Excellent cold brew coffee! The person working was extra rude. Guessing it was just a bad day, I noticed a lot of clearly regulars placing orders.

This place is a little hard to find, but it’s pretty cute once you do. You have to go into the building with multiple little shops. The coffee is pretty basic and not anything spectacular. I ordered a sweet coffee and it tasted like bean water. The workers are friendly but that’s about it. It was a normal higher priced coffee shop that wasn’t that great.

My first time visiting the Understory location and we loved it! We ended up here after visiting another near by coffee shop and leaving due to bad service. Everything happens for a reason because my girlfriend can't stop talking about wanting to go back - she got one of their seasonal drinks an repeatedly said it was the best latte she has ever had. Oh yeah, and we took some fun pics while we were there! Highly recommend! We will be back.

This place's quality has decreased. I came more last year and the staff were more friendly, and the drinks tasted better. Now, the staff are cold towards the customer, barely smile, and don't seem to care about making the drinks. The girl taking my order barely spoke any words or smiled at me and I would expect more from a coffee shop cashier because those are usually the chattiest. I got an iced chai and it literally tasted like milk. I'm glad the milk tasted fresh, however when I order chai, it's probably because I want to taste chai. I actually went back and asked if they could add more chai flavor, which they did and I appreciate. IMPORTANT NOTE: if you work in the building or at JPMC, ask for the "building discount". It's 20% and that's like $1 off their lattes. So worth it.

We often passed by for breakfast. Good cakes. However, they need to move faster when making orders. Will come back

The service isn't great, and the lattes are just OK. Most of the time I am greeted by an apathetic barista who looks like she wants to be anywhere but there, which doesn't really motivate me to tip if I'm getting sub-par service. The quality has declined the past 2 years while prices continue to go up. There are much better alternatives in the tunnels.

My favorite coffee is the Johnny Cash. Good service, good coffee

This place is a hidden gem, they have a nice selection of coffee, I got an iced coffee and it was awesome! I'm so excited to try other items when I get back.

My favorite beans in the city, now accessible through the tunnels. Love the coffee here and the baristas are always nice. Highly recommend.

The staff are very friendly. But as far as Boomtown coffee goes, it's as basic as you can get. Extremely artisanal look, from the equipment to the staff but unfortunately nothing when it come to the beans.

A great place to stop and take a break for folks working downtown, Boomtown is a cool spot at Understory. The best thing about Boomtown is that it's always good: I have a hard time passing by their stand and not getting an iced latte, because they're so good. The espresso is strong but not overpowering. I've never had service that wasn't friendly here. If you're in the mood for a consistent coffee experience with a chance to people-watch, I'd definitely recommend it. There's a 20% discount for building tenants and the rewards program helps me being a regular!

It’s so hard to find a place that makes the perfect iced coffee and this place nailed it! The workers are also very welcoming and in a happy mood (:

I didn’t get the man’s name, but he was so kind! We’re visiting from out of town and he was like our personal travel agent lol. And he specially made me a caramel macchiato which isn’t on their menu:)

Since the big location downtown closed, this is a great alternative in a really cool spot with lots of other stuff around it. Of course the coffee is great, we all know that already right? Haha

My first time here I asked for recommendations of what to try, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I mentioned that I usually get iced coffee because hot coffee takes too long to be drinkable, and was told they can lower the temperature when brewing! I didn't realize this was an option and was glad for the offer. I definitely recommend the Milk and Honey and can't wait to try something new on my next visit.

Hip, refreshing coffee bar in downtown. Almost a mile from my office, and I gladly make the walk. I recommend the flat white.

Ordered a hot matcha latte with oat milk and did not ask for sweetener, which was probably a mistake. But the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Located in the basement which is a very open space with great atmosphere. Cappuccino was perfect and bought doing beans too. Also, the staff was chill and friendly. Only trouble is parking if you are driving there.
