I've been to 5 mental hospitals in Houston. This particular one 4 times. Last visit was January 2022. I admitted myself because I was having psychosis and unbearable anxiety. My medications I was on, were not helping. This facility could use a lot of help. Some positives are they accept medicaid and private insurance. The adults are allowed to smoke/bring your unopened packs. Most of the staff was nice and tolerant, however not well trained in many areas. They are not helpful with providing answers at all and often use stall tactics to avoid appearing uninformed. Their basic function is a babysitter. What really frustrated me the most is they tricked me by saying I could sign myself out at any time, if I was voluntarily checking in. After being there for 4 days and only seeing a Dr. once, for 5 minutes. They insisted on keeping me on meds that were not working. I was not receiving any kind of helpful treatment. And you never know when the Dr will see you. The nurses don't know and can't provide you with any hope. I was ready to sign out. So I told the nurse, what do I need to do, she said oh you're not leaving. You must sign a request form, which is handed to your Dr. The Dr then has 4 hours after receiving the letter to decide to release you AMA, or request the judge to court order your stay. And, she said (rudely) that the Dr's not going to release me as long as my insurance is paying for my stay they wanted to keep there. So the Dr. No matter what, would get the judge to make me stay, and , she warns me that if I choose that route it's likely the judge will make me stay longer. I felt like my basic freedom rights were being violated, and she clearly knew this and didn't care. Other than that, they had 2 "groups" a day lead by people with no special title or license. They just pass out some papers with basic info on mental health, boundaries, coping skills, basic things. Very simple, nothing is personalized, the information is sort of belittling, considering most of the patients are high functioning. The facilities: not fancy or better than other hospitals. Showers were old, broken tiles, no pressure, crooked stream. Food is good for many folks who like country style cooking, but I like a healthier variety. Entertainment is basically none. They had 2 t.v's both were blurry and barely visible also they kept the volume so low you can't hear. They had print out color sheets and crosswords but the games and puzzles were all broken and missing parts. They do have free phones that are on most of the day. They were not allowing visitors. Even though at then end of my stay I was feeling worse than at the start, I lied to the Dr. because I felt trapped and I saw there was nothing they were doing for me. No matter how many more days I stayed, O was not being cared for or treated right. And it was clear they were using me to get paid. So I lied and said my medicine was working and I was happy and not experiencing any anxiety or hallucinations.

Former employee. I want to preface this by saying that we have a bunch of amazing nurses and techs, the problem is with administration. The hospital is run strictly to make money with little regard for patient safety. Their employee turnover rate is extremely high because of how we’re treated. Always understaffed. I was once working alone (I was a tech) with a single nurse and 15 patients (I worked the kids unit). The hospital’s policy is that at 15 patients we get 2 nurses and 2 techs. That’s a joke. And the second we drop down to 14 patients they start sending employees home. I remember one incident where all the beds on the kids unit were taken, but they admitted another child anyway, putting a mattress on the floor in the dayroom for them to sleep on. You’re hired for a full time position but hardly ever make 40 hours because of how often you’re sent home. We do rounds on the patients every 15 minutes. I was once behind on rounds an hour and a half because we were understaffed and were having trouble keeping up with the kids between fights and meltdowns and keeping kids separated to avoid fights. After that situation calmed down, a patient came to me and told me that she had tried to commit suicide in her room. This was during the time that we were behind on rounds and no one was available to check on her every 15 minutes because we were too busy breaking up fights and dealing with rambunctious children. This is NOT a safe place for your kids. They make no effort to keep the boys and girls separated. We’ve had incidents of sexual activity between the kids. Boys and girls are often roomed on the same hallway only feet away from the opposite sex’s room. With how understaffed we are there’s no telling what kids could get away with. Summer is here and the A/C is down in most of the hospital. The Joint Commission has been coming around for inspections and when they do, the CEO moves patients off of one of the hot units to conceal the fact that they are housing patients (who are paying well over $1000 a night) on an un-air conditioned unit. These are not isolated incidents, problems like this happen all the time. An employee was beaten to the point of needing to go to the emergency room because no one was available to pull the patient off of him (again understaffed). I have no clue how this place is still up and running, but for the sake of the patients I do hope major changes are made soon (doubtful). I hope this review will help some patient looking for help avoid a very unsafe environment. I’m sure this review may be brushed off as a rage quitting review from an angry employee, and I’m sure the hospital will try and report it as spam, but the fact that employees generally last about 6 months before quitting should say something about how this place is run

my daughter was taken here after an overdose attempt, the problems began 3 days after she was admitted. No details of her care at all. Dr attempted to call once could never get a hold of them again kept her for 13 days. The "family therapy" was a phone call with a therapist asking me do you have any questions ? It was solely a state mandated phone call to show that they talk to the parent when no solutions were offered, no communication between me and the kid they were refusing to talk to me. Got a phone call Monday morning they are releasing her and I still have no information or game plan on how to keep this kid alive. This place was absolutely no help. Mental health standards have gone downhill drastically. They did nothing!

I was inpatient at Cypress Creek for 14 days. I was in a 12-17 y/o unit. Some staff enforced rules more than others and often unfairly. It was very boring overall; we only had one working TV, some cards, and markers and crayons. Some of the staff were amazing like Ms. Karly, Mr. John, and Ms. Michelle (she gave us play-doh.) Pet therapy and art therapy were great, but the other twice-daily group therapy didn’t help a majority of the time and felt like a punishment. If you didn’t want to talk much that day, the therapist reported that you weren’t ready for discharge. The rooms were either very cold to the point of needing 4 blankets or very hot. The food was actually pretty good, and so were the snacks. My psychiatrist Dr. Akpudo only saw me once, instead sending an assistant to talk to me every few days. They insisted on me taking medication I had previously taken and had very negative side affects on. They didn’t allow me to have my blood pressure regulating medication, my ADHD medication, or my antipsychotics. My psychiatrist took me completely off of the 7 medications I was taking before hospitalized, and I went a few days without an antidepressant while waiting for the order to process. When speaking to my psychiatrist’s assistant, she insisted that the medication was working, when I had clearly expressed to staff and her that it wasn’t. I was discharged before I felt ready to go home and relapsed into self-harm and suicidal thoughts immediately upon discharge. After I was discharged, I had Dr. Dhatt as my psychiatrist. While seeing both Dr. Akpudo and Dr. Dhatt, they both put me on an anxiety medication and said I could take it 3-4 times a day as needed. I later learned from my new psychiatrist that the maximum I should be taking at that dose is 2 times a day. The staff were mostly good, the food was good, but the psychiatrists and care you received were both subpar.

I was taken here from an overdose attempt. 1st off, the building is extremely dirty, unkept, and I’m sure there was a roach infestation as I saw multiple BABY roaches. That’s not ok. Not to mention the unprofessional staff. The nurses were more like babysitters. Not to mention I waited 8 HOURS im the waiting room. They also restrict your usage to the phone which is against your rights. ZERO STARS.

I met a homeless woman in Sharptown Mall who was trying to get to this facility, and she asked me for a ride. I decided to take her here. When we got there I asked the receptionist how long would it take for an evaluation, she was very short and rude. She pointed to a phone in the corner and said she would transfer me to someone who could help, but they never answered the phone. She said that’s all she could do. So evidently I was never able to reach anyone,. As I sat and observed people going and coming I realized that the employees in this facility were very rude; the way they handle the customers, the clients and just nonchalant and unconcern, no empathy or sympathy. If this would’ve been one of my relatives I would’ve never let her stay here but that was not my call, so that’s the reason why I rated them 2. The facility seems nice enough, but the employees are too cold and unconcerned about the clients, especially the clients they serve, who needs understanding.

A girl bashed me in the head three times there. Just go to a different hospital. They just left me in the room with her for over a half hour before they responded. Yes, they have cameras. They openly talked around me about deleting the film. The staff also stole my cigarettes a lot. I know they do it to other patients if they don't like you. I'd encourage others to write reviews as well or write directly to the government because they do lose funding.

They leave you sitting locked in for hours on end waiting to get “assesed” with your loved one who is in need of care. They don’t tell you anything about what is going to happen or what to expect. Then you don’t even see a doctor until the next day. This place is closer to a prison then a hospital. My wage came there not being able to sleep for days and they gave her Melatonin. Like we didn’t already try that. Very insensitive to say the least.

Leaving one star because you cannot leave zero. I was admitted involuntarily because they believed I was trying to kill myself due to taking one extra 25mg lamictal as a mood stabilizer since I couldn’t not take atarax. I was placed in the lowest functioning unit with the most hostile patients because the building was “too full”. I told them I may be pregnant upon speaking to Dr. Dhatt at my first evaluation and was never tested. I am now 8 months pregnant and was told not to take the medications I was prescribed at the time of my stay. I will be filing a malpractice suit against my attending physician for medical negligence. I was told that I could not leave unless I took the medication, and the paper they give you to request an appeal may as well be toilet paper. I missed 5 days of wages and could not find child care for my 2 year old during my stay. I was assaulted by another patient with AIDS and requested an STD test for which I never received the results. They sure billed my insurance though even though I refused to pay. All they want is your money and do not care about your mental or physical health.

I wanted to take the time to thank the hospital for helping me get better. I came in needing to get help, and its exactly what i got. The facility is nice, and while the other reviews complain about everything, I didn’t have a bad experience at all. The days were scheduled and the group therapies help if you actually attend and listen to them. My Dr. understood what i was feeling and suggested what would be best for my situation. Unit 5 nurses were amazing, so shoutout to Nurse Janice, Yasmin, Imani, Nikki, Nana, Ronnel, Barbara, and Dr. Swain, Dr. Jo, and Dr. Dinesh. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for all of the attentive staff, and I will be thankful for that everyday.

So I made a Review awhile back but I thought I would change it. I’ve been to this hospital around 12-17 ish times. I struggle with Bpd,depression, bipolar, anexity, panic disorder, and ptsd. I have been on Both units 2 and 4. To start with There is a lot of fights and it doesn’t help with my ptsd. There is lots of yelling and sometimes in the middle of the night. Most patients are aggressive. Sometime patients steal stuff from other patients. This hospital will keep you as long as your insurance pays even if you meet the discharge criteria. The doctor will only meet with you once, and the assistant will meet with you through the rest of your stay. There is only group therapy and not individual therapy. When you have your family therapy session it is just asking a bunch of questions, not real therapy and helping you with your problems. The showers flood and the bathrooms are dirty. The food is mostly fake and they run out of drinks all the time. There is not much help in this hospital, but the staff mostly try their best. Miss Tabatha is very kind and a few other staff and it’s the only reason I kept coming back because they helped me on my journey to getting better. None of the assigned therapists and doctors helped just the techs and med nurses. The patients like to flip stuff like chairs and tables and bang on walls. The activity therapy with Mr. Hood is horrible, it feels like he’s downgrading your mental health. The other activity therapist are okay, they plan fun things to do. In the units there is a bunch of free time and rarely nothing to do except color or sit and talk. If you’re lucky you will find a full board game with all the pieces but that is rare. You do get to go outside sometimes but there is only one basketball. The only reason I would ever recommend this hospital is for the kind staff that believe in you. This hospital just want your money and not to actually help you. Some of the staff are rude and don’t actually care for you. So parents please do not send your kids here because they will be begging for you to take them out. -Emmalee

I give this place a ZERO!!! The staff is rude and the therapist doesn't listen to you on what is going on. They let the kids manipulate them. The doctor hasn't even called me they way that I was told. I was also told that the boys wasn't able to interact with the girls. That's a lie. I feel like that I am getting played not just by my child but also by Cypress Creek Hospital. PEOPLE DON"T BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE!!!! THEY DON"T HELP OR LISTEN TO YOU!!

if i could do negative stars I would, i use to hold this place very high in regard and now I am so mad i cant even think of what to say. I was in this facility and when not the best it did help at THAT point in my life. Now that my career is mental health and I am trying to help my patients get simple request just calling makes me angry. Connie from the front desk is the RUDEST UGLIEST PERSON i have dealt with in THE FIELD!!! Do better Cypress, honestly such a disappointed.

Wish I had the power to put 0 stars.. I went here because of my extremely severe depression and then I was forced to wait 4 HOURS. So incredibly s+vpid. .. Once I got there, everyone was mean to me. My physician, Akpudo. H, treated like I was a cockroach. The most disturbing part is that even while I was crying, he continued and tried to manipulate me into making think I was s+vpid and was the bad one. Once u r there, you'll be wanting to be back at home. Group therapies didn't help me at all as well as the medicine. I felt the loneliest and empty I've ever felt while here. They take advantage of their position to treat you as if you're nothing or somehow inferior. ... You have to do what they say even if you're dying on the inside. The food is fake. This is more like a prison, than a clinic. They don't treat mental seriously. ALL THEY CARE IS ABOUT THE MONEY, THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS IF YOU K YOURSELF. after leaving this sh1+hole, you'll want to k urself.

No stars should be allowed for the suicide death of My Beautiful Partner after receiving in patient electro shock therapy by Dr. Dhatt. Tommy told Me the horrible doctor who wasn't Dr. Flowers stated that "If You don't have the therapy electro shock I will make it so that You never leave here." After bringing his depression medication and HBP medication during his stay the male nurse on duty stated "I have to inventory all of these meds so please take them all back home because the doctor will start him over from fresh." 12 days later he was released and at that time I was called to say that he had taken his life. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE AT CYPRESS CREEK HOSPITAL. I miss him so much and cry every day thinking about him. He simply didn't want to be in pain any longer. October 21, 2019 has come and gone and he will never come back from this facility experience. Please do not leave anyone you love here. RIP My Love.

Only giving one star because you can't give 0 Have made multiple attempts to contact this facility this evening for an urgent matter. On my first call at around 8pm I spoke to a very rude and unhelpful person who was more concerned about chewing their food very loudly than directing my call or even trying to assist me. I was unable to make contact with anyone after the initial call and being put through to a phone that just rang off despite me calling the switchboard back immediately and for over an hour and filling out multiple online request for contact forms. I'm honestly shocked and appalled that a mental health institution is so clearly inefficient and uncaring, especially considering all the negative Google reviews this place has. I have sought help with a different facility that I feel more confident in actually providing the appropriate care needed as well as dedicated support and clerical staff that want patients to get better instead of milking their insurance.

This place was horrible. took me off meds i had been on for months and randomly put me on prozac which made me worse. Had to argue with a lady named i think named april about my medicine for bedtime alsmot every night there. their thearapy groups induce ptsd, when i was there at 17 they made another patient break down into a schizophrenic episode due to the nature of the thearapy excersize where we had to share “the wrong way for a parent to speak to their child”. Vankatesh who is somehow a physiatrist there abruptly answered a phone call in the middle of our session and told me to “hold on”. he was the one who prescribed me brand new medicine that didn’t help. They automatically diagnose you with MDD (major depressive disorder) which was a misdiagnosis considering i have been properly diagnosed with PTSD and BPD. The thearapy was a joke seriously they did not care. Overall the worst experience ever. Please don’t send your children here they might get hurt by others due to lack of supervision of other patients or will miss lunch because they have food restrictions and requirements. the food is terrible as well. Find somewhere else to take your children cause this place WILL make their mental health worse.

There were some nurses who were kind and understanding but some staff was very snappy and unkind towards patients. They are understaffed and tried to give me medications without even telling me what they were. They put me on one that had my blood sugar very low and when I had gotten out of the hospital to go home I could barely hold myself up and I kept falling over. They also do not accommodate people with different eating habits very well I had to say over 6 times that im vegetarian then they started a whole argument with my friend who also had dietary issues. There was also a nurse encouraging another patient who had a little crush on me which I think is highly inappropriate i didn't go to a hospital to meet a boy i came to heal.

This hospital is horrible. The people are horrible to you for no reason. The doctors prescribe you medications by just looking at you, they don’t even ask what’s wrong or what’s going on. They also forcefully admitted me into the hospital after asking them to let me leave while in admissions. I did not like what I was signing. They make their medicational decisions by asking family and personal questions, which isn’t right. They also have a very dirty environment.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HOSPITAL! It felt as if I was dealing with high-school students when trying to communicate with staff. I told them what works to help my daughter and they did everything opposite. I feel in retaliation, they did not prescribe the one medical that would stabilize her. She was in the hospital for ten days. I begged every day for them to give her the meds. They completely ignored me. When they sent her home, they did so with everything but her meds for the diagnosis. All kinds of anxiety and sleep meds and even pain medication. Why would a doctor want to let someone suffer like this? Out of spite. I'm not trying to do anything except help my daughter. Why wouldn't the Dr want the same? I have tried to call and report the neglect but get bounced all over. Not once has anyone called me back. Our mental health system is broken. Meanwhile my daughter is suffering. This is retaliation and neglect. Withholding proper treatment. My daughter is not a lab rat for you to test your medication theories. Why wouldn't you want to give her what has been proven to work. My daughter is legally disabled. You will take every paid day in the hospital but not treat properly. Knowing she will be back for another paid 10-14 day stay. Isn't this illegal?

This place is dangerous! Beware. We had to remove our minor child today with the police. They tried their best to bully their way to keeping her in an unsafe environment, but after consulting an attorney we realized their tactics were lies. They told us yesterday there was a signed court order by a judge and that we would not be able to remove her until the judge said so. Today, when asked to provide any proof of such order the Supervisor said she was dealing with problems and we could return tomorrow! Right! I am going to leave our child in an unsafe environment bc you are busy! They maintained that they wouldn't release her but once we called 911 they immediately changed their tune and said they were discharging her immediately. That same supervisor went on to admit twice in police body camera that she lied to me yesterday regarding a signed court order which never existed. The police that responded were there responding to several assaults on the unit, kids on kids, kids on staff, there was a supervisor going through a list with him. This place is dangerous and we will be following up with the State for their illegal practices and lies! **my reply to yours** You know very well who am I and you have my number in your system. My name is clearly in this review. If you're interested in discussing consequences for the actions of those responsible you may feel free to call me. And should have already, but you haven't and most likely won't. If this response was serious my phone would have already rang in the last 2 days, which it hasn't. The only people I WILL be reaching out to is the state medical board and my attorney!

Wish 0 stars was an option. They locked my daughter and I in a waiting room and she passed out in the bathroom for 5 or so minutes. I couldn’t get any nurses attention for nearly 15 mins and when I finally got the door to the bathroom open she was vomiting and deficating on herself. They refused to let me out the front door and would not let us have our phones or purses until my husband threatened to call police. We are seeking treatment elsewhere. Don’t trust these horrible people.

i was admitted into this hospital as an adolescent and was put into what one of the nurses called “the worst unit”. apparently other units could have more space, a tv with youtube and music, while we had dvd’s and card games. my psychiatrist, dr.akputo, immediately tried to put me on medications without giving therapy a chance. i liked interacting with other people, and there were a couple techs that i really loved and appreciate (ms.karly, ms.yenis, mr.ray, mr.carl), but my psychiatrist held me for 9 total days. my depression scale was always really low (2/10) and my anxiety scale was higher for the reason being that i didn’t know when i would be discharged. they don’t tell you anything about your discharge until the day of. not even the parents. those were the loneliest and most frustrating days i’ve been through in a while. i was told that i would see my doctor every day, but i only saw him on my second day and never spoke to him again. i don’t recommend this hospital.

This place was okay as far as affordable inpatient mental health hospitals are concerned. The staff is kind and mindful. Accepts medicaid. I recommend that you go to this place directly if you’re having a crisis… they are slow with intake… you’ll need to be patient and expect to wait for treatment, it’s a long drawn-out process.

Would leave 0 stars if able, they do not ask the patient where to send your prescription delaying you from getting it drastically when they tell you it is necessary. Very unorganized, horrible food, therapy services are seriously lacking and are not personalized. If you don't just need medication control, go somewhere else.

My nephew was placed in this facility for 6 days and the reviews aren’t the greatest so we were very concerned about leaving him there after reading what everyone had to say. Thankfully we have nothing but good things to say about this facility! The nurses and staff were all so helpful and every time we wanted to contact him they made it so easy. My nephew got all the help he needed and came out feeling so much better. This place deserves more positive reviews, we appreciate them so much!

First I would like to say there are some beautiful people who work here and care about the patients. Unfortunately I recommend and pray you never come here. I was left crawling on a floor for four days crying and begging in pain. No actual medical Dr. Saw me for 5 days then finally I was given my proper meds. Staff members lied and claimed to be supervisors. I filed a grievance that was likely thrown in the trash. Need I say more?

This place literally saved my life. I have unfortunately been admitted 3 times and each time the staff has been so caring and helpful during my deep and darkest moments. Food is good..activities are very helpful and to be able to go outside for fresh air is so refreshing. We played dominoes and even the coloring was fun. I'm not sure why this place gets such a bad rep.

Don't come here if you value your loved ones. My friend's sister has been here now for four weeks and the staff still hasn't given her a medical treatment plan. My friend wants to switch facilities but this hospital is collecting money from the state for every day the sister is a resident so they don't want to comply even though she is POA. This company, in our opinion, is not treating her Psychosis promptly. We feel the facility is trying to keep the patient there longer in order to receive funding from the insurance company and the state.

Our family member was there for many days. She suffers from mental health issues as well as dementia. Once it was time for her discharge, we begged the nurse not to send her home alone in an Uber because she had no cell phone and wasn’t supposed to be living alone. They did anyways. Hours went by and she never arrived in her home. We called law enforcement and neighbors. When I finally got ahold of a supervisor at Cypress Creek, he told me she was back in the lobby because she couldn’t figure out how to get into her home. Connor, the supervisor promised he would get her a new Uber to her sisters house and personally walk her to the Uber to make sure she was safe. A few minutes later, he tells me “my bad, she left in another vehicle and she’s gone now.” I understand that this facility is for those with mental health issues, but to completely overlook a patient that also has dementia and special needs is immoral and completely heartless. Do better. You are dealing with peoples loved ones.

Something weird going on at this hospital. My family dropped me off an outfit to wear and the staff only gave me the bra and panties and not the rest of the clothes. They made all the females wear see thru gowns while the men were fully clothed. At one point they asked me to pee in a cup but would not unlock my room for me to use the restroom so I peed myself in the middle of the day room and all the staff did was laugh... they told me to put my panties in a brown paper bag and never returned them to me. I asked if I could have my panties back and instead they gave me a diaper to wear. Even upon discharge they still didn't give me my panties back. The only way I was able to get decent clothes to cover up with was some of the male patients were nice enough to let me have some of their clothes because they also saw how inappropriate the females were being treated. I honestly didn't even feel safe showering here to the point that I would shower with my clothes on.. the food was good and most staff was friendly I'll admit. But just something very weird and pervy going on and I wasn't the only patient to see it. They also give out cigarettes to kids that are not even of legal smoking age. When I first arrived to the hospital I was in a manic state and took the shower curtain down. They took my shower curtain and didn't allow me to have it back the whole rest of my stay. So essentially everytime I took a shower it would flood the bathroom and they made me use my blanket to soak it up. Then wouldn't give me a new blanket afterwards so I would only have a sheet to cover up with. The only thing that made the stay tolerable was the friendliness of the other patients. Another thing is I don't even take medications but there would be nights the nurses would say I was prescribed meds and they would bring me a cup to my room with like 9 pills in it. When I would ask what they were for they wouldn't tell me but they said I have to take them. I was super uncomfortable with this but the staff was so persistent saying that I had to take them that I really didn't feel like I could say no.

This place will not let you sign out. Even when you asked to leave against Ama they won't let you. Even if you committed yourself and you asked to leave they won't. They say you was going to go home the next day and they lie. They don't listen they just look up the insurance and say oh he has this type of insurance so we're going to keep them as long as we can

Why was my 78 year old mother placed on a unit meant for aggressive patients. I was told they had a geriatric unit meant for people suffering with dementia. My mother is fragile and in a wheelchair. I had to take her out against medical advice because it is unsafe, we were lied to about her whole stay. Stay away!!!! It's also funny how now I get response after the bad review, but when she was there, no one could be bothered to talk to me. I called up there everyday to speak with someone in administration but kept getting transferred back to admisssions or the supervisor. This place only cared about her insurance and budget, not my mother!!!!

My significant other was suffering with stress induced psychosis (to the point where communication and higher functioning weren't possible for her). We took her to the E.R. and they placed her here. Right off the bat, they directly lied to her about her rights as a voluntary inpatient. Every time she asked the psychiatrist about being cleared to go home so we could get her individual psychiatry, the answer was always "I want to wait and see a bit longer". They held her for 10 days, which was exactly how long our insurance would cover inpatient care. She was then discharged and told to report for intensive outpatient GROUP therapy at the facility (hour drive for us) for at least 10 days, and it would be $40 or so PER DAY. They were supposed to be setting up her LOA and FMLA/STD through her workplace, but that was never done, and we still haven't even been able to get in touch with the Dr. for something as simple as getting her signature for said forms. The best part of all of this is, they didn't even treat her. She's still suffering with the same symptoms. They gave her mood stabilizers (samples, not a prescription) and some antianxiety meds (not what she needs), held her for 10 days, then sent her on her way. No one would answer my questions about her treatment or condition and I wasn't allowed to visit her. She got 10 min long phone calls for numbers she could remember off the top of her head. It was the worst 10 days of either of our lives, and it was for nothing. We have set up an appointment with an individual psychiatrist, and will have nothing more to do with this horrid place. If you're looking for inpatient care, or have a loved one that needs it, DO NOT GO HERE. I read all the reviews while the nurse was trying to get us to sign the transfer paperwork in the E.R., and decided to risk it because they made it seem like she wouldn't get care if she didn't accept it RIGHT NOW. Huge mistake. Side note: The canned response that will get triggered when they receive a 1 star review that will ask to contact them with questions or concerns should be another red flag for anyone out there.

Management is a freaking mess. Either their short staffed or don’t know what they’re doing. I was told to go here to have my medication reviewed by my now former psychiatrist as of today Dr.Flowers. He was not there and I was waiting for 3 hours during which I kept asking to be released and put off for longer waiting periods. Do not under any circumstances send a loved one or yourself to this place. It’s more to start relapse than help anyone.

I went here over a year ago it was amazing the doctors did what they needed to do I stayed for about 11 days and it was definitely the best mental hospital I’ve ever gone to, the food is amazing if I were to get admitted again I would have no problem staying there!

Came to drop my son off last night and was literally blown away with the care we Received. From the front desk person to all the staff we saw going forward. Rebecca (nurse) literally was a godsend. They weren’t dismissive whatsoever and truly seemed to care about what we are going through. He hasn’t seen a dr yet but so far I’ve been able to relax knowing that the nurses are incredible. I was so nervous bc of the area the hospital is located but once we walked through the door I felt better. Kirkland and the intake nurse were also incredible. So many nurses right now have horrible bed side manners and not a single person last night 12/8/2022 did!

Cypress Creek Hospital treated my daughter with great care and respect. They provided excellent medical and therapeutic services in a positive and calming environment. My daughter is doing much better because of them.

Why they have smoke breaks every hour or so for the patients in a hospital is beyond me. Giving patients medication without their consent and knowledge of the substance is cruel. Also, the counselors were awfully weak when dealing with group meetings.

I put myself in for depression. All the nursing staff was good, but they were under staffed. The first psyc DR, spent ample simple listening to my issues and concerns. He was replaced with another DR that would visit daily, but his were brief and under 5 minutes. The group therapy session were variable. Two therapist were really good. One not so good. The activites did not include age appropriate activites when in the gym. The food was high carb content and only had fresh fruit one time during the week. The HVAC was variable and room went from cold to hot often. It is hard to get sleep due to the noise. The shower was never hot and flooded the floor unless you packed a blanket at the enterance. I got what I needed here, but I hope there are better places.

Its been a while since I was here. Though truly I'm not sure if I've left a review or not but I will now. I was here at this place last year in December yes like any hospital or mental health it does have it's down falls. But truly the down falls are few compared to the fact this place and its staff saved my life. When i was admitted i was in a very dark place. My kids had been placed with family memembers. My relationship with now husband was about to come to an end. I was hallucinating visual and audio and paranoia. I wasn't on drugs. They kept me the full two weeks didn't just shove some pills down my throat. Turned out i had a severe uti i had from February when i had my daughter via c section. And they put me Depakote for focal Seizures and a mood stabilizer. Doctor flowers saved my life. The food was amazing. The activities were great. Privacy was amazing when it came to outside people they need patients permission. They allow smoke breaks which was great. Just all around wonderfhk place and if i ever feel like i did then or off period i will freely check myself back in.

Heartbreaking experience. My son was in crisis and needed help. The night staff watched and did nothing. He ended up having the police called after the staff escalated a situation that could have been managed by any competent mental health care provider. This was our second experience there and we will never go back.
