Every one is very friendly. The owners wife told us about how her husband is an architect and all the neat details he put into this awesome place. The water has a hint of mint in it and is super delicious and refreshing. They warmed up the pastry for us and the egg omelette was expertly made. This will be our new hang out spot. Dog friendly as well.

Loved this place! Walking distance from our hotel in the museum district. Service was prompt and friendly, and once the order was placed it came out very quickly. My partner had the egg, toast and bacon breakfast, and of course I had to try the spam breakfast sandwich. While he did enjoy his breakfast, mine was best! I used to eat spam as a child so I just had to try it. It was excellent. Served on a croissant, with spam, egg, cheese, and arugula. We also loved the space itself. Although there was plenty of seating, areas were laid out in such a way as to create private spaces. Kudos.

We pretended that we were in Hawaii drinking delicious frappuccinos and eating Ahi Tuna Poke and pork rice bowls. The outdoor area is serene and the service was attentive and friendly. We loved it!

This place is fantastic! The food was great, I had a breakfast burrito with a bread pudding that were delicious, I could not stop eating it and it was pretty large. The patio is very well decorated and nice to sit at if the weather is nice! Server was very kind and welcoming! Highly recommend and would return.

This is a good place but a little on the pricey side. They serve brunch until 2 on the weekends which is nice if you take your time getting out of bed those days:) The mimosa was strong but lacked flavor. The latte was also strong but enjoyable. The Kona pancakes were delicious and I definitely suggest you give them a try! The restaurant is bright, comfy and cozy . The staff was friendly but short handed which was noticable when they got busy.

Great atmosphere, great staff, great selection of drinks. The complimentary water is flavored with fruit and adds a nice touch the the place. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great neighborhood spot. The owner is often seving, cleaning, or gardening. Love it.

Vibe- This is a nice cafe that sits inside of the Asia Society Texas Center. They have about 8 tables inside and a few tables outside too. This is probably not an ideal spot to come to if you’re wanting to study because the cafe is connected to the center and the noise level is loud. However; siting outside could be an option if you need a softer noise level. Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got a hot matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla; it was good! I also tried the matcha waffle, I honestly couldn’t got something else; it was alright. Parking- I ended up parking on the street and paid $2/hr.

Super cool cafe at the Asia Society building. Enjoyed a yummy Hanoi Egg Coffee. Perfectly balanced sweetness of the cream and bitterness of the coffee.

Located inside of the Asian Society Texas Center building. Really nice staff, gave great suggestions and made stellar coffee. I had the Artichoke Panini with the Hanoi Egg Coffee made from Kona coffee (if you know, you know) both of which were delicious. Would recommend!!

I love the coffee, food and pasties at Java Lava. I drop in on a regular basis for a meal and other times grab a coffee to go. I also hosted a bridal shower and was very pleased with the buffet and attention Su and his staff provided. My guests were so complimentary of the food and venue.

Discreetly tucked into the Asia Society Center this little Cafe is a hidden gem. I ordered the avocado toast with a fried egg. The avocado was actually seasoned but not overly as was the egg. Toast was crunchy and held up well.. Totally delicious. Iced matcha latte was on point also.

Their old location was cute but this new place is stunning. Wish they stayed open just a tad later though!

Cute, delicious, and a prefect lunch spot!Vietnamese coffee, baked mochi and crispy cod sandwich were a hit. Only ding, the cod tasted like it might have been frozen and not freshly breaded.

I love this cafe. It’s the only reason I go inside the Asian society center, because it’s the only thing exciting .✨ The food is incredible. The restrooms 🚽 at the center are disgusting so don’t use them or you will loose your appetite.🤮The only thing I was upset about is that I Salmon 🍣 but they have me SPAM!!! I also order a Nutella 🥐 , and it was smudge in avocado 🥑 overall food 🍱 is delicious.

Hanoi egg coffee is creamy, sweet, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Casual cafeteria style with a small but appealing brunch menu and a good selection of tea. Quiche and avocado toast delicious, Hawaiian bread pudding left a probably too hot oven too soon and was almost liquid inside. Will give this one another try next time.

Stumbled upon this cafe while in the neighborhood and decided to try it out. I had the Java Lava Breakfast with a golden milk latte and my husband had the salmon masubi with a Hanoi Egg Yolk coffee and both meals + drinks were delicious! Everything was so fresh, too, which I really loved!

What a fun place! Walked in just before they closed but they made us some coffee anyway :) Super cool vibe and delicious coffee. Since we hadn't been there before I just asked for 4 iced coffees, whatever they wanted to make and all 4 were delicious. I know that because I tasted all my kids coffees before they got them, mom tax. It's vegan so don't expect heave cream or whip cream, there's no drive through but it's worth the stop and we wish we'd had time to hang out and observe the locals.

A neighborhood favorite and probably the best waffle I’ve ever tasted! We visit weekly.

This little place is just what the neighborhood needs! It's such a great location: near Hermann Park, easy train access, near museums, and there's off-street parking. Oh, and there's another thing: the outdoor area is dog-friendly! Woo Hoo! I can't speak with authority on the food items but the coffee drinks that we ordered were perfect. It was a hot afternoon when we were here so I would have liked additional icy or slushy options to meet the Houston heat. But I'm not complaining. I think those options will eventually arrive. The staff couldn't be nicer. The decor and ambience were clean and inviting. I will definitely be back. I loved this place.

It's an interesting place and I am not quite sure whether it's a gastropub or what kinda vibe. But the beer selection is decent and the coffee is lovely. The food is a hit and a miss. We got the lava fries, buffalo bites and the Tina cheese puffs to start. The lava fries were the best and I would not get the buffalo bites. We got the Honey and Ginger Chicken, Ribs, Ahi Poke, Big Kahuna Burger and the Kona Beef skewers. The Ribs were not seasoned well enough and had very little sauce. The other entrees were good and flavorful. I would go back to try some of the other items and enjoy their patio deck.

Really nice place with a great atmosphere. Multiple patios that are huge and fantastic for social distancing. There is quite a bit of construction noise from the office building across the street under construction, but you are also in an urban environment. If you want total peace and quiet, go to the suburbs. The food came out super fast and drinks were great. Highly recommend them and their customer service.
