πŸ‘πŸ‘ I absolutely loved it!!! It's such a beautiful place, with nice views of the ocean and massive cargo ships. Being from Oklahoma we don't get to see nature at its best, I'd make that 7 hour drive anyday. Only real issue I had was not being able to swim out deep enough but being a regulated beach i ca... I absolutely loved it!!! It's such a beautiful place, with nice views of the ocean and massive cargo ships. Being from Oklahoma we don't get to see nature at its best, I'd make that 7 hour drive anyday. Only real issue I had was not being able to swim out deep enough but being a regulated beach i can understand.. But that wouldn't stop me from going back..

My husband and I came to the beach just to get away from the house for a little while. We wound up setting up and staying for nearly 3 hours. I even got my feet wet and played with sand. We enjoyed our quality time and the ambiance of the beach was especially after the sun began to set.

Sylvan Beach offers an enjoyable experience overall with its beautiful views, calm waters, and strong safety measures. However, the removal of showers both inside the bathrooms and outside for rinsing off is the reason why I rated it four stars instead of five. In my opinion, having showers available is super important , especially after spending time in the water, as they provide a convenient and hygienic way to rinse off saltwater or sand. Not having aqthese facilities might be inconvenient and could have affected the overall experience for some visitors, leading to the slight downgrade in the rating. Overall, while Sylvan Beach still seems like a great destination, the lack of shower facilities could be an area for improvement to consider in the future.

I love this beach. It's is very close to Houston. Nice and clean sand. Water is nice and warm. Life guards were very nice and monitors all wild behaviors for public safety. It was not very crowded. I just wished people had mask on, not in the water but walking around the beach.

Very nice small beach. Sand all the way out to the bouy line. Very few people on a Friday afternoon. Lots of picnic tables, some covered.

This is a family friendly place but the City of La Porte needs to bring it back to its former standing. Many things are in disrepair and does not seem the city is planning to do anything about it! On the beach front fix the wall as it was before ! Those ropes on the ground aren’t pretty! Also to the point that you charge 4.00 to enter the fishing pier and have a person at the entrance to police it - charge 1.00 for people that just want to take a walk on the pier and not going to fish! No added expense as you already have someone there policing the bands and you can make additional income! Duh!

I love being able to come to the beach without the crowd and traffic of Galveston. It's quiet and has great views of the ship channel.

Nice beach. Unfortunately too crowdy on holidays. Parking lot is big, but if you are late, it might be full. Ideal for holiday picnic near water. I saw only one shower on the beach. It is better than zero. πŸ˜‰

Beach is fine. People who go there and not pay attention to their kids is what is annoying. Pick up your trash. People in bait shop would help your business more if people were more friendly.

The water was awesome! Good place to take the family! Better bring a pop up tent or something. It can get as hot as Hell! And sun screen. Lol

Nice family friendly beach not over crowded. Waves were not too rough for my toddler. PROS: it was not a huge walk from parking lot and it's within 30 minutes of us. Huge pro is the showers by parking lot(iβ™‘that). Con was it was very brown water and felt lots of fishy nibbles ...but over all it's a great place to go with the family.

Cold, hot, rain or sleet...I always enjoy listening to the waters splashing upon the rocks. What a soothing experience every time. Love love love to visit. Very pleasant, no one bothers you and you can sit or walk as far and as long as you want.πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘β€οΈ

The grandkids love this place as do I. A quick trip20 min. Away from us! Early mornings are great, before it's gets too hot. 2 small beaches, a nice playground and a fishing pier.

Not a bad beach. Nice playground area for kids. It's a crowded beach, but that can't be helped.

Beach is small. And water is very brackish. The park itself is very nice and large. Very windy on day I went.

Not too bad, lifeguards serious. Very small, crowded, limited space, strictly enforced swim boundary. Great for little kids but not adolescents and adults and certainly not lovers 😁 the grounds are good, bathroom access picnicking area definitely good
