 they sent me a bill for $1500 that wasn’t covered. I told them they simply need to re-bill because she had four different insurances and every other visit was covered. I’ve never received a bill for anything . She did not want to listen to me told me I needed to pay the $1500. In that $98,000 bill there were multiple charges for physical therapy and wheelchair training. However, that particular visit she was restrained to the bed almost 24/seven her illness affected her behavior and she was extremely combative, unfortunately this is how they chose to deal with it. If they were restraining her, you cannot tell me that they were able to build $2000 a visit for therapy when she’s restrain to a bed or teach her how to use a wheelchair when she is restrained to a bed and fighting people. CHECK YOUR BILLS!!!!!!! I was there every single day, she was never out of the bed. She couldn’t stand up and I even had the therapist telling me that they tried therapy but as soon as they came in the room, she started fighting them so they had to leave. Are they really allowed to bill for walking in a room and doing nothing.?

DO NOT GO THERE! I can’t believe how long this emergency room had us waiting. Over ten hours, they did bloodwork, an ultrasound, and took my vital twice and still would not tell me what was going on. I’m a couple weeks pregnant and bleeding and even when we asked for answers no one came with them. They wanted to admit me but didn’t tell me why and didn’t have a bed for me so why have me wait that long without telling me what’s going on! How am I suppose to even know if my baby has survived or if I’m going to be okay. I’m in pain and nauseous. I’d give zero stars if I could

Waited 10 plus hours to get a room for my wife and I and all they proceeded to do was give my wife A EKG and tell her she had low blood sugar when he had seizures yesterday back to back within 5 minutes. Absolutely useless in terms of help, and I’ve had to take my wife to Methodist ER as her conditioned worsened this morning. Not to mention the homeless can do whatever they want as they stole food from my wife when I was going to park at the garage.

My wife was in labor and the front desk ladies were so indifferent to the situation I was freaking out but my wife kept a cool head they kept asking for her name over and over and then the annoying parking guy told me to move my car.these people want to cause nothing but inconvenience and it’s frustrating if you have any complaints they don’t want to hear it. Terrible experience and customer service if you can go to better hospital I strongly recommend it
