Hi. I'm Dr. James Caplan from Helios. I eat at Epicure Cafe on a fairly regular basis. The service is great and personable, and the food is delicious. From the soups through the salads and entrees to the desserts, you cannot go wrong. As a weight loss physician, I can assure you that they have items to suit any of your nutritional plans. Just stay to the right of the glass display cases to avoid temptation.

Coffee was delicious, and the customer service was exceptional! I got an iced almond milk latte with cinnamon powder on top and the worker who helped me was super kind and also even took the time to froth some almond milk to add on top for decoration. The pastries looked delicious on display and I am looking forward to coming back to try them.

Stopped by to pick up some pastries. They tasted more of American style sweets than European style sweets which was not what we expected. Also, the strawberries on the fruit tart were fresh but the strawberries in the napoleon were rubbery and tasted weird. The staff and the atmosphere were nice though.

The Pistachio Cake was light and fluffy, the cream in between enhances the Pistachio flavor. The soft flaked white chocolate sweetens the cake and the raspberry's tartiness made an impeccable pair with the Pistachio flavor. A combo I never knew I needed! The other European Pastries looked amazing, so I took pictures of them but I did not get to try yet 😭

Good quality of everything! Wide variety of eggs, omelettes, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks, coffees and teas (herbal and so on). Yummy pastries and cakes. Very friendly and professional staff. I go there time to time.

My driver was happy with the food! Elated over the desserts! The posted art work was speaking pieces for the place! The tea cups were so Euro you might want two! :P

First time here. . Soup was warm wasn't hot. . Heard people would complain about food being too hot wth. . Bunch of idiots. Pastrami and turkey and Swiss was delicious French toast sandwhich was huge. . Decent in tasted iced match and ice tea was good not too sweet. The Palmier cookie was meh wasn't crispy enough way too much sugar and the pistachio cake roll looking thing was meh the green crust was way too much sugar the filling and cake was decent. Store is bigger more selection on food price is good but brioche and crossiant has better food and service

Nestled in the heart of River Oaks within the bustling River Oaks shopping center, this café-persian bakery is an absolute gem. Its quaint charm is evident from the moment you step inside, and the offerings within are nothing short of delightful. Indulging in the array of cakes and Persian baked goods, I was treated to a culinary journey that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The standout, however, was the impeccable tea selection, which is served in the most elegant and ingenious tea infuser cups I've ever come across. During my visits, I had the pleasure of savoring the princess cake, rolled cake, napoleon cake, and strawberry cake. To say they exceeded expectations would be an understatement; each cake was a masterpiece of flavor and artistry. The café's popularity is evident, as it tends to be bustling with patrons. This only adds to the allure, as the consistently crowded space is a testament to the phenomenal quality of the food and experience. For those seeking traditional treats, the café boasts an assortment of cookies perfect for Persian New Year celebrations. The attention to cultural detail is truly commendable. Convenient parking, shared with Steinway Piano, adds a practical touch to the overall delightful experience. If you're looking for a charming café-persian bakery that delivers on both taste and ambiance, look no further than this hidden treasure in River Oaks.

Fairly good availability of menu specials. Absolutely wonderful baked goods that are priced very well. Excellent spot for a midday espresso and a light-medium meal. We try to go here as often as possible when around West Gray.

The food is excellent. The Norwegian omelet is unlike any other omelet I've eaten in Houston. The service is good, but it is counter service with the exception of food delivery. Staff were friendly and able to answer my questions about the pastries. The atmosphere is also nice. One wall seems in need of aesthetic attention and the tables are close together. The conversation of other patrons was a bit overbearing due to the proximity of the tables.

Quaint place with neat art, tasty food and great service. Highly recommend a window table and grabbing a tray of cookies to indulge in later.

Nice little spot located in an enriched neighborhood. No wait. Ordered food and drinks and sat down. Food came out pretty quickly. I really enjoyed my meal and I do see myself coming back again. Especially to enjoy a piece of that Pistachio cake, yum!

Great atmosphere. Quick lie music. Lasagne and sandwiches were great. Lots of dessert to choose. Hot chocolate hit the spot

This isn't my first time here but will be my last. Seems like every time I come here, food and service just gets worse and worse. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and it came out practically cold....it was room temp, and dry as can be. We ordered scramble eggs, tuna sandwich and ceasar salad and my breakfast sandwich. It was horrible! We came in there weren't very many people on a Sunday afternoon yet it took almost half and hour to get our food. I mean seriously. This will be my last time here and don't recommend this place again to anyone. Go to La Madeleine down the street, at least you'll get hot food and faster and better service.

Best authentic European pastries in Houston. I am from Venezuela and we have a long tradition of European passiteries. How long I had been looking for high quality pastries but could never get close to the flavor and textures that I remembered. Well, this is THE place. I couldn't believe it. I am realized now :). Nice seating area outside, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for pastries.

Picked some slices of cake today, I came home to realized that the strawberrie roll wasn’t fresh you can clearly see the strawberries are going bad already, like I know they’re not gonna have fresh cakes everyday but At least try to sell good thing cause for the prices, should get better quality, I’m glad I didn’t buy a whole cake cause It would’ve been such a waste of money since I wouldn’t drive 40 min again to get my money back

Pastries are good. Prices for the pastries are fine, decor is nice. However, there are some shenanigans going on. Notably, they claim to have espresso (and charge more than other local coffee places for it) but what they serve has neither the distinctive crema or taste of espresso, and looks and tastes just like half a cup of coffee poured into a to-go cup. The rest of the place is fine, I suppose.

One of the best spots for a good and healthy breakfast, the desserts are delicious too, strongly recommend

While their desserts are prominently displayed the real stars are their savory foods. The paninis are large and rather tasty as are the omelettes--that coming from someone who doesn't usually like omelettes! Their toast (which they serve with all breakfast dishes) is absolutely perfect! As far as desserts, their cookies are ok, but the tiramisu cake is where it's at. Good ambiance, nice employees, and overall good prices; an excellent little cafe to get a bite.

First time visit. We got lunch and cookies to go. Atmosphere was nice. My favorite was the coffee, rich and dark, the Foccia bread And a coconut macaroon were amazing. The curry dish was ok, felt like it was missing something. I got the shrimp pasta dish. Not very flavorful. The shrimp on both dishes were good size and portions. The sandwiches that we saw going to other tables looked marvelous and we wished we got one. Very disappointed in the cookies. They look beautiful but have no flavor at all. Not sure if the recipe was made correctly.

Had not been here in a few years.. glad to see it's still doing well. I love interacting with the people here and trying their dessert selection with my family. Picked up a few small treats while we were in the area. Try the chocolate lady fingers.

Loved the sweets they had and the hospitality. They were about to close, but let us in and choose what we wanted to purchase and didn't hurry us up. The owner and staff were very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend.

This is acwondrrful place to stop for a bite to eat for any meal. I personally love their homemade soups and bread for lunch. They also have great 1/2 sandwich w/soup or salad deals but be aware, the 1/2 sandwich could just fill you up and are great! They usually play classical music, enhancing the relaxing meal. Highly recommend!

Dog friendly / outdoor seating & service. Breakfast was out in 5 minutes after order. Food was honest & delicious. Indoor is homely & large for a “small” mums & pups cafe.
